Unforgettable experience with our amazing instructor Nail! Our snorkeling tour was absolutely incredible, largely thanks to our wonderful instructor. From the moment we arrived, she was incredibly friendly, warm, and highly interpersonal, making everyone in our group feel welcome and comfortable right away. Before we got into the water, she took the time to explain all the safety and equipment instructions in great detail. She didn't just rush through the briefing, she carefully made sure that every single person understood what to do, which gave us so much confidence. If you get a chance to take a tour with her, you are in excellent hands!

Simply incredible!!!!! I booked the tour through GetYourGuide; the team took great care of us, and Marketa was our guide. It was wonderful. My tip is: don’t be swayed by how Silfra looks from the outside. Go snorkeling, enjoy the moment, forget about the water temperature (which you only really feel on your face and hands), and come away with a new perspective on the world. It’s an experience that shifts your sense of reality. I’d love to go to Iceland a thousand times, and I’d do this tour every single one of those thousand times.

This was a great experience. I was very nervous for how cold it would be, but with all the gear and prep it really wasn’t bad at all. Jenny was our guide and was awesome. Also, now I can tell everyone I snorkeled between tectonic plates for the rest of my life. Great experience, highly recommend!

Was great fun and genuinely a bucket list item ticked off. We snorkelled with Arianna as our guide and she was fun and very knowledgable and kept good watch and care of her group. The snorkel was great and the view was stunning and crystal(glacial) clear. Took our own action camera for photos and vids but they do take photos for you if they are able to. Dont be too worried about the cold it honestly wasn't that bad and after a few minutes you stop noticing it. Overall was absolutely worth every penny and is something we're highly likely to do if we come back to iceland again.

Don’t expect this to be a glamorous or comfortable experience but expect to have an amazing time. It was absolutely freezing, especially with the wind, hail and blowing sideways rail but my son and I had an absolute blast. Thank goodness for Jampy for saving my life a few times when I wasn’t able to swim across the current to the end. I wish there was a way to tip here on Viator or digitally without having to carry cash. Leave everything in your car or it will get wet if you’re going on a rainy day. Would highly recommend this tour if you’re able to swim!

We booked this tour on our last day in Iceland and it did not disappoint! Our guide Isra was incredibly helpful, knowledgeable and fun! Isra provided us with so much information about the tectonic plates, formation of the fissure in 2008 and snorkeling and diving! 10/10 you have to do this on your trip :)

Enjoyed my Silfra snorkeling experience with Fernanda! As I was doing this alone I really appreciated how patient, caring, and attentive she was throughout the experience. Fernanda and the other instructors helped in getting me into my snorkeling gear and Fernanda took the time to explain the safety procedures in detail, making sure I felt comfortable and well-prepared before entering the water. During the snorkel, she constantly kept an eye on everyone to ensure we were safe and doing well. Her attentiveness and professionalism gave me peace of mind and allowed me to fully enjoy the incredible experience of snorkeling between the tectonic plates. Thank you, Fernanda, for taking such good care of us and making this such a memorable experience! Highly recommend her as a guide for anyone planning to snorkel at Silfra.

An unforgettable experience! There is quite a lot of kit but our guide Ioannis took us through it all a step at a time and took great care to make sure we were all happy and comfortable. There were six in our group which meant we felt well looked after as individuals. The equipment was in great condition. Pay attention to the briefing they send you ahead of time - bring a thermal base layer like they tell you (some people didn’t). Being in the water for around 40 minutes didn’t get too cold at all, just slightly numb fingers but nothing terrible. Ioannis was really great! He gave our group nothing but confidence in his ability to look after our safety, and happy vibes! Do this trip, you will not regret it!

We had Laura and she was beyond AMAZING! Her professionalism and knowledge was outstanding. Her patience and kindness were even better. Without her support I would not have been able to check this off my bucket list. Thank you again Laura! You are a beautiful soul.

I did this snorkelling in Silfra this morning 5th october with Laura as a guide. She was fantastic : the most enthusiastic, funny and friendly of the guides. For the people who thing its gonna be too cold, no worries, with the equipment they give you, everything is perfect. I would definitely recommend this company. Thank you Laura for your time and the tchat we had about orcas in Norway :)

Great Experience! Nail was a great guide and made sure you felt comfortable! Your face and hands do get very cold but otherwise we stayed dry under the suit! The suit has air in it so you will stay afloat no worries.

Had so much fun snorkelling at silfra! All fees (national park admission fee and gears) included except for parking fee. Went around midday and we had 6 of us in the group. There were some wait time to get into the waters but the line had pretty quick turn around (<30 min). Our guide Jampy and the crew for helping to dress wetsuits were friendly and attentive. Would recommend booking with arctic adventures.

Had a great time snorkeling in Silfra! Fernanda provided great guidance and ensured everything went smoothly. It was a fairly small group, with only six people in our group, and we had around 40 minutes to snorkel. I brought my own camera, but Fernanda also took some great pictures for us. Overall, it was a great experience!

There aren't many fish in the fissure, but the water visibility is great and there are some interesting algae. Our guide, Valentina, was thorough in making sure we knew the route, had all our gear set up properly, and even helped people take photos and videos. There was no rush, and I felt like we had enough time to snorkel and visit the different areas of the fissure. The drysuit kept us completely dry and insulated from the 2-3 °C (35-37 °F) water and the hot chocolate at the end was a nice touch.

Had a wonderful snorkeling trip! From the outside it doesn’t look that spectacular but once you start snorkeling it becomes beautiful. Had an awesome guide Jenny, she explains the process, safety & suit very well and is very patient with people that struggle with listening or English!

That you’re actually snorkeling in the rift valley between the plates, not where you could touch each plate. I feel the photos are a bit deceptive. Having said that, it’s a fabulous activity!! The guides are kind helpful and knowledgeable. Also, I have not received the photos from the swim.

From the moment Nils from Arctic Adventures picked me up from the meeting point it was fantastic. He explained timings and expectations for the afternoon. He explained the areas, stories of Iceland and played dramatic Icelandic music matching the landscape. He took us to the base for the Silfra fissure snorkeling and introduced us to Jenny our amazing guide for the underwater experience. Jenny was incredible and assisted us every step from dressing in our suits for the snorkeling experience and the out of the world underwater atmosphere! All care from Nils and Jenny was exceptional. Nils also made at stop at Thingvellir National park which was a nice bonus. Thanks for the chocolate Nils, now I’m addicted.

We did the snorkeling tour on Monday 9/21 and it was amazing. Israel was our guide and he was a big part of what made our experience so good. Upon arrival, all the guides were friendly. They helped us put on our wet and dry suits and all the gear. I thought I was going to be cold when snorkeling or get wet but I was neither cold or wet! Israel took some group photos and individual photos while snorkeling. He showed us the best way to swim and to turn over if we got water in our mask or snorkel. I kept getting water in my mask and he was so helpful and comforting. The suit fills with air when you are snorkeling so you easily flit on the surface. The water is so clear and everything was so beautiful! Everything was amazing! I highly recommend this activity!

Will is the best guide, he was very helpful and thoughtful with helping assist putting on the gear and explaining the process of snorkeling. He made it an amazing experience and I felt comfortable and confident heading out with him as a guide. He’s the best!

I really enjoyed getting to see snorkel through the fissure! It was amazing to see! I have never snorkeled in such cold water so have never worn the dry suits before. My only caution is I got a little claustrophobic with the suit/ hood/ goggles/ wrist and neck straps all on as someone who doesn’t get claustrophobic. I think if I would have gotten a size bigger it would not have been like that due to the suit being so tight. But definitely worth it, so fun!

The activity was absolutely worth the money and an incredible experience, but what truly brought everything together was our guide, Marta (Panda). She was hilarious, friendly, and did an amazing job explaining everything clearly, so there was never any confusion. She also created such a comfortable and welcoming atmosphere that the entire group quickly felt at ease with one another. Marta really made an already great experience even more memorable. There are likely very few places on Earth that one could see such sights, and Arctic Adventures made it an unforgettable experience! From the start, our guide (shoutout to Iliana!) made sure we were briefed on all the safety elements and properly equipped for the elements. Do keep in mind that moving in the suit and walking some distance holding your fins can be challenging! The earlier time slots had a shorter wait with fewer people in line, but once we were in the water we had the most spectacular views of the fissure and the aquatic environment below. I did bring my own action camera, but the free action shots of you passing through the various checkpoints are great for sharing with your friends! There's just simply nothing like this experience, and I would wholeheartedly recommend it if you are interested!

Do this. Snorkeling in the glacial waters of Silfra is amazing. It is COLD, beautiful, crystal CLEAR water, and for me, a 'once-in-a-lifetime' experience. I don't like being cold, but they provide the warm insulator that goes over light thermals or yoga pants. Recommend a long-sleeved t-shirt (not a turtle-neck or sweater). You can layer up to get there, and easily change. You have a great team of helpers there to get you ready, a safety briefing on where you will go and what to expect. All of it is well orchestrated, so that you spend quality time "face-down" in the water! Absolutely amazing. Easy for nearly anyone, even if you haven't snorkeled before, you can likely do this with the guide. Our guide Maja was awesome. She took great care of our group of 3, plus another 3 (six total). For safety and coordination, the groups are small, and spaced out well, so you won't have other groups overtaking you. The clarity of the water, and seeing the fissure in person is just amazing. They provide a bit of history of the area and where you will go. SNORKEL SILFRA!! If you can do, go do!
