Itinerary
The rough and wild lava field of Berserkjahraun makes for a viewing of a quintessential Icelandic landscape. The lavafield was formed over 4000 years ago and features in many of the world-renown marvels of medieval literature, the Icelandic sagas,
This is the most famous mountain in Iceland, together with the close by waterfall Kirkjufellsfoss it is a perfect picture location. Well maintained pathways mean that you can easily wander around the sight and marvel at the natural beauty.
Snæfellsjökull National Park, located on the Snæfellsnes Peninsula in western Iceland, is renowned for its stunning landscapes and geological features. Established in 2001, the park is dominated by the Snæfellsjökull volcano, topped by a glacier and famously featured in Jules Verne's *Journey to the Center of the Earth*. The park includes rugged coastlines, lava fields, and diverse flora and fauna, offering hiking trails and breathtaking views. It also contains cultural and historical sites, such as ancient fishing villages and Viking settlements, making it a popular destination for nature and history enthusiasts.
See the black sand beach Djúpalónssandur with it's rich history. Once a popular area for fishing, the sea is now empty as boats have moved elsewhere. All that remains is the wreckage of a British trawler on the black sands, and several 'lifting stones'. These lifting stones would have been used to test the strength of potential fishermen and now you can try and see if you would have made the cut too!
Wonderful rock formation, the rocks are 75 and 61 meters tall. Rising out of the artic ocean these two rock pinnacles of volcanic plugs of basalt are a truly stunning work of nature.
Arnarstapi is a quirky and cute Icelandic fishing village with a rich history dating back to the vikings. Enjoy a breathtaking walk along the coastline with outstanding sea cliffs populated with an unusual variety of seabirds. The area makes the perfect place to take photos and take in the raw beauty of Iceland.
Unlike the other beach on this tour, Djúpalónssandur, this beach has the golden sand more familiar to visitors from overseas. Ytri Tunga is notable more for the seal colonies that can be seen lolling about the rocks just offshore.
Budir Black Church is a striking little church set in a desolate landscape. It´s a popular subject for photographers and you will have a chance to capture if on this short photo stop.

Dully was an outstanding guide who shared many great stories of his own life here in Iceland. He made us feel like part of. the family
Great tour, didn’t like we were charged for pickup at our bus stop. But Dooley, our guide was amazing. He made it very interesting with tidbits I would have never gone out looking for.
The trip is wonderful. The guide Alain is instructive and helpful.
Tour was great. Wish the weather would have been better, but loved the black sand beach the best. Our tour guide, Sigfus Thor, was amazing! He was very knowledgeable and kept the tour group on time. Give us some great tips when we stopped and even walked some of the spots with us.
The tour was amazing. Beautiful views and the guide Sven surely did have alot of interesting stories to tell us which made it more real as someone visiting the place for the 1st time.
Wonderful sights! Amazing experience of the peninsula with Sven and our great driver!
This was a fantastic tour, saw so many interesting landscapes and Sven was an excellent guide even taking us to a hidden waterfall as a bonus stop!
Petur was our driver and guide. He was very friendly, extremely knowledgeable and very polite. He had great communication skills and treated the bus(team) with respect. He made it the most enjoyable day and kept us informed at every stop. He had lots of stories about history and tales of Iceland. We all had fun.
It is in fact a LONG day but very well spent. You get to see a lot of great sights, I was tired as this was my last tour of the trip and was running low on energy but I enjoyed it nonetheless.
We enjoyed the tour. Everything went well. The guide was very attentive.
Alain was an excellent tour guide who provided a wonderful experience all around. He helped us understand the Icelandic names and I can now properly pronounce snaefellsnes. The sagas he told were always fun. I've learned more from this tour than I have in the five days I've visited Iceland. I was able to see and capture so many beautiful sights thanks to this tour. And the Eitt Sett that Alain shared with the group was a nice touch. The only negative was being crammed like a sardine into the back row of the tour van. It was quite claustrophobic. My feedback would be to book 1 less individual to allow for a more comfortable experience for those sitting in the back row.
We had a great time with the trip. Our guide Alain is fantastic. He is very friendly and professional.
A fun-filled day! Great itinerary, and the tour guide was super knowledgeable and gave detailed explanations.
Guide Denis was informative and tour was well organised. We made many stops for picturesque photo shoots. All in all it was a memorable tour
Very good. Denis was very fun and informative. Would recommend
Kalman was my guide nice guy, very informative and awesome playlist. The weather was super gross rainy and cold when I went but the sites were still nice to see.
Guide was good. Very informative, knowledgeable and interesting commentary. Good scenery although it was raining and had extremely strong wind. Saw seals in the water, black church, black beach, red church etc.
The tourist guide is well experienced and telling us all related information for every sense spots. This makes me enjoy the entire trip and having a good memory for Iceland.
To be honest I was underestimated the attraction of Snaefellsnes Peninsula. This place is wonderful, everywhere we stopped is magnificent, really enjoy all the site that company selected. Denis is a really professional guide, introducing all the sites even when we are in the car. The tour is relaxing and with perfect time management.
Tour was good. Peninsula is so beautiful. Tour guide/driver was nice. We enjoyed overall. Worth to see ❤️
Fantastic tour. Nice and friendly tour guide, professional of course. Luckily the weather is very pleasant.
Good way to see a lot of the hotspots in one day. Magical scenery
Amazing trip. We have been to 7 stops and each stops has beautiful views! Our guide gave us a great tour and wonderful commentary.
Marieke was our tour guide, and was very knowledgeable about the peninsula. We were on the premium tour, and not only did she show us the main sights, but on the drive from location to location would tell us about the facts, history, and legends of the peninsula, making it much more interesting. Would definitley recommend the tour.
Anna was fantastic! She was lovely, told us many tales and stories with some history as well. I loved that in some stops she walked with us to show us the spots for photos and along the way she would explain the history behind it. It was also a beautiful day which helped and the coach was as very comfortable. I had an amazing time!!
Alain was excellent as guide and driver. Friendly, knowledgeable, safe. I can’t fault him.
Very knowledgeable guide Allan
Very thorough tour, Omar was great. He explained everything very well and we had more than enough time at every stop.
The tour guide did a great job. Thank you.
Marieke is a really responsible tour guide & driver. She explained everything very clear!
Marieke is a great guide to our full day trip
Mareieke is very nice! We had a great day!
Vjeran was so much more than just a driver - he was very enthusiastic and knowledgeable with his commentary and stories throughout the day and ensured the whole group was happy. What an amazing host - thank you 🙏🏻
Amazing .. too many places with different tastes.. wish to do it again in summer
Wonderful tour, beautiful views and extremely Perfect Guide! I highly recommend everyone! :)
Very nice trip, perfect guide and lovely atmosphere in a small group
Nice tour to the North part of Iceland. Spectacular views of mountains, fields. We had a chance to see seals . Guide Peter is very nice , kind, with a lot of interesting stories and really good story telling. Wild Iceland in a peanut
Beautiful trip! We saw everything! Our guide was Peter. He is not ony great guide, but also very handspme man 😊
Our guide Peter was very friendly, chatty and knowledgeable. He clearly loves the places he showed us, which makes a big difference as he wants us to love it too (which I did)!
Peter is the best. Great tour to see seals, trolls, and more. Highly recommend.
Peter was an amazing guide and driver! Saw so much in one day and learned a lot.
This was my very last tour in Iceland, the guide told us, this tour is normally the third one, for me was the fourth, and it was totally worth it to wait, different views, more relaxed, and the weather was on our side. We get to see some seals, but not the glacier, nevertheless the whole views and atmosphere created by Sicci was great.
While the trip makes for a long day, it was actually very relaxing. The only exception being lunch which you have to do on the go but this does allow you to see more sights. The guide was friendly, knowledgeable and gave us ample time at each location. The bus operator seemed very competent and made us feel safe. Crew at the bus cleaning depot was very helpful and friendly in helping me recover a lost item.
Learned so much about iceland and its people.
Wonderful experience. Knowledgeable guide. Thoroughly enjoyed myself!
Excellent experience. The itinerary was good. The pace was good. Some of the other travelers were consistently late, causing the whole group to wait on them, but that’s not the operator’s fault. I loved the stories the guide shared even mixing in local relevant musical pieces. He also shared more about societal issues (salmon farming, whaling, immigration, etc) than other guides. Provided a deeper understanding of the challenges facing this beautiful country.
Fantastic trip, stunning views with very well informed and full of interesting stories guide.
Dooley our guide was wonderful. He told great stories and provided thoughtful insight into Iceland. It poured rain all day, but I still had a great time. The black sand beach was beautiful and waterfalls are stunning. Definitely recommend!
Ottar was our tour guide for the day who shared his love of icelandic music and history on the drive and got us to the many stops safely. He also ensured our safety at the stops as many were slippery due to constant rain. All the stops were amazingly beautiful and so glad we took this tour. This is an all day 11+ hour tour with a good amount of walking and on/off bus. If you dont have good mobility, this tour is not for you. There is also time to stop for lunch, if you dont bring your own or grab something at the gas station stop.
