Incredible experience!!! Our guide, Kaya, was so helpful and lovely. She helped us get our gear on quickly and ensured we were well-informed and felt safe throughout the entire activity. The snorkeling was unreal. The water was so clear, clean, crisp and beautiful. Amazing!!!

Everything went smoothly from pick up ( which we were late for) and the snorkeling Everyone was absolutely amazing and extremely patient. I was a little concerned about doing this due to the cold weather, but I am so happy we chose to do this as a family. Highly recommended

I had the pleasure of snorkeling with Ines in a wetsuit in the Silfra Fissure. The pick-up and drop-off from Reykjavik were seamless. My diving guide, Ines, set very clear expectations for a wetsuit versus a drysuit. While I was a solo traveler, I was in a group with 3 other people, and unfortunately one young woman didn’t take her advice to heart. You have to REALLY want to be in a wetsuit to choose that option. My feet were numb, face was numb, but I survived! It was a bucket-list item that has been checked-off in the best way. I was thoroughly impressed with not only Ines’ preparation but also how she pivoted to keep the entire group safe while one person had a panic attack in the water. I would highly recommend Adventure Vikings as consummate professionals.

This was a great time! Enough mix of exciting and funny to keep it a fun experience. Anil was a great guide and kept us all feeling very safe and secure, explained the experience well before hand so we all felt prepared. Suit is right around the neck on land, though in the water the air in the suit makes the feeling go away- a very cold but great time! Hot chocolate after made the experience too :) photos after we’re both beautiful and hilarious.

Silfra snorkeling was absolutely spectacular and Ines was a fantastic guide! We had a fabulous time and would recommend it to anyone.

Be early for pick up. Here in Iceland, on-time is late. Everything is taken care of. Wetsuits and insulation provided worked perfectly. Hands and face a different story. The experience was surreal and a must do for adventure lovers.

Gretar made this experience better than I could have imagined! Be patient, it takes some time to get prepared for 35 degree glacier water, but once you are in, it’s magical!

Guide was Nebos and he was amazing! I have always snorkled in warm waters and it was my first time in extreme cold water. It was both exhilarating and not for the light hearted. Although I have swimming experience and love open ocean bodyboarding, this was very eye opening. I did struggle a few times after the start and Nebos was very helpful in making sure I was okay and made sure I was feeling okay and ensured me everything would be alright. His patience helped me calm down and continue to enjoy the spectacular views underwater

I'm glad I did this, it's a cool thing to do and there's nowhere else in the world that you can. But - it's truly so cold! In winter, you need a dry suit (the wetsuit wasn't on the table when I got there), and dry suits are pretty uncomfortable. And there's not a lot to see once you're in the water. However, as a bucket list, once in a lifetime experience, absolutely worth doing and I would recommend.

This was easily one of the most interesting and fun experiences I have had. Our guide, Grétar, was great! He was knowledgeable, helpful, fun to speak with and a great help in the water. I chose to use a wetsuit and asked him to help instruct me to dive and take pictures and he was more than helpful and accommodating. The oictures i received are amazing too, he did a great job. I highly recommend booking this experience, and choose Adventure Vikings simply for the Wetsuit option. 100% worth it. Your feet will get cold, but the rest of you is so insulated I was surprised at how warm I was. Overall, great experience, fantastic guide, well worth the trip!

One of the best things we did on our trip to Iceland, so surreal to be between the two continents of North America and Eurasia. Though I started out calm and confident (having snorkeled in the Maldives before), I panicked when water entered my mask and completely forgot the guide's instructions. Thankfully, our guide Doris was amazing - she calmed me down, stayed by my side, and continue to take pictures for me to let me enjoy the tour. Later, my legs gave out near the end because I was simply too tired to kick anymore. She even pulled me the rest of the way so I could finish the experience safely and with dignity. Thanks to her patience, care, and professionalism, I not only completed the tour, but walked away feeling incredibly grateful. Thank Doris from the bottom of my heart for saving my life. I won’t be able to write a good review until I came back to Taiwan in Oct. Even in the cold winter, you can also enjoy the Silfra snorkeling tour with Doris. She will be there for you. Highly recommended, especially for nervous snorkelers like me.

Gretar was a wonderful guide. The company and website booking were alright, there was an issue with what locations were listed and thus selected, but they were not accurate and needed to change where I could actually be picked up based on the list. Overall experience with Adventure Vikings/Gretar was great. I was the only one in the group using a wetsuit and I selected AV because of this possibility. It was FANTASTIC and I highly recommend it! So much better than just floating in a drysuit and the wetsuit was perfect for the temp.

We took the Silfra diving tour with Dory and it was great. She had interesting facts to share throughout the dive, was informative, and even gave us recommendations for other things to do in the area/during our trip. The dive itself was super cool — got to see some beautiful sites. Compared to other tour companies who were also entering the water, our group was by far the smallest!

I had a really magical time on this tour! Wilmar is an expert and could answer everyone's questions, kept everyone together even when we were swimming at different paces, and did such a fantastic job with photos. You stay warm even in winter in the gear, although your face will be cold! This is a once in lifetime experience and I highly recommend!

Great Experience! Gretter was super helpful, very knowledgeable about the beautiful country. As he drove us he gave us great knowledge/facts of the wildlife and plenty of information of the country’s past and how it gained its independence. The host plus the exquisite Silfra Snorkeling is definitely worth it. Highly recommend.

Great once in a lifetime. Our snorkel master, Alex, did a fantastic job setting everyone up with the gear needed. He did all the work getting the gear on us properly and securely so there were no leaks of cold water. He guided us into the water and we had a great time. He was funny, thorough, and caring. Easy floating and breathing with a relaxing time in the water. Our driver to and from the activity, Gretar, was prompt to all pick up points, very pleasant, and got us there early. He was back to pick us up as soon as we were ready to go and provided some nice cultural facts on the way back.

I did this as a woman solo traveler! It was so so easy and really cool. Everyone was incredibly kind!

I couldn´t pick a better occasion to snorkel for the first time! The full experience was very well organised, everything run smoothly - from pick up to drop off. The “snorkelling tour guide”, Wilmar, was just amazing – super helpful, friendly and always aware of our group and what and where we were going and doing for the full duration of the snorkelling session. Regardless if you are an experience diver or a beginner, I highly recommend this experience with this company and Wilmar. PS and cherry on the cake, after being in 2 degrees Celsius water, you get the BEST hot coco with mini marshmallows ;)

Snorkelling at the Silfra Fissure was such an incredible experience. Wilmar was absolutely fantastic and reassuring throughout the whole as experience! The water was crystal clear and the dry/wet suit ensured you stayed warm the whole time. Would 100% recommend to anyone!

It was an amazing experience! The water wasn’t cold at all in February- mild day outside especially with your gear on! The tour guides are excellent and made my first snorkeling experience a great one!

Wilmar was an excellent tour guide. Very personable, and quick to crack jokes. He even went the extra mile to know our names and get to know us. This natural attraction is stunning! I would totally recommend. Whatever you do, don’t let the thought of the cold water scare you away!

Very cool experience to snorkel in crystal clear water between tectonic plates! There's very little life in the water, so don't expect lots of fish or seaweed. The suits they provide makes you very comfortable in the cold water, and the guides are great. Worth doing!

Prepare to be awestruck as you snorkel in the crystal-clear waters of Silfra Fissure. Our tour with Viking Adventures was greatl. Wilmar, our guide, was so much fun and caring. He ensured a safe and comfortable experience to our group. After our snorkeling adventure, we were treated to a nice cup of hot chocolate. The experience was truly unforgettable. It is a must-do for anyone seeking a unique and awe-inspiring adventure in Iceland.

I truly enjoyed this experience ! One of the best things I did in Iceland. We had a good introduction to snorkeling with Edgar and Wilmar, with the Silfra map and snorkeling tips. Wilmar was our snorkeling master and we had an amazing time! He was patient and took loads of photos. The hardest part was changing the dry suit in the cold but other than that we had loads of fun and I highly recommend ! Thank you Adventure Vikings for the incredible experience :)

Me and my friend where a little late to the meeting spot and the guide Edgar was super understanding and told us not to worry about it. He was an amazing tour guide and would recommend to other travelers. He’s also a Spanish speaker in case you only speak Spanish.

Dori was an excellent guide. We were very appreciative of the additional base layer under the dry suits. She gave extra care and attention to our dry suits fittings to ensure we stayed dry in the water. Although the water was 2°C, the only part of us that got cold were our faces and hands, but not unbearably so. The crystal clear water and geological marvels were a once in a lifetime experience. The hot chocolate and GoPro photos were an amazing bonus to what was a great experience

Amazing! Our guide Nebo was wonderful. Let us take our time through the swim and took amazing and such clear photos. He is also a northern lights tour guide so even gave ua recommendations for when we would most likely see them. Due to weather we even got the tour to ourselves which was so lucky and amazing! Thank you Nebo for such an amazing experience!

Definitely a beautiful and unique experience! We went in December- we were freezing, to the point the water felt warm. Definitely a struggle but Edgar pushed us through, was patient and very helpful. Once in a lifetime experience, but you need to mentally prepare for that cold (in December)

We were looked after by Edgar on our snorkelling trip today. We had an amazing time, he was so friendly and made sure our small group was having a great time. He made an effort to get some nice photos for us, and made sure we were happy / comfortable each step of the way. Absolutely recommend - don’t be put off if you’re considering doing it in winter. Once you’re in the water, it’s comfortable and the temperature is definitely bearable for the time you’re in it. Definitely recommend extra socks / hand warmers for your feet. There’s nothing you can do about your hands unfortunately but it’s all part of swimming in glacier water. The dry suits feel very secure, but not too restrictive for those who are a bit claustrophobic. They not only keep you warm, but they’re also very buoyant so If you’re not the best swimmer, it’s not a problem! If you’re on the fence - just book. You won’t regret it ✌🏻😁
