This was absolutely the best tour we took on our week-long trip to Iceland. We knew it would be a small tour, but it turned out it was just our family, so the guide was able to personalize the trip and accommodate our interests. Guide was very friendly, informative, a good driver, and went above and beyond to provide a great experience for us. Highly recommended!

The Conference center opened in spring 2011 and is a popular attraction place for Iceland’s concerts and cultural events. It also has a great restaurant, in-house catering and is a conference center with meeting facilities.
This house is a historical place and a beautiful building! It’s where the famous meeting took place in 1986 between former US President Ronald Reagan and former USSR General Secretary Mikhail Gorbachev.
The house of Parliament was built in 1881 in the city center. Near to it we will see the City Hall, which is located next to the pond Reykjavikurtjörn, which is a popular place among the Icelanders to feed the ducks some bread.
Hallgrímskirkja Church is Iceland’s tallest building or 74.5 meters (244 ft). It took more than 38 years to build the church and is Iceland’s best-known landmarks. The church was designed and influenced by Iceland’s mountains, basalt and glaciers and Gudjon Samuelsson a state architect designed this magnificent structure. The church is named after one of Iceland’s most famous clergyman and poets Hallgrimur Petursson.
This garden is lovely to visit and is filled with sculptures crafted by Asmundur Sveinsson and is located in the sports and recreation area of Laugardalur. The Arbaer Open Air Museum is not far away from where we will see rebuild historic buildings and learn fascinating information about how Icelanders lived in the olden days.
The last location is Perlan Restaurant and Cafeteria. It was built on top of Reykjavik’s six water tanks and was used to contain the hot water supply for the Reykjavik city. On top of the building, you’ll be able to see a 360° of the whole Reykjavik and surrounding area.

We had an excellent guide who was born in Reykjavik and knew the city well. He took us to some great venues and had many stories to share about the city and Iceland.
Our tour guide was Thorii, a native of Reykjavik, and he provided a wonderful introduction to this interesting city. Thorii had traveled all over Iceland during his life, so he was able to tell us fascinating tidbits that most others would not know. It was obvious that he wanted to pass along his great affection for the city. Among the many sites we visited were the president's residence, the Hallgrimskirkja Church (in which we went up to the belltower, thanks to tickets that Thorii bought for us), and the building in which Ronald Reagan and Mikhail Gorbachev conducted their famous summit meeting in 1986. He also told us where would be the best places for us to purchase souvenirs of Reykjavik and Iceland. You will be very pleased that you chose Thorii for your tour guide because he is terrific!
Very good comprehensive overview of downtown Reykjavik. Toured the church and went up in the bell tower. Did an immersive volcano experience in the Harpe concert hall. Visited the beautiful Viking boat sculpture and had some delicious ice cream!
Our guide was very knowledgeable and gave us the time we wanted at each stop. Would definitely recommend this tour.
Great introduction to Reykjavik. We drove all around town with Thorir, who provided an excellent background information about Iceland and Reykjavik history, politics, religion, city life, things to see and do, shopping etc etc. Very comprehensive and interesting! Went to Aurora Borealis Museum and lava flow adventure in Harpa Coference Center. Thorir was a great guide--very knowledgeable, flexible and friendly. Would recommend this tour as a great way to start your visit to Reykjavik and Iceland!
Our driver/guide was Siggi and as many reviews note, he's excellent. His friendly and engaging approach, and deep knowledge of Iceland's history, architecture, economy, etc. made for an outstanding tour. He was also really accommodating with one of our party with limited mobility. Highly recommended!
This was a small group tour of a number of places in Reykjavik. The guide also drove the spacious van. We had a mobility scooter, and there were no problems getting it managed at the various stops. Guide was very friendly, patient, and quite knowledgeable about Icelandic history and architecture. There were 6 major sites on the plan, and we also learned a lot about the city between stops. Thorir, our guide, was quite flexible, and worked with us to achieve the best tour for us.
Siggi (our driver) was great. He’s lived his entire life in Reykjavik-even showed us the house where he was born-and so knew everything about the area. We made a few stops to actually explore a bit, and he made special efforts to accommodate one person in our group with mobility issues. That’s above and beyond what we expected. Really nice way to spend our first day in Iceland while waiting for our hotel rooms to be available.
We had the most insightful, entertaining, and thorough tour of Reykjavík with an awesome and very knowledgeable guide. We even had a side trip to the Presidential compound and could freely roam the grounds. No fences, gates, secret service or security agents. That would never happen in the USA. No wonder Reykjavík is one of the safest and happiest cities in the world! We were promised the best guide and we certainly got him. We highly recommend this tour. 5 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️.
Even thought our flight was delayed the driver was aware and waited for our group of 6 with no issue, we had a wonderful experience with the drive from KEF to downtown with an awesome informative tour which took us to all the great highlight spots, he even recommended a great restaurant near out ship to enjoy the local fare which was incredible. It is worth booking this vendor for a great experience in Iceland!!!
Siggy was an exceptional tour guide! If you do this tour in Reykjavik, requesting Siggy is a must. My parents are senior citizens and have some mobility issues and Siggy customized the tour so that they would still see all the sights without exhausting themselves. He was incredibly professional, kind and humorous and at the end of the day, he felt like family. We loved seeing all the city sights with Siggy's story telling and wished we had all day with him!
Our driver picked us up at the cruise port. He asked what we wanted to see and we told him this was our first trip to Reykjavik. He took us to the concert hall, it was very impressive architecture. He took us to other sites. He suggested Fly Iceland which is a "ride" where you feel like you are flying over Iceland as your chair tips and there is mist as you "fly" by waterfalls. (This was an additional cost.) He took us to the big Lutheran Church, Hallgrimskirkja. We asked him to take us to someplace where we could get lunch. He took us to Cafe Loki which is across from th church. We had a very good meal there. We had asked that he take us to the airport ( for an additional fee but well worth it). On the way to the airport, he told us about some of the sights we were seeing and pointed out the erupting volcano. This was a great way to pass time before our 5 o'clock flight after our cruise.
The most beautiful part of Iceland/Reykjavik is of course, the nature. The stark white landscape with the underlying volcanos, the geothermal geysers, the frozen waterfalls, the Ocean, and the highlight of the place, the Aurora Borealis, aka Northern lights every single one is worth a mention by itself. We went on a tour by Reykjavik sightseeing tours and our guide Cristina was amazing Not just informative, but proactive. A couple on the bus lost their phone on the tour in a waterfall and she contacted another tour operator who was just reaching there, got them to pick it up, and got them to deliver it to them. Kudos Cristina. For travellers, a word of caution keep track of the days when you can and cannot see the Aurora. Keep an extra day. They are not visible if there are clouds and rains and then the trip is a waste. Please carry lots of woolens, it goes down to -21 °C. Keep your eyes open for open spaces where there are no street lights (especially near the ocean) where you may see the lights without a tour(we did!) Carry shoes that are suitable for ice. Ice is slippery. Enjoy like we loved Reykjavik.
We had a driver who had never done the tours, just drove people back and forth to the airport. Did not go to all the spots we were told we would stop at. Had to constantly ask questions to get him to talk. He was a very nice man but we took the tours to see the city of Reykjavik and learn about the history and highlights. Would not recommend this tour group
The highlight of our first day in Iceland was Oak Travel’s Reykjavik Sightseeing Tour with Christian. He promptly met us at our hotel with a very comfortable Mercedes. As he glided through the narrow streets of downtown Reykjavik, he introduced himself, asked us what our interests were and tailored the trip to us. He was very informative and personable. We visited all the landmarks of the city as well as some of the hidden gems. For instance, there is still a salmon run in the city limits with a fish ladder, making it easier for salmon to negotiate the river’s weir. It was an excellent tour and gave us a better understanding of the city.
We thought it was a good experience, well organized with the professional guide Anastasia. But we would have liked a little longer at the different stops.
