We attended the 6:00pm LAVA show on our first evening in Reykjavik. We took the Premium package which included some extras (drink, lava piece, video after the show) and a seat on the upper deck. The presenter was very good and we learned so much history and information about lava.

We loved the Lava show! So informative and fun, my son said it was his favourite part of the whole trip.
Lovely building & set up, plenty space, experience was fun & informative. Good prices. About right length of time for show
Great experience for kids Lots of standing Hot if you sit in front during the lava show interesting!
Great show! Cool demonstration of molten metal, how it cools, glows different colors, reacts to ice, etc.
Excellent experience. We visited with out 12 year old grandson who found the session enthralling. The guide was very knowledgeable and communicated a lot of quite complex information in an accessible and interesting way. Very good value for money
Very cool show, or shout I say hot gdeat way to experience the heat from lava. We went on the first night, esy walking distance from city center. We bought the premium package which includes a drink and a piece of lava to take home. Would 100% recommend going to this show.
It was a fun, unique experience. The presenter was very active and interacted with the audience. Small venue so it was easy to see. It was very cool seeing actual lava while also learning about volcanoes and Iceland.
We did the back Stage ticket and Peter was Knowledgeable and funny, he also presented the show which was factual and entertaining
The show itself was very entertaining and there was a great video of the history of volcanoes. It was worth the entry fee and all staff at reception (didn’t catch her name), Ian at the bar, and Nico/Rico that gave the presentation were all clear and welcoming. Definitely recommended
After four busy days sightseeing around Iceland, it was decided to spend our last day in Reykjavik and book the Lava Show. It is expensive, but isn't everything in Iceland? Our 'guide', Neil was very informative and kept everybody entertained explaining the various types of lava, temperatures etc as he wielded his 'stick' and showed off the various states as it cooled. Had an answer to every question and had the audience engaged throughout. We usually avoid gift shops as they tend to be overpriced tat but we bought a couple of items which you'd struggle to find anywhere else i.e. pieces of lava!
This is a one-of-a-kind experience that you cannot see outside of Iceland. You will not regret learning about volcanoes and seeing real lava.
Do not miss this, it's so informative, history, geography, geology, science, Iceland language lesson, amazing real lava flow used to bring the talk to life. Friendly and some times funny. A family experience from 5 to 95 years …. Thank you Lava show x
Great show. Very knowledgeable show lead, Neil who's actually from the UK.
What an amazing experience! We arrived 30 minutes early, as recommended in the email we received after booking. This allowed plenty of time to get a drink and have a look around the lovely gift shop. We were told it was a fully booked show, and it felt quite crowded while we waited to be seated, but I honestly don't think there is a bad seat in the auditorium! Everyone overlooks the show area and the seating is staged so no one has a blocked view. The host on the evening (whose name I cannot remember!) was fabulous! She had just graduated in Geology and was so knowledgeable. She took a lot of questions at the end of the show and you could tell she knew the subject, rather than having a script she was working from. The show included an introduction from the host, a mini documentary about the volcanic history of Iceland and then the lava show itself. It flew by but we learnt so much in the hour we were there. Our ten year old daughter was engaged throughout and would happily return to see the show again. Absolutely worth the money! Informative and so much fun. Please book to visit while you are in Reykjavik, I don't think you will regret it.
It was fantastic. I think that everyone who goes to Iceland should see it.
For the price, I found the experience under whelming. The presenter was very good, and the video was well done, but the lava show itself not worth the over $60.00 entrance fee.
Amazing. Informative. So cool.
interesting experience. Manged to see the ice then here experience heat. My bad forgot the presenter name who is a icelandic gal explained in very detailed to us regarding volcano and lava.
Book direct, show up early, and you'll have a good time! They have the show down to a formula that works- it's entertaining and worth a visit!
Amazing, educational and entertaining. If like me you have always wanted to see real molten lava (and it is real) this is the show to go to. The host was excellent.
We booked an upgrade and they reached out to say it was unavailable for that day/time but they made our day even better than I could’ve imagined. We went to see the lava flow but they were so informative and funny it made it even better. We learned and had fun! What a great experience!!! I also highly recommend getting the dragon glass and a piece of lava from the show! What great souvenirs to remember it!
This was a last-minute booking for us, and we did NOT regret it! To see, experience, and learn more of Iceland's volcanic history in this way was truly special. Bastian was an excellent communicator and did a great job engaging the audience and keeping them safe! The show lasts about an hour - which includes time for Q&A. An added bonus is that, unlike many places in Iceland, The Lava Show has a souvenir shop for visitors to enjoy.
Experience the heat and knowledge of Icelantic volcanos!! The premium experience is well wirth the extra money!!
An amazing live show with real lava. The showman is a true volcanologist, giving us many interesting and insightful facts about volcanoes, lava itself and answering everybody's questions with lengthy and fulfilling answers. Something you cannot miss, when visiting Iceland (available at 2 locations on the island).
Guide (Jess) was very knowledgeable and made the show a fun experience. Close-up look at the lava was very unique and cool, and the intense heat of the lava (especially in the front row) was a welcome surprise.
What a cool experience! It's not every day that you get to go up close with lava. The presenter was very knowledgeable and the show was a lot of fun.
Great educational experience, this was worth doing for anyone who love volcanos or if you just want to see lava, it’s great for that too!
We loved the lava show, very interesting and informative. The guide knew everything about lava and volcanos you possibly could.
Very good information given at the show. Really cool to see how lava actually behaves, and its properties. Gives you a great understanding scientifically what lava is, and I would say almost dampens your fear of it
It’s very warm once the lava starts flowing so be prepared. We bought premium seats in the balcony. Highly recommend!!
Awesome experience. Very knowledgeable about the country and geology. The show was very interesting. Especially seeing the different stages of lava
We booked this when our long day tour to Snæfellsnes got cancelled due to bad weather and I am glad we did! This was very informative and I learned more about Iceland here than on some of my tours. I do highly recommend doing the premium package! It was worth it! Just so interesting to be able to see lava up close
I loved the Lava Show! The premium upgrade admission is 100% worth it! You get a free drink of choice (alcoholic or non-alcoholic) at the bar and a piece of lava as a souvenir. We got to sit upstairs which I’m glad we did because we would have been so hot downstairs. I loved the exclusive behind-the-scenes video they showed us after the show. The show’s presenter was amazing! She was funny, interactive and informative. I enjoyed being able to meet her after the show, and see more lava samples!
Quite an experience, do the premium as you sit upstairs and don’t have to wear safety glasses, and you get a drink
It gets warm dress in layers. The premium upgrade was definitely worth it. The drinks and before show relaxing was great.
Very unique and informative show. Well worth checking out to learn about Iceland and how it continues to transform.
This was a pretty good show if you are looking for something to do with a short amount of time. A little pricey but everything in Iceland is.
Great show very informative and interesting
Great experience. Educational. Very informative. Love the show. Highly recommend.
Very cool experience. Unlike anything I have seen. Very informative and enteratining. We got the premium tickets - the loungs and balcony view were worth the extra price. This is a can't miss if you are visiting Iceland
Cancelled the tour in the afternoon same day bit disappointed then didnt have time to go as I was too busy
This experience was so fun and special. Peter, our guide through the experience, did such an amazing job. We loved it, but so did our son (3 years old). Ofcourse seeing the lava was magical but Peter truly made it special with his charisma and passion when talking about lava. When our son wanted to thank him after the show he was so nice to him and because of him we now have a little Iceland/vulcano fan for a son.
The show with the upgrade was a wonderful experience. Our presenter was a geologist who gave us an interesting overview of the islands, volcanism, and the actual lava show was amazing.
Great way to actually see real lava. Had a great time. Enjoy the time and also the educational aspects of it.
Everybody from the bar tenders to the host and the lava guy were helpful, engaging, and entertaining. Hearing all about lava and things you would never think about while watching someone demonstrate their information on the lava pool right in front of you is an incredible and safe way to experience the fire and ice of Iceland.
The show itself was great! Host was funny and knowledgeable! I very much enjoyed myself. I purchased the premium package which was just ok. I would have enjoyed being seated at the non "premium" section instead and enjoy an up close and personal experience. Unfortunately, a couple sat next to me with the phone extremely loud translating the entire show which made the experience distracting and quite frustrating. The venue is not at fault, but would suggest that an announcement is made for those who use translator apps to use headphones!
The blonde lady (sorry, we forgot her name), was very knowledgeable and funny. She made the experience a great time. The show itself was about 30 min to an hour. The size of the crowd was manageable and didn't affect the quality of the show itself, great seating (just sit in the front row!!)
We had a great time at the Lava Show. The guide was informative, interesting, very engaging and fun!
The lava show was really informative and a neat show to see. The guide went through some history and did a lot of manipulation of the lava showing different things and temperature changes. It was an experience that I thought was worth it.
