Itinerary
Once picked up, our initial stop on the Golden Circle Tour is the Iceland Hot Springs Park in Hveragerði. A brief drive will bring you to the Eilífur Geyser, which erupts every 15-20 minutes. Stroll along the park's trails, enveloped by bubbling hot springs that highlight Iceland's geothermal marvels. Savor hverabrauð, a sweet bread baked using geothermal heat in the on-site bakery. Inside the greenhouse, witness banana plants thriving in this unique geothermal setting.
Next stop is at Kerid, a brightly colored volcanic crater. Kerid is only a few thousand years old, and the crater’s colorful appearance comes from iron deposits in the rocks. The caldera is also covered with lush banks of velvet-green moss. Inside the crater lies a shallow turquoise-colored lake, making Kerid one of the most striking sights seen anywhere in Iceland.
Gullfoss, or The “Gold Falls” in English, are a two-step waterfall fed by the nearby glacier at Langjokull with freezing meltwater, thundering down 30 meters into a deep ravine. The power of these cascades creates a lot of mist and spray, so you might get a little wet if you get too close! On sunlit days, that means there will be constant displays of brilliant rainbows too.
The next stop on your Golden Circle tour is Geysir, the highlight of the Haukadalur geothermal area. Bubbling with “hot spring” activity, this is the place that gave geysers all over the world their name. There you can admire Strokkur - an active geyser erupting every 10-15 minutes.
Thingvellir National Park is a place where you will see the astonishing spectacle of continental plates tearing apart. Here you can stand with one foot in America and the other in Europe, on either side of the Mid-Atlantic Ridge. Thingvellir is a place of great historical and cultural significance for Icelanders. It’s where its first parliament met for a thousand years, as chieftains would gather to make laws, dispense justice and settle disputes. Some were even executed in the “drowning pool”!
At the end of the day, the bus will head towards Whale Fjords, leading you to Hvammsvik Hot Spring. Here, you can immerse yourself in the perfect combination of geothermal water from 1400 meters below the surface and seawater from the nearby Atlantic Ocean. This extraordinary blend of water forms a continuous flow that cascades between pools, spills over their edges, and returns to the ocean, guaranteeing exceptional water quality and purity.

My friend and I (two women) visited Iceland for the first time, and here is our experience with Nice Travel/this tour: We started off from our Greenhouse hotel to enjoy some Rye bread and boiled eggs made by the earth’s heat, followed by a trip to Kerid Crater, Geysir park (where we got an opportunity to eat lunch), Gulfoss waterfalls (we learnt about the legendary Sigríður Tómasdóttir who saved Gulfoss from corporations), the Pingvellir national park (where we learnt how the Tectonic Plates are actively moving apart) and then to Hvammsvík spa (easily top 3 moments of our Iceland trip). The experience was paced well, as we got to experience every place and take our time, take pictures, learn about the place and observe Iceland’s landscape. Our tour guide Bjarski was knowledgeable, helpful and taught us a lot about Iceland’s history and geography. He showed us what Icelandic hospitality looks like — leaving an overall positive impression of Iceland and Nice Travel.
An absolutely wonderful day seeing amazing geological sites in magnificent Iceland. Our guide Elias was incredible, providing history and anecdotes throughout our tour. We ended our day in the magical Hvammsvik hot springs spa. Such an otherworldly experience!
We had such a great time on this tour. It was a great combination of visiting the Golden Circle and finishing the day to relax at a hot spring. Atti was very charismatic, entertaining, and provided a lot of fun facts connected to Iceland. The big highlight of the trip was spending the visit at the Hvammsvik hot springs. I felt so relaxed after the tour.
The tour was unforgetable, and the guide was excellent. Bear shared interesting stories and useful information with us.
Our guide was fantastic! Gave tons of information along the way to all the sites. The views were breathtaking and the stops were perfect. Plenty of time to see the sites.
A trip of a lifetime. I highly recommend nice travel our tour guide Lorrie and Addy we’re so knowledgeable and personable, they made the trip extra memorable
Such a great tour. The golden circle was beautiful to see and our tour guide Atti was very entertaining, informative, and had a great icelandic playlist. The highlight was definitely the Hvammsvik hot spring as it was a great way to unwind and relax after visiting all the sites. Highly recommend doing this tour with the hot springs addition.
Great day. The hot springs were for sure the highlight. Wonderful.
We had a wonderful day with this tour. Bjarki (Bear) was a very knowledgeable guide with some fun stories. The Gullfoss waterfall was incredible and the Pingvellir National park fascinating but the absolute highlight was finishing our day at the Hvammsvik Hot Springs. These hot springs are not as busy or commercial as Blue Lagoon and as such very enjoyable surrounded by nature. Highly recommend this tour.
Wow what an amazing day! Our guide was absolutely phenomenal. I really think the tour was great but I don’t think I would’ve had nearly as great of an experience without him. His knowledge and love of Iceland was just amazing!! (His name means bear but I don’t know how to spell that.) Being picked up and dropped off at our hotel was such an amazing convenience that I can’t even put it into words. My favorite was the ending stop at the thermal spa. It wasn’t too busy and the people were so nice! It was also just incredibly beautiful and the water was lovely. I would go back to this spa a thousand times again. A great way to end a busy day. Highly, highly recommend this tour and especially with “bear”!!!
Walter was an amazing guide! It was an unforgettable day seeing Iceland.
A great day with an excellent guide, thoroughly recommend
Elias was an amazing guide. He was full of information and facts the entire trip!
Gold cost tour will never be fun without Gulli, our guide and driver. Very attentive, informative, and friendly. 5 star service 🤩
We had an unforgettable day on the Golden Circle and Hvammsvik Hot Springs tour. The itinerary was thoughtfully arranged with good timing for every stop. Soaking in Hvammsvik hot springs was such a therapeutic experience after sightseeing. Our driver and guide Gulli was absolutely fantastic. His driving was calm and steady, he shared abundant local knowledge, and he was kind and friendly throughout the day. Everything was arranged smoothly. We loved this tour so much. Huge thanks to Gulli for making our day perfect!
Part of a 2 day trip. Today was great day with Maria as guide. She was relaxed and informative. Enjoyed the geysers, waterfall and the spas at Hvammsavik at the end capped off the day. Maria gave appropriate time at all the stops and good advice about negotiating the craziness at the lunchtime restaurant. Blue skies and mild weather certainly helped.
We had an awesome experience with our wonderful guide Maria! It was a seamless day with many spectacular sights to see. We loved our visit to the geysers and the hot springs.. A wonderful day 🤗
Had a great day with Maria. Very interesting and educational on things Icelandic. Would recommend the trip as a must do in Iceland.
Maria was amazing! Very informative, kind, jolly & helpful. We took the Golden Circle and ended with Hvammsvik spa, it was truly a memorable experience. Length of visit per site is a bit tight though but understandable.
We had a fantastic day - spectacular scenery and the most wonderful tour guide, Walter: funny, informative, and passionate about Iceland. We felt so lucky to have him. Highly recommend the tour!
Valtir was our guide for the day - The Bus President! We thoughly enjoyed the whole trip. The stops were all well timed and convenient and we didn't have to walk extra. He allocated generous time at all sightseeing spots. He was extremely entertaining and friendly. Rolling along the landscape listening to his curated playlist was definately well worth the trip, it was a great intoduction to Iceland and Icleandic Music. Overall, a great day!
This tour was one of the best we have ever been on! Not only did we get to experience amazing Icelandic culture and locations, our tour guide, Monica, also shared historical information and interesting stories during our drive to the various sites. She was knowledgeable, friendly, and engaging. It was amazing to be able to see so many things in one day, and end the day at the beautiful spa. Thank you for an amazing experience!
Nice Tours are awesome, Filip was awesome!!! I highly recommend booking this tour if you have one day in Iceland. Get the extra package with the visit to the hot spring, so relaxing and rejuvenating to end the day.
It was a brilliant tour and we’d do it again in a heartbeat. Our guide, Pawel, was simply brilliant and we’d go on another tour with him in a heartbeat. Thank you so much for the wonderful tour.
Exceptional experience with Filip as our guide. He was so pleasant to listen to and kept us engaged the entire 11 hours. As a bonus, his music play list is fantastic. He also checked in with everyone to make sure we were comfortable. The stops we made were stunning and we didn't feel rushed. Plenty of restroom facilities as well. Great experience!
Very nice trip. Everything was magical and much more fun with perfect guide - Filip. Amazing guy who really enjoy his job and spread his joy with other people. Great guide, great time, great DJ in bus. Please give this man a rise. Greetings for your Filip
What an outstanding day tour this is, provided by Nice Travel in Reykjavik. The ticketing and meeting went smoothly, everything on time. The tour guide was AMAZING!. Well informed about the places we visited and communicated with us in English perfectly well. Dominica has a great sense of humor to go along with her knowledge and the extra care she took to assure all passengers were comfortable and safe. We couldn't be more pleased.
Bear was AMAZING! So knowledgeable and actually passionate about what he tours. And very competent! And he looks like Ryan gosling!
Excellent overall. Guide was amazing and friendly. There was a lot to pack into a day - two hours at the hot springs may not be enough time when it’s busy there.
Great day ending at Hvammsvik. Saw a lot in a long day but very glad we did it. Guide was great, too, as were the other participants.
Would give 10 stars if we could!!! Our guide, Arnar, was EXCELLENT!!!! The stops were fantastic, and he even managed to convince Mother Nature to give us PERFECT weather!
Loved the tour, well paced and fun atmosphere! Addi is great :)
My mom and I had such a great time on this tour! I was a little worried that such a long day out would be tiresome, but everything was so well-paced and planned. We never felt rushed or bored and there were lots of opportunities for snacks, lunch, and toilets. Vlad provided us with a lot of laughs and good information. Finishing the day at Hvammsvik was icing on the cake. We had booked the Comfort option, which provided us with towel & water shoe rentals and we ended up renting suits too, which I highly recommend. That way you don't have to bring anything extra. We would do this again, for sure!
Such a great experience! Bartosz was a wonderful guide!!
Christina was an AMAZING guide and my husband and I had the best day experiencing the Golden circle! The time spent at each stop was perfect, and we loved every one. We also appreciated the tips and options Christina gave us at each stop. Although the group was small (<20 guests) it was great to be given a choice between hiking and a more chilled experience at each site. The highlights for us were seeing a double eruption of Strokkur and being able to swim in the ocean before relaxing in to Hot Springs at Hvammsvik!
Great tour with lots of stops and sites to explore. Our tour guide/driver, Siddi was very funny and shared lots of information on each site visited and Icelandic culture. First stop was at Hveragardurinn Geothermal Park, where we learned about the town and the boiling water under it. We got to see a small geyser release and eat a hard boiled egg and rye bread that uses the boiling water in the ground. Next visited the Kerid crater, which has a beautiful pond at its center (the midges or gnats are plentiful here), then went to the Gullfoss waterfall, which was one of the most powerful and largest I saw in Iceland. Next we visited the original Geysir Park (where the name geyser was originally coined), which had a lot of activity, followed by going to the Thingvellir National Park, where we walked between the North American and Eurasian tectonic plates. Siddi allowed plenty of time at each location to explore and made himself available to answer questions. Last stop was to Hvammsvik Spa. Beautiful location, with multiple small pools at various temperatures built into a hill to look like small natural springs surrounded by boulders, with the lowest one an actual hot spring located in the fjord that disappears at high tide! Great excursion!
This trip was well-organized and beautiful — a must do if you want to see a morning a short amount of time! We loved the experience, and our guide Jonas went above and beyond to create an energized, welcoming, and fun day.
Comfortable mini-bus. Very accomodating tour guide who picked us up along the way (we had great difficulty finding the "official" pick up location)
Full day of beautiful sights, and a special SIX STAR award for our tour guide Walter, who was fantastic and entertaining! The last stop at the spa was a highlight of the trip! Highly recommend getting shrimp sandwich to go as it was loaded with shrimp on delicious sourdough bread. Butter kept the bread beautifully perfect, and you will be too tired from the day to go out searching for food! Super memorable day A++, worth every penny!!
Very busy but there was a lovely stop at the geothermal farm, we were shot of time due to the family from the cruise ship being late.
Only reason for the 4 was the bus. My husband is a tall and large man, making the day on the bus cramped and uncomfortable. Guide was informative, entertaining and great sense of humour. Sights were beautiful and the spa was amazing.
Absolute 5-star experience! If you are coming to Iceland, booking the Golden Circle tour is a must, but if you want it to be truly magical, pray that you get Elias as your guide! From the very first moment, Elias brought such an incredible, warm energy to the group. He isn't just a guide who recites facts; he is a masterful storyteller with a fantastic sense of humor and a deep, genuine passion for his country. Thanks to him, we didn't just see the breathtaking sights of Thingvellir, the roaring Gullfoss waterfall, and the exploding geysers—we truly felt the spirit of Iceland. Elias knew all the best viewing spots, shared fascinating local lore, and even gave us some brilliant insider tips that made the day extra special. He went above and beyond to ensure everyone was comfortable, entertained, and engaged throughout the entire trip. Bottom line: The landscapes were stunning, but Elias made this tour absolutely unforgettable. Thank you, Elias, for an incredible day and memories that will last a lifetime!
Absolute highlight of our trip to Iceland!! Everything was well planned, and the hotel was a pleasant surprise with a nearby food hall. Our guide, Lori, went out of the way to ensure we knew where to see the best views and even helped us find a puffin!! I wish we would have stayed with the same group for the 2 day tour, but having Lori both days made it worth it!! Highly recommend! Small group was perfect!!
The tour was very much as described and our guide Domenica was very engaging and knowledgeable about the sites and the history and culture of Iceland.
The golden circle was spectacular, even when driving between stops just staring out of the window was awe inspiring, but our favourite part was seeing where the Thingvellir nation park (Bloody Gate for GOT fans). Worth it just to stand between two continents with amazing views. The whole trip was made even more enjoyable wby our guide Bear who provide a lot of interesting facts as well as some sagas and a nice bit of dry humour. We would definitely recommend. Takk fyrir Bear.
Absolutely fantastic day. Nice sized group and got to see some of the best sites of Iceland with the expert narration of our guide. Highly recommended trip.
Absolutely amazing & must do tour! We chose the Hvammsvik Hot Spring over the Blue / Sky lagoon as it provides a more natural experience in the Whale Fjord & we were lucky enough to get a double rainbow. It's everything you want & more... You won't regret it.
The south coast and golden circle tours were amazing. Bear was a great guide!
Fabulous tour today! We stoped to see Icelandic horses and shared so much great information everywhere we went. He was a wonderful and caring driver for our small group and made sure to answer all of our questions. The best part was finishing the tour at the spectacular hot springs! This is a tour I wouldn’t miss!
