Booked an 8 day tour of the Golded Circle with Hidden Iceland. Every piece of the tour ( car, hotels, tours, transportation) was completely seamless. I would recommend Scott and Rita at Hidden Iceland to anyone.
We (two couples) traveled to Iceland in August 2026, partially to experience the solar eclipse. After an 8-day ocean cruise around Iceland, we stayed 4 extra days in Reykjavik. We thoroughly enjoyed our time in Iceland, and the two days we spent with our guide, Kristjón, were spectacular! He was a wonderful guide: knowledgeable, warm and thoughtful. He clearly had the support of everyone in the Hidden Iceland office backing him up for the changing eclipse day logistics - they kept on top of all the weather and traffic updates to take us to the best vantage point. Kristjón even saved the day before by helping me rent a bathing suit at Sky Lagoon when I realized (that day!) that I didn't have mine. Last-minute eclipse day logistics meant we had to transition from a restaurant to a packed lunch, and the office arranged for a delicious (and enormous) array of sandwiches, beverages and snacks. All communication before and during our trip was swift, friendly and helpful. We highly recommend Hidden Iceland and Kristjón to anyone traveling to Iceland!
We spent two days in Reykjavik and then spent 9 days touring around the island with a private guide. We found it to be an amazing and very enjoyable trip! Fannar, our guide, was wonderful. He made the trip go smoothly and added additional stops and activities as we desired including a bit of fishing and golf. He was so easy to get along with and, of course, is very knowledgeable. We were pleased with our accommodations. Our two initial days in Reykjavik were wonderful. Our driver gave us his top recommendations for things to do on our first day. Our food and drink tour were great and the guide was fun. We went to 3 different spas including the Sky, Forest, and Blue Lagoons and all were great experiences. Iceland is an amazing country! Highlights for us were seeing the glaciers, waterfalls, different wildlife, the lava formations, horseback riding, picturesque scenery, the restaurants, and the lava tunnels. We felt that Hidden Iceland did a great job and we would certainly recommend it to others.
Emilia was simply amazing in every way! Incredible knowledge, attention to detail and took care of our every need! Highly recommend this tour and experience!
Our 7-night winter journey through Iceland was nothing short of extraordinary. Nina did a wonderful job planning the trip and making sure all of our planning needs were thoughtfully met from the very beginning. The itinerary was beautifully designed and clearly tailored to our family. Winter travel in Iceland requires flexibility, and every time weather or timing shifted, Einar adjusted seamlessly. We were always in the right place at the right time without ever feeling stressed or rushed. His calm confidence made us feel completely taken care of. The experiences were exceptional — exploring breathtaking canyons, going backstage at the Lava Show, and arranging private geology sessions that absolutely thrilled our geology-obsessed 80-year-old grandmother. These weren’t generic stops; they felt intentional and deeply personal. What stood out most was how genuinely Einar took the time to get to know us. From engaging our grandmother in detailed geological conversations to gently motivating our famously hard-to-wake teenager, he connected with each of us in a way that felt natural and sincere. By the end of the week, he felt far more like a friend than a guide. He also made our daughter’s 15th birthday in Iceland unforgettable. Three generations, one incredible adventure — and truly a trip of a lifetime for all of us. We cannot imagine experiencing Iceland any other way.
Pre-planning and email correspondence with Hidden Iceland was great. We knew what to expect, when payments were due and our itinerary, all of which was really helpful for our planning. Their itinerary was brilliant, an excellent selection of hotels, restaurants and activities to suit all the different ages and abilities in our group. We were all so very impressed with Levi as our tour guide. His knowledge of Iceland's culture, history, landscapes and even geology really added something special to the trip. We really appreciated his flexibility in accommodating our group and letting us spend time in each location, while still managing to show us everything on the list. We also have a lot of praise for your 'subcontractors' such as Paul at the ATVs and Michal on the glacier. They were well organised and accommodated our large group well, with all our different levels of skill. All in all a brilliant family holiday!
Our trip to Iceland was absolutely excellent. The itinerary Hidden Iceland curated worked perfectly for us - we saw everything we wanted to see and were fortunate enough to witness amazing northern lights each night of the tour. The accommodations were wonderful, and ending our trip at the Blue Lagoon was the perfect choice. It gave us a relaxing way to conclude the journey while making the commute back to the airport incredibly easy. I have to give special recognition to our guide Fannar - he was outstanding. His knowledge of Iceland was impressive, and his flexibility in adapting to our interests really enhanced the experience. We couldn't have asked for a better guide. Thank you again for designing such a memorable trip for our family. We truly appreciated all the care and attention you put into the planning.
First-time visit to Iceland. Amazing experience with the Hidden Iceland staffs. First visited the Southern Coast on the first day, then we visited the Golden Circle and finished in the Blue Lagoon. Amazing service and support from the Hidden Iceland staff. Highly recommend
Just perfect! Our guide Einmar was so funny and professional, the whole day was packed but easy to follow. Lunch is great as well
Einar was great! We just felt like it wasn’t really worth the $220 USD per person price tag, hence the four stars. Overall we had a great experience and Einar was a great guide - we just take issue with the pricing.
Our guide, Luftor, was great. He was warm and friendly and seemed to genuinely enjoy each of the sites and sharing them with our small group. Each of the sites was special but the tour of the tomato greenhouse with lunch inside was especially unique.
Hidden Iceland guide Robert gave a superb narrative and fantastic Golden Circle tour! The day was absolutely perfect. I learned a lot and left with an unforgettable experience. I highly recommend!
We had the best time on this tour. From the communication before the tour started to our great tour guide Levi. We were a faily large group of 7 cousins traveling together and he was able to wrangle us easily. The stops were beautiful and he went out of his way to show us what he thought we would all be interested in. I would highly recommend not only Levi but Hidden Iceland for your tours !! We wish we would have booked more thru them.
Levi was an incredibly thoughtful, fun, and entertaining guide. He shared really interesting information about living in Iceland based on his experience as a Hungarian migrant. Informative and jovial!
I didn't think I would love tomato soup as much as I did at the greenhouse lunch, but it was divine. I don't love tomatoes, but I loved these tomatoes and it pained my soul to leave that place. Were it not for the limits of my mortal body I would have consumed my weight in soup and bread. The hot springs were great, the water fall and geyser both majestic, but finishing at the national park was perfect. The view at the end of the trail our guide took us to was one of those moments that will just fix in your mind for years to come. Imagine a setting sun, sky of light blue with silver edges, and in the background, below you in the distance, a mirror lake, flanked by mountains, with a green island in the middle. It doesn't matter if you don't get a good nights rest before this tour, because every stop is a magical draft of glacial water that awakes your soul.
The guide was outstanding and very accommodating to the groups needs Wonderful trip Amelia was super! She gave us plenty of time at each spot and had great Commentary along the route that kept Our attention
Levi was the best guide we had in Iceland (of 3 tours). Informative, funny and always taking care the group was enjoying the experiences. Excellent variety of stops and all added to our knowledge of Iceland. Tour is highly recommended!
Our tour guide, Ragnarok, was phenomenal. He was friendly and informative and told us stories about his life in Iceland, making each part of the trip that much better. At each stop, he was clear about how to make the best of our time and accompanied us when we needed it. We had a wet and rainy day, and thanks to our guide, none of that detracted from the experience. In fact, he provided rain pants and jackets to all of us so that we would be more comfortable during the long day. That was totally unexpected and made a huge difference! The Secret Lagoon rents towels and provides all showering products there, so it is not necessary for you to bring your own. You will not be disappointed at the Tomato Greenhouse - just the visit itself would be worth the trip, but then the food... omg!! I don't even like tomatoes, but this was on a whole other level. Oh, and the bread was swoon-worthy! The landscape, scenery, geysers, really everything was unforgettable and I give Hidden Iceland and Ragnork my highest recommendation.
We did the small group golden circle tour with Hidden Iceland. It was a great tour. Procop our guide was friendly and knowledgeable. Gullfoss was amazing. Procop even arranged for an additional stop to try the geothermal bread due to my curiosity.
From the Secret Lagoon to the tomato farm to all the natural beauty the Golden Circle has to offer, this was an unforgettable experience. Levy was a great guide, and as a female solo traveler, I felt so welcome as part of the group. Highly recommend this experience to anyone visiting Iceland!
My wife and I used Hidden Iceland for 2 days of private tours to the South Coast and Golden Circle. Our tour guide, Robert, was an absolute rock star. We couldn’t have asked for more. Robert’s knowledge and love for Iceland was contagious, and we left feeling a true connection to the country. In booking our trip, we requested a balance of seeing the “usual” amazing spots and some places off the beaten path. Robert delivered on both fronts, including timing our visits to the most popular attractions in a way that made them much more manageable. Hidden Iceland was well organized with every step, and we would highly recommend them (and Robert!!).
This was one of the best tours we’ve ever taken. Levi was a great guide…very informative and thorough. He’s very knowledgeable and takes his job seriously. He’s done a lot of research to prepare for his tours. Each stop was very different and enjoyable. Loved the lagoon…incredible experience! The tomato farm was unique and the food was delicious (especially the bread)! The waterfalls were amazing especially being able to get so close to feel the spray. The geysers and tectonic plates were very interesting. The National Park was beautiful! Highly recommend this tour!
Awesome tour. Awesome trip. Matej is amazing. Informative. Sweet. Funny. It was great. I would do this again and will recommend to all my friends. Thank you Mattej and Hidden Iceland.
The guide Mat was great and gave good descriptions of the places we visited. The tour was all day with a group of 12, was well paced and gave plenty of time to walk. Great tour.
Traveling with my 70~ y/o mom on her first trip outside the US, I was looking for a communicative, high value, all day small group tour. We opted for the "Golden Circle, Secret Lagoon and Tomato Greenhouse Lunch Tour", led by Kristian, which was fantastic. Pickup was 2 blocks from our house and we were joined by 8 other folk. Kristian was very kind, supportive, and helpful with my mom's slight mobility issues. Each stop wonderful, beautiful, and we frequently were "Salmon-flow" to the big tour buses (which I prefer). The Tomato restaurant was delicious, fresh, and interesting. The sights were breathtaking. The (not so) Secret Lagoon was refreshing. They had a brand new, super fancy, very comfortable sprinter van with wifi and USB-A & USB-C charging ports at our seats. I'd definitely recommend Hidden Iceland to friends heading to the area, and would happily use them again.
We had such an amazing private group tour with Hidden Iceland. We celebrated our mother's 75th birthday by taking a four day family vacation in June 2024. Everything was carefully arranged and thought out. Our tour guide Levi was considerate, kind, enthusiastic, and of course incredibly knowledgable. When he didn't know the answer, he said "Let me look it up," or "I'll ask my colleagues in the office." Levi clearly loves his job, and his love of Iceland and learning was infectious. I can't recommend this company highly enough. The itinerary was fun and accessible for all the people in our group, and Levi was a rockstar.
Hidden Iceland is top notch. Our family of 7 took a ten day golden circle tour in a very comfortable Mercedes tour van. We did and saw so much! Geothermal sites, a glacier hike, canyon climbing, tomato greenhouses, cold water snorkeling and fishing. Our guide, Prokop was amazing! He shared his love of Iceland with passion and demonstrated a keen understanding of local legends, Icelandic sagas, geothermal energy, geology, glaciology and fishing (to name a few) His driving was competent (we never felt un safe on narrow Icelandic roads) and he was great at getting us checked into accommodations and seeing to our meal reservations. He even managed to quickly have my son seen by a doctor when he developed tonsillitis. You can’t go wrong with Hidden Iceland!
A 10 hour bus trip was not on my to do list , but this was a very enjoyable day. The best thing other than the amazing visual delights (geysers, waterfalls and the lagoon) was the driver Mike from the Czech Republic who made the day one to rember. He has a story about everything. The tomato 🍅 soup at the lunch break is fantastic.
By far one of my favorite tours in Reykjavík. Wonderful guide the tomato farm is one of a kind and the food is heavenly. Highly recommend buying the cucumber salsa at the farm. The godfoss waterfall is spectacular. The secret lagoon is one of a kind. The tomato farm accommodates gluten free, dairy free, vegan and whatever allergies you might have. Truly phenomenal experience
This is a great way to see the Golden Circle. Our guide, Emilia, was delightful and set just the right tone. She was knowledgeable, funny, enthusiastic and looked after us so well. We were a small group of 12 and although our trip was on a day when some large cruise ship bus tours were also on the route, our tour always felt personal and Emilia made it a special day. Some highlights were finding the hot spots in the Secret Lagoon (you'll find out!) and visiting the greenhouse for a delicious lunch - before we went we were sceptical about the greenhouse visit, but the refills of tasty tomato soup definitely convinced us!
Our Golden Circle tour was wonderful, of course (waterfalls, hot springs, special and delicious lunch), but It’s the tour guide that sets the tone. Einar was awesome. He communicates in a way that brings people out. It’s no fun to tour with people that are duds, but Einar makes everyone glad to be there and have fun with each other.
Our tourguide Einar was fantastic with great knowledge of more or less everything. The tour by itself was great when you have one day to explore the island. Thank you Einar for a trip beyond expectations.
Amelia made the tour very special. It was a wonderful day with weird weather and great views. We started at the secret lagoon and did the circle opposite of most people. This helped to reduce the crowds. I really appreciated this.
This one seems to cover many of the same spots as similar tours but in reverse and with the lunch at the tomato farm. Those seem like worthwhile differences as the lagoon and national park were not as busy as we'd expected. Our host and driver, Fannar was funny, affable, knowledgable and a thoughtful driver. The small 11-seater coach was comfy and ideal for solo travellers like me as well as couples. The stops are well established on the tourist trail but its still handy to have a guide you can ask questions of. Not just about the specific locations but on Icelandic culture. I chose Hidden Iceland for another tour the next day and am glad I did - they clearly know how to do good small-group tours.
We had an exceptional experience with our knowledgeable guide Fennar. Enjoyed expansive, stunning views and waterfalls; secret lagoon with feet-soothing lava gravel (you'll see); and lunch at the tomato greenhouse (much cooler than it may sound). Highly recommended.
Just enough time at each stop to enjoy but not get bored. Great variety and selection of local attractions
Great golden circle tour with Martin. Super informative with a fantastic lunch at the tomato greenhouse. Stunning geyser and just jaw dropping landscape. Small group.
A great day trip, taking in the main golden circle sights but with the added bonus of a dip in the secret lagoon and a lovely lunch inside the tomato greenhouse (with a short talk about the farm). Our guide, Arne, was great, sharing information and stories as we went along. Our bus, (Freddy) was also great with huge windows, WiFi and comfy seats with belts. Getting to the secret lagoon early is great, as we avoided the very busy time. The stops in the afternoon were amazing, all the usuals on the main tour, so not particularly 'hidden' but the small group tour made it feel more personal. Thank you so much for taking us to see some of your beautiful island.
We spent a week in Iceland with Hidden Iceland. They planned our trip from start to finish - transfers to and from the airport, accommodation, and all the tours we did. The week away was honestly one of the best we’ve ever had - Trip Advisor should create a 6 star category just for this operator. And it’s also a perfect destination for parents and their sometimes (?) difficult to keep entertained teenage kids. First the service - Agata (who organised everything) was really great. Her communication was excellent and she tailored everything to what we wanted, giving very good advice, including changing a day’s plans late on due to the eruption. Everything was on time and as planned all week and she always contacted us when she said she would. The accommodation options were also good - Reykjavik Saga and Fosshotel in Reykholt. Second the tours - we did two small group tours, ‘Fire and Ice’ and ‘Golden Circle’. Both were great days and our guides Ragnar and Chris knowledgeable, attentive, and funny. We’d recommend both of them. We then did a private tour for 3 days to places like Reykholt, on and in a glacier, to beautiful waterfalls, hot springs, a goat farm, and a stables where we saw Icelandic horses (tip: don’t call them ponies or you can offend people 😆). On the last day we went around the Snaefellsnes Peninsula - this was because the Blue Lagoon was closed due to the eruption - but we lucked out as it was stunning. I’d urge you to visit this ‘mini Iceland’. I want to save the best for last though - our guide for this part of the trip was Loftur - man and legend - I hope you are lucky enough to get him to show you around such a beautiful country. He stayed up late one night so he could call us when the Northern Lights came out - it means we saw them at 1am. Now that is 6-star service. I don’t usually write reviews like this but it was truly excellent. Thanks Hidden Iceland for the trip of a lifetime.
This was an amazing Trip! Our Guide Loftur was extremely knowledgeable, made the trip interesting and we had unlimited photo and video opportunities on this trip.
Honestly this is the best tour operator we have ever come across. The small luxury mini bus is such a comfort and safe way to see this beautiful Country
Unlike anything you've experienced. This is a huge greenhouse with at restaurant. What a departure from the stark landscape outside! Our guide, Einar, helped us with menu selections to share. The bread and soup would be worth a visit alone! Everything we ordered was exceptional. Even the odd sounding tomato beer was delish. The service was prompt and friendly and the ambience was fabulous. A once in a lifetime experience.
What a relaxed day 😊 Filled with the best sights , lovely people and sun. Robin was our guide and he was just perfect. He had the right mixture between informations and humour
My second time doing this particular tour and enjoyed it even more - if that's possible! Hidden Iceland have got it down to a fine art... highly recommended
I first want to mention that our guide was Robert, and while we had a wonderful itinerary, and great sights to see, he made the trip truly extra special. Robert has a genuine desire to make sure each participant has the best experience. He is patient, very professional, very knowledgeable, a very safe driver, and it is evident that he very much enjoys what he does each day. He also tailored the itinerary a bit to avoid crowds (of course, checking with us for approval) for which we were all very grateful. I’m also going to make mention of the music. Oh, and I forgot to mention that Robert is generous, as well! At lunch, he knew I was really torn between the ravioli and the tomato soup. Shortly after his meal arrived, he handed me a plate with a significant amount of ravioli on it. He insisted that I have it~ so I indulged…and I enjoyed every bite! How kind is that!? I’m also going to review the company, overall, because even from my very first correspondence months ago, with Emilie, I’ve received nothing less than excellent communication. And from our first phone call, I was quite certain that this was the company I was going to choose for my GC tour. But, because I leave no stone unturned, I spoke with many folks at different companies, as I was traveling solo and wanted to make sure I felt safe (as well as relaxed) during the periods of being in route. The tour itinerary does not feel rushed at all, there is ample time at each stop. And, at least in my opinion, everyone I dealt with seemed to take great pride in providing an excellent experience for their guests. This was a short trip, and every moment was precious. Hidden Iceland did not disappoint, in fact, they even exceeded my expectations. I may be returning in the spring, and I’m already looking into another tour with them. And, while I had never even considered it, Robert just may have convinced me to get on a glacier hike with Hidden Iceland! Thank you to you all for a 5 Star experience!
This is my second Golden Circle Tour in slightly over a decade, and by far the best. I was traveling with a friend that had never been to Iceland, so I researched carefully to get a company that seemed a bit smaller, given the armies of tour operators for Golden Circle tours available. They keep the group small and we actually had two guides that day - Amelia and Arna (Hidden Iceland does shadowing with guides as a way to help build their skillsets I guess). They both were excellent. One thing they did was consider the order of when they were taking us to different sites, so we could get good photos or be in a location when it was not as crowded. Example - we went to the Secret Lagoon last in the day. It was less crowded and was a great way to unwind after touring all day. They keep the groups small as well, and while no one likes being trapped in a van with 17 strangers for nine hours, it was made far more tolerable by having a smaller vehicle, breaking up the trip, and even having a lunch in a tomato greenhouse. That stop which I wasn’t planning on being interested in turned out to be really neat and lunch was lovely. Both guides were very engaging and good conversationalists - they didn’t just stick to memorized stale content. 100% recommend!!
What an amazing tour! Had the most amazing day making memories seen the beautiful scenes of Iceland. Could not recommend this tour more, it is worth every penny. Chris was our tour guide in the day, he was filled with so much knowledge and made the tour even better!
I took this tour with my husband and 8 year old daughter. We all loved the tour and Robert our tour guide was especially great with our daughter
Took Reykjavik Outventure for this tour. The sights were stunning and the tomato farm was worth visiting! I highly recommend this trip!! Our tour guide/driver Michal was outstanding!! Loved every moment of this trip and would love to do it again with the same tour guide (Michal)
