Vlad was a fantastic tour guide! He was very attentive to details and always made sure everyone understood the directions, especially when we were hiking and needed to figure out which path to take. He would even run ahead to show us the right way and make sure nobody got lost. He was always helpful, well-prepared, and shared lots of interesting stories about Iceland along the way. You could tell he really cared about making sure everyone had a great experience. Really enjoyed having him as our guide!

Itinerary
First up is a visit to a very scenic waterfall called Glanni in the tranquillity of the Bifrost area.
Take in the sights at Deildartunguhver, the highest-flow hot spring in Europe, providing 180 liters pr second of 100@C hot water! Thread the path carefully while watching and hearing the powerful energy of the hot spring at work.
Enjoy an unforgettable visit to the Sturlureykir Icelandic horse farm. You can get as close as you want to these beautiful friendly animals and then enjoy some home made "hot spring bread" called rugbraud in Icelandic with a nice cup of coffee or ice cool water.
Next you will stop at Reykholt historic site. There you can learn a little bit about history of Iceland and see Snorralaug – small hot spring used by local people since 12th century. This place was first mentioned in medieval writings of Snorri Sturluson -the famous Icelandic poet and politician who used to bath there.
You will see the great Hraunfossar, a series of waterfalls spread at a distance of around 900 m. The waters flow out of the Hallmundarhraun, a lava field that was formed around 1000 years ago during a massive eruption of volcano lying under a Langjökull glacier. Hraunfossar are very often called “Lava Waterfalls”. Rivulets streaming from the lava field create one of the most breath-taking views in Iceland.
Just few meters away from Hraunfossar you will find another interesting waterfall – Barnafoss. Its name, “the waterfall of the children,” comes from an accident tale which is said to have taken place here in a previous century. There was a natural stone bridge over the waterfall, and two children from a nearby farm fell to their deaths crossing the river on the bridge. Afterwards, the grief-stricken mother had the bridge destroyed.
The highlight of the tour is a visit to a colorful Vidgelmir Lava Cave. Just shy of 1600 meters the cave features amazing colors and lava formations that lurk in the depths of the earth. During this 1,5 hour long expedition you will have a chance to see one of the largest lava caves in Iceland with its stunning lava stalactites and stalagmites. The area surrounding the entrance to the cave will allow you to realize how powerful eruptions of volcano can be.

My husband and I went on the one day Silver Circle tour with Nice Travel. We selected the Canyon Baths option instead of the Lava Caves, so our tour was actually called "Silver Circle | Day Tour to West Iceland with Canyon Ride & Secluded Thermal Baths," although there were people on our bus who were doing the Lava Cave version. We had a wonderful time. We particularly enjoyed the Lava Falls and Barnafoss waterfall, as well as the Husafell Canyon Baths. We were so lucky that only one other guest had chosen the canyon bath activity, so three of us had the baths all to ourselves, which was an amazing experience! Our guide was Kiki (Kristof). He was informative and interesting. He shared some great stories, such as telling about the 13 Santa Clauses and their scary mother, Gryla. He helped to make the day extra special. We enjoyed it immensely.
Guili was a knowledgeable (Reykjavik history), fun guide with a great sense of humor. I appreciated the nearby pickup location and dropped of at my hotel. Small group of 7, made the tours quick, easy and relaxed atmosphere. Spent a quite of time driving towards the “Silver Circle” area, but was worth the visit on this trip. Thank you :) -Julie, CA, USA
A safe, informative and fantastic day out with Sammi our guide. Any bus was very comfortable with Wi-Fi and charging points. The Icelandic horse farm was enchanting with an informative presentation, the opportunity to groom and feed the horses and the home-made rye bread tasting. I had a terrific day
Waterfalls, hills, and horses. The views were great and the horse farm was so much fun. Be sure and pet the dog who is in charge and demands belly rubs. The waterfalls were beautiful. It was quiet and not overly crowded.
Maria was our day tour guide and she has been lovely and keeping the day lively and fun! The Hraunfossar waterfall is amazing!! Do remember to bring your tripod and ND filter for that view :) The adventure inside the lava cave was one of a kind — learned so much from our guide Owen there about how it’s formed, and the pitch black experience inside the cave was mind blowing 🤯
Best trip of our holiday: waterfalls, hotsprings, horses (and dogs) and the lava cave. Maria the guide/driver/historian was excellent...really friendly and gave so much information. Nothing was too much trouble.
This was the absolute best tour I have ever been on. Maria was just awesome! She is not just a tour driver you can really tell she has a passionfor what she does. She was so much fun! I highly recommend this tour and if your lucky enough to get her you will love it!
Guide was awesome. Great trip.
The best guide we’ve had since being here. So personable and informative.
Lori was a perfect tour guide and driver- so apologetic when he accidentally hit a bump on our way. He offered to take our pics, and we had enough pit stops for bathroom breaks and picked our food.. Highly recommended company.
We had a wonderful experience today! Laury our tour guide, was very knowledgeable, friendly, and made the entire tour enjoyable from start to finish. He shared so much interesting information along the way and made everyone feel comfortable and welcome. The horse farm was such a fun and memorable part of the day, and overall the entire experience was very well organized and enjoyable. We’re so glad we booked this tour and would definitely recommend it to anyone visiting Iceland. Thank you, Laury, for making our day so special!
The guide was thorough, entertaining and made sure we all had a great time! The horse farm was a real treat and the cave tour was beyond existing!
This tour is exceptional. Its in a nice size smaller bus with a great guide, Hendrick. The geothermal springs, horses, waterfalls - its all magical. But the lava cave is the star of the show! Its totally doable even for slow walkers. I'm just 8 weeks post hip replacement surgery and it was doable. Highly recommend
We had an amazing day on this tour! The stops were amazing and well planned. We saw beautiful geological features and learned more Icelandic culture. JK was a fantastic guide- knowledgeable and enjoyable. The minibus was very comfortable with wifi. Would definitely recommend!
Every stop on this tour was wonderful and made the experience so memorable! Our guide, Bart, made it even better with fascinating facts, Icelandic history, stories, and great culinary recommendations. Everything was well organized, informative, and fantastic from start to finish.
Thoroughly enjoyed the country side and a stop to see the Icelandic horses. Even a taste of hearty rye bread backed in the hot earth on the farm. Plenty of spectacular scenery on this tour as well.
We had a good day ,our tour guide Bartosz is very helpful and nice
Addi was such a great and knowledge tour guide! Super funny, too. My sister was sad when I said our other tours are likely with a different tour guide. The canyon baths were also amazing and all the waterfalls gorgeous. Highly recommend!
We had Christina as our guide for the day and she was absolutely lovely. Very knowledgeable, organized, funny, and kind. I really liked how the trip was with a small group (less than 20 of us), and all the stops were really neat. Especially loved the horse farm, you could feed them unlimited hay.
Extremely interesting tour, lava cave was incredible and well worth this tour just for that. Icelandic Horse Farm was interesting and a real highlight was the geothermal area. Pick up was chaotic and was late, communication from company is not the best when compared to other operators who inform you in advance of the tour guide and registration plate of your pick up vehicle. Better communication would have avoided the chaos at the start of the day.
Everything was great; the horse farm, the cave and waterfalls. The guides were informative and had a great sense of humor. Dominique, our driver, was charming, helpful and made a long trip home easiler.
Dominica, our driver was very personable and funny on her commentary on our way to our sites. We were a group of 8 and highly recommend her . This was definitely an action pack day. The end of our tour at the lava cave was exceptional. Our Lava guide was packed with Information! EOIN we absolutely loved you and your tour. and had the best time.
David was a great driver and guide. The entire experience was really beautiful. Just be prepared for the cave, it’s very very cold. Extra layers will be beneficial.
This was a great experience! The pickup was seamless, my tour guide was knowledgeable about the country and landscape. The highlights include: the gorgeous waterfalls and the Icelandic horses (not ponies!).
Wonderful tour with a variety of activities, nature, horses and lava cave! Filip was a great guy, and crafted a wonderful soundtrack of icelandic songs to complement the astonishing view and get a taste for the culture!
I had such a wonderful time! Great Icelandic vibe on the bus, that was super comfortable by the way, and such a relaxing pace. It you want to experience amazing views and uplifting mood, then his tour is for you! I highly recommend !
We had a great time and Addi was a blast! Highly recommend the tour and our guide
Such a brilliant tour to do. It’s our 4th holiday in Reykjavik and having done so many other tours opted for this one to try something new. We were not disappointed in any respect. The sun was shining and it was a great day. Bjarki was a great guide, made the day really relaxing, interesting and fun. Even managed to fit in an additional stop, a lovely piece of modern history, even though he wasn’t able to beat the Paddy Haynes stone lifting record!! The day was full of highlights, made extra special by us being the only visitors to most of the sights. Wouldn’t hesitate to go again on this tour with Nice travel.
This was a great tour. It was a good mix of sight-seeing and experiences, including the scenery while riding on the bus. The waterfalls were beautiful and we visited some points of interest, however, the highlights were visiting the horse farm and the lava cave tour - both a great deal of fun and a wonderful experience. It was nice to stop for lunch at some point in the day; and given the weather, we were grateful not to have to drive and just relax on the bus, especially after the long day. Would definitely recommend.
My son and I just finished our 2 days tour with Kristof and I want to take a moment to share how grateful we are for the amazing stories he shared, his sense of humor making the raining days more bright and on top of that he was a safe and very skilled driver, which makes the difference with the unpredictable weather in Iceland
The tour is well organized. The guide worked hard, friendly and hospitable. Although the bad weather, the tour didn’t cancel
Guill is a good guide! Thank you so much!
It was great. Authentic village did not have a lot of value. Like horses, lava cave and the waterfall. Lunch at the water fall was very weak Glad was awesome. Very knowledgable, positive and very helpful. He also was a great driver
We have used Nice Travel several times in the past and they are always exceptional and have earned the name “nice travel”. Very trustworthy and selective with their staff. The Silver Circle was incredible - especially seeing it in the Winter. Waterfalls, horses, caves….so much to see and experience! We weren’t sure what to expect with the cave, but it was beyond our expectations and the guide was exceptional. Definitely a memory maker. Thank you Nice Travel!
Everything about this tour was simply amazing! Hard to choose the best part - the horse farm was so much fun and hard to leave, the waterfalls were stunning, and the cave experience was something completely out of the normal with a wonderful guide.
Excellent tour! This was a great itinerary and highly recommended. We were lucky to have Addi as our guide and really appreciated doing this tour in the winter for the views and ideal lighting. Photos don't do any of it justice - it is really breathtaking in person to see such grand and powerful waterfalls. The thermal spring was a nice stop - the colors really stood out against the steam and overcast day, the horse farm was both interactive and educational, and just when you think the experience can't get better, there's the lava cave. The location itself was gorgeous with the snowy lava field and the tour exceeded expectations. Our guide was fantastic as he guided us through the cave to learn about how it formed, the history, and pointed out unique features. Visiting in February also meant stops were not crowded. The whole day was a fascinating, scenic, and educational experience. For reference- this was our 2nd trip to Iceland and both times we were staying in Reykjavik without a rental car. Our 1st trip was for a week and did the recommended of day trips from Reykjavik -- Golden Circuit, South Coast, and Snaefellsnes Peninsula. This was a quick trip and with the reduced daylight hours, I think this tour was perfect with the unique and scenic options.
Silver circle - Great day trip from Reykjavik, a bit quieter and more off-grid than the golden circle. Beautiful waterfalls to rival Gulfoss. Lava cave is incredible! Icelandic horse farm stop is lovely. Our fun Nice Travel guide Walter was a historian which was great - Norse history and Valhalla were highlights! Brilliant day, brilliant company!
This is a great day out. Guide was very knowledgeable and engaging. The visit to the horse farm was great. Great family. The waterfalls and hot springs were awesome and coming out of the lava cave in the middle of nowhere was ‘out of this world’
This was a very interesting and unique tour! If you're interested in seeing Iceland off the beaten path and meeting more locals, this is the tour for you. I loved visiting the horse farm, the owners were all very nice and enthusiastic. Bear was a fun guide and you could tell that he really cared about this tour and what he did.
Gulli was a fantastic guide. hilarious and full of stories
Having an Icelandic tour guide was really important for us as we felt we got a more authentic experience. Each place we visited was brought to life through Icelandic eyes which was a definite PLUS (and we enjoyed the local stories and humour! too!) The stop offs were all interesting and varied. We loved meeting the Icelandic horses and learning about the geothermally powered farm where they live - so interesting. Before leaving, we got to try the local rye bread cooked in an underground oven - it was delicious. The lava falls were pretty special. A real highlight was the trip up to the canyon hot springs at the end of the day. Very simply done with maximum sensitivity to the environment. We were wondering whether we had made a mistake by not booking the Golden Circle tour but feel we’ve perhaps got to know a bit more about this beautiful country by choosing this tour. Would highly recommend if you are interested in getting a little bit more under the skin of a place.
Our driver/tour guide was delightful and punctual. As well, he was knowledgeable, funny and communicative - giving us a full experience for what was most of our day (8a to 8p).
Beautiful tour of the untouched side of Iceland. Fantastic scenery, waterfalls, horses and a magnificent cave. Is it. Could not fault the tour which was made all the more pleasant with our driver and guide Addi. He made the trip so interesting and added in some humour as well. A perfect day out. Thank you.
Trip was great. Especially lava cave and Icelandic horses farm. And amazing views of waterfalls. Our guide Walter was very welcoming, great knowledge and storytelling. Best tour guide we had out of all our trips in Iceland 🏆
This was a wonderful day, just what I needed. Our guide was Gulli and he was great, funny and informative. I’m so glad I chose this trip, we were a group of 8, and a few more at the Canyon baths. It was so nice to be in a small group, and the places we visited were so calm and not overcrowded like many other tours from Reykjavik. Highly recommended!!
This was my first your in Iceland...I went in mid-January. Gulli was a great tour guide and driver. He talked about Icelandic history during our drive...a lot of which was in the dark. I loved meeting some of the horses and seeing some gorgeous scenery. The only somewhat negative for me was the Canyon Bath portion of the trip being a bit stressful for me. I am not comfortable walking downhill on snow/ice, but am very thankful they provided crampons and walking sticks. My advice is to pack light for that portion of the day! Overall I had a great day, thank u!
Gulli was very informative and enthusiastic about the tour.
My Friend and I had a wonderful experience doing the Silver Circle tour with our guide, Lori. Lori was very friendly and knowledgeable—he also tried to fit in as much as possible to our tour when possible (for example, stopping for additional scenic photo ops between a couple of our stops). The waterfalls were beautiful, and the lava caving was really neat / special. I do think we were spoiled by going in the low season — as hardly any people were at the stops we went to (which for me made it more enjoyable! )
Tour was absolutely brilliant plenty to do and see we have been blown away by Iceland and this trip thorri was an excellent guide and very friendly and knowledgable Thanks again
