Fantastic tour with Bjarni! It was such a pleasure talking with him as he filled us in on Icelandic history, geography, culture, legends, and so much more. The views are gorgeous on the drive and the waterfalls, black sand beaches, glacier, coastline, and all are breathtakingly beautiful! Highly recommend this tour. What an amazing way to spend a day going to all the major sights, learning so much, and enjoying the journey. Definitely a highlight of our Iceland trip.
Bjarni, our tour guide, was extremely knowledgeable and helpful. He made the drive enjoyable telling us about the places we passed as well as some of the Icelandic stories. The trip was fabulous.
Wonderful tour! Our guide was a wealth of knowledge, very accommodating and friendly. I would highly recommend this tour for anyone who is looking for a private tour!
It was comprehensive and fascinating with extremely knowledgeable driver. With factual history of Iceland intertwined with fantastical lore of the Icelandic people, the landscape with waterfalls and black sands with glaciers made the experience otherworldly. Highly recommended
Our driver was excellent. He told much history of Iceland and interesting folklore stories. He had no control over the rainy day we had but we still had a delightful trip.
What a fantastic tour. Bjarni was great and enlightened us about a variety of Iceland facts and shared several Iceland Sagas. He is quite the story teller. The water falls, the glacier, and black beach visits were breadth taking. He even showed us how to find the ocean pearls on the black sand beaches. Would totally recommend this private tour with Bjarni.
Amazing experience, our tour guide Bjarni is excellent. He told many stories about Iceland, traditions and culture and since he was born and raised in Iceland he knows a lot about the culture and history. The sites we visited were absolutely beautiful,we had plenty of time to explore it and enjoy the views, had time to try black crust pizza in Vik.The car is super comfortable, and despite the long drive and the whole day of sightseeing,we really enjoyed the tour.I would highly recommend this tour, particularly with Bjarni as your tour guide,if you want to escape big tour groups and you don’t want to feel rushed, but would like to enjoy the beauty of Iceland, that is the best tour to take.
This tour shows you such a beautiful part of Iceland! From waterfalls to glaciers to a black sand beach to the sheep and horses and countryside and all of the sites along the way. It is worth every penny and be sure to ask for.Bjarni to be your guide. He is very personal and is excellent at what he does! He was so helpful with my husband's walker and such a kind man. We very much appreciated that he taught us so much about Iceland and was willing to answer all of our questions, and we had a lot! You can tell that he enjoys being a tour guide. He also shared many stories that are told in this country (which we thoroughly enjoyed!) and he has a great sense of humor as well. We could not have asked for a better guide! We highly recommend this tour (fantastic!) and highly recommend Bjarni! Thank you Bjarni for a perfect day!
We had Bjarni for. Second day, and he was awesome. He took us to additional sites and was very informative and entertaining with the many stories that he had to tell.
Our group of ten took this tour in May during our cruise stop. Booking was very easy. As a person with many questions, Bjami answered each and every one of them with a prompt reply. Meeting at the cruise port was very easy as he is parked beside the tour bus parking lot. All of us thoroughly enjoyed and highly recommend this tour. Not only did we see THE MOST BEAUTIFUL SIGHTS, we were lucky enough to have Bjami as our driver and guide. We learned many things about Reykjavik and Iceland from a local perspective. He was open and honest with his answers. The tour was a full day with beautiful memories. Don't hesitate, book this tour.
What a great tour! So professional and well organized. Highly recommend. You cannot come to Iceland and not experience the South Coast!
Bjarni was incredible! If you are thinking of booking this tour, trust me just do it! The drive highlights such beautiful and wonderful stops throughout the South Coast and Bjarni customizes the experience beautifully. He is there the whole time sharing historic facts and Icelandic legends, and walking the sites with you to answer any questions. He is incredibly knowledgeable and we learned so much! We could rave all day about Bjarni and this experience, we will definitely be booking him again next time we are in Iceland!
We traveled to Iceland in December and did the south coast tour. Our tour guide was amazing! He was very knowledgeable about the locations we visited and shared stories about Iceland and his family traditions. He gave us options to stop and use the bathroom or decide when we were ready to stop for lunch. He was also a great photographer! I would definitely recommend the tour. I think the price was well worth the one to one attention and not traveling via large bus on small roads in the snow.
Bjarni was very knowledgeable and professional. He was very flexible and patient. We were traveling with a five year old and he was very accommodating and patient. He let us go at our own pace. On the drives in between the sights He told us many interesting stories about Iceland’s history and culture. 10 out of 10! Highly reccomended.
We had a great time with Bjarni on our South Coast tour. His knowledge of the area, as well as his fantastic stories, made this tour extremely memorable. Bjarni also kept us in front of the tour groups the whole day, which allowed us to see many of these sites uncrowded. As for the sites we saw on the tour, very diverse, from waterfalls to glaciers to black sand beaches.
Beautiful views and great tour guide . I like private tour .well planned stops . Our tour guide was great
This was an superb tour of the South Coast. We drove in a comfortable vehicle and our guide, Jarni, was excellent, telling us about the region, about what we saw, and telling us tales of Iceland.
My husband, myself and our 9&8 yr old kids have just got back from Iceland and want to thank Bjarni for wonderful memories! He was so knowledgeable and interesting and enjoyed his stories immensely. We did the golden circle tour and then the south coast tour. The tomato greenhouse and ice cream cow lunch stop were super! The stunning sights of waterfalls, crater, glacier and geyser were so awesome! Our son fell at the glacier and cut his knee open and Bjarni to the rescue w his medical kit:) He was so patient with all of us and stopping for bathroom breaks, snacks etc and can’t recommend him enough! The 9 and 7hr trips flew by, his vehicle was clean and he was so informative. Highly recommend to see Iceland when one is on a time crunch!
Though Iceland is overall incredible, this excursion was more than magical! Its a must.for anyone traveling to Iceland. It took a full 14 hours rountrip in a bus from the city but it was worth every moment once you arrived at the Lagoon and beach. The mystic views and natural wonders are beyond words. Your photos will tell the tale of your visual experience.
A-Ma-Zing! Our Tour Guide was a local and took us the the most spectacular sights. A must do. This was exceptional
During our short time in Iceland, we wanted to find a tour that was informative, personal, and fun. And, I’m happy to say that this is what we found when going on a tour of the South Coast with BTH Travel (privatetouriceland.com). We had much to cover (sights, information, and distance) and Bjami made sure that we did! He was a wonderful guide, sprinkling in stories about what we were seeing with information about the geography, history, and even plants along the way. We started in Reykjavík and went as far south as Vik, which was nearly 200Km one way, and yet with Bjami the time flew by. We visited several waterfalls and he was helpful in giving us tips on the best viewing areas. We enjoyed the Black Sand Beach mainly because of his knowledge of it and his story about trolls! The tour was very flexible and he listened to what we were looking for and adjusted the tour to match it. We can’t thank him enough for the tour and his insights.
