Itinerary
Kirkjufell Mountain is a famous mountain of Snaefellsnes. There is also a waterfall nearby which can be visited.
Snæfellsjökull National Park, located on the Snæfellsnes Peninsula in western Iceland, is renowned for its stunning landscapes and geological features. Established in 2001, the park is dominated by the Snæfellsjökull volcano, topped by a glacier and famously featured in Jules Verne's *Journey to the Center of the Earth*. The park includes rugged coastlines, lava fields, and diverse flora and fauna, offering hiking trails and breathtaking views. It also contains cultural and historical sites, such as ancient fishing villages and Viking settlements, making it a popular destination for nature and history enthusiasts.
At this location are you surrounded by a lava field. The beach contains of very round stones and you'll have a great view on Snaefellsjokull in good weather conditions.
Amazing rock formation in the ocean, the rocks are 75 and 61 meters tall and make you feel like you are in the country of elves and trolls.
Arnarstapi is a small fishing village that sits at the base of the Stapafell mountain in the Snæfellsnes peninsula. The place names of the villages in this region originate from the Icelandic sagas which are some of the oldest examples of literature to have com out of Europe. In particular the place names here draw from the saga of Bárðar who was a half man, half ogre said to have lived in this area. The beautiful walk along the coast will give you the chance to truly dip in into this amazing landscape
One of Iceland´s most iconic photo stops, the black church at Budir make for a striking photography subject.
At Ytri Tunga Beach is it possible to see seals from time to time.

Great tour.with Sigh Thor he was very accommodating and very knowledge, the weather wasn’t really great but the sights were still very beautiful. Definitely recommend
Axel gave us a great tour of the Snaefellsnes Peninsula. We saw DOUBLE RAINBOWS at two spots, over the Black Church and at the Arnastapi basalt column Sea Cliffs! Axel timed the main sights to work with the clearest weather of the day, so we got to see Church Mountain in its entirety. Fantastic small bus tour with stops for amenities and enough time to enjoy the views. Great use of the day, and excellent tour guide!
Thank you for the tour! We really saw so many places in just one day. Our guide was also super nice—he stopped often whenever he noticed the light was great for taking beautiful photos. Thanks to him, we managed to catch a stunning sunset in Iceland!
Worth every penny. Wonderful guide
Tour operator - BusTravel Iceland What I Liked Iceland is beautiful, and the Snæfellsnes Peninsula is no exception. The landscapes, coastal views, and geological features are genuinely stunning and absolutely worth seeing. The sites themselves were the highlight of the day — dramatic cliffs, quiet villages, lava fields, and unique scenery you don’t get anywhere else. I also pre‑booked this tour specifically because it was advertised as a small‑group experience, and I paid extra for that. The idea of a more comfortable, more personal tour was a big part of why I chose this company. What Went Wrong Unfortunately, almost everything about the logistics and guiding fell short of what was promised. The scheduled pickup window was 08:00–08:30 (Iceland time). Instead, I received an email at 06:00 saying the tour would be delayed to 09:00–09:30 due to “operational reasons.” I arrived at my assigned pickup spot at 09:00. At 09:15, a large bus from the same company arrived — not for my tour, but for a 2‑day South Coast trip. At 09:20, the same large bus returned and called my name, even though I wasn’t booked on that tour. They told me I’d be transferred at a gas station. I finally transferred to the small coach (18 people) around 09:45. The replacement guide told me he didn’t receive a call until 09:15 asking him to come in. When I asked whether they had an on‑call list, he said they simply call people until someone answers. This means it took the company over three hours to find a replacement driver — which explains the last‑minute delay and the chaotic pickup. The guide himself was not very experienced. He frequently started stories and then trailed off without finishing them. He told the group we’d stop somewhere with quick‑serve lunch options, but instead brought us to a sit‑down restaurant with an expensive buffet that many people didn’t want — and he never asked the group beforehand. He also left the vehicle unlocked with the door open while he went inside for lunch. I locked the vehicle myself and brought him the keys before heading out for my hike. Later, he skipped one of the scheduled stops because it “takes too long to walk to,” yet he had time to stop at a church that wasn’t on the itinerary and that no one requested. Summary The Snæfellsnes Peninsula is absolutely worth visiting — the natural beauty is incredible. But based on my experience, I would not book with this tour company again. The delayed start, the disorganized pickup, the last‑minute scramble for a guide, and the overall lack of professionalism made the day far more stressful and disappointing than it should have been. If you want a reliable, well‑run small‑group experience, I recommend choosing a different operator.
Ottar is a very nice guide and it was a beautiful scenery!
Great tour with great guide Ottar, he came along with us on some spot to explain us what’s special in the places and walk us through it! Highly recommended

Peter is a great guy. Matter of fact, all the guides were great.
Amazing journey around the Snaefellsnes peninsula. Despite rainy weather it was fun. We had an awesome guide (Sigfus Thor). He made our trip rich with icelandic history, folklore, music. I learn a lot about Iceland, people and culture. My music playlist and reading list are improved as well ;)
Our guide Dooley is amazing. He made this trip safe and wonderful. I will surely recommend him to guide your trip
Great trip. Tour guide was excellent thanks Ottar
Great loop of the Snæfellsnes Peninsula albeit in typical (read: unpredictable and rainy) Iceland weather. Sigfus was a great guide knowing how to incorporate Icelandic musicians, humor, and topical trivia/stories into the experience.
Sigfus Thor was great! Very informative, fun, kind and a great guide and driver. He went out of his way to accommodate needs and answer questions. In spite of a very rainy afternoon, it was great experience!
The best tour we did in Iceland! Beautiful and informative. Our guide Sigfus Thor made it even better by sharing stories and making us feel safe/entertained.
Our one-day tour was absolutely perfect! The weather started off pretty bad at the beginning, but our guide was always thoughtful and considerate towards our group. He stayed with us, took lots of great photos for us, and his commentary along the way was really interesting. We had such an amazing day. Special thanks to our guide VJERAN!
Vjeran was super nice and drives great! He was eager to take photos and you can tell he loves his country and job. Highly recommend! The weather was windy and rainy but we still had a blast!
Vjeran is a great tour guide with rich knowledge in geography history and culture plus lots of interesting stories! It’s more than a great visual feast! My friend and I really enjoyed the trip!
The guide Denis was very informed, kind, funny, nice story telling, droped great facts about whole Iceland, great English. The driver Robert did ride smoothly and safety
Wonderful Day. Tom, our guide, was Professional, Personal, Full of Knowledge and Funny! He was happy to answer any and all questions. He kept the tour lively and interesting! Thank You!
We were a group of 7 and absolutely loved our tour. Pick up and drop off was easy as bus stop was just across from our hotel. Tour guide/driver was knowledgeable and had a great personality. Definitely recommend Bus Travel Iceland!

Wonderful day trip of Snaefellsnes Peninsula with Siggy Thor. Wonderful rugged terrain & plenty of history & background info. Highly recommended to round out your travels in Iceland.
Unforgettable tour, amazing location and the best guide one could ask for: Sigfus Thor. Highly recommended
Best guide by far! He always walked with you so you knew the right way to go and was always willing to take pictures! Made the bus ride enjoyable with stories and special songs!
Addi is very friendly and cheerful. Arranged time well and gave clear guidance. Answered all my questions patiently. A nice trip!
Had a great experience with Addi on the 1-day Snæfellsnes tour. Everything was well organized, the trip was comfortable, and Addi was friendly and helpful. Would definitely recommend!
Addi was very friendly and answered everyone’s questions. He displayed a lot of knowledge about the history of the country and interacted with us while driving the bus as well.
Siggi was the best guide... super funny and engaging. The views were incredible at every stop. Absolutely incredible day!!!
Vieran is the very best guide, he is very dedicated!
Beautiful scenery and countryside. Loved the waterfalls and mountains. The black pearl beach was wild! Tour is very long/tiring so know that up front. Plus dress for the wind and cold! We did but it was still chilly on the sea cliffs. Our tour guide Jon was very nice and helpful.
Andrea was great. Really loved the stories and history
Vjeran was a sensational guide. The sites are fantastic but having a good guide connecting stories and making you laugh along the way makes all the difference. Would happily go again.
Vjeran was a wonderful tour guide. He was lots of fun and very informative. I recomend this tour and him as the guide
We had a fantastic tour of the Snæfellsnes Peninsula with Vjeran! He was incredibly informative, super nice, and made the entire experience enjoyable. We had the opportunity to capture breathtaking photos of Iceland’s incredible landscapes and explore the beautiful black-sand beach. A wonderful day and a great way to experience this stunning part of Iceland. I recommended this tour.
Great tour guide vjeran! Wonderfully informative in understanding Iceland and the geography and history. Far better than the tour from the cruise line.
Huge thanks to our charismatic guide, Sigfus Thor! His wonderful sense of humor was the perfect addition to the tour, and thanks to his prayers, we had fantastic weather on 23.08.2026. He was attentive to every member of the group and made sure everyone felt comfortable throughout the day. The small-group format made the whole experience especially enjoyable. There was enough time for comfort breaks, and everything was very well organized. Every location on this tour was absolutely breathtaking! A must-do! The seals looked as if they were posing for the delighted tourists, ocean waves crashed against the black rocks, and the glacier would sometimes hide behind the clouds, only to reveal itself to us again. Spectacular!
Such a fun experience! Our guide Sigfus Thor went above and beyond to make this a memorable trip. Great stories, fun music, and didn’t stick to a strict schedule ensuring we all had a wonderful time. Highly recommend.
We had a great tour with our guide Vjeran, who was both educational and entertaining.
Vjeran was an amazing guide. So knowledgeable and also great sense of humor. He guided us on our walks and gave us plenty of time to see the beauty of the area. I would recommend this trip and any tour that he acts as a guide.
Vjeran was a terrific guide and incredibly knowledgeable. His background information for each stop was informative and in depth. The tour stops were beautiful and breathtaking.
Halli was excellent. He was very knowledgeable, interesting and funny. I would do it again. Would prefer a sunny day but even in the fog and mist, it was great.
Great stops and beautiful scenery. Olivia, the bus driver was fantastic. She handed a difficult situation, extremely well and was overall fabulous. While our guide was friendly and knowledgeable, I was looking for more information about Iceland and local lore than the political views from on American activist.
It was a wonderful experience! Dooley was amazing guide! We had our family and friends on the bus. 18 passenger, very comfortable van! Dooley took the time to answer all questions and give us info as we had our tour. We took a picture with Dooley but I don't know if it got posted! Thank you for the great tour!
