What an amazing tour! Our guide, Yngvi, was unbelievable. Very knowledgeable, extremely patient, funny, with good stories and lots of local color. Pick up was just a block from our hotel. The huge converted F350/Ford Excursion vehicle was unique to say the least. All of our stops, especially the snowmobiling, were more than we could have hoped for. Even lunch was great! We highly recommend this trip!

Itinerary
Visit Þingvellir National Park, home to Iceland’s first parliament, founded in 930 and one of the oldest in the world. Walk through a dramatic rift valley shaped by the meeting of the North American and Eurasian tectonic plates.
Visit the Geysir geothermal area, home to hot springs, bubbling mud pools, and Strokkur, which erupts every few minutes. Travelers can enjoy one of Iceland’s most famous natural sights and see the power of its volcanic landscape up close.
Visit Gullfoss, one of Iceland’s most famous and powerful waterfalls. Watch the glacial river plunge in two stages into a deep canyon and enjoy dramatic views, roaring water, and one of the highlights of the Golden Circle. Gullfoss, meaning “Golden Falls,” is said to get its name from the golden glow and rainbow-filled mist that often surrounds the waterfall on sunny days.
Experience Langjökull, Iceland’s second-largest glacier, on a thrilling snowmobile ride across a vast world of ice and snow. After reaching our glacier base, travelers head out on a guided snowmobile adventure onto the glacier itself, surrounded by wide open views, fresh mountain air, and the raw beauty of Iceland’s highlands. Riding across Langjökull is the true highlight of the tour and an unforgettable way to experience one of Iceland’s most impressive natural wonders up close.

It was amazing. The waterfall was just awesome. The snowmobiling was a first for us. The guides were great.
While distances are considerable in the experience, the guide and the vehicle were really fun! The snowmobile ride was incredible, our guide, Luigi took us around the landscape and he let us catch some speed; it felt like a Mario Bros game recreation! Golden circle portion was breath taking, the waterfalls, the hike at the american continental plaque, the geyser and even lunch completed a great adventure. The broker, Wake up Reykjavic services were superb!
This was an amazing excursions full of the natural beauty of Iceland, exciting snowmobiling and a fantastic tour guide!
This needs to be on your bucket list. Yngvi was our guide for the day. He was informative and answered all our questions even about everything. We were never rushed and enjoyed all the attractions. The snowmobiling was AMAZING our guide Mark was friendly, knowledgeable and made the experience memorable.
We loved the tour. Highly recommend
Loved that we had a small group of 7. For the snowmobiling, we were appropriately dressed at the site to weather the cold. The snowmobile guide was quick to assist if anyone needed help. So I felt totally safe. Our tour driver was great but needed a microphone as the people in the back of the van could not hear him. Loved the sites that we visited and appreciated the "lunch" break even if it wasn't on the itinerary.
Great tour of the Golden Circle with Edwin. Highly recommended!
Snowmobiling on the glacier was amazing! I wish the tour was just focused on snowmobiling and skipped the tourist spots. It wasn't super clear who was picking us up, in what vehicle, nor was it clear if/when we would get food. Thankfully I read reviews that said bring snacks - definitely bring snacks!! You don't get a chance to eat until pretty late in the day.
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ This was my very first time snowmobiling, and I honestly couldn't have asked for a better guide than Jon Thor! What stood out immediately was his patience. He never made anyone feel rushed or nervous — and with a group ranging from 14 to 63 years old, that was no small feat! He made sure every single person, regardless of age or experience, felt comfortable and confident before we set off. Jon's detailed explanations were a game changer for me personally. As a first-timer, I had no idea what to expect, but his clear, step-by-step instructions gave me the confidence I needed to actually enjoy the ride rather than worry about it. By the time we hit the snow, I felt completely prepared. He has a natural ability to connect with people of all ages and skill levels, making the experience fun and inclusive for everyone in the group. It truly felt like no one was left behind. If you're thinking about snowmobiling — especially for the first time — Jon Thor is exactly the kind of guide you want leading the way. Patient, knowledgeable, and genuinely dedicated to making sure everyone has an amazing time. Absolutely unforgettable!
There was a LOT of sights on this trip but the snowmobiling was by far the most fun. The guides were all very helpful and a ton of fun. This is a long day but if you want a day packed with activities without hassle this is the way to go
Truly is an adventure of a lifetime the sights are mesmerizing and surreal start to finish was magnificent the whole day just ran smoothly no complaints regular stop for snacks etc driver was fantastic an knowledgeable speaking on the history of parts of Iceland along the way with 100% honesty book you won’t be disappointed
Brilliant time on the glacier!
We loved being in a small group. The super jeep was a good choice. We hit 1 stop on the Golden Circle on the way to the glacier to snowmobile. Our driver didnt speak the best English so a little hard to understand at times. We then headed to the glacier. The closer we got the worse conditions got. By the time we go to the snowmobile it was whiteout conditions. The snow and wind were blowing so hard you could hardly see the snowmobile in front of you. But we never felt unsafe. We had a guide up front, in back and one of each side. Wish we could have seen the glacier, but with the wind and snow we really couldn't see a thing. On the way back to base camp our jeep got stuck. Another truck had to come pull us out. After we finally got back to the main road we stopped at the other 2 golden circle stops. Which were all very nice. I would definitely make sure you take sandwiches or something to eat. Thankfully we did, because we didnt stop anywhere that had food until 3ish. Overall it was a great experience. Just wish thr weather had cooperated better, but that is out of the company's hands. Still a really great time and would recommend doing this tour!!
Great tour with smaller group size not a tour van full of people is definitely a perk. Plenty of information given along the drive. I would definitely recommend
Personalised experience from pickup to drop-off our guide was genuinely so passionate about getting us everywhere at the best times such as seeing the sun setting over thingvellir national park. We were in a super jeep (modified defender) with another 2 so very personalised and stopped for perfect time ~40 mins at Gullfoss and geysir The snowmobiling was an awesome introduction, you get a briefing then follow each other in a line up the glacier, stop for photos and switch driver if needed at the top on way down. Viator and Mountaineers of Iceland were brilliant to contact around pickup time, answered instantly. Massive thanks to our guide (sorry to forget your name) you really made our trip and I hope your resteraunt trade is booming over the coming months in your other venture. Dan
Brilliant would do it again. Amazing scenery snow mobiles lots of fun aswel. Tour guide was very knowledgeable
The snowmobiling was phenomenal and the stops were very nice along the golden circle. The only significant disappointment was of the bus driver that took us around, did very little to try to educate us about the Icelandic countryside. It seems he could have been a little more proactive in pointing out highlights of the countryside and some of the history of the country
An excellent long day out. Lots of driving but some incredible scenery and an awesome snowmobile experience. Highly recommended.
Incredible once in a life time experience! The host was fantastic at guiding us with facts and the snowmobiling was amazing with incredible views.
We had a wonderful time on this tour. Our tour guide was friendly, knowledgeable and funny. The breath taking sights we witnessed will stay with us forever. There are places to stop along the way for food and refreshments. The high light of the day was most definitely the snowmobiles. Would highly recommend this tour to anyone.
Once in a lifetime day ! Wow ! Do not miss out .. Snowmobiling on a glacier is amazing .. such a fantastic day. Our Driver Toby was brilliant .. he knew so much about Iceland and was so organised. The whole day went according to plan .. very well planned and thought out. Some incredible places visited and photos captured. ThankYOU so much.
Great day out with the key golden circle sights combined with snowmobile tour. Our guide adjusted our itinerary to avoid coach tours and fitting everything into one of the shortest days of the year.
From start to finish, our guide Einar was brilliant. Just the right amount of interesting facts mixed with humour! We enjoyed every second of our adventure. We were not ever rushed, we were given clear instructions at each stop and left to spend time exploring ourselves. The Super Jeep was so comfortable and a treat in itself to be driven around in. We are a small group of 13. The snowmobiles were a particular highlight for all of us. My son and husband rode together and I buddied up with one of the other ladies on our tour (she was older and clearly not 100% comfortable with driving). We thought we were going really fast, but were quite quickly pulled over and suggested that we moved to go nearer to the back. I asked if we were going to slow, the response was so sweet. We were told, not at all, you just may feel less pressured to go faster nearer the back. It was a fantastic experience that we will all remember for the rest of our lives! Our teen son will be back when he is 18 and has a drivers licence to have a go himself! I have no idea of the cost as we were on a full package with many excursions organised, but having I do know that we would not have wanted to have missed out on it!
This is such a great trip. Try something different with snowmobling. It's a small group tour and perfect to really connect with others. Our driver Clem was absolutely amazing, the knowledge he has is amazing and I got to learn new things about Iceland. It was a great addition to the tour. The snowmobling crew from the equipment hut to the actual riders were just so nice and helpful at all times. We got change up riders at the half way point so we all could get turns. The group we had on our Jeep were so friendly and it felt so nice to amongst a small group to get the most of this Golden circle tour. Thank Mountaineer of Iceland
Excellent tour guide which always makes the experience. He was an independent operator contracted by the company for our trip. He kept us moving without being rushed to make sure we saw all the sights in daylight. Snowmobiling was great. If you are an experienced rider you may want to chose their other option.
Bus did not turn up from stop 12 this morning! We called to be told we were no shows!! We had been there since 8:15, holiday ruined thanks to this company and customer service no help at all. Would not recommend at all.
Incredible experience!! Just mesmerizing, completely recommend. The timing of the route was great avoiding the bigger crowds.
Pickup was 1 hour+ late. My 8yo daughter and I freeze in the cold. Followed by driver driving fast over humps without braking and we all lifted up our seats for the entire pickups. Had to called emergency number as nobody work weekend. Tour finished earlier than described. Email to the company to ask why the pickup was so late and no notification or call or whatsoever. No reply. Snowmobile experience was nice though. 1 extra star for that. But overall it was very expensive nasty experience at the start.
Where very warm layers, boots, gloves, hat. Bring water and snacks. Loved the small group(8) and the super jeep is totally cool and a very comfortable way to travel to all the amazing stops on the golden circle.
Absolutely amazing experience! I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend the Snowmobile and Golden Circle trip to anyone. We had an incredible time in the Super Jeep with Nico — he was extremely informative and happily answered all our questions. Truly a fantastic guide and very thoughtful, even surprising the kids with Oreo biscuits after the snowmobile ride. A top-notch experience from start to finish. Tip - dont forget to have grips for walking around if icy.
Amazing trip and experience. The snowmobiling was the best part in my opinion. Organised perfectly from start to finish. Would 100% recommend!
An experience we’ll never forget! From start to finish, everything was perfectly organized, exciting, and full of breathtaking sights. The snowmobiling adventure on top of the glacier an absolute highlight! Racing across the pristine white landscape surrounded by incredible mountain views felt like being on another planet. A huge shout-out to our guide, Yngvi, who made the entire journey even more special. His deep knowledge of Iceland’s history, geology, and culture combined with his warmth and humor made the day both educational and unforgettable
We had a great tour with our guide Nick! Learned a lot about Iceland history and geology. The weather was sunny for most of the day and the water falls were gorgeous! The snowmobile ride on the glacier in the sunshine was amazing! Thank you for a great day!
If you are meeting up at the port, make sure you go outside the terminal past the cruise line's buses and to the next parking lot where private tour buses are parked. Yngvi was a great guide. He told great stories and had so much information about Iceland. Everything we saw was fascinating. The snowmobiling was pretty cool. This was a long excursion and we were tired when it was over, but worth the time and exertion!
About 3 hours of driving. Waterfall was well worth it and snowmobiling was a neat adventure. Was 60 degrees and glacier was melting fast. Challenge to control the throttles. Mercedes off-road bus was amazing.
This tour lasted a bit over eight hours, and included both the "golden circle" tour and a one-hour snowmobiling option. Superjeeps are four passenger vehicles equipped to navigate the difficult terrain to get to the glacier from which the snowmobiles departed. Fun snowmobile tour--we wish we could have stayed longer. Full snow suit and gloves are provided, but advise to pack a spare set of socks and sneakers. Golden circle offers a magnificent waterfall and a walk through a geyser-filled area, and beautiful scenery. Also, it includes a short walk through the middle of the two, North American and Eurasian, tectonic plates, which was an interesting experience.
The entire experience from start to finish was superb. All the staff were helpful, knowledgeable and friendly. John our tour guide was all that and more. We highly recommend this tour and John as a guide.
Excellent experience. Great time! Educational and fun! Snowmobiling was the best. My son and I had a blast!
The highlight of this tour was the snowmobile ride on the glacier. I gave this tour a four star because I was hoping for more information from our guide about the additional sites we experienced. Our guide was also our driver, so maybe he was only expected to drive and be our snowmobile guide.
Yngvi picked us up promptly at the scheduled time and location. He was very friendly and informative throughout the trip, and was so knowledgeable about a lot of things Icelandic. I asked him a lot of questions and he almost always had an answer. The snowmobiling was a highlight for me. I had never been snowmobiling before, and this was a thrill. After my initial nervousness, I got the hang of it and wanted to go faster and faster. The Super-Jeep was very comfortable - we hardly felt any of the many potholes and dips on the gravel road portion of the trip. The only negative was that it hit 30 degrees Celsius today (apparently a record high) and the air conditioning in the vehicle didn’t work. But overall, we had an amazing time and we’d highly recommend the Super-Jeep experience. Having a smaller group was definitely preferable to some of the very large group trips that we encountered along the way.
I can’t even put into words how amazing this tour was. Every stop was stunning and the views along the way were breathtaking. There are not words to describe snowmobiling on a glacier but it’s an experience my family and I will never forget. Yngvi was an amazing tour guide and driver- very knowledgeable and super nice! No regrets,15/10 would booms again!
Nick was an excellent guide. Very conversational. Helpful information. It was a fun day even with the spotty rain snd wind.
My family had a fantastic time on this tour...It was by far the most enjoyable part of our trip to Iceland and would not have been the same without the extensive knowledge and personal storytelling of life in Iceland by our tour guide, Yngvi. It is a MUST DO tour for anyone visiting Iceland. The fact that so many natural wonders are all within reach in one place on Earth in one day is truly amazing...and then to have the opportunity to snowmobile with our snowmobile guide, Nico, on the second largest glacier in Iceland was simply unbelievable - we felt safe and secure at all times. This tour is truly life changing. Thank you to Mountaineers of Iceland!
SUCH AN AWESOME TOUR OF THE ISLAND! And our driver, Yngvi, made sure my family had the most memorable experience! From waterfalls to geysers and spontaneous off road driving, this super Jeep tour is not one to miss on your visit to Iceland. The snowmobiling on a glacier was also INSANE!! Very safe, even if you accidentally flip (which I did twice).
This is the best way to use your day seeing the Golden Circle. Make sure to book the “Super Jeep”. Also, make sure you book Mountaineers of Iceland company because their Super Jeeps are more luxurious than other company’s we saw. There were only 6 folks on our tour (in our super jeep). Taking the Super Jeep was $50 more pp but worth every dime for the luxury and small group. I am so happy with my decision. Including the snowmobiling made this tour. It was only an hour of driving/riding the snowmobiles but was really fun. Most important advice I can give you is wear waterproof hiking boots. Boots that come above your ankle. You’ll be walking on VERY uneven surfaces, gravel, lava rock, black sand and hiking up hills in the dirt. Your feet will get wet around the waterfalls.
This tour was wonderful, and the snowmobiling was the highlight of our visit to Iceland. The views were stunning and we had so much fun driving the snowmobile. The group was small, which made it even better, and the superjeep was really cool. Our guide, Jon, was really friendly, helpful, knowledgeable and a brilliant driver. I had never driven a snowmobile before but it was really well explained and we were supplied with suits, helmets, balaclavas and gloves. It would be really important to have waterproof footwear with you as this was not supplied - you can book it as an extra to the tour - but you'll need this in Iceland anyway. We also visited the Geysir geothermal area (lovely food in the restaurant here!), Þingvellir National Park (you need a longer visit to really appreciate this - our short stop only gave us a very brief taste of it) and the absolutely stunning Gullfoss waterfall. The reason I didn't rate this tour as excellent was because it felt a bit like the Golden Circle tour was an add-on to the snowmobiling rather than the other way around. If I were going again, I would do the Golden Circle separately to the snowmobiling - I would have liked to have had a bit more time to enjoy those beautiful sights and a longer lunch stop. However, the snowmobiling is definitely a must-do and I am thrilled that we did it.
A fantastic day seeing the Golden circle highlights and a thrilling snowmobile ride across the glacier with spectacular views.
Really enjoyed this experience. The right time was spent at each location. The golden circle has some beautiful sights to see. The snowmobiling was an amazing experience. Most of all I liked being chauffeured around in the massive jeep!! Our guide was very knowledgeable. Don’t hesitate, book it!
The tour operator was very kind, efficient and helpful. We actually missed them in our stop due to a confusion but they guided us and picked us up from a different stop. They planned the trip so well based on the weather and ensured we had a nice time. It was well organised and highly recommended
