Was my 4th time in Iceland and first time doing this tour. Our guide Gardar was great. We wound up being a group of 5, everyone in good spirits. The beers we sampled varied in types and all locally brewed. We were even treated to a Northern Lights display within the city centre after our first stop! One standout was at Lemmys, a bar I'd been to on previous trips, but had no idea there was a back area which offers up to 40 taps of local beers which you can sample or purchase a pint of to serve. yourself. Great experience overall!

My husband and I ended up being the only ones on this tour and I am not gonna like, we LOVED that! Our tour guide Árni was FANTASTIC. From the Icelandic History to the Culture, we learned so much and had an absolute blast! It felt like we were on a private tour with a local friend!
Georg was awesome very informative. You won't regret it I promise.
Georg was so fun and a great guide! Felt like we were with friends already. Also a great way to see the city.
Fantastic!! Our guide a"Bo" was awesome and and shared lots of great history and local knowledge.
Our tour guid george was amazing. The beer was great and each stop was different and super fun. We met new friends and it was a great start formour trip
Our guide,Sveinbjorn (Bo), was great. We learned so much about the culture and history of Iceland while enjoying a delicious variety of local beers. He rook to pubs where the locals hang and not necessarily where tourists flock to. We would highly recommend this tour.
My fiancé and I spent the week in Iceland and had the trip of a lifetime. We spent some of our time in Reykjavík and we did a beer tour with Gardar amongst other things. This tour is highly recommended and he’s the best guide you can find! We talked beers, Icelandic history and many other things. Thank you Gardar and skal 🍻
Excellent fun tour. Gardar was our tour guide and we enjoyed his company talking about Icelandic culture while enjoying some great beers.
Our Beer Tasting Tour with Garðar was an absolute highlight of our time in Reykjavík. We genuinely enjoyed every pour (even the one that wasn’t our personal favorite was still interesting and well chosen!) and came away with a much deeper appreciation for Icelandic beer and brewing culture. Garðar effortlessly blended beer knowledge with stories about Reykjavík, Icelandic history, and everyday life here, so it felt like we were getting both a tasting and a mini cultural tour at the same time. His enthusiasm, humor, and clear love for his city and its beers made the experience feel warm, welcoming, and memorable from start to finish. I personally appreciated the warnings about the tourist traps and information about local swimming culture. I would highly recommend this tour with Garðar to anyone who loves beer and wants to learn more about the local culture and people! ... And drink beer. Can't forget the beer.
Great beer tour in Reykjavík! Our guide was punctual, friendly, and very knowledgeable. We visited three different locations, enjoyed some fantastic beers, and received great recommendations for other bars and restaurants around town.
Our tour guide was amazing . Very knowledgeable and learned a lot about the culture too . Highly recommend this tour .
Our guide Beau was terrific. Very knowledgeable and accommodating. Beer was great. It’s an easy walk in the cold. I highly recommend.
We enjoyed this experience very much. It was fun, informative, and overall, very enjoyable. We would recommend this to others.
This was such a fun evening out in Reykjavik! Our guide Kristjan was a blast! Our group was small, we visited 3 bars, we each found something we liked at each place. Kris told the tales of the history and prohibition of beer and alcohol in Iceland. He brought along different Icelandic candies for us to try as well, we liked them so much we found them in town to bring home. Kris was so patient with us and engaging, answering all our questions about life in Iceland, it felt like we were just out on the town with a good friend and didn't want the night to end! Five Stars!
Our guide Bo was very knowledgeable. He was very informative and had a great sense of humor. We had a great time! We would highly recommend this tour!
We had great time on the beer tour! Our guide, Garðar, was a lot of fun and really knowledgeable. Highly-recommend if you’re looking for a fun afternoon out in Reykjavik!
I really enjoyed the Reykjavík Beer & Booze Tour—it’s a fun and social way to meet fellow travelers while trying some great local beers and spirits. 🍻 The atmosphere was relaxed, and the tastings were a perfect mix of flavors and stories. Our guide, Garðar, was excellent—super friendly and full of insight about growing up and living in Iceland, which added a personal touch to the evening. All in all, a great experience that I’d highly recommend to anyone looking for a fun night out in Reykjavík.
I had an amazing time on the Beer & Booze tour! The drinks were fantastic, but what really made it special was our guide, Stefán. He wasn’t just knowledgeable about Iceland’s beer and restaurants - he also shared a ton of fascinating history about the country along the way. His energy, humor, and storytelling made the whole experience both fun and memorable. If you’re visiting Iceland and want a tour that’s both educational and entertaining, I can’t recommend this one enough!
I did the craft beer tour with Chris on my very first day in Iceland, and it was such a fun way to start my trip. As a solo traveler, it helped me get my bearings in downtown Reykjavík while also getting a taste (literally) of the local beer and food scene. Chris was friendly, knowledgeable, and gave us a great mix of history, culture, and recommendations. The atmosphere was relaxed and social — I even met a few people that I ended up seeing again later in my trip. If you like beer, want to explore some great local spots, or just want a quick, coordinated way to experience Reykjavík, I can’t recommend this enough. Perfect for solo travelers and groups alike.

Fun small group tour. The guide, Bo, was very knowledgeable and great beers to try with patron choice at one place as well.
Thank you, Kristjan Stefansson, you capped off our Iceland trip with an experience we will carry with us for a lifetime. Iceland is our favorite place on the planet. Waterfalls, volcanoes, hot springs and massive landscapes that can make you feel like you are in a fairy tale one minute, only to find yourself on a deserted otherworldly planet later the same day. We recently decided to go back to Iceland for a second time and apply what we learned on the first trip to make the second one better and we decided to throw in a Reykjavik beer tour on our last night as a different way to see the city. Beer is beer, tours are tours, and cities really aren’t our thing when we think of Iceland. However, Kristjan made this tour a highlight of our trip, and yes, a tour that is equal to the insane attractions that Iceland has to offer. He didn’t mindlessly ramble about history or simply point out attractions, he shared personal stories about the love he has for his home country and his ancestral ties to Iceland’s storied past. Simply put, Kristjan is not a guide, he is a future friend that you haven’t met yet. If you are the planner of your next trip to Iceland, do yourself and the others in your group a favor, book the Reykjavik: Beer & Booze Tour and ask for Kristjan. You'll thank me later.
Great Tour. Visited 3 different bars. The first one, Skuli was the best one. Great 4 beers and sour to taste. Even went back another time to get a full beer of my favorite. The 2nd tasting was okay. This was a beer garden, and you got to pour 5 beers of your choice. They had at least 20 various ones to choose from. Unfortunately, the ones that I would have liked, they were out of. Also, it was cold outside and we sat outside. I was freezing and would have preferred to be inside. The last stop was inside a bar and the tasting was basically a full glass of beer. Each sample was a very generous portion. The guide was very knowledgeable and fun. A definite must do tour.
I did this tour with six friends. We visited four brew pubs with so many different t craft beers. Guide Olly was expert, very friendly and courteous. A great evening
Had a great time with our guide who was very knowledgeable! We went to three different bars and got to try various Icelandic beers! Would highly recommend.
We did this tour on our first day in iceland. It was good with only one other couple. Thenguide spoke English wetland answered lots of questions. Recommend beers based on what we told him we enjoyed.we tried some beers we would notnhave tried otherwise and had a great time.
We really enjoyed our beer tour with Bo. The company and beverages were great. Bo was very informative and entertaining!
Olí was fantastic in showing off some great local spots that I never would've found otherwise! He was very friendly and had lots of interesting facts and stories about Reykjavik's history, especially in relation to beer and other alcohol. The stops were all great and most seemed to mainly have a local clientele. I would highly recommend the tour!
Our tour guide Bo was INCREDIBLE! He took us to three awesome bars that allowed us to try delicious local beers. Bo always helped us learn a ton about Icelandic culture and made one of our last days in the country extra fun!
Its was nice, we had 9 beers. We were told the history of Iceland. We went to a nice bars, he told us which clubs we could hit.
A very nice evening with Steppi and two new friend from USA🤗 Thank you for a lot of new Impression, with and without beer!!
Had a great time, tour continued despite the storm so we were very happy on our 1st day in Iceland! Very good beers, met some lovely people.
Chris was fun to have a beer with! It was such a pleasant evening and made learning Iceland beer history enjoyable! Thanks!
We had a great time on our beer tour with Svenbjorn, who showed us how to toast in Iceland and told us some interesting history of the country as well as of beer in Iceland and said if we wanted to sound like we were speaking Icelandic we could say (I think) "I forgot my yogurt." We enjoyed meeting the other people on the tour, who were from Louisiana and included a doctor and ATF agent.
Tour was great Ollie the tour guide was awesome. Took us to three pubs tried 9 different beers. One pub you got to select your from a variety and pour your own. Was a lot of fun
Fun night out trying new beers! We had a small group of just 3 people total but we still had a good time! We visited some really cool bars.
Drunk guide took us to 3 empty back street bars and served us some strange beer. 2/3 of the group left at bar two. Save your mobey
Helgi was very informative not just on the tour but with the history as well ,he chose beers that were suited to us and place we wouldn't have found on our own was great experience and would definitely do it again thankyou for sharing your knowledge
The beer door was so fun! Matt was such a great guide, very funny and gave great recommendations in the area! Would recommend to anyone in visiting Reykjavik!
Helgi is the best tour guide/drinking buddy ever! As a born and bred Reykvíkingur he knew plenty of fun facts about the city. He encouraged us to ask questions about the culture of the city and country. He kept the conversation lively and truly was "our friend in Reykjavik." I'm a gin cocktail drinker and Helgi accommodated me beautifully among the beer drinkers, helping me choose the best Icelandic gin to try. We got our money's worth on the tour for sure, highly recommend!
We had the best guide who was knowledgeable about the area and the spots we went to! Highly recommend
We had a great time with host Oli. Great conversation and we liked everywhere we went. Would have like to try Iceland gin. The beers were great and we enjoyed every minute of it!
I booked this event for my husband, not so much for me because I’m just not that into beer, however, I went also. Arnar, our beer guide was fantastic, even suggested a particular taste that I might enjoy, and I absolutely loved it! Arnar helped make our first day in Iceland spectacular. Thank you!
This was a very enjoyable tour. Oli was a knowledgeable guide providing us with information about the beers we sampled. He included a lot of historical information about the places we visited. We had so much fun. This was a great way to end our incredible trip to Iceland.
Mathias was a great tour guide to show us Reykjavik! He was exceptional because he also is a tour guide for history/folk tours of the area. Our group got a lot of added benefits in this aspect, in a relaxed environment while hitting some great bars for the beer/booze tour! Highly recommend!
We had such a fun evening enjoying delicious drinks and exploring the city. Our guide, Mathias, was extremely knowledgeable and really personable. With such a small group, we all felt like we really did make a new friend, We were also able to connect with the other group members in such an intimate setting. Our guide even provided us with some suggestions for other things to explore in Iceland. What an amazing tour. I learned a lot and had so much fun. It was the highlight of our trip. Would definitely recommend.
We had a wonderful walking tour with Kris. He truly deserved a full tour group (12 people) but my husband and I enjoyed a personal, private tour. Kris shared the very interesting and entertaining history behind the growth of beer in Iceland. We got to learn a great deal about day-to-day life in Iceland. And the flights we tasted were so good. Kris also provided small treats at several stops that enhanced the beers’ flavor. Would highly recommend!
Our guide Matthias was knowledgeable and passed on plenty of information about the craft beer culture in Reykjavik. We visited 3 bars and had a sufficient and diverse group of tasting.
Our guide was wonderful!! Great conversation along with the drinks. Really nice way to start our Icelandic adventure!
