Northern light are not guaranteed. I had a very good trip. I gave it 4 of 5 because I didn’t get to see the northern lights. However, I had about 4 other excellent tours.

Isra was a fantastic guide. He was fun, knowledgeable and made us feel safe. I would highly recommend having Isra as your guide. We went in a group of 6 people. It's was 45minutes to an hour, you can do longer. 10 out of 10 experience except for feeling like my fingers were going to fall off from being cold LOL!!
This was the most amazing experience I ever had. The drive to the national park is amazing. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable. The place looks like is out of this world. Definitely recommend it.
Absolutely the best tour/activity I’ve ever done. Our guide for the drive, Lucky, was so knowledgeable and sweet and played terrific relaxing music when she wasn’t giving us such great Iceland facts. Israel, our guide for the actual snorkeling was so patient, kind, and funny and was always making certain that everyone was safe and comfortable. If you only do one excursion, it should be this one!
Awesome!! So much fun, well organized. Our guide Jampy was extremely nice, explained everything well and was very patient when I got things wrong. This adventure made my trip!! I even saw a fish.
Had an amazing experience with Arctic Adventures, checking off a bucket list memory. The experience was even better having Marta “Panda” as our tour guide. She was so knowledgeable and fun, making the best hot chocolate on top of creating the greatest experience for us!! Thanks Marta, come visit us in Canada!
It was really beautifull under and above the water! Also it was totally fine with the suit! I really loved how professional Laura our snorkeling instructor was! She was super kind and helpful. Also we really loved Ivonna our driver she was so cool and we loved that she was knitting while waiting to pick us up again.
What a fabulous experience the water is so clear. Our guide Panda was excellent and supportive. Lots of checks on our equipment. Getting the dry suit on was a workout 🏋️
I attend 9.17's tour with Fernanda as our snorkeling guide. I'm the only one that takes snorkeling for the first time. Fernanda pays some more attentions to me, and it turns out that this tour is not that hard to me as a normal level swimmer. Taking on dry suit is a little bit difficult, but guides will help you with that. The view you will see is amazing, I think I will take some more snorkelings in future if I have a chance (maybe in some other places).
From the moment Nils from Arctic Adventures collected me from the meeting point, the experience was exceptional. He provided detailed instructions and expectations for the afternoon. He explained the areas, shared stories of Iceland and played dramatic Icelandic music that complemented the landscape. He guided us to the base for the Silfra fissure snorkelling and introduced us to Jenny, our exceptional guide for the underwater experience. Jenny was outstanding, assisting us from preparing for the snorkelling to the extraordinary underwater atmosphere. All care from Nils and Jenny was exceptional.
Excellent first time snorkelling and wearing a dry suit. My guide for the experience was Laura, who like all the staff I met, was very friendly and helpful. All my questions were answered and everything felt safe but relaxed. The equipment was of good quality, I wasn’t too cold after being in the frigid water for around 40 minutes. The actual fissure is truly unique and beautiful, truly worth seeing.
Our Guide was Laura and I can't compliment her enough! She was new to the team and was in Thailand prior to Silfra Fissure. She was so kind to everyone and made the experience even more incredible. She said she was planning to be there throughout the winter. Coming from Thailand that is quite a change. She was a 5 out of 5 points! Highly recommend!!!
The two of us went snorkeling in the Silfra Fissure. Our guide, Nail, was fantastic! She took good care of me when I had trouble breathing due to the very tight suit. She took plenty of time, explained everything clearly, and kept an eye on everyone. I really appreciated that she checked on me several times while we were snorkeling to make sure I was okay! The only thing that bothered me was having to wait so long for our turn—and doing so while already fully geared up. We went in the Morning which was good. After us it was way more fuller with people waiting etc.. The Fissure was Amazing! We had the best Weather with Sun! If you never have done snorkeling before maybe it is not the best Place to do it for the first time...
Be prepared to change into snorkeling gear outdoors. It was raining when we were there so it is difficult to keep your regular clothes dry. The instructions by our guide were excellent, and the water temperature does not feel uncomfortable with the gear provided. Wonderful experience.
Aleks was a great guide, very knowledgeable and made the experience enjoyable, would recommend 10/10.
Had the most incredible experience snorkeling the Silfra Fissure!! It was truly amazing and our guide Nail was beyond fantastic and went out of her way to get the best pictures of me and my son together! It is definitely a “don’t miss” experience.
Fantastic experience worth every penny. Huge thanks to Flor for being an amaizing guide!
Well-organized, exciting activity. Helpful guides, equipment keeps you warm and safe. The fissure is beautiful. Not scary.
Marcelle was an awesome guide! Knowledgeable, supportive, caring and funny. Good kit and well organised. Go with at least half an hour to spare as parking is quite busy and it's a ten min walk back to the start point
This was experience was the shining star of our trip to Iceland. Aleks was a great guide, patient, well experienced and best of all fun. We arrived a little late due to needing to acquire thermal layers, but they were very understanding and got us quickly setup and in the water. Afterwards we were pleased to find our photos and Aleks took some really great photos. Wish we had time to do this again, as I think this is one of those once in a lifetime experiences worth doing twice :)
Snorkeling in the fissure was fantastic!! Yes, the water is cold, but very manageable. My hands got wet and cold, but not my feet (with two pairs of wool socks on). We went a few days after the total eclipse on Aug. 12, 2026 so there were a lot of people visiting Reykjavik. We waited about an hour to get in the water. Once in it was so cool! It would be good if you’re comfortable with snorkeling so you can enjoy what you’re seeing. But I enjoyed it very much and I’ve only snorkeled a few times. I really loved the part at the end where they let you explore the area right next to the exit stairs for about 10 minutes. We arranged to be picked up at a bus stop that was listed on the Arctic Adventures site. It worked well. And our guide took pictures and we got a link to them right away. Free!
It’s quite intense. Beautiful, but intense. Best to go in the morning, to avoid crowds. Our guide was very sweet. We were the last two from a bigger group, so we kinda got a private tour four ourselves. It was nice! The weather was very good as well!
Fantastic experience, definitely worth going and experiencing nature at its finest. Well organised and very safe.
Awesome! My favorite adventure I have had in Iceland! The water is so clear, and the features other-worldly. Highly recommend, don’t miss it. Valentina was our guide, and her instructions were as crystal clear as the water. If you’re concerned about the cold, as I was, don’t worry: the gear is top notch, and I felt more than warm enough the whole time.
Big thanks to Magnus and Nicolas! It was incredible experience! I recommend it absolutely 💯! Spectacular unique experience with professional support! Don’t be afraid of the cold water - costumes make it dry and warm to swim there
Book with the transportation included. The shuttle is new and clean and the experience itself was excellent.
Awesome experience, worth the whole trip. Like nothing I've ever seen, the crew very professional and our guide (gotta mention Fabi, hope thats how it's written) was very cool and made sure we felt safe at every step. Will definitely want to do again. Also its not that hard to get in the cold water
Amazing! I would do this again. It was such a unique experience!
We got taken around by guide Iliana and had a fantastic time! The snorkelling was amazing, easily the highlight of the trip. We were taken around in a small group of 6 and felt very safe and looked after. To my surprise, I had a little panic as it was my first experience snorkelling, and Iliana did a wonderful job of calming me down in the water and getting me back to the experience. Really impressed with her professionalism. Given we were part of the larger influx of tourists to iceland during the week of the eclipse, we had to wait a little longer, but it was well communicated and we were made very comfortable. The transfer was very convenient and Lily looked after us well. We were warned that the water would be quite cold, but I found it very comfortable, especially with all the gear provided
Ilya was an amazing guide! This was such a great experience as a Floridian couldn’t imagine doing something like this. I would definitely do it again
At the age of 71, I was really proud to have accomplished this snorkeling experience. All the Arctic Adventures guides were really attentive and working really hard on one of thr busiest days for them ( it was the Friday after the eclipse). All of Reykjavik was swarming. We had to wait sbout 2 hours once we were kitted up but the swim was really worth the wait, so beautiful , at first breathtaking..beware you don't choke as I did! Maya was our guide and she was brilliant, both in and out of the water, taking our photos and helping us gently where needed. Would not have missed this for the world.
Our guide Hernan was awesome and super helpful and attentive
Absolutely incredible!!! Tour guide Will was lovely, informative and very helpful for the more nervous participants of our group. Highlight of our entire trip. Would definitely recommend to friends
This is a very unique experience to experience. We did snorkeling as we don't scuba dive, however you are still able to see so much. The water is cold but the suits really do keep you warm. And the water is crystal clear. Very fun if you can snorkel and swim.
If snorkeling between the North American and Eurasian tectonic plates isn't already on your bucket list, it should be. The Silfra Fissure features glacial meltwater filtered through underground lava rock for decades—meaning visibility reaches over 300+ feet), and the water is pure enough to drink right through your snorkel. Our guide, Michi, made the whole adventure seamless. From double-checking every drysuit seal for safety to being very gentle to make sure any long hair didn't get pulled while getting suited up, to keeping the energy light and funny, Michi ensured everyone felt completely confident in the water. Pro Tip: Wear your merino wool base layers and thick socks under your clothes so you’re ready to slip into the suit right away. It's the coolest thing I've ever done!
While I didn’t see any whales unfortunately it was still a great experience with a lovely guide! If you are on the shorter side the seat can be a little uncomfortable as it’s basically a saddle and your feet will barely touch the ground. Also not the trip for those who get sea sick. Thankfully the company did give me a free ticket to come back and try again either there or in Reykjavík, which I did take advantage of, and luckily I did see whales the second time around!
We were lucky with the sunny weather. Added to the stunning colours. Beware in high season for a long wait. Tour pick up was 12:15, we didn't get in the water until 5. Also had people in Iceland for the eclipse. More people than usual. Our guide was very informative (thank you Jenny) and safety conscious and kept our spirits buoyed through the long wait. No prior mention of having to wear socks in the dry suit.
The guide (thanks Marta) and trip was great. The process is great for beginning snorkelers our rise with me experience. The guides are super helpful and informative. Four our of five for the thing itself. The place (tectonic plays) and incredibly clear water are very cool. But after that, there's not much to it. No fish. No interesting plantlife. I'm so glad I did it, but Ive had more fun snorkeling in other places, for sure. But the trip organizer was great - highly recommend!
First of all, Guide to Iceland didn’t warn me that I would need medical clearance if I had a history of asthma. I found this out right before the adventure, when I honestly disclosed that I had a history of asthma. The instructor was informed that my asthma is well controlled and that I’m very fit and active (I’m a HYROX/CrossFit athlete), but he still decided to ban me from the trip. Guess what? I did it today with another company, and nothing—absolutely nothing—happened! I could have done the entire lake again! This company not only ruined my day, but also refused to give me a refund. I honestly find this extremely disappointing and unfair.
Had an amazing experience in a group of 6. I didn't find it too cold or uncomfortable in the dry suit. The water was so clear. Ariana was an excellent guide.
Awesome! 10/10 recommend. Our guide, Israel, was amazing and so kind. Also, the hot cocoa after was delicious.
We absolutely loved this snorkeling experience! We had a wonderful guide Frananda who did a great job making sure everyone was safe and comfortable. The clearest water that I've ever seen. A real tick on our bucket list and highly recommended!
Great guide but other staff had a bad attitude towards the tourists. My daughter overheard them complaining about the job. Our guide, Arianna was new in the job and was amazing. We were lucky to have her as all the other guides were rude. It’s a shame because it’s a great activity and experience. Maybe look for a place with happier staff.
This is a must do if you are visiting Iceland. The pristine waters made taking a cold plunge worth it! Our guides, Ilia and Marta made the experience so much better with their expertise. Being able to see the silfra up close and float through such a beautiful space is something I will never forget.
This was the highlight of our trip. Amazing guide, amazing views, amazing, amazing, amazing. We were worried about being cold but it was the perfect temperature with our gear. They explained everything while still keeping things fun. We got great pictures. If you're on the fence, just do it. We will remember this one forever.
Did this for my birthday July 23rd and I’m so glad I did! A fascinating and unique experience. Funny from start to finish, from suiting up which was an experience in itself lol to getting into that ICE cold water, to the hot chocolate and cookies after. So happy to have had Marta as our guide, Marta was really cool, friendly and knowledgeable. Her instructions were super clear and I felt comfortable thanks to her. Overall an amazing birthday to look back on! Thanks Arctic Adventures, love the included photos!
A genuine highlight of our trip to iceland! A great thank you to Faby, our guide, who was the kindest and most mindful to make us feel safe. The price was a little better than other operators while being fully organized. It lasted, as stated when booking, about 3 hours.
I never leave mixed reviews but this one was a struggle. I didn't finish the 'course' but my son did. It was beautiful. When you arrive, you put on a thin full body suit type thing that is like a windbreaker had a baby with a snowsuit. Then you put on a thick neoprene suit with extended silicone wrist cuffs and another around the neck, and built in boots. We struggled to get it on and felt quite claustrophobic. Then we walked across the street to the line to get in, holding extra large flippers and an eye mask/snorkle. The line was super long, easily over an hour. I heard a rumor from one employee that there were 200 guests booked that day. Standing in the suit was literal torture, so much discomfort. When it was nearly our turn, we added neoprene gloves, ankle straps, and the snorkle mask. Then the flippers. We got a brief lesson on the two ways to be. Getting in the water felt great but I really struggled and had to be escorted back to the beginning once we got to the first shallow area. The guide seemed pretty upset with me. I am giving this three stars instead of one because everyone except me and my son seemed to do just fine. There was hot cocoa and cookies at the end but we were rushed to get back on the bus.
Hernan was fantastic!! He made us feel at ease and told us all we needed to know to stay comfortable and enjoy to the fullest! He was lots of fun and super nice too! Only suggestion is to set the right date on the GoPro. The wrong date makes photos super hard to find in your library! Really nice that they take these photos and share them with you because it doesn’t really work to take your phone camera. Recommend this incredible adventure you’ll treasure!
This was an unforgettable experience! We loved it. Our guide Marketta was terrific! My advice is to go early and enjoy!
