My husband and I had a truly perfect day and guide for our tour of the 'Iceland's South Coast and the Zodiac boat excursion on the Jokulsarlon Glacier Lagoon' with BR Tours. It was wonderful. I found BR Tours on Tripadvisor and contacted Jon via email. He immediately responded and answered all my questions, plus provided recommendations. He only required a modest deposit and booked our requested date followed by an email confirmation. Arni G was our guide and driver for the day. He was very likable, personable, and had a wealth of knowledge, (just a great guy!). We never felt rushed and saw everything we'd hoped to see and experience. The vehicle was a new VW Van that was first rate and very clean. BR Tours is of course more expensive than booking with a Tour Bus company and being with 65 other people, but we believed that having a private tour for a once in a lifetime experience was worth every penny. We highly recommend BR Tours.

Sigfus "Siggy" was an excellent guide and driver. We took this tour after our cruise ended and Siggy had a great itinerary lined up for us. He was also very flexible when our younger kids were not quite up for a hike or stop. We had several tours during our time in Iceland and found to be the most insightful about life in Iceland.

This was an outstanding tour. Everything was a smooth process from the time of booking on viator to the company confirming pick up with us when we exited the cruise ship. Our guide spent so much time with us making sure we were able to see everything we could in one day. He did not pressure us on time and was so nice. Iceland is beautiful and we will be back and use this company again! Highly recommend!

Jon at BR Tours was so much better than those crowded busses, the van he took my family of 8 in had plenty of room, and he customized our south coast tour to spend time visiting the best sites that we wanted to see, and he knows how to beat most of the big crowds and plan your trip for the best experience.

To avoid summer crowds and the coach buses our cruise was loading up, our group of 9 chose the South Coast private tour and it was AMAZING!!! Siggi was our driver and escorted us through an incredible itinerary of waterfalls, lush landscapes, and the beautiful basalt black sand beaches. We even added a hot dog stop, fish and chips stand, and lamb stew and cake to keep everyone satisfied throughout the day. Jon was so easy to work with in creating our itinerary and Siggi was the perfect driver for our family with his personal stories and videos to add to what we were seeing. He dropped us off at Sky Lagoon to end day 1 relaxing and then picked us up at the ship to do another half day together the next morning. I highly recommend booking a custom trip with Jon - he and Siggi will guarantee you'll have a lifetime of memories.

If you are looking for a private guide I highly recommend Jon from BR Tours Beyond Reykjavik - Private Tours Iceland. He picked us up from the airport at 6 am and took us to breakfast and then to the Blue Lagoon. He then picked us up hours later and took us to our hotel. Amazing northern lights tour that night where we were only ones in the area. We did the Golden Circle the next day and he dropped us at Sky Lagoon after. Finally we did the South Coast tour. (with hidden non bus tour stops). Yes we got lucky with the weather and northern lights but Jon was a great guide and always in a good mood. We had 8 people in a very comfortable Mercedes Sprinter van that could have held more people. Pricing was reasonable for what was offered. (got quoted much higher from other guides). He was also very responsive. And he’s a great photographer! 5 stars

This was the best trip my friends and I have ever taken. The 5 of us are in our mid 20's and we came to Iceland for a quick 3 day winter trip. We did the 3 day South Coast of Iceland Private Trip with Jon! He picked us up from the airport in an extremely comfortable VW van and was a phenomenal driver the entire trip. Jon is extremely flexible with planning your trip before arriving as well as during the tour. He knows all the best places to go to get the full experience without getting stuck in touristy spots. He made all of the accommodation bookings at phenomenal hotels. Honestly nothing could have gone better for us. There's a reason he gets such high reviews! I will be recommending him to anyone I know looking to go to Iceland!

Our experience with Jon and BR private tour was perfect from when I first contacted Jon until he dropped us off at the airport. Jon helped us craft a personalized itinerary that made it possible for us to do everything we wanted and quite a few extras without ever feeling rushed. We got to do the Golden Circle, South coast, Black Sand beach, Glacier Lagoon & Small Ice Cave Tour, Diamond Beach, Reykanes Peninsula with the new volcanic flats and so much more. We have dietary restrictions and Jon was able to find the perfect place to stop every time. Our trip was fantastic and I highly, highly recommend booking with Jon.

We did a 2 day trip with BR Tours and we had Arni as our guide. Dealing with Jon to make the booking was stress free and itinerary was left In his capable hands. We got to see and do so much and had the best time. Arni was very knowledgeable and took us to places not included in the itinerary which my girls absolutely loved. We would not have seen hardly as much as we did had we of gone alone. Thank you very much!!

We are a family of 4 with 2 young kids (10 and 7) and we had 2 fabulous days with Arni exploring Landmannalauger and Thorsmork. Arni was so knowledgeable about the culture and environment. He was very laid back and flexible and allowed us to explore various sights at our own pace and adapt the itinerary on the fly as needed. We can’t recommend him enough!

Jon was a very friendly and knowledgeable guide. We had an amazing tour of the south coast with a lovely local Icelandic lunch and many sights to see. Jon had timed the tour perfectly so that we did not have to wait anywhere and we really enjoyed ourselves. Really a great tour!

We just used Jon from BR Tours for 6 full days touring in Iceland. We were two families of 3 and I must says Jon is the absolute best guide. He knows what he’s doing and all of his recommendations were absolutely perfect. We had an incredibly memorable experience and we know it would not have been anywhere the same had we not used Jon from BR Tours. He took us to incredible off the beaten path places as well as the most popular places. The best excursions he coordinated were the zodiac tour in the glacier lagoon and the kayak tour with the icebergs. We are tough people to please but Jon exceeded our high expectations exponentially. Use him- plain and simple.

Had an excellent day tour! Weather was not the best but Jon did really make the most of it by making sure we prioritised the glaciers over waterfalls (which we wanted). Lunch stop recommendation was excellent and just no complaints except for the weather which we can’t control. Car was very comfortable and Jon was very nice and knowledgeable on all sorts of topics. Highly recommend using again!

Highly recommend Beyond Reykjavik Tours. Our family of 5 (2 adults, 2 teens and a tween) took a private 3 day tour of the Golden Circle and South Iceland with an overnight in Vik. We opted for the 15 passenger van and it’s was 100% worth the extra cost. The owner of BR, Jon, was so helpful in creating an itinerary that would best suit our family. He also advised us on clothing needs (bring full rain gear and waterproof hiking boots). We had multiple phone calls with him prior to our trip and he used our input to shape a FANTASTIC experience for our family. Our tour guide, Arni, was INCREDIBLE both with his knowledge of Iceland and his love of adventure. We saw the most amazing things on our 3 day tour that we absolutely would never have known about doing a self guided tour. Arni arranged a zip lining tour for us in VIk and took us to several off the beaten path places including a canyon and a working dairy for ice cream. Would highly recommend adding the zodiac tour in glacier lagoon. We had the most amazing time and the tour was worth every penny. Arni packed our days with fun and adventure showing us his beautiful country. We are so grateful to BR, Jon, and Arni for making our trip so spectacular.

Árni Georgsson is the most amazing guide! He knows Iceland like the back of his hand! He is so knowledgeable and friendly and easy to be with. His suggestions and expertise were fantastic!!! There is really not enough adjectives to describe how wonderful he was!!! I would highly recommend him and the tour company!!!

We had a truly amazing experience with our exceptional tour guide, Siggi. We did the golden circle, south coast, and northern lights tours. Siggi was very friendly and knowledgeable. He went out of his way to accommodate us so that we could see everything during our trip. He’s the best tour guide around. I would highly recommend him.

I was traveling with 11 friends for a 4-night visit to Iceland, only one of whom had been to Iceland before, as I had. As you can imagine, there was a lot of back and forth about which activities interested all 12 of us, and how we wanted to tackle those activities. Some of us wanted to venture all the way out to Diamond Beach as part of the South Coast tour, but after talking to BR Tours, it became clear that it was too ambitious for a single day tour, especially in the winter with limited daylight. Eight of us ended up on this private tour with Siggi as our driver and guide, which provided great flexibility. He made fantastic recommendations on where to stop and how best to maximize the use of the limited daylight. For example, after a long walk to the Solheimafijara Glacier, we had our lunch at the food truck by the parking lot rather than venturing further east to Vik. Siggi was very patient with us as were able to work in an additional stop/detour to visit the remains of the US Navy Douglas Super DC-3 that crashed in Sólheimasandur in 1973. Siggi also provided commentary as we passed various landmarks, which made the trip educational as well. It was a very long tour, but the van was comfortable, with more leg room than I've experienced in vans of the same size.

We are two friends and geologists from the East and West US Coasts. We met in REK and enjoyed 3 wonderful days exploring the tectonic geology and oceanic plate rifting visible in southern Iceland. Siggi (first day) and Jon (next 2 days) were terrific guides, helping us track down the obscure spots we had found in advance in a geologic field guide. Both gentlemen were wonderful company, on time, helpful, patient and persistent in finding the locations we were seeking. And thoughtful: the comfy clean SUV was continually parked and orientated so the wind didn't fly open our doors as we got out. We felt like we had instant friends in Iceland. Brtours was highly recommended to us from friends in the States, and now we highly recommend them to you!

We like the flexibility of private tours and having only 5 full days in Iceland, we opted to do 2 separate private day BR Tours. The first day was with Saevar along the South Coast of Iceland; the second trip was with Lovina through Thingvellir. I cannot begin to tell you what wonderful guides - and people - they both were. Their passion, pride and knowledge of Iceland - in addition to the beautiful and varied nature - made these trips so incredibly worthwhile! They truly gave us great insight of the people and the rich history of Iceland. If it were just us on our own, we would've missed so much. And Jon was wonderful in response time and in coordinating all this. TOTALLY RECOMMEND!

When I first read the reviews I was a little worried because they were all 5 stars. I decided to book anyway and I am so glad I did. Our group (ages 14-61) loved it. Jon was very friendly and informative. He was flexible as to sites we wanted to see and showed us a part of the world we would not have otherwise seen. He encouraged us to do things we might not have done. My sister-in-law is afraid of heights but she climbed to the top of one of the waterfalls because he of him. We also toured the Golden Circle with Jon. If you have the time I suggest you do that first and then visit the South Coast. You won't regret it.
