Beautiful waterfalls, beautiful country. Fascinating glacier and black sand beach. Joseph was a great driver!

Our Private South Coast Tour with Joseph was a highlight of our trip!! He took us to all the beautiful locations in the South Coast, and was so flexible at each spot. We never felt rushed. He wanted us to enjoy our day, which we certainly did!! He knows so much about Iceland and it was really fun to learn from him. Plus, he was interested in learning about us and, by the end of the day, we had formed a friendship with him. In fact, at the end of our trip, we were flying home from Akureyri via Reykjavik and had a few hours to spare in Reykjavik, so we reached out to Joseph and he helped us with our luggage and transportation. I highly recommend reaching out to Joseph if you are visiting Iceland!!!
We had an amazing time with Joseph. He was very knowledgeable and we learned so much about Iceland
We had a great time touring with Joseph. The tour took about 9.5 hours and was fantastic. We saw two beautiful waterfalls, a glacier, puffins and the black sand beach. We also were able to stop to see extra stuff because of the private nature of the tour.
Great trip with a great guide, Joseph Ajayi. His education really helped highlight the tour. We saw two beautiful waterfalls, a black beach, a beautiful small church and the European/North America tectonic plate where you can straddle the line. Pretty good tour for older people since all activities were easy to do.
Great private tour. Awesome tour guide. Dimitry was warm and informative. Also very flexible. ……………..
Our guide was very accommodating and able to change the itinerary based on our needs and interests. Also, you can get very wet at the first waterfall. Bring extra socks and shoes.
At the last minute, due to weather on the South Coast, we changed our plans and explored the Golden Circle instead. Our driver was so nice, flexible and knowledgable. We enjoyed our day very much! Highly recommend this tour!
Amazing tour of the south coast with our amazing tour guide Lina. Lina was very knowledgeable and was also very accommodating to our group. It was a great day nice comfortable vehicle and Lina knew all the great spots
Spent a lovely day with my guide, Lena. I have mobility issues and use a walker. Lena adjusted our schedule to allow me to what limited walking I could do to maximize my time and see the sites. Highly recommend.
Sam is amazing! He knows a lot of Iceland's history and geography, is a fantastic driver, and very engaging. He made sure we saw all of the south shore must see spots as well as some less known (loved the troll houses)! Very comfortable, clean, and roomy van made for an easy 8+ hr tour. Highly recommend!!!!
If I could rate this trip more than 5 stars I definitely would! Dmitri, our guide, took us to the most amazing locations and even added stops along the way to ensure we made the most of the trip. He helped us navigate the snow and ice safely to reach incredible hidden waterfalls that other tours often do not include. Afterwards, he also sent us all the amazing photos he took of the places we visited! Dmitri was so lovely and without doubt would contact him again when we return to Iceland.
The sights on the South tour were absolutely beautiful. Our tour was even more amazing because of our tour guide … from getting us comfortable, to making sure our every whim was catered to, to the knowledge he offered us on the sights…. Just perfection! DJ made our trip to Iceland one of the most fun trips we’ve ever taken!! Highly recommend it, make sure you specifically ask for DJ!
The South Coast tour and our helpful guide Fabio made this our best day in Iceland. He provided walking sticks for the spray-slick walk around and behind the 200’ high Seljalandsfoss waterfall, and the path all the way to the face of the Solheimajokull Glacier, where we stood on and touched the glacial ice. He took us to a charming overlook above the Vik church, beyond where the tour buses go, and to a big supermarket with great variety and prices. He stayed with us at all the stops and helped us over the dicey parts. He was flexible, recommending a pizza chain to us and even stopping to pick up our order on the way back to our Airbnb. We were concerned that he’s Italian, not a native Icelander, but he was knowledgeable, fluent in English with no difficulty communicating, and entertained us on the long drive home with saga and folklore tales. The vehicle was a bit small for a group of four, but not enough of a problem to keep this from being our best day in Iceland.
Rafal was absolutely an amazing + informative guide. I will HIGHLY recommend him to my family and friends. Rafal made the long day (excursion) a wonderful experience full of Kodak moments and special memories. Rafal: Hope to see you soon! Thanks, again.
Our private tour driver Didzis (from Latvia) was awesome. He re-arranged the order of the sites due to weather and how wet we would get at the falls. It was a clear day, so we were able to go to the Dyrholary Promontory/lighthouse and see the puffins nesting along the cliffs. The Seljalandfoss was the highlight. We also went into a cave and saw the hidden falls. It was amazing. Our driver was very nice and very professional.
Amazing trip to the South Coast. Amazing tour guide, DJ. We asked a ton of questions. He was funny, entertaining and a very good driver for a private, low key, tour. We really enjoyed being on our own schedule and it was definitely worth the money.
Absolutely fantastic tour. Speedy, our tour guide and driver, was phenomenal. He knows so much about Iceland and has a wonderful way of sharing it and show you all the sites and hidden gems and even made it possible for me to do a little bit of shopping in Vik. I highly recommend this tour and Speedy.
We had a wonderful day with Raphael Zaczkowski. The weather was not good which prevented us from seeing some of the beautiful places south of Reykjavik. Raphael did a great job taking us to all the places to at least try to see them. He was a great conversationalist and we enjoyed his company. He stopped at a couple of extra places as well in our tour.
Our tour guide, Fabio, for our Private South Coast tour was good. Knowledge, informative and pleasure to spend the day with! However, the car accommodation were extremely disappointing! Prior to booking this tour I was promised a car that would comfortably fit 4 adults and luggage. It was a high priority for me to ensure we had a comfortable and enjoyable 8 hour tour. The luggage barely fit in the car and the Toyota Rav 4 did not comfortably fit 4 adults for an 8 hour tour!! When I contacted the tour company after my trip about my dissatisfaction they apologized and told me their larger cars were in for service. If this was the case the could have, and should have, called me to inform me of the situation and provided me with the option for cancelling or changing my plans. In my opinion this company has poor customer service and I do not recommend them.
Really knowledgeable about the areas and was even willing to take us to a few places off the main list
Dj was a great guide, he went the extra mile for us to take the best picture in the perfect spot, he is a careful driver and know his way around, very receptive of our needs and always trying to make the best journey for us
Company with enormous professionalism and seriousness. This Tour exceeded our expectations, very complete and the time available in each of the places is enough. Vishnu Am gave us the best day of our stay in Iceland. Also he very professional and serious. Thank you!!!
This wasn't a tour. It was a driver. Now, that's not a bad thing but our "tour guide" provided very little almost no information in our driving excursion along the southern coast. It was unfortunate that any tidbits shared, had to be fact checked because he was wrong. We ended up looking up our own facts about the drive and the landscapes around us. Our "tour guide" had a degree in tourism, could have fooled me. There was no introduction, no discussion about the itinerary and very little conversation in general considering we all would be together for 8 hours. We booked a private tour for the intimacy, ability to ask more probing questions and have less of a wait for other people on a big bus tour. We only got the last piece. Don't get me wrong, having a private tour was easier but don't call it a tour, call it a driver.
We had such a pleasant experience with Tourism Iceland! We booked a couple private tours during our week stay over Christmas. The company is very responsive on text and accommodating and flexible! They make the payment system very easy and seamless as well! They do not force excursions on bad weather to keep clients safe and they truly understand their clients. I traveled with two young kids and our tour guide made the trip as entertaining and educational as could be for them! Our tour guide, Speedy, also made sure we were comfortable in the car and he did not rush the kids when he saw they were having fun playing at certain sites. As a matter of fact, when we landed back in New York, at immigration, the kids were asked what the best part of Iceland was and they said “Speedy!” :). Thank you Tourism Iceland!
I would recommend the private tour of South Coast Iceland to any one who would like a stress free experience. It’s also a great value for our family of four, with door-to-door service and the cost was not much more than 4 tickets for a group bus tour. Our tour guide Vishnu was prompt to pick us up, he started by explaining the tour plan and also preparing us for possible change of plan due to weather related road closures. He was making best but safe attempts to get to all the sights, finding alternatives when a sight is not accessible, and also giving us a lot of good info on Iceland history and culture. We really enjoyed our tour and would highly recommend it to others visiting Iceland.
My family of 4 recently took the Private South Coast Day Tour. What a wonderful experience!! It definitely exceeded our expectations. Prior to the excursion, the communication with the tour company was great. They are highly responsive and helpful. We loved our tour guide Vishnu. He was very knowledgeable, polite and extremely accommodating. Before each stop he explained what to expect and showed us how best to experience it. Because it was such a beautiful clear day, Vishnu took us to Dyrhólaey. The views from the upper and lower regions are beyond belief. This was an unexpected stop for us and added to the South Coast experience. I would highly recommend this tour.
Our guide, Deeraj, was fabulous!! Very prompt to pick us up. Polite and kind. He knew alot about all the areas we drove through and stopped at. We had plenty of time at each location and saw way more than I had expected! We had another event in the evening and he made sure we were back in plenty of time. The company has great communication and got back to me right away when I had questions. Works definitely recommend and book again.
We had a private tour that combined some of the Golden Circle with the South Coast and Waterfalls. We loved having the flexibility of not needing to follow the crowds. If we liked a spot, we would stay longer, if we wanted to move on, we moved on. It was so nice to dictate our own pace and preferences. Rey was our tour guide and he was our biggest highlight besides all the gorgeous sites. He was knowledgeable, so kind, friendly and was completely accommodating to all of our needs. Rey, you are amazing! Truly a gem and Tourism Iceland is lucky to have you. Highly recommend this company and Rey specifically. Thank you for a great Icelandic experience.
We had a fabulous experience with booking 2 private tours with Freddy Gray and our tour guide Dheeraj! Highly recommend!
Sights were beautiful, SUV was a bit small for 4 adults plus driver. An amplified microphone would help those in back hear the excellent narration over ambient background noise.
Guide was very nice, accommodating and flexible. However, he was a fairly recent immigrant to Iceland, spoke no Icelandic (expressly stating that he had no intention of learning Icelandic), and did not display any particular knowledge of Icelandic history and culture. Indeed, certain information supplied was simply wrong. I had taken this tour before with a different company and a native Icelandic guide and had an experience was altogether more interesting and satisfying. As it was, we simply had a driver with very limited local knowledge. Also, vehicle supplied fairly beaten up. I wrote to the company to express these concerns before posting this review but received no response. Overall, a disappointing experience for a trip that was not inexpensive.
My wife and I had a great time. We really got to explore the south coast in time and Speedy, our driver took us to all the places based on his experience with weather where he thought would be better to go before there was a possibility of rain. He did a great job of explaining places that we were passing by as well. Definitely recommend this company as they communicate with you very well and are extremely professional and punctual.
We did 2 private tours with tourism Iceland. They were great at communicating with us and were really flexible, tailoring the trip to our needs and interests. Our driver, Raj, was so pleasant and accommodating. While he was not as knowledgeable about the sites as we may have wanted, he worked very hard to make the experience great. We also used them for transport to and from the airport and to the Blue Lagoon….incredibly helpful. All in all a great company.
We were a family of three and were very happy with this tour and the company operating it. They were responsive and accommodating from the first moment we contacted them. The day before accidentally our tour was canceled and they were on it immediately, rectified it, and we were back on track in a couple of hours. Freddy was wonderful at organizing the details and his communication was stellar, making sure everything went smoothly. Preeth (not sure if this is the spelling of his name) was great, we saw lots of amazing sites and loved every minute! Highly recommend this tour if you want something more intimate than being on a bus with lots of people. I recommend them highly!
I did this tour plus the golden circle and blue lagoon all organised prior to my holiday with Tourism Iceland. This made life so much easier with no extra money put on trips. South Tour wonderful , lots interesting places loved the Bosch sand beach and the waterfall you can walk behind. Great tour guide too. Don’t miss this adventure and blue lagoon a must too!
Freddy was excellent helping coordinate our two experiences with this company. Speedy is an awesome, knowledgeable, kind guide who adapted to our family's needs. My family and I highly recommend this company.
We were a group of 10 people. Our guides were accommodating and friendly. It was a nice experience despite a not so good weather.
We had a nice time with the tour of Preet and Speedy. We stayed at their property for 3 days. The service and interactions were really good.
After initially being worried about booking process all being done via WhatsApp, it was all so refreshing to have such an easy process whilst having a local tour operator on 'call' to answer any questions or adjust the tour to our requirements. Freddy was very helpful and it almost felt too easy...but exactly the way it should and refreshingly helpful...and stessfree. As for the tour of the South Coast itself, which was our first real trip out of Reykavik, our guide for the day, Speedy was fantastic. Speedy was pprompt and very considerate at pick up, even calling 5 minutes before to make sure we knew where to meet and were ok. Given we had a 10 hours in a car together as a family of 4, with two young teenage boys, Speedy waa a joy to have as a guide and it was actually sad to say good bye to him at the end of the dat! He was very informative of the places we were visiting and Iceland as a whole with a wonderful manner. He was great company with plenty of laughter in the car, whilst very respectful of our family time. Speedy adjusted the trip to allow for our needs, without missing out on the sights. The South Island is a stunning part of the world and one we would highly recommend with Tourism Iceland who were amazing through out. We will definitely book another tour with them, with a special request for Speedy, who was a fantastic guide. Thank you for the wonderful day! Ps I can't attach the pics I want to, but this pic reminds us all of our fun lesson on Icelandic pronunciation!
The South Coast is a Must Do in Iceland. It is very beautiful and worth while. Our driver/guide was super nice and went at our pace. So much so that he stayed overtime so we could do the full itinerary planned and didn’t rush us. Vishnu was great at explaining things and taking great pictures of us at the sites. The car is small so don’t expect luxury but the service is above and beyond. I would definitely recommend.
Speedy, our tour guide, is not only extremely knowledgeable, but also kind, flexible and an excellent driver. We highly recommend this tour for adults and teens. We visited the most amazing sights, yet had the flexibility to make changes as needed. Speedy connected with adults and teens and was able to please everyone. It was awesome to beat the crowds and always be a step ahead of everyone else.
Amazing Tour! This was our first time venturing to the South Coast and this was the perfect way to do it. The car was comfortable and clean. Our guide, Usman, was fantastic. He was friendly, knowledgeable, and allowed us to tailor our tour to see all the sites at our own pace. We highly recommend them for a fun, convenient way to see the south coast!
excellent guided tour of South Coast. Highly recommend our guide Speedy . We started from the Skogafoss waterfall, then did the Solheimajokull glacier, then the reynisfjara black sand beach. then we did the glacier lagoon (the boat tour as well) and then the diamond beach
What a fantastic tour! It was our 2nd full day in Iceland and our 1st opportunity for venturing outside Reykjavik (the weather had prevented any plans from going ahead on day #1). I’m sure our jaws were permanently open as we took in the amazing scenery and landscapes as Sapinder (our guide & driver) expertly took us to the following points: - Seljalandsfoss - Skögafoss - Reynisfjara (The Black Beach) - Dyrhólaey (Nature Reserve) Sapinder’s knowledge and explanations made sure we knew what we were visiting/looking at. He also made a big point about the dangers of getting anywhere near the sneaker waves at Reynisfjara (quite rightly!) Later on, Sapinder picked us up from our apartment to see if we could capture Aurora Borealis. There was a lot of activity on the road doing the exact same thing. Sapinder drove us to Þingvelllir National Park and we saw the Aurora Borealis. It was -14 degrees C so we only spent about 50 minutes out in the cold before we had to retire to the minibus.
Excellent way to see the South Coast! Speedy, our tour guide was excellent. Knowledgeable and easy to die d the day with. I highly recommend this tour, the guide and the company
We did blue lagoon and transfer, south coast tour and golden coast tour with this company! Amazing from start to end, guide speedy was fantastic nothing was too much trouble!! Highly recommend
Driver was 90 min late and car was unkempt and dirty. Though the tour said that it covered admission to sites, we were dropped off outside of the gates and asked by the driver to walk in to the destination. Driver was then pulled over by police for speeding on the return to our hotel, causing us to be 30 min late for our dinner reservation. Definitely not worth the USD$1100 we paid for this private tour and not in line with high expectations or ratings for this excursion.
We did a private South Coast Tour and the Golden Circle. Our driver was the best. He instructed us how best to enjoy each stop, and then gave us the freedom to explore on our own. The Black Sand Beach in Vik was mind blowing and the highlight of the tour. Each waterfall we visited was unique and impressive in its own way. The horses were, of course, ridiculously adorable.
Amazing experience from the absolute beginning. I originally booked a private airport transport. Which was perfect. Driver there as soon as we landed. We went straight out the door and to our car. Communication was perfect never had any problems reaching for any reason. After I booked the transfer, the company reached out for our flight information and informed me of several other tour options that they offered. They answered my millions of questions for several days as I tried to get my family to agree on what tours we would do. Even changed the start time on our tours to accommodate my teenager and six year old not wanting to get up too early! We went with the private golden circle tour the first full day and the private south coast tour the second day of our trip. If I had not already booked some things before finding this company I would have gone with them for our entire trip we liked them so much. Our guide/driver was fantastic. He was super knowledgeable about all the places he took us. Took amazing pictures of us and was flexible and accommodating about everything. I asked my kids both days which was their favorite part and they just listed every activity from the day. I highly recommend them for any activity they offer. I really think you can’t go wrong with them. If we return to Iceland, we will use them to plan our entire trip.
