We had a private tour and our guide, Dan, was personable and so knowledgeable about the places we visited and their history. We had plenty of time to see what we wanted and make stops as needed. It was a great day!

This captivating jewel of Iceland's natural wonders is surrounded by majestic volcanic peaks and with its barren shores disrupted only by the occasional steaming hot springs. Step on a cliff that overlooks the magnificent lake and have a panoramic epic moment. To reach Kleifarvatn from Reykjavik it takes us approx. 45min
Reykjanes Peninsula is renowned for its extraordinary geothermal activity. Dive into the amazing geothermal wonders and enjoy the colorful mineral-rich pools, and the dramatic contrast between the steamy vapors and the otherworldly scenery by taking a stroll around the geothermal fields.
Erupted during 2021, this volcano has birthed new land in this region. Take a chance of a lifetime to witness this active volcano's power. Travelers need only to take a short walk to see it close.
Travelers can step and surround themselves with another incredible geothermal marvel in Iceland. They will be taken on a journey into a world filled with bubbling mud pools, steamy vents, and the awe-inspiring strength of mother Earth.
The Reykjanes Lighthouse or Reykjanesviti is an iconic landmark built in 1907 offers breathtaking views of the North Atlantic Ocean. This was also one of the film locations of the movie "Eurovison song contest" starring Will Ferrel. If you are a fan, take the chance to play on the installed piano and play as one of the characters.
Miðlína a.k.a. “The Bridge between Continents” is a striking steel footbridge spanning a yawning fissure between the Eurasian and North American tectonic plates. The Reykjanes peninsula tour was a major highlight of our family Iceland trip. Our tour guide Deyan N. was knowledgeable, courteous and took us to the most amazing locations -black sand beaches, geysers, lava flows, geothermal vents, a lighthouse, and more. Every stop was fascinating and several appeared to be off the beaten path due to his knowledge of the area and the absence of crowds. He gave us plenty of time to explore at each stop and the pick up and drop off out our hotel was so convenient. It was a perfect private excursion for our family after the big bus tour we had taken the day before (which was also amazing but didn't have the same flexibility as a private tour in a smaller vehicle). We especially liked seeing the newest lava fields near Grindavik and Blue Lagoon and Deyan could tell us quite a bit about the most recent eruptions. What an incredible country - thank you Deyan!
Deyan was an amazing guide! Very knowledgeable of the area and very pleasant to speak with. Very nice to go at our own pace instead of with crowds. Would definitely want to go on another tour with him.
Had a great trip to the Reykjanes Peninsula with Dayan. The sightseeing was top-notch and Dayan was a pleasure to spend the day with. Highly recommended!
Taken at our pace, friendly, knowledgeable, deatiled discussions on history, geology and any area raised by ourselves. Especially enjoyed Grinvadik.
Dayan was our tour guide and he was a wealth of information. He explained that we were doing the tour in reverse, due to daylight, and we all thought it worked out great. He let us take our time at each location and gave a lot of info about the location before we went to explore it. I really liked seeing sights on Iceland that I probably would not of seen without going on an excursion. I even forgot my glasses in his van and he graciously returned them to me the next day.
The area was outstandingly beautiful, remote and with little tourists. It was so interesting to learn of the recent eruptions the way this had affected the local people and understand the efforts made to alleviate further disaster. To see the lava flow and land form was incredible. Deijan our guide was able to share so much information about the eruptions and surrounding areas. He was excellent company and we would highly recommend this tour as an alternative to the golden circle. With amazing ocean views too.
Deyan was our tour guide for a tour that was booked last minute. We had been to Iceland two years ago and had booked two other tours for our stay. Deyan started our tour with us telling him where what we had already seen in Iceland so he could put together a plan that provided new things to visit. He exceeded our expectations! Took us to sites we probably would have never seen if it was not for his quick planning! He is a great guide who likes to share historical information about things in Iceland. It was a thoroughly enjoyable day! Be sure to ask for Deyan as your guide.
Very interesting tour! Deyan is a great guide. Very knowledgable and friendly. We enjoyed all of the stops along the way and would recommend this tour for some unique sites.
This was a very good tour! We saw a lot of awesome things, and even made a few extra stops that we had requested. It was a great day, with a great guide! A++
This was an awesome trip. The driver was extremely knowledgeable and personable. Was so nice to explore on our time and get so much information. Highly recommend this company.
Farook picked 5 of us up at our hotel on time and with our luggage for drop off at the cruise port after the tour. At our first stop, Kleifarvatn Lake we asked Farook a question, he replied “Sorry, I don’t speak the language”. This was a surprise since I had been messaging in English with Deyan about details for our trip. During the tour we made a couple of turn arounds as driver didn’t seem to know where he was going. We were able to see all the sites we wanted, but we would have liked some commentary, history and information from our driver. They did accommodate our request to adjust the start time and cruise port drop off which was a big help.
Our pickup was on time at the cruise terminal and Deyan was a very safe driver. He gave us a lovely tour and dropped us at the airport for our flight home.
This is a great private tour to see parts of Iceland without a far drive from Reykjavik! We enjoyed the sites and our very friendly and knowledgeable guide!
My husband and I had a 22 hour layover in Iceland (much of it overnight), and after a lot of searching found "Iceland on Wheels" could accommodate our limited timing for a tour. We were absolutely blessed to have Deyan as our driver/tour guide! He adjusted times to make things easier on us, he was incredibly knowledgeable, friendly and just made the 6 hours we spend exploring the most amazing part of our Iceland adventure. We couldn't thank him enough!
We were so lucky to have met Deyan on our airport transfer. He gave us lots of information on our transfer to Reykjavik, he was very knowledgeable about the area and the volcanic activity so much so we decided to take this tour with him. The weather was foggy but it didn’t spoil our tour as Deyan took us to such fascinating areas and told us all about each part of the tour. We were never rushed and he was polite & courteous at all times. We would highly recommend this tour but also this company and we will definitely use him again when we are next in Iceland.
Our family of 7 (including 73 year old mom and kids as young as 10) had the pleasure of spending the day with Deyan for a tour of the Reykjanes Peninsula. He was engaging, patient, thoughtful and showed us his love for Iceland. One of the highlights was the town of Grindavik, which was evacuated last year due to the earthquakes and volcanos. It was incredibly somber, yet moving way to see what so many families experienced and the power of mother nature. I highly recommend a tour with Deyan and the less-crowded stops along this tour.
We had a great time on this private tour. Essam was our guide and he was very friendly. And a private tour at this price is a great deal in my opinion.
Beautiful day, windy and cloudy. Enjoyed the experience Deyan shared and loved his knowledge of Iceland. The tour was really interesting, especially the lava field that shows variations in color and form from January to March. Loved the bubbling springs and the lighthouse area too.
We met the driver previously when he drove us from the airport to our hotel and included a lovely tour of the City highlights. We left something in the hotel that he graciously picked up for us. My husband has some mobility issues and again, Deyan graciously assisted him to see the extraordinary sites, making sure he was steady. This tour was the highlight of my grandson's trip. Deyan was so knowledgeable and informative.
I have done a ton of traveling and often use Viator but this was one of my very best private tour experiences. From my initial email inquiries to Johanie to the airport return by Dan, all communication was timely and helpful. They are a great couple to work with. My daughter and I highly recommend using Iceland on Wheels!
Everything about our tour was perfect. From airport pickup to return our guide exceeded our expectations. Highly recommend this tour and this guide!
Outing made with Nicolav driver guide: available, kind. A great private experience and great places in winter version. Too good.
Great private tour of impressive scenery, also with individual stops, info in easy to understand English,
La visite a été fluide et très bien organisée. Notre guide s'est montré à l écoute à nous a fourni des explications très intéressantes. Nous avons pu grâce à lui approcher la dernière coulée de lave, c était incroyable. A recommander sans hésiter.
