Reykjavik: Glacier Lagoon, Diamond Beach & South Coast Day Tour

Extremely Disappointing – Sven Needs to Rethink His Attitude I’ve travelled quite a bit over the years, and this was easily one of the more disappointing tours I’ve been on. Our guide, Sven, had quite an attitude from the get-go. His first interaction with our predominantly Asian group was to question whether we could even understand him. Seriously? Not exactly a warm welcome. Throughout the trip, he came across as arrogant, condescending, and more interested in reminding everyone that he was Icelandic than actually making guests feel welcome. There were empty seats on the bus, yet we weren’t allowed to switch seats. We even paid extra for pick-up, only to end up sitting separately. And apparently, we also needed a lecture about how expensive Iceland is, because even American gas prices supposedly don’t compare. But here’s the real kicker: we were given just ONE HOUR for both Jökulsárlón Glacier Lagoon and Diamond Beach. The boat trip alone takes around 45 minutes, and getting to Diamond Beach takes another 15. So what exactly were we supposed to do? Rush through two of Iceland’s biggest attractions just to tick them off a list? At over €200 per person, including pick-up, this is simply ridiculous. Iceland is spectacular. Unfortunately, Sven’s attitude and the way this tour was organised were anything but. A beautiful country deserves better ambassadors than this.

Huge thanks to our wonderful guide, Edo, for sharing interesting stories and pointing out sights along the way. Despite the large group and long journey, he was patient, attentive and kept everything well organised, with plenty of bathroom and food stops. Big thanks to our bus driver too for the smooth and safe ride! The scenery was absolutely breathtaking, and the boat tour at Glacier Lagoon is a must! A long day, but so worth it. Definitely one of the highlights of our Iceland trip. Highly recommend!!!

Eva was a significant and important part of this spacial day in our life’s. Her treat and guidance was second to none. Special mention to our driver Tomek. Great and smooth ride, keep it up.

It‘s wonderful. The weather is soooo nice and we see alot of scenic spots which are stunning. The guide VJERAN is wonderful too.

Vjeran was the best at taking photos on the groups behalf. He and driver Dragon went above and beyond to squeeze in extra stops. All in all a long but worthwhile trip. The glacial lagoon is unmissable!

A Wonderful experience with Vjeran and Augustine!! 14 hours is a bit long but definitely deserve it. One of the best days in Iceland

Amazing trip and amazing guide Vjeran. We are so lucky to have a nice weather, and Vjeran arranged as many spots as possible for us to assure us the best experience. The pace and the schedule was wonderful and perfect. Definitely will recommend to everyone.

The sights alone were spectacular (we were particularly lucky to have visited on such a beautiful day), but our guide - Sven - genuinely made a great day out a brilliant one. Perhaps my favourite guide of all the years doing day trips. Loved his style and stories, which struck a perfect balance of being humorous and informative. Don't be put off by the distance - we'd absolutely recommend the tour for anyone visiting Iceland.

Very well managed, smooth and safe driving, Sven is an excellent guide who provides its of interesting info about places which only a local can…enough and quite well timed stops other than the sight seeing spots of the excursion, although a long trip but not tiring or rushed…places are must visit…we were lucky to have the best of weather conditions throughout the day which enhanced our experience… Thank you team

We had a lovely time. The weather was perfect, and diamond beach was full of ice. We even saw seals in glacier lagoon. It was dark when we got to our last stop, but the waterfall was still beautiful; if anything it was less crowded than it would have been. No complaints about the tour. We were picked up on time, our guide, Sven was highly knowledgeable, and everything went smoothly. Thank you Sven and Dean!

Andrea was a super wonderful guide. An Augustine a great driver. Andrea was never a dull moment and had many great stories both from her personal experience of being Icelandic and from history and current events. It was a fun tour, and a nice amphibious boat ride. I’m sure there is a good reason for it but I wish we could have gotten a bit closer to the glacier wall on the boat ride.

Andrea and Augustin are super friendly and professional, love it! Gonna miss it a lot when I’m back home.

This trip was long but worth the time and money. The glacier lagoon was the highlight for sure. Our guide Elvar made sure that everything ran smoothly and on schedule and had great stories and information that he shared during the bus ride.

This was one of those trips that stays with you long after you return home. Iceland had already been a place I dreamed of visiting, but it is now, without hesitation, my favourite place I have ever travelled to. The landscapes are almost impossible to describe: glaciers, black beaches, waterfalls, mountains, the ocean, tiny villages and an incredible sense of space. But what stayed with me most was not simply how beautiful Iceland is. It feels strangely different from anywhere I have been before. There are places where the landscape becomes so vast and empty that you almost lose the usual sense of scale. Black lava, moss, mountains, ocean and an enormous sky, sometimes with almost nothing in between. It can feel a little alien, almost as if you have stepped outside the familiar world for a while. There is something about Iceland that makes you feel very small, but in a strangely beautiful way. It is not a place that seems to ask for admiration. It simply exists in its own way, and perhaps that is exactly what makes it so powerful. A big part of what made this tour so special was Kristi. She was much more than a guide; she became a friend. She knew the places, the history, the stories and the landscape, but what I appreciated most was the way she shared them. Nothing ever felt like a rehearsed tourist speech. She made the whole experience feel very natural. There were many moments during the tour when I simply stopped and looked around, thinking that I could not believe I was actually there. Kristi always seemed to know when to give us some context, when to tell a story, and when to simply let the landscape speak for itself. And if there is one thing I am certain about, it is that I will be back in Iceland. And when I do, I already know who I will want as my guide again: Kristi. I have already recommended her to everyone I know who is thinking about visiting Iceland, and I would happily do so again. I came to Iceland hoping to see beautiful places, and I certainly did. But I left with something more difficult to put into words: the feeling of having experienced a place. Iceland is an experience, a mental state, a mood, a feeling. I am genuinely grateful for this experience. Iceland gave me some of the most beautiful memories I have from travelling, and I already know that this is a place I will carry with me for a very long time.

Today was amazing. I learned so much about Iceland and the culture. I was corrected on some beliefs and introduced to many. Not too long of a day. Great value for this priceless experience. We had a full bus and Sven took great care of us all. The weather accommodated us gently.

14 hours tour. We had Rosa as the guide. Very articulate and funny. Weather was terrible but still saw all of the spots. Glacier lagoon, Diamond beach and water fall ( The one that you can go behind) were fun activities. Vik alloted time was a little more than needed. Overall good South Coast trip!

An excellent tour, made truly special by our guide Denis, who is one of the best guides I had in Iceland. He is incredibly passionate, knowledgeable and enthusiastic, and I learnt so much from him about Iceland’s history, geography, people, language, landscapes and stories. He created a wonderful atmosphere in the van and was also great at pointing out the best photo spots along the way. My only suggestion would be a slightly more relaxed driving pace, as the journey and some stops felt a little rushed. We actually returned to Reykjavík quite early, so I would have preferred to take more time to enjoy the incredible scenery. Overall, having Denis as our guide was a real privilege and made this a very memorable experience.

It was a brilliant tour. Our guide on 15 September 2026 was simply brilliant, and we’d go on another tour with him in a heartbeat. He even played songs on his guitar on the bus – it was just brilliant. Thank you very much for the wonderful tour

Very few companies offer this tour to the glacier lagoon so I was happy to have access to it. The sights were beautiful but the guide was a tad disorganized in my opinion (at least one unclear meet-up time and location) and did not seem to be solidly prepared in what they were telling us (seemed to be improvising a bit as compared to other guides I have had). Also, in terms of the itinerary, dinner was way too late as we had no real stop for lunch. Dinner was at 6 and we were picked up at 7 a.m.

Wonderful tour hosted by Eva She added so much dimension and fun to the tour; we viewed some of the most spectacular landscapes, waterfalls and lagoons in the country! I highly recommend this tour please request Eva as your guide.

I had a wonderful time! Even it was very windy, I really enjoyed each places. I appreciate the driver and tour guide ( sorry I’m not good at remembering name)! I learned a lot about Iceland such as politics, geography, and legends.

Arthur our driver made us feel very safe on our entire ride and Vjeran our tour guide was very knowledgeable and we really learnt a lot about history of the country and the landscapes. The Glacier Lagoon and Diamond Beach tour was truly one of the highlights of my trip to Iceland! From start to finish, the experience was breathtaking and unforgettable. The scenery was absolutely spectacular—seeing the massive glaciers and icebergs floating peacefully in the lagoon was something I had never experienced before. It’s an absolute must-do for anyone visiting Iceland. I highly recommend booking this experience. It exceeded my expectations, and I left with unforgettable memories and some amazing photos! This trip is a must do if you have limited time in Iceland. Our guide Vjeran was the absolute best. He is very charismatic and funny. The trip was 14 hours but was well worth it. Very amazing sights. And he explained a lot. Highly recommend

Christi and August were wonderful guides and took us to incredible places today. It’s an all day event and they kept us entertained with history, stories, and cool stops along the way. Lots of great photo ops and the perfect weather.
