The trip was really worth it! Plenty of time at each of the sites and our tour guide Guna was lovely and really knowledgeable! Took a lot away from all the little facts and explanations of the history

Itinerary
The first stop of the day is the town Hveragerði, where we have a short restroom stop. Hveragerði is about 45 min drive from Reykjavik. There are restrooms, a bakery and an exhibition about earth quakes. Consider this a short pit-stop on our way to the Golden Circle.
Gullfoss, is one of the most famous waterfalls in Iceland. It is powerful and tall. Through it the river Hvítá, which is a glacier river originating from Langjökull, plunges down this two step waterfall. There are a handful of viewing platforms to observe the waterfall and above Gullfoss there is Gullfoss center where there are restrooms, a cafeteria and gift shops. NOTE: The path leading all the way up to the waterfall is closed during the winter season.
In Haukadalur there is a field of hot springs associated with the hot spring Geysir, but Geysir is one of the most famous hot spring in the world and used to be a geyser. The main display is the hot spring geyser Strokkur, which erupts approximately every 5 minutes. Here we have time to walk around the area and this is also where we break for lunch. At Geysir center you find restrooms, gift-shops and the restaurant Glíma which serves for suitable for any pallet or diet.
Þingvellir is full of history and natural beauty. It stands between the North-American and Eurasian tectonic plates. This rift valley has a special place in the hearts of all Icelanders. It is where our nation was formed by the Norse Viking settlers when they established the oldest parliament in the modern world, Alþingi Íslendinga, in the year 930 AD. At this stop there will be enough time to walk around and explore this natural marvel. This is the closest you can get to being in two continents at the same time. We will have the opportunity to walk in the rift valley, where the tectonic plates are pulling apart. We can observe this movement since under the national park the Eurasian and the North-American tectonic plates are moving apart by ~2 cm every year. Þingvellir was designated as a World Heritage of UNESCO in 2004 and is unquestionably one of the most beautiful and historic places in Iceland. In the area there are restrooms and coffee shops for visitors.
We'll stop at Kerið crater, a 6500 year old volcanic formation containing a small lake. This crater is characterised by the contrasting colours of the moss, red volcanic rock and light blue water. Be sure to venture down to the lake side and take in the majestic beauty that is Kerið.

guide hershy was.great excellent
An excellent tour full of beautiful scenery and sights . Vjeran was a brilliant guide- enthusiastic and informative. He went above and beyond to make sure that everyone had a lovely experience. A really enjoyable day .
Excellent Tour of Iceland if you only have one day. We saw all the major points of interest. The bus picked us up at the correct location. We were given a half hour time frame for pick up. We did not have to wait long. Maria was our guide. She was very friendly and gave us a lot of information about her country, which she clearly loved. She went above and beyond to get us to our dinner reservation after the tour. We had more than enough time to eat and shop, as well as see everything. She gave clear directions on the best way to visit the sites. Highly recommend!
Fantastic trip around Golden Circle! Was a perfect day with bright sunshine, lovely views, and great company. Our guide was very knowledgeable and well spoken, made for a very enjoyable trip all around. Would highly recommended!!
Great way to leave Reykjavík and see the amazing Icelandic landscape. Lava fields, geysers, waterfalls, & tectonic plates.
What a wonderful tour! The ride was smooth, the sights were breathtaking, and Dominica was such an insightful guide who shared funny anecdotes. You can tell she really cares about giving her group a great experience—she even surprised us with an extra stop to view the Eurasian side of the tectonic plates. Couldn’t have asked for a better tour!
The “guide” safely drove us to each destination. He explained a lot of things en route, but there was no interaction with him at any of the stops. I expected to receive a tour versus just being dropped off to see things on my own. Very nice but not much personality.
Each stop we have very short time stay feels a little rush, wish we can have more time to enjoy the scenery.
Our golden circle tour with Axel was great. He told us a lot about Iceland and its history, culture and nature, without it beeing too much. Everything worked very well and the timing at the different stops where just right.
Covered the essential sights efficiently. Maria was very pleasant but maybe a bit too talky, especially with personal comments. Beautiful sights.
What a lovely day from start to finish! Our Pick up from the pick up point on time and our Driver/tour escort Bruno was such a lovely and informative individual, he made sure he chatted to everyone on the bus throughout the trip which we thought was nice. The small group tour was a much more intimate experience and we had a few extra stop offs, which was a lovely surprise! We had enough time at each location to do what we wanted and the day went so quickly! Thank you Bruno for a truly amazing day!
This is an easy tour. The circle is beautiful. Our guide was very informative. The timing of this tour was managed well. Enough time to see the beautiful sights.
Golden Falls is worth the trip by itself, but a 10 hour round-trip for all that the rest, combined, is worth….isn’t worth it. Overhyped comes to mind, especially with a driver, while very courteous and affable, turns around after dropping us off at the volcano crater for 40 minutes in the elements to drive back to pick up and add 2 more people to our tour …..people, for whatever reason, couldn’t manage to arrive at the correct pick-up point on time as the 14 of us (left for 40 minutes at a stop worth 20 minutes) did. That was unconscionable! They should have been offered a refund (at most) and the tour could have resumed on time and without this unnecessary delay! Ironically, toner aboard, they didn’t stare out the windows at the passing scenery as the rest of us were doing….. no, they began reading a book and playing on their phone! Add insult to injury, the male made the whole bus wait an additional 10minutes to depart from the last stop because he was late returning! No sign of remorse yet again. Jacob, the driver, said nothing; did nothing!
Indra was a wonderful guide with deep knowledge of Iceland and the Golden Circle, and I'm so glad he was ours. Our tour day was rainy and windy, but honestly it was perfect. We got the full Icelandic weather experience, and it made the day even more memorable. 🙂 Pickup was easy too: the minibus collects you directly from your hotel if it's one of the listed pickup locations, which was very convenient. The Golden Circle and the stops along the way were absolutely breathtaking. My favorite moment was standing between two continents at the tectonic plate boundary, which was unforgettable. I highly recommend this tour, and if you get Indra as your guide, you'll be in great hands!
Our guide and driver, Maria, was great. Her historic info along with site-specific info was well presented. Her English was spot on and her voice and twist of wording was so pleasant. She was punctual along with our other travelers keeping to the timelines.
Our guide Indra was very knowledgeable about iceland. Very engaging discussions while on the bus. He made everyone feel very welcome. The stops on the tour were the highlights of the area. Beautiful scenery.
After a bit of a rough start - standing in a cold rain waiting for our bus - this turned out to be a wonderful day with Your Day Tours. Our guide was named Thor and we enjoyed his commentary during the day. The thundering waterfall was amazing and the national park was beautiful. We had about 20 people in a very nice Mercedes Benz coach. Highly recommended!
Our guide Axel was outstanding. He was well informed on every stop on the tour and was very engaging and considerate. We were very lucky with the weather and had a fantastic day.
Really awesome stops along the way to experience waterfalls, geysers, deep lakes. Unfortunately the weather became very cold and raining, but that's the way it goes! The driver/ guide was very helpful and knowledgeable.
We enjoyed the trip but the weather was very wet and windy. We dressed for it but our views were obstructed by the fog and wet windows. I am glad I went but never stopped raining.
Beautiful trip The trip itself was wonderful the van was comfortable and everyone seemed to have a very good time, I know we did.
The driver/guide drove badly and gave us minimal explanations of what we were seeing. He was unsociable and little to add to tour enjoyment of the trip.
Our guide Slavi was fabulous. He was extremely knowledgeable about Icelandic culture and history. He was amusing and made our time on the bus really enjoyable.
I was initially somewhat nervous about booking this tour because we had limited time in port and did not want to miss the ship. This company was very cognizant of that fact for all of us and made sure we all remained on schedule. Loved the "small group" part of this trip as we weren't wasting time for alot of people to unload and reload. The stops were well planned and if managed, allowed you enough time at each one. So glad I booked this tour!
The tour is a must if you only have a few days in Iceland and are staying in Reykjavik. The tour was advertised as a 0900 pick-up. The mini-bus did not show until 0930 so be patient. The bus was comfortable and had good wi-fi. The stops were great and all had water closets. Highly recommend this tour for a small taste of what Iceland has to offer.
The tour allowed us to see a lot of the countryside and the natural beauty of Iceland. The small group experience was good because we were more nimble in our timing than the big bus tours.
It was breathtaking! We saw so many cool landscapes and even got to feed some horsies. What more can you want?!
Great experience. Very interesting sites to see on this trip. Our driver also shared many details about Iceland between each stop that provided more information, helping us to better understand the Icelandic people and their culture.
Great day trip outside of the city to see more of the countryside. The waterfall and Geysir were my favorite. The tour guide was very knowledge and the sights were beautiful. We were lucky enough to have a break in the rain and sunshine on some of our stops.
We had a lovely time on this tour. The views were beautiful and the fall colors spectacular. Only thing that could’ve been better is if we’d had Sunshine and that’s not on the tour guide or the agency.
Our Golden Circle tour was one of the highlights of our visit to Iceland. From the Kerid crater, to the erupting geysers of Strokkur, the spectacular Gullfoss waterfall to the stunning landscape of Pingvellir, every stop offered something unforgettable. And we had one unforgetable stop too - a farm with excellent icelandic ice cream courtesy of our wonderful guide, Franklin! What truly made the day special was Franklin. He brought the places we visited to life with fascinating facts, engaging stories and a brilliant sense of humour that kept us entertained throughout the journey. We particularly enjoyed hearing about her wonderful sister, who served as a member of the Icelandic Parliament. Those personal stories added a special dimension to our understanding of Iceland and its people. 100 points to Grinfyndor! Thank you, Franklin, for making the whole trip so interesting, funny and memorable. And by the way, he shared a spotify list that was superb! We couldn’t have asked for a better guide. Highly recommended!
Franklin is the best! He is a born and raised Icelander with an abundance of knowledge of Iceland. Allows and encourages questions. Has a great sense of humor and pride in his heritage. He took us on an adventure that will last a lifetime.
This tour was great with one exception, the weather. Unfortunately it rained fairly hard all day which did affect our tour. The sights were god considering the weather. Our trip included a horse farm visit and a tour of a tomato farm which was great. Having lunch at the tomato farm restaurant was very good, the tomato soup and tomato beer are worth trying. The trip ended at the Sky Lagoon which is a must. Crystal clear warm water was the perfect way to end our rainy day. By the time we got to the lagoon the rain had stopped and the sun came out for a briefly.
Despite the weather we had a great time! The Geysir rewards patience. Also, the lamb stew at the restaurant nearby is excellent.
A great glimpse into the natural wonders of Iceland. The tour moved along at a good pace. Our guide was very good. Only drawback ... the audio on the bus was not the best
Absolutely a wonderful trip. Our host was Gunn. She was amazing and funny and showed real care when a couple of the guests managed to completely ignore her and wind up at the wrong pick up location. We had plenty of time at each stop. The stops really showcased Iceland’s beauty. The small group format let us get to know each other, and by the end we were all chatting and joking. I highly recommend this tour. I loved it.
Our group was efficient and timely, so we were able to add on 2 extra stops! The guide was helpful and informative as well.
Great way to experience the beauty of Iceland. Our driver/guide, Peter, was great. Definitely wear comfortable hiking shoes!
This tour was a perfect combination of scenic driving and walking/hiking. All the sites were spectacular, and Francesca made sure there was time for a couple of special stops along the way.
The tour guide was very friendly. He was very informative during the drive. Saw amazing sights, absolutely loved the waterfall!
Well, um, yes, you know - um commentary could have been a bit more definite, but the tour was most enjoyable and our guide was very helpful. I would recommend this tour to anyone. We were also fortunate with lovely sunny weather. The colours of countryside were beautiful. As a geologist it was magic to stand on the Mid Atlantic Ridge in the Thingvellir National Park.
Small Group Tour is definitely the way to go. There were only 12 of us. We got to interact with the others and got to know the guide better than we might have on a large bus. We saw all the best sites and the guide added a couple of unscheduled stops that were a lot of fun. The best part was our guide Bruno who was funny and knowledgeable.
Great waterfall. Geological tectonic plate area. We had beautiful weather on our tour. Very busy at all stops.
There was a lot of driving but that was expected. Our tour guide/driver, Alex, was fantastic with keeping us entertained with facts about Iceland. We made a couple of extra stops that were a nice surprise. The Falls were unbelievably beautiful.
Good overview of Iceland. We saw many of the highlights of Iceland. The pickup place at the cruise dock was well mapped out.
The guide was great (sorry I can’t remember his name). My only issue was that he’d rush other stops in order to have more time at the stop he deemed his favorite. The thing was, we didn’t have much extra time, so time was cut short everywhere else but it didn’t save us any time. Other than that everything was gorgeous!! The sites were amazing and the guide was knowledgeable about Icelandic history.
This was a great tour with a personable and knowledgeable guide. The only drawback was feeling rushed at the glacier and at the waterfalls. I know there really isn't any help for that because a lot is crammed into this ten hour day. If a visitor has the time, try to break it up into two days. Lunch at the black beach is quite pricey and there was a pretty long line, even in September. If you're visiting in the summer, pack a sandwich and spend more time exploring the beach and surrounds.
Great experience. We saw everything on the itinerary but the order was tweaked so we missed the larger crowds. Good job Orn.
This was a great tour start to finish. Our guide, Bruno, was super friendly, spoke great English, and was very kind and accommodating to all on the tour. He even added a few extra stops that were a treat. Highly recommend this tour to see all of the Golden Circle.
