Our first tour was cancelled because of weather and they seamlessly rebooked us for the next night at no extra cost. It was well worth the wait! We saw the northern lights and it was as amazing as you imagine. Our guide was great—good energy, positive attitude, and shared a lot about Iceland. Would totally do it again.

It was a good trip and could get to see the lights. Driver was able to take us to the location where we could watch it.
Roman was amazing - great energy and the perfect locations : 10/10 recommend! The night forecast was perfect and the hot choc too!
We intentionally booked this tour so we would have a toilet available, if needed (something you may not get on smaller tours). We never needed it, but it was reassuring to know it was there. It's a roll of the dice as to whether you'll get to see the lights, and our expectations were low, given the weather that blew in and the cloudy skies, but we got lucky! After leaving Reykjavik, the clouds opened briefly and our guide seized the opportunity and got us to a great location where we were able to experience the lights, with plenty of time for photos and hot chocolate! Vick (Vicky, Victoria, Viktenstein...she answered to anything that got close to her real name that I'm not going to try and spell) pointed out where to look and how best to photograph. She was absolutely amazing! And absolutely hilarious! I would book this tour again just to listen to her. We tried other locations afterward but couldn't reproduce the luck we had at the first stop. Not to worry, Vick kept us thoroughly entertained the rest of the way! I highly recommend this tour!
We saw some lights, better with our cameras. Our driver, Roman, drove to several spots looking for lights. He was awesome at explaining the science behind them - very interesting. The hot chocolate was good too!
Very knowledgeable guide with great stories about the history of Iceland and the best places to find the lights, even in times with little activity. Our bus broke down in the middle (not to the fault of the company) and they handled the situation professionally.
Guide was funny and informative, as well as very thorough about searching out good spots to view the lights + helping people to figure out the best camera settings.
Didn't get to see the lights but Daniel was really knowledgeable about the conditions that should be present. Maybe next time the Aurora will come out to play. The booking is good for a couple of years according to Daniel
Too much time wasted on the hot chocolate and snack….the hot chocolate was watery too. Would have liked to have gone to more spots to see the northern lights. It was a bit disappointing. Description said 4 hours but we were back early.
We saw the Northetn Lights at two different sights. Aurora Whisperer Daniel explained best ways to see and how to set up the camera. Fantastic!
The tour guide Daniel was able to teach us the why behind the event. It was a well run tour. We enjoyed it.
It was my number one thing on my bucket list I wanted to see and we saw them so bright and vivid! Our guide was very informational and knew right where to take us! We also got to see a cool bridge where two continent tectonic plates separated and got hot coca and shark meet! Very much worth it!
This was a last minute booking for us! We were one another tour and had our guide look into the weather and KP rating for that night. We were in Iceland for the weekend only! The Northern Lights did not disappoint!! A BEAUTIFUL evening of lights that you could see with the naked eye as well as with our phone cameras! Although our bus did get stuck and we had to have a new one sent out, the memory is of the amazing views and not the late late night!! Our bus driver and guides were amazing and VERY helpful!!!
We did the northern lights tour on April 4, 2026. It was an amazing experience. Our guide, Jessica, was super knowledgeable and fantastic. Our driver drove us there safely. Even though there was a mishap, we are so happy that we get to see the northern lights.
We really enjoyed this tour. Our guide, Daniel the Aurora Whisperer, was a lot of fun, full of knowledge, and a good communicator. He even shared how to take good photos of the aurora. They monitored the weather, as well as the aurora activity, traveled accordingly, and did a good job trying to find the Northern Lights for us. And were successful! In fact, as we were heading back for the night, the driver spotted the Northern Lights again, even brighter than before, pulled over and had us get out to observe them once again. I was very grateful to get to see them. The surprise toward the end was also much appreciated. A bathroom break was also built into the tour. Of note, we went in late March and it was quite cold out there - and we had no wind that night! Hats, neck gaiters, good gloves/mittens, outer pants are a must!! Would definitely recommend this tour.
The experience never happened as the tour operator cancelled the trip and as we were only in Iceland for 2 nights and booked the trip for our second night there was no chance of another trip so tride for a refund but was unsuccessful sa there policy is non refundable so this company has essentially stolen money from hard working people.
Had an amazing experience got amazing photographs. Not many folk can say I love you to their partner under the lights. Our tour guide was Jessica and she was lovely + extremely informative about how the lights happen and the best ways to capture them. Hot chocolate provided also. Be sure to book this tour as we got an amazing surprise at the end! 😋 100% worth the money I'd have paid even more for this experience. Driver was very road safe as well. They definitely deserve the 5 stars given.
Was very chill group and great guides just did not see any lights. I would suggest before hand if the probability is low reimburse as it was a waste of money.
Daniel was an informative, amusing, professional tour guide. Villos (spelling? - sorry) was an excellent driver and we felt totally safe. The bus was comfortable and having a bathroom on board was good. They arrived on time and communication was very good prior to the tour. The tour took us to two locations. Daniel explaining the history of Iceland and science behind northern lights. The northern lights weren't spectacular but it was cloudy, however we did get to see some! The weather changes rapidly in Iceland and the seeing lights is at the mercy of the heavens. Thank you for a good tour! Would absolutely recommend and hope to be back someday to take this tour again!
After the weather cancelling our planned northern lights trip the day before, we were excited to finally get on this trip. Just wow. From the ease of pick up at our hotel on time, to the warm welcome from tour guide Daniel and driver Michael this was the most incredible experience. Daniel guided us through the conditions for the night which were all looking positive for sightings. We arrived at the first stop and the Aurora did not disappoint. We saw the most magical lights and had some incredible photos. We were told we were one in 200,000 people to experience the Aurora th way we saw it that night. Hot chocolate was great and we had a seamless drop back to the hotel. Daniel and Michael are fantastic and I would highly recommend this experience. Made even more so it was my partners birthday and he proposed on this day too. Just the best. Thank you 🤍
Magic Island Tours is a relatively new company with positive energy and high importance placed on customer satisfaction. Daniel was our tour guide for this incredible Northern Lights Excursion! He supplied us with so much interesting information and I was so impressed with the way he was able to help us all set up our cameras with great ease so that we would be able to photograph the Northern lights with the sharpest pictures possible. We were so fortunate to have been led to our very first location, which almost immediately allowed us to experience an incredible Northern lights display! It was so perfect that we didn’t need to relocate anywhere else! An absolute once in a lifetime experience! And to top it off, Daniel treated us all to hot chocolate and a little additional local treat at the end. The whole excursion was nothing less than magical and I would give this experience the highest rating possible! Thank you to Viator, to Magic Island Tours and to Daniel, the Aurora Whisperer for what I would call a PERFECT Iceland Northern Lights Experience! So incredibly satisfied!
It was a comfortable coach, with a restroom and nice seats. Daniel, The Aurora Whisperer, was informative and fun. We found the incredible Aurora at our first stop. They lasted well over 45 minutes. So glad we saw the lights and learned what causes them.
Daniel, our tour guide, the aurora whisperer - was really the best! Saw the most magnificent lights!
The problem with this tour is that it it weather dependent. We were unlucky in that it was overcast all week so the trip was cancelled 5 nights in a row. Dont depend on seeing the lights during your visit. We went to the Perlan Museum, to experience Icelands wonders as it is interactvive and can be done regardless of weather.
We are glad that our booked date was cancelled due to bad weather. Rescheduled to the next day was super blessed as we saw splendid movements and huge nice northern light not only green we also saw the red and white!!!
Our tour guide Daniel and driver were great. Very informative and accommodating. We went to two different spots and the hot chocolate was a great added touch.
We saw the northern lights as a band, like a rainbow. It lasted quite a while and was very pretty. The tour bus picked us up from our spot on time, and the tour guide, Unnur, was very informative and friendly. It was nice to hear an Icelander's viewpoint and how much she loved talking about her country. The bus was comfortable, and very necessary to hide in from time to time between taking pictures, since it was so windy and cold outside.
Daniel, the "Aurora Whisperer" , was fantastic guide...like having a teacher on the bus. We had a once a year viewing of the northern lights which made this trip extra special!
It was so good! It is very busy at the 12 stop. Several tours pick up there. The bus has very good signage and says Magic Island. The tour guide was very informative and pointed out different places to look at to see them. Also very good tips for taking the best pictures.
Unnur was a fantastic guide. Very informative and helpful. She didn't rush us at the viewing point and waited till everyone wanted to get back on the bus before moving on. Would highly recommend.
Daniel was absolutely incredible. He has us all excited and prepared for any outcome - the perfect light show we got deserves a 5 star review for Iceland itself - but truly our driver and guide made the experience magnificent.
Everything about this guided tour was top notch. They picked us up at the exact location and time promised. Our tour guide Daniel "the Aurora whisperer" was very good and we learned so much. I highly recommend this tour, it did not disappoint at all. Definitely recommend!
Daniel the Aurora Whisperer is amazing...very informative..much more than I expected..sightings and learning.
With The BEST tour guide Daniel the Aurora whisperer and with Wieslaw the bus driver it was un unforgettable magic. Best team, kindness, patience, lots of scientific information 🥰🙏
Daniel, the Aurora Whisper was amazing! He provided very informative about the science behind Auroras and helped guests with camera settings to capture best views. The driver was also amazing navigating the roads and spaces. Highly recommend this tour!!
We didn’t see the Aurora the first night, so we got booked again 2 days after for free and we saw an amazing Aurora! The guides were fantastic. Amazing experience! Thank you!
We watched Aurora. It was spectacular and unforgettable This excursion was rearranged because for the former Aurora excursion weather conditions were very bad and we didn’t see Northern Lights. Thank you very much Well done
The bus is really nice. The guide and driver were very determined to get us to the best spot to see the lights…and they did! It was my daughter’s dream and I appreciated their attention to the weather and data to get us in spot with a view! Seeing lights is lucky…but this tour gave us a better chance! They also helped with phot tips and lots of knowledge!
Unforgettable experience! So glad I signed up for this after having no luck for 3 nights because of cloudy skies. We drove out over an hour, didn’t see it at the first spot then finally saw it at our 2nd spot. It was unreal! The guide also told us how auroras are formed and other fun facts. Definitely recommend this tour
Thank Daniel the Aurora whisperer and Kuba. Daniel was very informative and educated us on the Northern lights. He was very friendly and made the experience even better.
Wonderful tour with wonderful guide and driver ❤️ I recommend
We were incredibly lucky to see the Northern Lights on our very first night. Our guide was fantastic — very knowledgeable about the aurora and genuinely enthusiastic, which made the whole experience even more enjoyable. The only downside was the pickup: the bus arrived about 25 minutes later than the scheduled time, and we had to wait outside in temperatures of around -10°C. Aside from this delay, the tour was a wonderful and memorable experience.
Our tour guide was Daniel. I suspect Daniel is no tour guide, I think he is an astronomer because he knows very much not only about Northern Lights but also about stars and satellites. He explains everything about the Lights and also about finding them. About the surprise offered... I will just tell you it was a real surprise, I imagined it would be a little chocolate or a postcard with the Aurora but it's much more interesting. Daniel also knows a lot about preparing the camera for best possible photos.
We had an absolutely incredible Northern Lights tour and couldn’t have asked for a better guide than Unner. As a local, she brought such authenticity and depth to the experience. She wasn’t just driving us to viewing spots — she genuinely took the time to explain how the aurora forms, what conditions make it visible, and how to read the sky. Her knowledge and passion really added another layer to the night. Unner was friendly, patient, and clearly committed to giving us the best possible experience. We visited three different locations to improve our chances, and her flexibility and determination truly paid off. To top it all off, there was a wonderful culinary surprise at the end — such a thoughtful and delicious touch that made the evening feel even more special. This tour exceeded our expectations in every way. Highly recommend — and if you can, go with Unner!
Amazing experience on Small bus with Roman. Lights were amazing. Hot chocolate and an Icelandic surprise 🤩
Daniel and Kuba were amazing guides. Daniel truly is the "aurora whisperer". He was very knowledgeable about the northern lights and was very accurate with where and when to find the aurora. We had a fantastic time and hot chocolate was a bonus too. Would highly recommend
The Northern Lights are not a given, however, the guide and driver do their best to find them. We patiently waited another 15 minutes for them to make an appearance.
An enjoyable evening despite the freezing weather! Our guide Daniel was very informative and chased the chances of finding views of the Northern Lights and was successful. A nice cup of hot chocolate at the end to warm us up - plus a tasty surprise. Excellent safe driver Cooper at the wheel.
Had an amazing time, our guide was so amazing and informative - he gave us so many amazing facts and he even took family pictures for us !! Had a great time , lovely hot chocolate and saw some beautiful Northern Lights.. Highly recommend !!
Our guide was Victoria, she was really enthusiastic and welcoming throughout the freezing cold and windy evening, as well as being knowledgeable about the aurora and Iceland in general. We hit on a perfect night, no moon, crystal clear and loads of aurora activity. At one of the stops there was a chance to try some Icelandic treats (if you like your shark fermented, that is) along with hot cocoa. At the end, we were getting ready to go when Victoria spotted a new burst of activity in the sky. We stayed another 45 minutes and it was well worth it, as the light show was even better than anything else we had seen that evening. A lot of luck involved, but a great and memorable evening.
