Northern Lights Small Group Tour From Reykjavik

Our drivers were awful. No interaction whatsoever, not even good night. You take peoples money even when you know there is no chance of seeing the Northern Lights. I wouldn’t dream of doing this tour again, it was torture. A refund would be in order.

We saw them. Out of season but we trusted our guides and the universe and we were so lucky. Also got some shooting stars. It was so magical. Bit of eating around but that was for it to get dark. I guess a later pick up wouldbt work as they collect from a few different spots. But had a blast and made my holiday complete Thank you.

Awesome Experience! They did a great job finding the best spot to view the Northern Lights! Hot Cocoa was a nice added bonus!

We were very disappointed that we did not see the Northern Lights on our tour. The sky was clear, but we found out that there is only a moderate chance of seeing them at the end of August. In our opinion, this tour should not be offered until later in the year when the chances of seeing them is greater. The driver was fun and provided a lot of information about Iceland, but it’s a lot of money to pay to not receive a glimpse of the lights. I would definitely not recommend this tour at the time we went, which was on August 31.

Tour was a small group. They drove around to various sites to see the Northern Lights. We were able to see them. The brochure said coffee, tea and hot chocolate would be provided. There was only hot chocolate. Also, they only had 2 blankets available between two vehicles and it was a cold night. More were needed. It was our guides first night and she did a good job but she needed to have a microphone as it was hard to hear her in the van.

What a complete waste of money. It is unethical to charge people $200-some dollars with the false advertising of northern lights if you have a cloudy evening like we did. Viator needs to cancel the trip much earlier in the day. Shame on them!

Nature always wins. The lights were sparse. Drivers kept trying, but they were elusive. Hot chocolate was tasty.

Bundle up! Trust that the weather will likely change often and you might get lucky, like us! Yummy treats too. Guide Barny/the bear was very sweet and knowledgeable, provided interesting stories and history.

Barney was a great tour guide and gave us a wealth of knowledge of Icelandic history and culture! A comfortable round trip to the Northern Lights and I highly recommend!

Be patient! You may not see the Northern lights at the first location your tour guide goes to. Baldwin, our tour guide went to four different locations and on the fourth location we saw the Northern lights. The colors were green, purple and shades of pink. Baldwin was the was the best! He was very determined we were going to see something. Baldwin was knowledgeable and engaging with us. The hot chocolate and blankets were welcoming. It was extremely cold that night even late March, so dress WARM!

Your driver knew exactly where to go for the most activity. They had no problem when asked to take pictures. They were great.

Absolutely loved this experience! Our guide did an awesome job navigating the lights. We were sure to see some and we were so thankful!

Bus was not overly booked, communication was wonderful when they had to rebook due to low chances to see the lights. Guide was enthusiastic and knowledgeable. We got lucky with seeing the lights right away. 😁

Just came back from my Northern Lights Tour with Diego & Greco and they did a FABULOUS job! I was concerned we wouldn't see any but they stopped at several different places and we saw them each time. They also took great pictures of us and sent them right away. They had great attitudes and were patient and friendly. Highly recommend!

I've been coming to Iceland for 12+ years - and I'd never seen the Northern Lights until I took this tour! I've been married to an Icelander, and we live abroad but come over 1-2 times a year. I've been here many times, but never seen the aurora, despite trying and being here at times when activity was great and the weather fantastic. Still: didn't happen. So believe me when I say I was sceptical this would break the trend. And yet, having such a knowledgeable and friendly guide made all the difference. He knew exactly when to look where, had a couple of tricks up his sleeve (and almost more importantly: hot drinks and snacks to keep us out in the freezing January cold). And with his help, on a less than perfect day, I finally saw them! An amazing experience, and one I'm very grateful to Gestur and his team for.

I would thoroughly recommend this trip!! We had an experienced guide who took us out to 2 locations to see the Northern lights which we did! Hot drinks and pastries were provided and we also had plenty of photos taken which were shared via a link the next day. Other travellers had their tours cancelled the same day due to low probability of seeing the lights so we were so glad we opted for this specific trip!

Nothing could have prepared me for the moment the Northern Lights appeared. The sky turned into a living painting of greens and purples, and I just stood there, completely mesmerized. Jonas, our guide, made sure we had the best experience driving us to the perfect spot, keeping us warm with hot chocolate, and sharing stories that made the night even more magical. If you’re in Iceland, don’t miss this!

At first, the sky was dark, and we started to lose hope, but Gestur kept us positive, saying, “Just wait, Iceland always delivers.” And he was right. Out of the darkness, the aurora began to dance, shifting and shimmering like something from a fairytale. I felt like the luckiest person in the world! This wasn’t just a tour; it was a life changing experience.

Iceland already had me in love, but this tour sealed the deal. The anticipation, the cold, the excitement. It was all worth it when the lights finally appeared. Arni led us to a quiet spot, away from the crowds, and suddenly, green waves started moving across the sky. I had tears in my eyes. It was a dream come true! Thank you, Arni, for making this night so special.

The trip was awesome. The guide was knowledgeable , but unworthy of the trust customers repose in him for their safety.

Absolutely amazing experience! Arnie our tour guide was fabulous and very experienced. We went to 4 different places and saw the lights at 3 of them. There were only 7 of us in total so felt like a private tour. The hot chocolate and cinnamon rolls were very welcome in the biting wind.

I had an incredible experience on the Northern Lights minibus tour. The small group setting made for a personalised adventure. Our guide, Jonas, was knowledgeable, shared fascinating facts about the aurora borealis. We were taken to a perfect viewing spot away from city lights which was great. Seeing the lights was truly unforgettable! I also appreciated the warm beverages and blankets provided, which added to the comfort. Highly recommended for anyone looking to witness this natural wonder!
