We had a lovely experience! The water was crystal clear, the views were incredible, and all the staff were so patient and lovely. It’s a unique experience for sure. Whatever you do, don’t forget to bring socks to wear in the water – if you value your feet! 😂

Itinerary
We will pick you up in Reykjavík and drive you to Thingvellir National Park. During the one-hour drive, your guide will provide you with information about the unique geology and cultural history of Iceland and Silfra as well as the surrounding area of the UNESCO world heritage site. Once your group of max 6 people has been formed, your guide will give you your drysuit, warm undersuit and snorkeling equipment. Your guide will explain how to use this equipment and how to ensure that you will be warm during your tour. You can change in our heated Changing Van and the guide will help you with putting all the gear on. We recommend wearing long underwear and thick socks. The briefing and gearing up takes approx 1 hour. You will walk 5 minutes to Silfra and start your 30 - 45 minute snorkeling tour of Silfra Hall, Silfra Cathedral, and Silfra Lagoon. After snorkeling in the cold water, we warm you up with hot cocoa and cookies. This is your chance to chat with your guide.

It was such a cool experience! Emilio was the absolute best!! So knowledgeable and made us all feel so comfortable. We would definitely recommend.
A definite bucket list trip. The guides are so great at giving information and keeping everyone at their ease. The water was so clear it was amazing. Despite being only 2 degrees I wasn’t cold as the dry suit and undersuit do a great job. Our guide Nail was wonderful. The hot chocolate at the end was much appreciated.
This was the best experience we had . From being picked up to arriving on location . Our guide Will was amazing si reassuring I felt very safe with him. The snorkelling was the best thing I have ever done the views beneath the water are breathtaking
Jana, our driver, and Alex, our guide in the water, were absolutely excellent. Informative and humorous, they steered us through all of the processes. It is, at first, pretty nerve-wracking getting into the suits and the water, but once the opening jitters subside, you are in the midst of an undoubtedly amazing bucket-list experience. Highly recommended is an understatement!
Amaaaaazing! Absolutely loved it and would do it again. Great guides to work with, especially Jana. Took great care of everyone in our group. When I was floating along it felt like I was on another planet. Highly recommend!
It was a great experience. Guide Veli was great. Honestly, it is a lot of prep for a relatively short snorkel experience. 45 minute ride to the site, waiting for your turn and getting geared up takes quite a while, then waiting for your turn among lots of other groups using one launch pad was a lot. It's fun, it's gorgeous, it's invigorating, the DIVE team is great. Definitely do it!
This was an awesome experience! The whole crew was awesome, so helpful. Being over 70 they went out of their was to make sure we were comfortable with everything. The dry suit experience was easier than I thought but if you are claustrophobic you should think twice.
I hope this review reaches out to Konrad, our fantastic guide who deserves acknowledgement for his great job. Other than that, on the site there was written that during the transfer from Reykjavík to Silfra, some geological explanation would be done. Unfortunately, this was not the case; but other than this it was a fantastic experience.
The experience itself is great and our guide Hanna was outstanding. However, our pickup was thirty minutes late. When we got to the site, it was a mob scene. Our tour was booked for 1pm, but didn’t enter the water for almost three hours. We stood in line with full gear on for two hours. It felt more like the lines at Disneyland than anything else. Icelandic capitalism at its finest. So disorganized and chaotic. No one wants to acknowledge that it’s just way overbooked. 6.5 hours from start to finish with a thirty minute snorkel. Just not worth it.
My wife and I did a silfra snorkel on 8/11. There were roads closed in Reykjavik which made us late by half an hour but the crew on site and our driver were amazing. Lynn and Emil were educational, charismatic, and hilarious. Lynn took us out and it was a beautiful swim. She was awesome and the swim was awesome. Thanks Dive.is!!
Shenae was a great guide and prepped us for everything needed. Such a cool experience. Also ended with a tasty hot coco. Everyone from start to finish was helpful and fun.
So much fun!! Amazing experience! My guide was the absolute best!!
Friendly and patient DIVE.IS crew/staff/guide/drivers. They know everything like the back of their hand, and they come ready to equip you with everything you need to get in the water. Hot chocolate and cookies to round it off at the end. Tip: Make sure to use the restroom BEFORE you put on your dry suit, since putting on and taking off the gear is like prepping for a moon walk (bulky and tight!) and requires help. Also your guide will take some photos throughout, and you’ll have the option to purchase them.
This is a very unique experience. Initially a little chaotic with multipke people at various stages of check in. Go with the flow snd when you connect with your guide use him/her in dessing. Personally, I think some snorkeling experience is best.
Unreal experience. I wouldn't advise anyone with new or sensitive ear piercings to go as the hood is very tight and can irritate you ears. Staff are so friendly and helpful
Our guide Isabella was so fun and we could tell that she really knew what she was doing. The atmosphere was fun and lively, but since it does require some safety precautions it is not something I'd recommend for people with claustrophobia or those fearful of the ocean. We felt completely safe with our guide and it was exhilarating to have this once-in-a-lifetime experience!
We had a fantastic time. Pick up offered at a stop near hotel. Perfect. The experience was outstanding. Our guide/diver Anaiza was perfect. Explained everything. She was with us the entire time.
Very well organized but in a friendly, helpful way. Was not as cold in the water as I expected. Just amazing
Our snorkel guide was Jenny, she was absolutely amazing and took care of every single need we had during this experience. She made sure our gear was on correctly and that our masks and snorkel were fitted properly! This was a big deal for me because nothing ever fits me right and she took the time to make me feel at ease with the whole process of dry suit and wetsuit! My daughter is a geologist/teacher and this has been on her bucket list for over 20 years! She and her husband and I had the best time and would highly recommend it! Thank you, thank you!
Great experience not to be missed. Changing facilities leave a lot to be desired (back of a van). Other than that would I recommend, in a heartbeat.
Wow... incredible experience. Once in a lifetime. You did not need any snorkeling experience or even know how to swim. You float very easily. They pick you up in a warm bus, drive you to the place, you get fitted for your dry suit and they help you put it on, then you waddle down to the water. Even with the dry suit, it was FREEZING so definitely wear WARM layers underneath and thick socks. My suit did not leak anywhere except around my head but not enough for it to be a problem. The water is incredibly clear and calm. No fish or anything but you can see forever. It is very cool. You have an area inside the bus to change out of your wet clothes if needed and bundle up and it is heated. They served hot chocolate afterwards and the pictures turned out SO cool. Loved the experience.
Wow! What an incredible experience! The staff was friendly, professional, and helpful from pick up to drop off. We were given all the equipment needed and received excellent safety guidance prior to entering the water. Shout out to Quim, our snorkeling guide. One guy in our group of 6 was struggling/panicking a bit. Quim was so patient, reassuring and kind. He problem solved on the fly and gave us all an experience we’ll never forget. Quim also took some outstanding pictures that I’ve shared with anyone who will look!!
I had an excellent time with James the pick up from my hotel stop was easy and the instructions on site for snorkeling were clear and the instructors did a great job of securing my dry suit. It was an unforgettable memory.
A once in a lifetime experience would highly recommend it. Our driver James was amazing and so lovely. For the Snorkelling I was in Konrads group and he made me feel so comfortably especially since i’ve never been snorkelling before. The weather wasn’t the best but the guides were outstanding with making sure we were all safe and calm when going into the water and after. If you’re going to Iceland i’d most definitely book this,, the best experience!
This was one of the best things we did in Iceland. The pick-up was smooth, small group, no drama. Our guide was calm and reassuring and you felt very safe the whole time. Yes, it’s freezing. You know that going in. But once you’re floating there, it’s just surreal. The water clarity is unreal. It genuinely feels like you’re flying. Floating between tectonic plates is not something you do every day and it really did feel like a once-in-a-lifetime experience. Expensive, yes. Worth it, absolutely.
What a great experience! Snorkeling between the tectonic plates was amazing. The guides were amazing, my wife was a little nervous, but they assured her it would be great. We went in February and thankfully it was warm outside, about 34 Fahrenheit. The coldest part was waiting to change into the dry suit. Once in the water it was comfortable in the dry suit.
It was great snorkeling! If you are uncomfortable with tight clothes the dry suit is very tight around the neck and hands. I was worried about being cold but in the end, only my hands were cold.
I had an amazing experience that I am so glad I did. I was nervous about the water temperature beforehand, but the dry suits we were provided did a decent job of keeping us warm enough (it was cold, but not unbearable, and certainly not as bad as I thought it would be). Also, the dry suit made me incredibly buoyant, so I barely had to swim at all (you don't have to be a strong swimmer to enjoy this experience). The clear water allowed for amazing sights of all the impressive geological features below. The water is so clean and clear of any pollutants that we were told its completely safe to drink (I didn't try it, personally, but others said it was very refreshing). Overall, I thoroughly recommend this experience.
Wow wow wow. What an experience this is. We went as a family and all loved it. Will our guide was amazing and so helpful. He really did go above and beyond to make sure we all had an amazing time. Thanks.
Amazing our guide Nails (not too sure if I spelt it right) she was amazing! Very helpful on what to do. The water was so very clear you could see right to the bottom with no issues. Very cool experience and the hot chocolate was great too!!
Trip of a lifetime! Great guidance from our French instructor, we all had a great morning ;-) Thanks.
Doing this in the winter was another level of adventure. They supply the warm onesie, the dry suit and all the rest of the gear. Come dressed in your good thermals and bring a few pairs of warm socks. Getting the gear on can be uncomfortable but the reward is absolutely amazing. An unforgettable experience!
Awesome and unique experience. Highly recommend. Our tour guide Diogo was super fun and knowledgeable. Had a great time.
The whole thing might sound scary but it's a really once in a lifetime experience. The drysuits really do keep the water and cold out plus you'll really float along so there's no danger there. And the views of the Silfra fissure are just spectacular. Also have to call out our guide Diogo who was fantastic throughout the day and made the experience all the more better.
Anneska was the best tour guide and teacher and she made the trip so much fun and informative! Highly recommend
This was an amazing trip right from pick up. The views and the sunrise as we drove from Reykjavik to Silfra were incredible. When we arrived everything was explained clearly and was well organised. It’s a bit tricky getting into the suits inside the van when everyone is in together but worth it for the experience. I had some issues with my mask but the guide was helpful and tried to sort it for me. Top tip is to wear good socks and thermals as this will keep you warm under the dry suit. It is truly beautiful and clear under the water and definitely worth seeing. Wish we had more time to look in the area around the lake as well but that would be my only slight issue.
Amazing experience! No where near as cold as I was expecting! Visibility was great. All the guides were super fun! Had fun with us, each other and other groups. Would love to do the deeper dive next time!
This was such a cool experience!! It was freezing the day I went, but I warmed up pretty quickly with the hot chocolate they provided after. I got the tour with the add on of the photos but I saw that you could pay to get them after the tour if you didn’t book the photos originally. I definitely recommend bringing an extra pair of warm socks & warm thermals to wear under the dry suit!
The experience was fantastic! Anticipation of the cold water soon passed when we entered the water. Gabe was a great guide & all the additional help/prep for the swim was top notch from Dive.IS!
This was an awesome experience! Pick up at my bus stop and travel to Silfra we smooth and relaxing. The guides were really friendly and knowledgeable. It was my first time in a dry suit and they walked you through all the steps and helped. They were also really clear with instructions and how the snorkeling experience would go. There was plenty of time allotted and it didn't feel like you were being rushed through. I believe my guide was CG on 12/3
I enjoyed the experience. It was smooth from pickup to putting on the gear, getting instructions from the guides & snorkeling to returning back to my drop off location. I thought I would be cold, but the dry suit kept me warm... and dry. The water was beautiful and I definitely recommend.
No picture or video can ever endevour to be quite so spectacular as this experience. The real life precision and preciousness is remarkable.
Great experience and everyone was so helpful and friendly! Shout out to Jana our guide, she was amazing and so caring about the people and their safety
Jana did an amazing job of leading our group and making sure we all had a safe and fun time! Highly recommend her as a guide and this outing was cold but worth it!
Hugo was my groups instructor. Great communication and excellent organization. Felt ready to take on the adventure and it was a success!
This was SO cool! I had never snorkeled before so I was nervous but all the staff were super nice and reassured me. My guide Gabe was very fun and made sure everyone in the group was having a good time, whoch I much appreciated as a solo traveller. And my driver James was very kind and made sure I had a comfortable trip to and from the Silfra. Highly reccommend for such a unique experience!
Don’t think about doing this, just do it! You won’t regret it. A 5 star experience from start to finish.
Great day snorkeling. Our guide GC was very knowledgeable and patient. I wish I would have worn 2 pairs of socks but for the most part I was able to stay warm.
My tour was cancelled when I got to the site. It was so disappointing but totally understandable as the weather was poor. They're the professionals, so I was content with their decision as safety was the main concern. Prior to the cancellation we were dropped at the site and one of the guides sent us down towards a Dive.is vechicle and pointed out the toilets. There was no room in the van as there was people getting changed to go diving. We had no where to go, so had to stand out in the rain and the wind. There was myself and 3 others and we got soaked to the skin. Eventually we got shelter in the van, but it was too late by then. We waited for our driver to return, before the miserable drive back to Reykjavik in our wet clothes.
