Amazing tour Denis tour guide and driver was brilliant. Full of history and knowledge of Iceland so got to know the history of Iceland which was good. Gave enough information about each place we were visiting. Blue lagoon was amazing more than enough time in their.

Itinerary
Our tour takes you to the countryside away from the city lights. Clear, cloud-free skies are an essential componant of any succesful aurora tour. We may need to try a few different locations before finding success. While you await the aurora, our guide will entertain you with tales of old Iceland and the folklore and tall tales used at the time to explain this once mysterious phenomenon.

Our Northern Lights tour was a wonderful experience and a great success! Our guide, Ottar, was incredibly kind, friendly and helpful. He also shared lots of interesting facts and fun stories throughout the tour, making us laugh and creating a fantastic, cheerful atmosphere. He even took the time to help me capture some beautiful photos of the Northern Lights, which made the experience even more special. Both Ottar and our driver were highly professional and truly dedicated to their work. Unfortunately, I can't remember the driver's name, but he was from Poland. They both put a lot of effort into finding the best possible location, where we had the greatest chance of seeing the Northern Lights as the clouds cleared. Their commitment, patience, enthusiasm and great sense of humour made all the difference. We are very grateful for such a fantastic experience and would highly recommend this tour to anyone hoping to witness the magic of the Northern Lights!
It was fine. The weather is unpredictable so I cannot complain about that but I think I could’ve skip this tour. We were giving the chance to rebook the experience as our guide herself said this was her worst experience to date but I saw the Northern Lights outside my hotel for free 2 days later and it was beautifully.
Great experience overall. Saw some spectacular lights and the hot chocolate was great. Would recommend.
I didn't learn until later that some of these companies will take you out even if they know there is no chance of seeing the Northern Lights. Tour guide was awkward, didn't see the lights and there wasn't even any hot chocolate. I'd recommend you look elsewhere.
What an amazing experience. Our guide was very hands on and personable. Made the entire trip enjoyable and even sang us a song at the end.
The guide, Mika (apologies if I misspelt it) was super enthusiastic and extremely knowledgeable. He was great.
It was great that we were able to go to multiple locations in search of the lights. We lucked out and got great photos in two locations!
It was great fun! Bundle up…the wind and cold can be fierce. Our guide was wonderful and the guide great.
Our tour guide and bus driver were amazing. If I’m not mistaken I think the Tour guides name was Ed or Edu. He kept us informed as to the possibilities of seeing the aurora borealis, which was definitely worth the experience. And he took some amazing photos.
We were able to take wonderful Photos of the northern lights the first two stops of the tour. Albert & Sharp were great guides!
Absolutely wonderful experience, short and sweet, definitely a must do! You'll love the experience, I guarantee.
Despite note seeing the Northern Lights, I still greatly enjoyed the tour. The guide was very knowledgeable and the driver was professional. We were given the opportunity to rebook for another night but I won’t be in the country after tomorrow.
We had the best experience! Of course it’s unpredictable what you will see but we were so lucky and got an amazing Aurora show! Our tour guide was so knowledgeable and made the overall experience once in a lifetime!
It was confusing trying to find our bus because there were at least 5 at the same pickup spot. No accessible bathrooms during 4 hour tour. Ticket said hot chocolate included and that was never mentioned. Tour guide was boring and gave very little information and at times seemed like he didnt know what he was supposed to be talking about. We didn't get to see the lights but that's no one's fault that's the risk you take with nature.
Very well organised, excellent communication throughout. Entertaining guide, just a shame we didn't see the Northern Lights! 🙈
Great guide with valuable information. Nice clean car and enjoyable ride.
The lights were incredible. Unfortunately, the coach ride was extremely uncomfortable due to the layout of the seats. Crammed like sardines is an understatement. We were unfortunate enough to be at the back, where 5 fully grown adults are expected to squeeze in. It made for a very uncomfortable journey.
It was i nice trip. Very friendly and funny crew. The lights where good to catch. Had blue, nearly not to see shape. But if you have the right camera adjustment, you will have beautiful pictures. I had a confusing pick up point info. But everything worked out easy.
A great night seeing the Northern Lights, lots of viewings at different locations. Denis the tour guide was amazing with telling us facts & offering to take photos at each stop! Hot Chocolate warmed us up!
We absolutely loved this Northern Lights tour and would definitely recommend it! We were lucky enough to see the lights and felt so blessed to experience something so beautiful, but keep in mind that the Northern Lights are a natural phenomenon, so sightings are never guaranteed. We just got lucky! A few tips for anyone going: bundle up because it gets REALLY cold! The hot chocolate definitely hit the spot and was such a nice touch. Also, make sure you’re ready on time because our guide showed up right on time for pickup. Lastly, I highly recommend booking a tour rather than trying to drive yourself, especially since it can be very dark and difficult to navigate at night. Overall, it was an amazing experience, and we’re so glad we booked this tour. Definitely recommend!
We see the northern light our tour guide and driver is very patience of looking for the best spot to see them.
We had a nice time. Our guide sharp was really enthusiastic and amazing! It was a chaotic time at the bus stop with all the people but once we were on board it was smooth sailing. The lights were beautiful and it was a once in a lifetime experience!
This activity had two parts for me. The first time we had Harold. He was in a bit of a rush and he had no backup as a guide and unfortunately we were not able to see the lights. The second one we las Svelana. Her and the drivers were absolutely amazing. They both were caring, communicating well during the trip and making sure everyone was safe. I will keep the five starts because the company communicated well with me even after a few cancellations due to bad weather. They rescheduled me several times and allowed me enough time between the beginning of the tour and the cancellation for me to plan other activities.
We had a really good experience seeing the northern lights. Kristie our guide was great and really informative throughout - sharing stories and interesting facts about Iceland alongside the northern lights. We had a great night and got some amazing views and pictures. Would highly recommend!
Brilliant experience, worth every penny
Surreal experience, really worth it & the guides were very informative
Amazing. Punctual and worth the experience
We were patient because at first was a bit cloudy. The northern lights were amazing!
dream come true in iceland realy good
would not recommend! Waste of money and time. The weather was poor (overcast and raining) and they continued to send us out. As soon as we got on the bus our tour guide told us we wouldn’t see the lights but then we were trapped for 4 hours knowing we weren’t going to see anything. Hugely disappointing and when requesting my money back they have refused. They said I could book another day but we flew home the next day. Our driver was RECKLESS! Legit speeding the whole time and had to slam on the brakes because he almost hit a sheep. And “cup” of hot chocolate… more like a sip.
The tour guides were amazing and genuinely did their best to help us see the Northern Lights. However, I think the company needs to do a better job of setting realistic expectations. Cloud coverage can significantly impact visibility, and even when the lights are visible, they may look nothing like the bright, vibrant images advertised. Rather than being overly optimistic, I think guests should be given an honest assessment of their chances. If visibility is extremely low, rescheduling should be encouraged instead of spending hours searching with little hope of seeing anything. Unfortunately, on one of our tours, our bus was also involved in an accident. While everyone was safe, I was disappointed that the company never followed up to acknowledge the incident or check on our well-being. Overall, I appreciated the guides and their efforts, but the company could improve its communication, transparency, and customer care.
The bus trip was lovely. We got to see some amazing aurora and the hot chocolate was divine. Tour guide was attentive and we met some lovely fellow travellers on the trip.
Unfortunately we didn’t see them I was booked twice to give it an another shot. However I don’t think we drove out far enough perhaps a private tour would’ve been more flexible and able to go to less populated places..Tour guide was friendly
Dont go with high expectation. Weather changes constantly. This tour should have been cancelled? It was cloudy and raining.
Tour bus was massive. People taking each others seats. Dont be at the last pickup stop or you are guaranteed not to sit together. Went to two sites with lots of other tours and an overabundance of light pollution. Spend the money for a small group tour.
This was a great tour, even though we didn't see lights, except with our phones. The staff was very professional and helpful. We made multiple stops in different places to try to find lights we could see with our eyes.
Wonderful guides, very efficient and skilled. We managed to see a spectacular lights display. Absolutely with it!
Our first tour got cancelled so we were able to rebook for free for the following night. The BusTravel staff was quick at communicating and confirmed our reservation. Pickup was flawless. We set off around 8:30pm to find the Northern Lights and we stopped near the water. There we saw what looked like a slightly illuminated cloud, but it was in fact the Northern Lights. It was a bit disappointing to look at with the naked eye, but this isn't the tour's fault. You never know what you're going to get and we had moderate activity mixed with some cloud cover so the lights were not particularly vibrant. However, when I did some long exposures with my camera the sky came to life with a huge green band and I got some amazing photos. We had a small cup of hot chocolate which was really good but we wished there was more! We then stopped at a second place near the Blue Lagoon, but by that point the clouds were rolling in so we had to leave. Our guide Giuseppe was great and did his best to find the lights. He was also helping people take photos throughout the night. Make sure to bring warm layers as it gets VERY cold! I would say this tour was a success and your best chance at seeing the Northern Lights without a car if you're staying in Reykjavik. Just manage your expectations as brilliant displays to the naked eye might be rare, but it's a great photo opportunity if you come prepared (bring some kind of mini tripod to stabilize your camera or phone for long exposures)
Too many people and too many other tour operators at the same viewing locations with limited results.
We waited for the northern lights and we got them! Thanks to Juliana and Peter who were patiently teaching us how to focus on the sky until We got it.. kudos to Juliana and Peter.
Disappointing because of cloud cover - we were told we could rebook for another day but the weather remained the same.
The northern lights tour felt like a total SCAM! I feel like from the beginning they knew the lights weren’t going to be out that night due to the overcast skies and it should have been cancelled but instead they drove even further after our first stop to try to see them but that was another fail. We did finally get our hot chocolate there and the dixie cup size amount was ridiculous and the fact that people were on their third cup when my boyfriend and I didn’t even get any yet. It was the most expensive hot chocolate I’ve ever had and not the best one! Our tour guide was highly inappropriate!! She was telling witch stories and hackling like a witch! It wasn’t funny, it was super creepy and this tour wasn’t advertised as a scary stories and witch theatrics tour so it wasn’t expected and definitely not appreciated! She told a story about how to get rich which involved taking scrotums and making scrotum pants…literally beyond disguising and inappropriate! I wasn’t traveling with kids but I hope it was an adults only tour and even then unacceptable. She also dropped the f bomb on the microphone. The lack of professionalism was astounding. We were so turned off we didn’t even want to try to see the lights another night. We can’t get our money back but I hope this review stops others from wasting their money. We learned later that if the Northern Lights are out, you can see them from the far end of the harbor in Reykjavík with your back to the city, so again save your money and try that. We unfortunately never saw them.
We hit the Northern Lights Jackpot! They were incredible! We were able to get some Amazing pictures an the hot chocolate was great!
This tour was incredible! Jessica was our guide, and she shared a lot of knowledge about the Northern Lights in Iceland. The hot chocolate they served was delicious, too! They took us out of Reykjavik to a dark spot with better viewing conditions. I was immediately blown away by the stars alone, there were so many! After a while of waiting, we started photographing a faint green glow in the sky, and then the lights came to life! It looked like a green ribbon dancing across the sky. It was incredible, and I felt so lucky to see the lights on my first night in Iceland. I highly recommend this tour, especially because they offer a free rejoin if you don't see the lights. I loved it and I'm so happy I got to see them. A bucket list item officially checked off! 😀
We went in a HUGE bus, probably 70 people. So too big for me. We did get some nice sightings on a beautiful night and the leader, a young man Davi? was fantastic. Very articulate, knowledgeable, professional and helpful. Gave good info on the science of the Northern Lights as well as some interesting facts about how family names are created in Iceland. If I went again I’d go in a smaller bus or van. Also, difficult getting on and off the bus due to so many people and very dark. But there were a lot of those big buses at our spots so it is common for this obviously popular event.
Wonderful tour, was lucky to get a clear night and see the aurora in all its glory. The hot chocolate was highly appreciated as it was pretty cold. Guides dealt well with managing the huge numbers of people being picked up at bus stop 5.
Everything was on time. The tour guide was very good, we saw lots of Northern Lights last night. It was a magical experience.
Total waste of money, they don’t check forecasts before and they just tried 2 locations, none showed northern lights
Tour felt predetermined and we didn’t see the lights. Didn’t seem to be a plan specific to the night we were going out to optimize our chances. We were warned about tours that just gather as many people as possible and drive to one location to, hopefully, see the lights. This is one of those tours. If you are doing this tour, do it at the beginning of your trip. If you don’t see the light they say they will take you back out. We made the mistake of booking this the last full day in Iceland.
