BEST DAY TRIP EVER!!!!! Gon/Gozalo our guide was fantastic. So informative, such interesting stories, perfect pace of everything! This guided visits was worth every penny and it’s a must visit I would say. It was my first time experiencing so many things and it felt so magical. Also definitely bring waterproofs (I got so soaked but luckily I layered up). If you’re wondering if you should go behind the waterfall, you must. Words can’t describe the experience and shoutout to Gon for being a great guide. Need more people like him in the world :)

Our driver-guide will always stop, get out of the car, and search for you. Martin was a great tour guide, the waterfalls, the black sand beach, the glaciers, - out of this world!
This was our favorite tour during our trip to Iceland the last week of October 2026. We were picked up by a Mercedes Sprinter around 8:30 am at the bus stop right outside our hotel. We lucked out with great weather and a knowledgeable guide. The drive to the first stop is the longest, but there is a quick stop to use the restroom and buy snacks. The first official stop is Skógafoss. Amazing! Be prepared to climb 464 steps to the viewing area at the top of the waterfall (if you’re able) for the most magnificent views. You’ll also see a glacier at the next stop. Then off to Vik. The black sands and basalt sea stacks at Reynisfjara beach were a breathtaking and otherworldly sight. (Do not go too close to the water!) Lunch in Vik was delicious. Our final stop at Seljalandsfoss on the way back was perhaps the most spectacular. There, we were able to walk behind the falls. You do get wet, so wear a waterproof coat and pants! All-in-all it was an unforgettable experience. Highly recommend!
The trip was a fantastic way to explore some of the wonderful gems on the south coast from awesome waterfalls to glaciers and the black sand beach. Roger ( from Barcelona - apologies that I don’t know how to spell his name), is a great tour guide with an amazing knowledge of facts, history, geography, food, and all things Icelandic. He also is fun and patient with his guests. This was an awesome day trip that we will remember!
You know when you go on a tour and the guide is so faithful to the script that you can’t really interact and you get a sad sampling of fun facts about the city/country/region that you’re in? This was NOT the case with the tour from EastWest with our fearless Icelandic leader Bjorn! Not only is he passionate about sharing his country and culture with the group, he created a really nice group feel among the travelers, too! At every stop, he was so helpful about orienting us and telling us about the best parts so we could optimize our stops (the turnip soup was super delicious). I was so thankful for a window into a local’s mind for the day: he touched on topics that varied widely from epigenetics to women’s equality (at my request) to fairytales, unions, the standard of living, and the winter hobbies of Icelanders. I love learning, especially from someone with the humor and enthusiasm that Bjorn brought the entire day. Oh, yeah, the sights were pretty fabulous, too! Thanks for the tour operator recommendation, Scott from Chicago from the local pool. Note: I’m a vegetarian and I was pleasantly surprised with the vegetarian and vegan options at each stop.
Fantastic! Very knowledgeable! Very enjoyable! Our tour guide having so much pride in his country really added to our trip! Thanks!
Excellent tour of the South coast. We left Reykjavik on time and had a comfortable ride. Our tour guide, Simon "the spicy Viking" was a fountain of information, delivered with great humor that everyone appreciated. We had time enough to get a good look at each waterfall (including walking behind Seljalandsfoss), the black sand beach, a glacier, and the town of Vik, and the lunch we bought at the restaurant by the black sand beach was first rate. Definitely recommend this tour, especially if you can get Simon the spicy Viking for your guide!
What an incredible day! The South Coast of Iceland is breathtakingly beautiful, and every stop seemed even more spectacular than the last. But what really made this tour exceptional was our guide. Simon was genuinely friendly, funny, incredibly knowledgeable and clearly passionate about Iceland. His stories, humour and enthusiasm made the entire experience so much more enjoyable. He really went above and beyond to make it a memorable day. The van was fantastic too. It was modern, spacious and extremely comfortable, which made travelling between all those incredible sights a pleasure. An absolutely unforgettable end to an already amazing day. My mum and I loved every minute, it was an absolutely unforgettable day. I honestly couldn't recommend this tour highly enough. A huge thank you to our wonderful guide for making it such a special experience! We were just gutted we didn't bring any ISK with us to give him the tip he deserved. Maybe the guides should carry a card reader? With love from the DRW's 🖤
This tour was amazing, the tour operator was very knowledgeable and friendly. Views and sites were great and so beautiful. We got to do so much in just one day!
I joined this South Coast tour with my young son, and it was an absolutely wonderful experience! The scenery was breathtaking, and the vehicle was very comfortable. Our guide was fantastic, making the entire journey enjoyable and entertaining. I was initially a little worried about the 10-hour duration, especially travelling with a young child, but it turned out to be much more comfortable and enjoyable than I had expected. Of all the wonderful experiences we had in Iceland, this South Coast tour was the most memorable. I would highly recommend it to anyone visiting Iceland.
This was a superb tour led by Einar. From pick up to put down, this tour was spot on. Travelling with a 15 year old it kept us both transfixed. The scenery was incredible, the timings just right and our guide brought so much information, insight and delight. There is a passion and a curiosity about the Icelandic people for their exceptional home and Einar was a wonderful example of that. Would totally recommend this tour.
An amazing day. Firstly, our guide Gon was exceptional. Polite, friendly, and knowledgeable. The day was well organised and we had ample time at each spot. Gon rearranged the schedule of the day to make the best of the weather. I particularly liked the attention to detail of the pick up. I received an email 30 minutes before pick up with a description of the bus, the registration number, and name of the driver. This is very helpful when the pick up points are busy and multiple minibuses are stopping. I highly recommend both the company and Gon!
Interesting tour around Iceland’s south coast which was very comfortable with plenty of stops. Diego, our driver/guide was helpful, knowledgeable and always looking out for our safety.
Eddie was a terrific guide. Very informative and very personable. Pick up and drop off was so convenient. The weather was great all day and the sights along the South Coast were magnificent. EastWest was recommended to us by our hotel and we couldn’t have been happier with our experience.
I highly recommend this tour & our guide Eddie! We had a blast! Eddie made sure that we were all comfortable at all times. Along with his funny stories, he was very knowledgeable about Iceland and the South Coast. We enjoyed how personable he is & really appreciated that we made the most out of every stop on our tour. Thanks Eddie for an unforgettable tour!
Customer service was great, as we had to re-arrange dates to accommodate weather and other tours. We did three outings with this company and the guides were all really good, pick-up was prompt, minibuses were clean and comfortable, and itineraries were good. I’d gladly choose this company for other tours if I return to Iceland.
This was an amazing tour. The ride along the South Coast was beautiful and our driver, Al, was very informative. We loved the glacier viewing and walking behind the waterfall (we had a cheap poncho with a hood and didn't get wet). We even got to see Icelandic horses close up because they were by the fence at a stopover point. It was a great day and is highly recommended.
Wonderful tour with Smari to the south coast. Would highly recommend.
A terrific tour with Einar. His retelling of the sagas added to the enjoyment of seeing this glorious landscape. He tailored our arrival at the sights to try and avoid the big coach parties and it worked beautifully. He has a immense knowledge of all things Icelandic and also shared his favourite bakeries, bars and restaurants with us. He created a great atmosphere among his passengers and seemed to enjoy the tour just as much as we did. Would highly recommend.
Einar was such a wonderful tour guide! He was so knowledgeable every stop and in between. In addition, Einar had a great sense of humor and our group felt like we got to know him which was a bonus. Such a beautiful day packed with incredible sights. I’ll carry this day with me always. Thank you Einar!!!!
Fantastic tour! Decent amount of time spent at each location, considering how much of the gorgeous land and seascapes we got to see in a day. We had a very comfortable van with plenty of room for the dozen or so of us on the tour. Pick-up and drop-off was really easy and well organized; there were multiple spots get on/off so we didn't have far to go for our transport. Our guide, Carlos, was funny and had interesting and educational information to share, plus he had a great playlist of music from Iceland. I wish I'd have gotten the link to the playlist! The lunch stop at Black Beach Restaurant was very yummy (delish soup and dessert); priced like you might expect in Iceland. We'll definitely use EastWest again, next time we visit Iceland!
This would have been a 5-star rating as the sights were awesome and our driver/guide Oscar was great. Unfortunately the weather was awful which is certainly not EastWest’s fault but even the driver admitted at the start that it was going to be a very wet day. By the end of the day, even with wet weather clothing, everyone on our tour was soaked to the bone and cold. Several people had to buy dry clothes at the stop in Vik. I really feel they should have cancelled the tour as it was tough for anyone to enjoy. Again, we made the best of it but it took a lot of luster off of what could have been a great day.
It was an amazing experience to explore the South Coast with Oscar! Besides stunning Icelandic nature, which without any doubts is absolutely brilliant, I want also say thanks a lot to Oscar, who managed alone to smoothly drive, tell interesting stories, share beautiful pictures and put all his attention to all of passengers! Muchas gracias, Oscar!!!
Einar was so fun! Not only was he knowledgeable about all our stops he even played an Icelandic playlist. Being a music fan - this was a high for me. At the end of the trip he also made some great local recommendations for me. I’m veggie so it’s nice to have the inside scoop.
What a day!!! We got extremely lucky with the weather. Waterfalls, glaciers, black sand beaches and sheep!! Einar our Icelandic tour guide was phenomenal. He was super knowledgeable and attentive. He really made the day special.
Amazing experience! Einar was an incredible guide! Would highly recommend!
Our tour was awesome!! Eddy (Eduard) is very personable and entertaining. He did a great job of making sure we hit all the best spots, and rearranged the order so we could maximize (somewhat) rain-free sight seeing! We saw rainbows and sunshine!!! The only thing we would have liked is to eat at a local restaurant in Vik instead of at the Black sand beach restaurant.
I had an amazing time on my South Coast Sights Tour. The tour guide Siggi was great! He was very knowledgeable about the locations and told so many great stories along the way. I received an email the night before with info about the van, license plate and driver which was nice since there are so many different vans picking people up for different tours. The USB plugs on the bus truly make the day less stressful since you can charge your devices between each stop to make sure you have enough power for all your photos and videos. After a short pitstop and bathroom break on the way, we started the day at Skógafoss and got to see it with blue skies and a rainbow! Next was Reynisfjara Beach where we got a safety briefing about the waves. This was also our lunch spot. The Black Beach Restaurant has lots of options but I had a hotdog from the stand right next to it. After lunch we stopped at Vik for a short photo moment at the church and the view of the village. Our next stop was the Solheimajokull Glacier. Lastly we went to the Seljalandsfoss and Gljúfrarbúi Waterfalls. The whole reason I booked this specific tour was because the description specifically included the Gljúfrarbúi Waterfall and I was so happy that I got to see it! Luckily the line wasn’t too long as it was mostly people waiting for others to come back out one by one through the rocky water. After getting some photos there, I walked over to Seljalandsfoss and walked behind the waterfall. You definitely need your waterproof clothing for these two waterfalls. This was a fantastic day and tour! Definitely recommend!
Mikaela was excellent as a guide - informative, considerate, kind and fun. She shared interesting information and sound safety advice. The order of the tour was altered to make the most of the weather. Despite some heavy rain, the black beach was amazing - so fierce and exhilarating. The waterfalls were so beautiful and the sight of the glacier was breathtaking. Well worth attending!
EWEDUARD our guide was fantastic very informative and friendly . Took us to many exiting spots on the south tour , highly recommend for everyone must do .
We had a great experience with EastWest tours! Our guide Simon really did his best to plan the route so that we could avoid the worst of the rain showers. We saw all the hotspots and more! We also enjoyed a delicious meal at a local restaurant, and Simon ensured our safety at dangerous spots like Reynisfjara Beach. Simon gave us a lot of information about the area, the culture and random interesting facts. We had a wonderful day!
A wonderful tour and our guide, Leroy was engaging and informative. Thank you, Leroy for a memorable tour!
Simon was the best tour guide you could find for this tour. He was amazingly informative about the geologic formation of Iceland's remarkable scenery. He also regaled the group with amusing stories about Icelandic customes and some amusing expressions. I highly recommend touring with Simon.
The south coast tour with guide Martin was amazing! He gave us the best tips and planed the order of stops according the weather to make the best of it. Highy recommended.
My sister and I took the Southern Coast tour and it was absolutely amazing. Our tour guide Gon was phenomenal and I can’t give him enough praise. I highly recommend this tour and hope you are lucky enough to get Gon as your guide!!
Fantastic day out seeing some of the iconic places in Iceland. Our guide Michaela kept us well informed throughout the day and enhanced the overall experience, giving plenty of time at each location to ensure we were able to take in the natural wonders
Beautiful, amazing scenery everywhere, especially 200 foot high, 80 foot wide waterfall, and black sand beach with cave and mountains right there. Tour guide Siggi very informative.
It was a great experience and our guider was wondering. It was excellent trip and we had a wonderful time. Thanks
I am so pleased with this tour! I only did one tour while here in Iceland and this was the one! Gon was fantastic!
It was fantastic experience with breathtaking Landscape. The information provided by a guide Martin was entertaining and very informative. We would definitely encourage people to book with this company and with this guide.
Our tour guide, Martin, was amazing! He gave us alot of information on areas we visited, with a good attitude. He was very helpful in explaining all aspects of the tour stops. I highly recommend this tour!
If you come to Iceland you must visit the South. Indeed very breathtaking scenery, even driving the landscape is out of this world . Our Guide Oscar, was extremely knowledgeable and we enjoyed his history and stories throughout the day. Perfect timings at all the stops and clear instructions where the bus will be waiting for us. East West are very professional and we highly recommend this tour .
Small group is the way to get the most from this experience. This was a priceless family adventure which will remain dèeply imbedded in our hearts and minds. A very special thanks to "Simon Spicy Viking" who was somehow able to take these very special moments and make them even more special. This is a must do trip to must visit sites when traveling to Iceland...and with this team! Don't rely on social media postings since they can't replicate this tour...just book it and be sure to request Simon Spicy Viking!
I was an the south coast excursion the other day. It was a truly wonderful experience although a word to the wise - being waterproof clothing! Oscar was again a wonderful driver and guide, providing historical background and geological information on the trip. Things were well planned out with enough time to enjoy each stop on the way
Beautiful places . Well paced . Driver guide understandable informative and entertaining .just beautiful .
Although it was raining almost the whole day, we still had fun. Our guide Simon was entertaining and knowledgeable.
Unfortunately, the weather was not on our side on this tour. I still enjoyed what we saw. The Black Sand Beach is a wonder! I wish EastWest had alternative stops when the weather is not clear. We passed old Norse homes built into the mountainsides; I would have loved to stop and photograph them. Our guide Salvi (sp?) was a hoot, but he may not be for everyone. He shared many personal experiences. Also, EastWest doesn't have the most comfortable tour buses. The buses need more legroom!
Tour guide was very helpful and considerate, only talk when it was necessary to give us information. Reminding people about safety, what not to do
Excellent tour that hits all the major attractions in the South Coast! Our tour guide Andre was fantastic and communication before the tour was extremely well organized.
Another great tour with Eastwest and yet another funny and entertaining guide Simon. With his sardonic humor and lively stories, Simon entertained the group with interesting stories about Iceland, the volcanic history, and his own family’s journey from earthen huts to modern Icelandic life. Not only did Simon provide great information about all the attractions he gave us a guided walk to the Solheimajokull glacier and the Reynisfjara black sand beach. This was our third tour with Eastwest and each one has been spectacular.
