Great experience! Wonderful facility with nice staff. The views and experience were perfect after a long day of hiking and sightseeing. My wife and I thought the experience at the Sky Lagoon was more intimate and they had provided better changing facilities/showers than the Blue Lagoon. Just our opinion.
Don’t wait until the day before you leave to experience this… so you can plan a second trip… as soon as we entered the lagoon, it was heaven on earth… So relaxing… so clean… everything was run / maintained well with no lack of staff to assist. My only thing I missed with the ride / time booked is that we booked for 5pm and understood that’s when we would be picked up from our hotel… luckily it was only a 15-20 min ride.. When you book with a private transfer, make sure you understand the pickup time and that the time you book is for when you should be at the Sky Lagoon. There’s a swim up bar too, so plan accordingly so you can relax with a drink.. alcohol or non. We’ll be back!
My 21 year-old daughter I enjoyed several hours of hanging out in the lagoon and taking the cold plunge not once but three times! It felt wonderful and so did the seven step ritual which we completed. Highly recommend if you’ve never done something like this before, but I don’t know if I would pay to go back again unless I was bringing new people. Our tour drivers were right on time very cordial.
We really enjoyed this experience. We planned it half way through the week we spent in Reykjavik and it was amazing! You could organise directly with the driver on the day as to when you’d like picking up but we found that 10;30-14:00 was plenty of time to relax and do the 7 step ritual. It is incredibly clean everywhere and the staff are lovely and welcoming. My favourite step was the clod mist room but all of it was just breathtaking! I’ve never had a spa experience like it!! I liked that they encourage you to unplug from your phone (hence no photos with the review) because it was so peaceful. You could do everything at your own pace and stay in each stage as long as you like.
It was last minute booking that ended with a last minute minor schedule change with some miscommunications that almost ended with not experiencing the 7-Step Sky Lagoon. I give high remarks to the transport department. They confirmed and on time. Our driver was very polite and friendly. I worked and with Jo at Marina Travel to sort and confirmed the schedule change. Overall, it was a great experience on our last night tour in Iceland. My husband and I were very grateful. He can’t wait to return during the summer. I highly recommend the 7-step ritual.
Very unique experience with nice facilities and spectacular view. Private shower and changing room. Two hours seemed like perfect amount of time, but you can stay longer. Strongly suggest bringing water shoes otr flip flops as all surfaces between lagoon, sauna, steam room are extremely slippery!
Great spa very close to Reykjavík. We chose to get a taxi ourselves. Was around £20 each way. The spa itself was spacious and not over crowded. The rituals was ok. Enjoyed the sauna and cold dip. It was extremely foggy when we attended. You could not see anything of the surrounding views but it added to the enjoyment. We went in the evening. Worth going if you are in Iceland
Spent a wonderful day at the lagoon. The seven step cleansing process was fantastic. The pool was crystal clear and very toasty. The staff was very helpful and courteous I would recommend the sky lagoon for a quaint & recording day of relaxation.
This is one of the coolest places I’ve ever been. The hot springs are clean and clear. The views are amazing. Everything is just perfect. Don’t miss this truly special experience if you are in Iceland. You start off just floating around in the pools of beautiful hot water, enjoying cocktails and a spectacular view. Then you move into the spa treatment which consists of a cold plunge, a sauna with the most incredible view of the ocean through a giant glass window that is so clean you can hardly tell that it is there! A cool mist to cool down then a salt scrub and steam. You leave feeling refreshed relaxed and revitalized!
It was a great experience, from beginning to end. The drive to the Sky Lagoon was easy and quick. The Lagoon itself was fabulous. They have thought of everything. We enjoyed the lagoon as well as the 7 step ritual. The only thing you need is your swimsuit and a credit card. They have lockers, towels etc. and you get a wristband so you can leave everything in your locker. Most people had their phones with them we used a waterproof device holder, as did many others. It made taking pictures harder sometimes but was worth it (they also sell them). Two hours was enough for us although I would love to go back. I had wondered if I’d be so relaxed I would not want to go to look around in Reykjavík, but it was actually energizing, so don’t worry about that. We had planned on going late afternoon but our ship had bad weather and cancelled our tour so we booked this tour last minute and 9 am was a great time. The cafe looked nice and there is a small gift shop. We could have enjoyed the cafe but were anxious to see Reykjavík.
Visited here on 09.13.2025 for fun and relaxation. Although there are several hot spring type spas around Reykjavik, and I've visited the most famous other one, this one is at the top of my list. The location is not far from the city center like the other one, but we took a cab to get here because it's easy. The place has a calm aura upon arrival. The staff was friendly and easily accessible for questions. We did the private dressing rooms with the 7 step ritual. First, you go into the hot spring to begin your journey after getting dressed into your bathing attire. Then you exit to the spa ritual experience, which moves you through the sauna, salt scrub, steam rooms, showers, and ends with a nice refreshing tea shot. Then you can head back into the hot spring for more relaxing. They have a bar there that offers a variety of alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks. Fyi, the alcohol has a 3 drink max, which I assume is for your safety. I chose a non-alcohol based drink, and it was delicious nonetheless. Also, the dressing rooms and shower areas are nice and clean. Afterward, you can stop and have a bite to eat or drink in the cafe and there is a small gist shop. Checking out was easy and conveniently self-service. I would definitely recommend visiting here if in Reykjavik, but just know weekends will likely be busier days, and it's recommended to make the reservation online.

Better overall experience than the Blue Lagoon. If you are short on time, we would recommend going to the Sky Lagoon instead of the Blue Lagoon. The Sky Lagoon is easier to get to, less crowded and generally less expensive.

Absolutely wonderful experience. A must do if staying in Reykjavik as it is only a 10-15 min ride from city center. The driver picked us up in our hotel lobby and set us up with the return transfer instructions. We choose the private shower side at the lagoon and it was very nice and worth the extra in my opinion. The lagoon was wonderful and peaceful even once it got a little more crowded. We loved every minute of it!

Sky Lagoon is off the charts cool. Our family really enjoyed relaxing and soaking in the amazing views. Highly recommend this one of a kind experience.
The experience itself was well managed and super relaxing. I chose the private change room and everything was clean and staff helpful. The ritual itself was incredibly relaxing so I would encourage you to really take your time and immerse yourself. I had cocktails in the lagoon and ate at the cafe and both were great. My private transfer was on time and the driver really polite and friendly.
A wonderful excursion to try while in Iceland. The entire experience was a outstanding. Wish we had booked a longer stay. We were there with 8 close friends and they all enjoyed the experience.

This was a magnificent experience. Driver picked me up right on time. Everyone at Sky Lagoon was so friendly and helpful. You received private changing/shower accommodations and a locker - plenty of towels and everything very clean. If you want to keep your phone, I recommend you purchase the waterproof phone case they have on site for purchase. The views were incredible and the seven step ritual very relaxing. The sauna overlooks the water through a wall of glass. The swim up bar had ample offerings and they have a restaurant/bar/cafe on the inside of the premises. A different experience than the blue lagoon, both great in their own way. I would highly recommend!
Travelled in style to and from the Sky Lagoon in a luxurious Tesla driven by the lovely Ziggy. Sky Lagoon is a beautiful, serene place. I definitely recommend the Sammas experience, cubicle showers in a lovely, steam punk urban inspired changing rooms. The Lagoon itself is breathtaking. You enter via small steps into the warm, clear water. Then wind your way through the steaming water, between lavarock seats until you reach the affinity edge where you can gaze across the bay and to the snow covered mountains. There is a bar in the Lagoon serving a large selection of drinks. When you are ready, you are guided through the seven step ritual which is invigorating and relaxing. In the sauna you can gaze out of the picture window to the bay and mountains. When you are ready to leave the Lagoon, the cafe and bar area offer a selection of delicious foods, drinks and pastries. An all together luxurious and relaxing experience not to be missed

We had a brilliant morning at the Sky Lagoon - the taxi picked us up from our hotel spot on time and when we were finished we contacted Marina Travel to see if they could send our return taxi an hour earlier than planned and they did without any fuss - very impressive service from the company and its friendly drivers. The lagoon was great fun - the water was much warmer than we had imagined. We had a good swim around followed by a drink at the swim up bar and then did the 7 step ritual - well worth paying extra for this. Watch out for the fun police in the sauna :-) - no talking allowed in there - so be sure to shhhhhh! If you're visiting Reykjavik I'd recommend this trip in a heartbeat - great memories
This is a can't miss experience. Our private transfer was comfortable and the driver was incredibly nice and flexible with pick up time. The Sky Lagoon itself was nothing short of amazing. We participated in the seven step ritual and then spent the next few hours watching the sunset over the ocean from the lagoon. The drinks at the bar were delicious and the entire atmosphere was so relaxing. I'm already planning my next trip back.

From the excellent pickup at the cruise port, to the relaxing experience at Sky Lagoon, it was wonderful. We enjoyed the private changing rooms and lockers, the 7 step experience and leisure time in the lagoon. The weather changed and we were easily able to get picked up a bit earlier. Overall, we would do it again.

went here with my wife prior to heading out on a 5 day hike into the highlands(laugavegur trail) and we totally enjoyed the experience. from the moment we slid into the warm water a huge smile came across our faces. we did the 7 step ritual which was so relaxing and also refreshing.the sky lagoon is very clean and all aspects of the experience were first class.if you are in reykjavik and you have time it is a must do!!! can't wait to go back someday and do again.
If you have been to blue lagoon before and have a high hopes , don’t bother with Sky. Good points- 1) changing facilities very clean , 2)most staff are nice , although a couple of staff felt like as if they didn’t want to be there 3) a nice sauna Bad points- 1) staff “forgot” to remind everyone the saunas room is supposed to be quiet , we had a good relaxing moment until a couple of big tour groups came in chatting loudly with each other . 2) thermal water not hot enough , it was just warm 3) wine glasses not being cleared away fast enough , people just left their glasses everywhere like a crowded pool party , in fact it could be quite dangerous 4) steam room too small , people had to stand and even you got a seat ( like myself ) you felt like you can’t’ stay long 5) around the steam room and cold shower areas the floor was quite hard / rough to walk on barefoot…
When visiting Reykjavik it's worth a visit to Sky Lagoon. The 7 Step Ritual is an amazing experience and the Lagoon itself is like a warm hug! Having the private transfer made the entire experience stress free from start to finish.

First, this is just about Sky Lagoon, we did not use this company for transfer. The Lagoon warm baths are great, after shower and putting on bathing suit, a sheltered walk to the water, which is uniform in temperature, and maybe a bit cooler in separate section. the seven step sauna experience is great, first a cold dunk, then sauna, not so hot onloe levels, but great viwe of the waters around there, then misty shower, cool, and gritty (slat) rub to defoliate, followed by steam bath and regular shower to clean it off, with reentry ot the spa baths after. There is a ar and nice section at he wall to make you think it goes on forever. For us tis was a great visit to get over long flight and lack of sleep.

It was definitely an INCREDIBLE experience. We went twice. Once on TA and then by ourselves and TA was cheaper. The experience on the ritual was fab. Notes U need swim wear or they make u rent it. U can take your phone and at the water bar they sell water proof bags to put them in. The technology with charging to your arm band in wonderful and very helpful. The second time was just as good but so much of a surprise. Icelandic people love their hot pools and so did we. Busy times are 4- to around 6 as people go after work Blue lagoon pools weren’t open at this time due to the volcano covering the road with lava but we didnt feel at at all like we missed the experience e
We LOVED this experience. We booked the 7-Step Ritual, and every step was lovely. Really enjoyed the full body scrub and the geothermal pool, especially with a glass of champagne. I will definitely come back!
Our driver picked us up exactly on time at our hotel. The car was new, clean and the driver was pleasant. Sky Lagoon was not overly crowded, checkin was smooth and they gave us all instructions. The Lagoon was very nice and loved having a swim up bar. Locker rooms were clean and safe, even included hair dryers. We stayed 2 hours from drop off and pick up which was plenty for us. Very nice experience, would do again.
My recent visit to the Sky Lagoon had its ups and downs, and I’d like to share my experience to help future visitors make informed decisions. **The Good:** The lagoon itself is absolutely stunning. The tranquil waters and scenic views create a relaxing atmosphere that’s hard to beat. The swim-up bar was a highlight, offering a unique and enjoyable experience. The locker rooms were well-maintained and convenient, making it easy to store belongings securely. **The Not So Good:** However, I must point out some significant issues we encountered. The floors, especially in the locker and shower areas, were extremely gross and slippery. This posed a safety hazard, and I would strongly recommend bringing slip-resistant shower shoes to avoid any accidents. **The Disappointing:** The biggest letdown of our visit was related to the 7-step ritual package. I had booked our visit several months in advance and specifically chosen this package. A few weeks before our trip, I received a message via WhatsApp informing me that the spa was undergoing renovations and that our package would be downgraded to the "light" package. Initially, I was understanding of the situation. However, upon arrival, we overheard other guests discussing their 7-step ritual packages, which had not been canceled. It became clear that the renovations had been delayed, and the full package was available to guests who had booked more recently. This was incredibly frustrating, as we had not been contacted about the change in availability. It seems only fair that those of us who booked early and were initially downgraded should have been given the option to reclaim our original packages before they were offered to new guests. Overall, while the lagoon itself is beautiful and the experience could have been wonderful, the mismanagement of the 7-step ritual packages left a sour taste in our mouths. I hope that the management will address these issues to ensure a more equitable and enjoyable experience for all visitors in the future.

So surprised at how much I loved this lagoon. When You think about Iceland, you think blue lagoon… this place is of equal caliber in my opinion. We landed in Reykjavik around 9:30. Gave ourselves enough time for a transfer at 12:30. Spent the day at the sky lagoon. Perfect start to our trip in Iceland. Possibly even helped w/any jet lag…. Highly recommend if planning to see some amazing memorable lagoons. Beautiful!
