We wanted to hit all the key highlights in a one day guided trip and this tour was the ticket. Pickup was easy and even ahead of our scheduled time. Leroy was our guide. He was extremely knowledgeable, flexible and consistently was checking in with us to see if we wanted any adjustments to the schedule. We saw everything we wanted and then some!

Þingvellir (Thingvellir) is a historic site and national park in Iceland, east of Reykjavík. It's known for the Alþing (Althing), the site of Iceland's parliament from the 10th to 18th centuries. On the site are the Þingvellir Church and the ruins of old stone shelters. The park sits in a rift valley caused by the separation of 2 tectonic plates, with rocky cliffs and fissures like the huge Almannagjá fault.
The Geysir Geothermal Area, located in southwestern Iceland, is a mesmerizing geothermal field renowned for its active geysers and vibrant hot springs. The area is named after the Great Geysir, one of the world's earliest known geysers, although it is currently largely dormant. The star attraction is Strokkur, a highly active geyser that erupts approximately every 5-10 minutes, shooting hot water and steam into the air to the delight of onlookers.
Gullfoss, often referred to as the "Golden Falls," is one of Iceland's most iconic and spectacular waterfalls. Situated in the canyon of the Hvítá River in the southwest of the country, Gullfoss is a powerful two-tiered waterfall that plunges dramatically into a rugged, glacier-carved gorge.
Friðheimar Tomato Farm and Restaurant is a unique and innovative establishment located in the south of Iceland, near the town of Reykholt. What makes Friðheimar special is its focus on cultivating tomatoes using geothermal energy, creating a sustainable and eco-friendly environment for tomato production. Visitors to Friðheimar have the opportunity to explore the tomato greenhouse, where rows of tomato plants thrive in the geothermally heated atmosphere. The use of geothermal energy allows for year-round cultivation, and the greenhouse itself becomes a fascinating attraction with its warm and vibrant atmosphere.
Kerið, also known as Kerid or Kerith, is a stunning volcanic crater located in the Grímsnes area of southwestern Iceland. What sets Kerið apart is its vibrant and striking appearance, characterized by its deep, vividly colored crater lake and surrounding red volcanic rock. The crater was formed around 6,000 years ago during a volcanic eruption. Over time, the volcanic cone collapsed, creating the caldera that we see today. What makes Kerið particularly captivating is the contrast between the deep azure-blue color of the lake within the crater and the red, iron-rich volcanic soil that forms the walls of the crater. During different times of the year, the water level in the lake can vary, creating a dynamic visual experience.

We only had a 9-hour port stop to see as much as we could in Reykjavik and Saevar did an amazing job of customizing our tour and meeting all of our requests. He was always quick to respond when booking and planning the tour. On our day in port he kept us ahead of the big buses so we could enjoy the major sites without too many crowds, but best of all he has a wealth of knowledge about Iceland and Reykjavík which he shared with us and which enhanced our experience. The vehicle he provided was spacious and comfortable for our family of 8 and he kept us entertained with his Icelandic humor. If you only have one day book with Saevar!
Great experience. Our guide Saevar was the best. Lots of knowledge, good information and took us to some great places. Adjusted the trip to see some cool places off the beaten path. Recommendations for restaurants was spot on.
I got Unreal Iceland's contact through Thor of Salty Tours. Within hours of reaching out, I received a professional and friendly reply from Sævar with answers to all of my questions. From that point on I knew I was in capable hands, and the trip did not disappoint! For my family and I (7 people in total, ages 6 to 74), Sævar customized and curated several trips that included airport pick-up (plus Golden Circle tour), a Reykjavik city tour, and a cruise terminal pick-up/airport drop off (plus half day Reykjanes tour). Sævar also helped me coordinate tours along our various cruise stops (but honestly his tours were the best). In addition to the many amazing sights, we also made stops at Papas (a memorable local restaurant with most delicious fish & chips), Sævar's favorite coffee shop, and a bakery with the best ever cinnamon rolls! Sævar's knowledge of Iceland is so extensive, there were no questions unanswered (and we had tons!) As a photographer with a keen eye, Sævar took us to the most scenic spots and showed us the natural beauty that is Iceland. We felt at ease, safe, and completely taken care of by Sævar, and we can't thank him enough for such a wonderful experience -- except we can, by returning to Iceland for one of his Norther Light expeditions! I truly recommend Sævar and his company for your Iceland adventures!
Unreal Iceland were superb from start to finish . Saevan answered all our questions and more . Very knowledgeable and happy to help
This was excellent. I booked it based on reviews that I saw. We had Leroy the guide and he did nit disappoint. He was kind, considerate and caring. Very knowledgeable. We hired him and the vehicle for a day and visited the golden circle. One the way he told us a lot of factual information. He had patience. Was very funny and made the day go fast. It was brilliant! Best day!
Leroy is an amazing guide!!! His storytelling made the long drive entertaining and welcoming. He even added a stop to feed Icelandic Horses when we were finished a stop faster than expected. Highly recommend!
Devin was informative and entertaining. We had great weather and were able to slip in a couple extra photo opportunities. Highly recommend.
Highly recommended. Our tour guide/driver Devin, turned out to be extremely knowledgeable about anything related to Iceland: from Geography, to History, including Geology, Sociology, Agriculture, Music…by listening to him you can tell he loves learning and sharing it in a very didactic , easy way.
My wife and I took the full day Golden Circle Tour with Devin. This was a day we will never forget, and Devin was a vital part of this memory. His knowledge of all things Iceland and beyond was incredible and insightful. The location we visited were gorgeous beyond words, especial Gullfoss Falls. Thank you to Devin, his partners, and the entire organization for creating such a memorable experience for us in one of the most beautiful countries in the world! We cant wait to return and do the Southern Tour and scout out some Northern Lights.
We had the best time on the Golden Circle tour with our guide Devin, who kept things fun and informative throughout. He also had us laughing all day with his laid-back McConaughey vibes and jokes. If you’re visiting Iceland, this is the perfect tour to see and learn all about the amazing natural wonders here—waterfalls, geysers, tectonic plates, and more. It’s truly a magical place!
What an unbelievable day! Leroy was an excellent host. He is knowledgeable and makes the day very relaxing and interesting. I can highly recommend any tour with Leroy!
Our guide Leroy was all-time! We visited in February and had an amazing time seeing the beautiful Iceland landscapes in the snow. Unreal Iceland is punctual, professional, extremely warm and personable. Thank you Unreal Iceland for a memorable experience! We can’t wait to come back!!!
Unforgettable magical experience, we saw unesco sites, hot springs, waterfalls, craters, and had an outstanding meal at the tomato farm bistro. Leroy was a brilliant tour guide that was extremely knowledgeable
Great guy Very knowledgeable about the area and arranged a fabulous place for lunch. Highly recommended and very good value for money.
Amazing day out with Leroy our driver and tour guide. What a great guy and very knowledgeable, felt like we had our very own Alexa! Saw some incredible sights, lakes, waterfalls, hot springs. The meal at the bistro was exceptional, great recommendation. At incredible unforgettable experience. 5* highly recommend
Awesome day out with Leroy as our guide. What a warm engaging lovely kind & respectful person, with lots of interesting information to share about Iceland and our trip in a clear easy to understand way. A unique individual with a heartwarming story from across the world. Highly recommended to use this bespoke customised tour with Leroy. You should ask to see some of his photos!
We did the Golden circle with Leroy and enjoyed it SOOO MUCH. Weather was stunning and Leroy made it safe, comfortable, fun and very engaging. Learnt a lot about Iceland. Leroy is able to "teach" a lot in a very entertaining and easy to memorise way! Thank you so much!
Simon was great. He knows so much about his homeland. Do not hesitate to book this tour with Unreal Iceland.
Almar was an exceptional guide! He had so much enthusiasm for making sure we got the best experience possible, and would have happily driven around all night looking for the northern lights if we had asked. Also so full of interesting stories about Icelandic history and language, the flora/fauna, science of the northern lights and volcanos, and great tips about music and food in Reykjavik. He's got experience and genuine passion. Would definitely recommend!
