We had a great time at Golden Circle. It is a beautiful place, definitely worth visiting. The only regret was the weather. Our drive Jon is very friendly, thoughtful and knowledgeable person. With him we enjoyed the trip even more.

A private tour with Siggi of AR tours is the best way to see sites on the Golden Circle. Siggi was a good and cheerful companion, came prepared with raincoats and umbrellas, drove carefully and took us to interesting sites, some of which were unfrequented by tourists. We enjoyed talking with him over the lunch in a greenhouse, and meeting a woman who maintains a wool shop and knits sweaters. He was very helpful at every stop. Very highly recommended
We had a fabulous day with our guide, Jack. He picked us up at the hotel on time, and was knowledgable, collegial and attentive. The car was comfortable, and allowed excellent viewing as we traveled from place to place. We enjoyed tasting bread baked in the ground, and had a really lovely lunch at the Tomato Farm, with no rush to finish so we could take our time. Highly recommended experience!
What gorgeous natural beauty and scenic sights - the private tour of the Golden Circle with “Beyond Reykjavík Tours” that we booked online and were so fortunate to have Mr. Siglus Thor as our tour guide, was a delightful experience! It was superbly managed, as Mr. Thor proved not only very knowledgeable but also quite entertaining, giving us the most interesting, enjoyable and wholesome 9 hours with his expertise. He kept the mood light and fun and maintained a perfect balance of keeping time, without rushing us. We spent two days with Jon touring Reykjavík. We went to places most tourists don’t see on cruise excursions. Jon is a very safe driver and his SUV is very comfortable Make sure you stop for Iceland’s hot dog in downtown Reykjavík. The Blue Lagoon a must see to experience. Bring waterproof clothing. Highly recommended. Jon is a 12 on a 10 scale.
We had to reschedule our trip to Iceland on two occasions due to health issues and life. Jon returned our deposit even though we told him to keep it for a late cancellation. He returned it anyway which shows character. We spent two wonderful days with Jon. Very knowledgeable, super safe driver (rained) and very funny. I recommend waterproof clothes because the weather changes. We saw sites most tourists do not get a chance to see. Since we were both retired law enforcement, we wanted to visit the police department in Reykjavik and he made it happen with a personal visit. I would highly recommend Jon. I hope to return to this glorious place one day to see the Northern Lights.
When we booked this tour we chose the places we wanted to go and expected a 7-9 hour tour. Secret Lagoon was one the highlights we were most looking forward to. However, when we realized we were back in Reykjavik after only 6 hours and headed to our hotel we asked our guide, Siggy, what about Secret Lagoon and he told us it was too far out of the way. Rest of the trip was very nice and Siggy was very informative but we left Reykjavik without going to the place we most wanted to visit, Secret Lagoon.

My wife and I had two private day tours with BR Tours - Golden Circle and South Coast. Our guide Jon was absolutely wonderful. He was extremely knowledgeable and made sure we had a great time while learning about the landscape and history. While we saw all of the major stops on these tours, Jon also made sure he took us to a few hidden gems as well, away from some of the crowds. We highly recommend BR Tours for any tours in Iceland and we’ll definitely use this service again.
Too much emphasis was on our buying products at places chosen by the driver. Our driver was knowledgeable and personable but we took the trip to see the sights not to visit places we could buy souvenirs etc. and he got quite upset because we didn’t buy anything.

This was the best tour guide/driver we have ever had on a trip. Jon was extremely helpful, thorough, flexible and great to travel with. He did everything possible to make sure we enjoyed our trip and he customized it to what we wanted to do, and planned everything in advance for us with ongoing updates! In addition, he is was a thoughtful and nice guy, and such a pleasure to be around. Finally, his flexibility and rates were so much better than all of the other tours I checked out. He provided all of the transportation that we needed to/from the airport, in between hotels and to/from activities. He had a set daily rate and didn't charge extra for transporting to additional places or to multiple hotels. The activities he recommended were wonderful and he did all of the reservations for us and didn't charge extra for doing this. He also does all of the regions of Iceland. Finally, while a lot of the other tour operators required that they made the hotel reservations, he was fine with us doing that on our own. Thank you Jon for a trip of a lifetime!
Amazing experience with BR Tours. Our guide, Jon, had an inexhaustible knowledge of all things Iceland and answered every question with thoughtful, in-depth responses. Beginning with the dozens of emails we sent asking for itinerary recommendations. The tour was spread out over 3 days returning to our hotel in Reykjavik each night. First day was the Golden Circle Tour. The day was packed so Jon had to keep 4 couples on track but he did so with a pleasant and respectful demure. He even adjusted the schedule when we wanted to stay at some locations longer. Day two included the South Coast tour and was a long day from Reykjavik. We spent several hours driving in the van but we had frequent stops and Jon again adjusted the schedule to our interests. Special thanks for the hidden gem dinner spot in Vik. Last day was the icing on the cake. Jon had recommended an ATV tour and this ended up being an experience we will never forget! My husband and I just returned from a trip to Iceland with a group of great friends. While it was unforgettable for many, many reasons, Jon with BR Tours really put everything over the top for us. Jon is personable, informative and accommodating. He will take you down some back roads to find the hidden side of Iceland. While there were only two of us, he can accomodate a larger group with a different vehicle. I have already encouraged my son to contact Jon and go with a group of friends.

Our group of six had an amazing time on our private Golden Circle tour with BR Tours, booked through Viator. Every stop on the tour had the most incredible stunning sights. Our driver/tour guide Siggi was very informative, accommodating & friendly as well as an excellent, safe driver. Siggi never rushed us. We were able to tour all sights at our own pace. We also had a wonderful relaxing lunch at the cute and cozy tomato/ horse farm. Jon from BR Tours was my initial contact and responded to all questions without delay. Jon actually met up with us at the waterfall area of the tour to provide our group with crampons so that we could safely walk on the icy pathways. We really appreciated BR Tours going above & beyond which made for a most memorable experience.

We had, what can only be described as, a magical day with our tour guide Jon. Jon is extremely knowledgeable, friendly, and thoughtful in his tour. We went in without many expectations and by the end of the day had fallen in love with the beauty of Iceland. We even passed Jon’s business card along to our hotel front desk (the Retreat Hotel) with a great reference for others staying there. By the end of the day we felt like we had a new friend in Jon. Definitely worth it.
I cannot say enough AMAZING things about Jon. Normally I plan our international trips myself and my husband drives while I navigate, but with the late November shorter days and possible bad weather, we decided to go the guided route. No amount of my planning could have equaled Jon’s knowledge, experience, great photo-taking skills, and fun demeanor. We did one day along the Southern Coast and one day along the Golden Circle. We saw all the major spots, plus ones off the beaten trail. Throughout both days Jon answered all our questions and sprinkled in information that helped us really feel we captured the culture of Iceland. Use Jon-you will not regret it!!

Egill is exceptionally knowledgeable about Iceland’s past and present. His tour included a scenic drive alongside Þingvallavatn and other fascinating points of interest (I contend the inventor of geothermal hydroponics should have a holiday or at least a prize named in their honor) in addition to the “must-see” stops along the Golden Circle. Whether your interest is Viking history, natural beauty, or locations from your favorite TV and movies, Egill is your man!
We booked this one day Great Circle of Iceland tour at the back end of a cruise ending in Reykjavík. Jon picked us up at our hotel in a roomy Toyota Land Cruiser and we covered all the great sites in Northern Iceland. This included the geothermal steam fields, the blue river, the tomato soup hothouse, the Gullfoss waterfalls, the geysers, and many more wonderful places. The place where the tectonic plates are separating was amazing. In our two week trip including beautiful Norway fjords this has been our favorite day!

This tour was amazing! The car was very comfortable and we could do everything on our own pace. We learned so much about iceland and we saw amazing places. This was a terrific tour! Our guide was personable and we were able to hit all the major spots. We were even more impressed that they were able to arrange a tour on super short notice. Our original plans for the day were canceled the evening before, so we booked this tour with our fingers crossed they'd actually show up, and they did. Highly recommend!
I cannot say enough great things about Jon! I planned this trip last minute and saw Jon in a YouTube video with another couple. We thought we would reach out to him to see if he could offer us a 1 day Golden Circle tour. We ended up having him with us for 4 days total - Golden Circle, Southern Coast, and Reykjanes Peninsula. We absolutely would not have seen as much as we did without him and he showed us a lot of hidden gems as well along the way. Jon took us to the "usual" spectacular spots on the Golden Circle -- the Great Geyser, Gullfoss, Secret Lagoon, Fontana -- and also a couple of spots that are off the beaten path that we wouldn't have seen on a larger tour: an amazing quarry where beautiful volcanic sediment is being mined, an incredible tomato hothouse, and other memorable spots. Jon is incredibly knowledgeable and personable. It was a real joy to spend a day with him and we felt like we'd received a very special perspective on this incredible area.

We so enjoyed the private tour. The van was great (a new Mercedes Sprinter) and our tour guide, Egill, customized the tour for us along the way allowing us to see the things we found most interesting. Any amazing sights and photo ops. The tomato farm and restaurant was not on our radar but ended up being one of the highlights of the tour. Highly recommend.

My family of 6 had the most incredible trip together in Iceland this past Easter weekend(2023) and we have Jon of BR Tours to credit. We decided to spend quality family time together without any other tourists to interfere in our experiences. His warm, welcoming, friendly and relaxed personality was exactly what my family needed on this trip. We were able to completely chill out in his luxurious and roomy Mercedes Splinter Van. Without us having to drive and navigate the roads, we could sit back and take in Iceland’s amazing scenery. The van also allowed us to comfortably change in it as the weather switched from site to site(rain, sun, wind). As you can see, Jon beautifully captured our time together with picturesque photos that we will cherish. A once in a lifetime trip with a great guide and true gentleman. I booked 3 Private Day Trips through Jon (Golden Circle Tour, Thorsmark and the Glacier Lagoon) and he knocked it out of the park on all 3 excursions. He is incredibly responsive, and tailored the trips to my teenage boys and their need for adventure. The two tour guides he arranged for us were superb. Lena took us through the Golden Circle and she was knowledgable but also so much fun to spend the day. Siggy then took us on our tour of the south coast and took us to places we never would have been able to experience if not for traveling with him. He also entertained us with stories of the country throughout our time with him. The next day we drove to the Glacier Lagoon, and experienced an incredible Zodiac Boat Tour which Jon explained was a MUST SEE (and boy was he right). Book him and explain what you are looking for in your vacation and he will do the rest. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!

Jon was a tremendous guide from our first contact (7 months prior to arrival) through pick up and our day long tour. Inquisitive clients like me can (I’m told) get annoying with many question. Jon handled each question like a pro, providing clear answers each time. We made a few stops off the regular tour—he is very open to customizing. He maximized our tour to take advantage of the light (sunrise at 10:30) comfortable ride, incredible insights and memories!
