Unique interior glacial experience. Rode on a Super Jeep to carefully and slowly approach the tunnel entrance. At times, the drive towards the tunnel entrance would actually move forward 2 steps, and 1 step back for improve traction. Bamboo stakes act as markets for the path. Interesting and incredible experience! Sadly, the reality of the fast rate of Glacial melting is extremely fast each year. Global climate warming is impacting the glacial footprint on our planet. Important info for all. Guides were professional and experienced. Amazing adventure. Highly recommended! The prior waterfall stop and Icelandic horse farm visit were also a great part of the overall tour.

Experience of a lifetime. They made a tunnel in raw ice of a huge glacier. First, they take you to the base where you prepare with special boots to enter the cave. Then we enter in a 4x4 monster truck that were used as military vehicles long time ago. The vehicle took us up the glacier to the tunnel spot. Was a windy day and can't see nothing thru the windows because a freezing snow. We got to the entrance of the cave and they provide chains to put on our boots. Then we walk thru two icy tunnels and the experience was extraordinary. We were walking inside a glacier! Water falling, ice walls, very wet path but all was part of the adventure. This is a must do excursion in Iceland.
The team was great especially Hammer who was our tour guide. The weather was perfect and we even experienced some snow which was perfect. We highly recommend and appreciated everyone’s efforts to make sure we had a great time!
Crampons were provided and I also used walking poles, which helped me a lot. There is plenty of space in the cave, so no worries about feeling claustrophobic (at least for me). The guide was fabulous and always helpful. He had a great sense of humor.
Had an absolutely wonderful experience visiting the glacier! Guides Emil and Simon were knowledgeable and funny. Highly recommend; the views both inside the ice cave and on top of the glacier are stunning!
This excursion was amazing and worth it! Our driver was very friendly and transported us to all of our destinations safely. I particularly enjoyed visiting the horse farm and going inside the glacier the most. The guides at these destinations were very informative and took great care of us. I highly recommend first time travelers to Iceland to add this to their itinerary!
Haffy is one of the best tour guides we have had to the privilege to meet. My family (my mom, Dad, sister, brother in law and 2 kids) and I all thought this tour was one of the big highlights of Iceland. Going into an Ice Cave is a once in a lifetime opportunity. Haffy was knowledgeable, funny and so informative. Life on Iceland is very unique and he gave us so much personal insight about growing up and living in Iceland. He also had us turn the lights off and sang to us in complete darkness, which was so awesome. The ice cave is fascinating with the different layers of ice and how the glacier is always moving. I would recommend this tour and would do it again!
Absolutely amazing experience, once in a lifetime for sure. 10/10 recommend, would recommend for everyone. They give you all the gear to have a good experience too. Our tour guide, Hammer, was awesome also.
Excellent tour, brilliant experience, the tour guides, Hammer and Ao were Brilliant, very friendly and chatty, would definitely recommend going on this tour.
Brilliant tour, the tour guides, Hammer and Ao were Brilliant, very friendly and fun to be around, being inside the glacier was stunning, brilliant experience, brilliant atmosphere, would definitely recommend doing this experience, it's brilliant.
Great experience, guides were very friendly and knowledgeable. Lots of good stops on the bus ride to the glacier.
Our tour departed from Reykjavík to the Glacier. We did a few stops including one at a horse farm. That was very cool. You get to feed horses a pet them. The ride to the glacier in the big wheels truck was awesome. The ice tunnel walk was impressive. Our guide Happy was great in explaining the history of the tunnel. Yes, I recommend doing this tour.
Hammer and Happy were amazing!
Jhoreon was an awesome guide, we had a great day! Three cheers for Yurrohn, he explained so much. Thanks, Johann!
Buy food at the soonest opportunity at a pit stop. Sandwiches were really good at N1 Borganes. Tell the driver/ guide to tell you everything. Our driver/ guide Iga was just excellent. Bring power cord or power bank. You can charge on the van. Horse farm was fun. They served us tasty buttered rye bread & hot cocoa, tea & coffee. The Hraunfossar & Barnafoss were worth the walk, amazing series of waterfalls. Into the glacier was such an amazing experience: ride on the glacier & walking with crampons on the ice cave was so interesting & fun. Our ice cave guide Ryan was knowledgeable, personable & entertaining. He even sang at the last stop with a big heart arch decor & the acoustic was just perfect. What a memorable day tour.
Amazing! The jokes the tour guide made were very funny, we went with Yorgen/Hammer. The roof of the cave was leaking a little bit but made the experience a bit more fun trying to dodge the water. I also love how they gave us clamp-ons and waterproof shoes and jackets. I was able to drink the leaking water from the cave and it tasted very fresh. I also enjoyed when we were in the chapel and the tour guide turned off the lights and the room was pitch black. I would definitely go on this tour again. The only thing is the bus was a little cramped.
Awesome experience getting to the second biggest glacier in Iceland and then experiencing its amazing ice tunnels. Our guides and drivers were also great. I would highly recommend this full day trip to anyone who has a free day in Iceland.
Our tourguide Ehsa from Artic Adventures is the most patient and caring person of our entire trip. He always put our needs and joy his top priority during the day by going extra miles to help us carry the luggage, help me with charging the dead phone, bringing extra cup for water, calling us in and out every snack break, and many many extra support on top. We (Mini and Annie) were extremely grateful for having him in Iceland. Ryan from the ice cave tour was also an extraordinary guide, who delivered concrete useful information about this special experience and it was so amazing to get to know him as a person (spoil alert: he will sing beautifully for you). All in all, this is one in a lifetime experience you definitely need to try at least once in Iceland!
This is a terrific experience. The drive up to the edge of the glacier is otherworldly - barren lava fields, dramatic waterfalls, stunning views. The ride on the glacier is fascinating. The walk through the tunnel was both beautiful and informative. Our guide Oli was awesome!
Hammer was a fantastic guide, and very amusing!
The trip up to and then into the glacier was fascinating. A truly unique experience. Our guide, Hafi, was fui and informative.
Glacier tour was awesome, but the Artic bus driver was late, bus broke down, and Lots of delays and Poor response and Planning by the Artic driver.
If you are considering this glacier ice cave tour, book it immediately! The entire day was perfectly paced and packed with incredible sights. Before we even reached the glacier, we got to experience so much of the landscape, with stops at beautiful waterfalls, a steaming hot spring, and even a charming local horse farm. The ice cave itself, however, was the absolute highlight. Walking through the extensive cave system was completely surreal. The scale and the vivid colors of the crystal-clear ice are hard to put into words. It was massive, and discovering that there is an actual wedding chapel carved right inside the ice was truly breathtaking. Our guide, Loki, was exceptional. He shared fascinating stories that made the journey feel deeply personal and engaging. He went completely above and beyond to ensure everyone had the best possible experience, and as a master photographer, he knew all the perfect angles and lighting to help us capture incredible shots inside the cave. A perfectly executed tour and an absolute must-do. I highly recommend it!
My son and I have a great time at and in the glacier. Our guide Oli was very friendly and given us a lot of interesting details. He is very funny and have a amazing voice - enjoy it, it was a wonderful moment. Best regards to Oli and his team - you make a great job! Linda and Damian
This was incredible. To see and meet horses and learn about them, experience geysers and waterfalls, and then walk on and in a glacier is a once in a lifetime experience. I would recommend to all people. The guide at the cave was aMAZING. Driving in the ice and snow was precarious which made it fun. We could not have had a better time.
Getting to go into ice cave and travel glacier in summer is unique experience. Unfortunately I had bad weather so truck up the glacier couldn't see anything but it was still fun
Amazing and unique experience! Literally Gino to the glacier in a man made cave . Our guide HAFFY was awesome!
Great tour and our guide Paul was wonderful! We enjoyed every stop and learned a lot about Iceland. At the horse farm, we got to try the rye bread baked in the ground, which was a pleasant surprise. The visit inside the glacier was well organized and truly unique. Paul showed us some really interesting sights and explained a lot about Iceland's culture and nature. I highly recommend it.
Haffe and Emlar were fantastic guides. They provided a comprehensive overview and background of Iceland. The glacier experience was incredible. My family had an amazing time going on this once in a lifetime adventure.
We had a great guide and we saw unique things like a geo thermal plant, a horse farm where you pat and feed horses and see how Icelandic rye bread is made underground in milk cartons! The 2 waterfalls were really pretty and of course the highlight was going into the glacier. The whole trip was comfortable and safe and managed very well
It was fascinating to go in a tunnel into a glacier. The guide Happy was excellent. He told both stories and facts in a great way. And he was very commited.
Everywhere we went was amazing u have never seen so much snow before they have such nice waterfalls aswell
Absolutely loved this tour…. Omar was spectacular and so knowledgable … the ice cave is extremely cool and .. I would do it again…..we missed the new bar but maybe next time ..
We enjoyed it very much. Long ride to the tunnel but there we’re a lot of information sharing. It was nice and also informative inside the tunnel.
This so good! The tour guide Siggi was great, so engaging and informative. The horse farm and the waterfall before the glacier and the ice cave would have made a lovely day tour in itself but the glacier and the ice cave were amazing. Do not miss this tour!
Loved the experience. The views to the cave were amazing. The cave itself was cool, literally and figuratively. The chapel was unique. I felt as if we were on top of the world. Highly recommend!
Maggie was great at transportation and providing us endless bits of knowledge about Iceland. Dom was a great guide throughout the glacier. I highly recommend this tour!
The guides, the experiences, the driver were all great but two places stood out ,the horse farm was my second favourite and the glacier trip was outstanding. It was snowing on the glacier when we arrived and this made the trip even more magical ✨️.
A highlight of our trip to Iceland. Our tour guide into the glacier, Ale, was personable, welcoming, informative, humorous, helpful, friendly, impressive. He went beyond the call of duty throughout, and his integrity, commitment to the group, and capacity for surprise and silence at a key moment of the tour deserves the highest commendation. The tour was remarkable and well worthwhile.
Omar was an experienced guide who was very knowledgable and was a great sport in helping me answer any questions while I was making a Youtube Video about the glacier. The missile launcher truck was definitely a very cool way to transport us up into the glacier too.
Wonderful set of guided tours. Informational and fun! Got a really great sense of Icelandic culture. The main event was the glacier tour which was incredibly special.
The driver was in hurry all the time … besides we could get to the glacier which was our goal … my whole trip was to see it .. money should be re- imbursed
Fantastic tour, the guide was amazing, we even got to walk on the glacier as we got stuck in the snow!
My 3 friends and I loved the Crystal Ice Cave tour. We learned so much and Mery about glaciers and how ice caves for , she was a wonderful guide and teacher. It was an unforgettable experience and would highly recommend!
We had a wonderful experience with Jusepe, who guided us throughout the day! His timing, warm welcome, kindness, and explanations were all more than pleasant. This is an experience you won’t want to miss. A big thank you to him!
Great tour and an amazing guide! Everything was well organized, and the guide was friendly, knowledgeable, and made the experience really enjoyable. Highly recommend! 😊
We had a great day visiting the glacier, and on the way there we stopped by a hot spring, a horse farm and a beautiful frozen waterfall. The visibility on the glacier itself wasn’t great due to a snow storm but it was a really cool experience! Unfortunately, I don’t remember our guide’s name (I should’ve written it down), but she was truly amazing! Not only she showed us around on the road and into the glacier, but she added a lot of interesting facts, extra information, beautiful stories about local legends, food, weather and much more. She was very entertaining (especially when we couldn’t see much outside because of the storm). Yes, the price was maybe a bit expensive but we were picked up from Reykjavik in perfect timing and the whole journey was totally worth it.
Let’s get the negative out the way first, as a diabetic I would have appreciated an advanced warning from either the trip description or the driver/guide that we would not be getting a lunch break! My fault for not having any snacks with me but it meant for a very long day without food! The place where we were to go up the glacier had a bistro next door that was shut, before that there was a cafe at the waterfalls that had some very limited options but no time to eat anyway. So take food! So, the good bits, Lily was amazingly helpful, nothing was a problem and I really appreciated her attentiveness. Omar was a great driver and also super helpful. The views travelling up are just awesome And then there was Maddie, the Guide inside the glacier, was funny, very informative and has the voice of an angel which literally had me in tears as she sang in the chapel which we were lucky enough to see as it had just been completed ready for a wedding there the next day. All in all a long day but highly recommend to do especially as the glacier wont always be there thanks to global warming! Awesome experience- take food!!
I had such a fun and unforgettable tour with Into the Glacier! We got to see the beautiful Icelandic horses up close feeding and petting them was such a special experience. They were so gentle and stunning. We also visited a spectacular waterfall that was absolutely breathtaking. Then came the highlight exploring the ice cave and driving up onto the glacier itself. Standing on top of the glacier and taking in the incredible views was something I will never forget. The scenery was beyond beautiful. This tour was adventurous, unique, and completely worth it. I highly recommend it to anyone visiting Iceland! Definitely worth being cold to see the views!
Great trip. Make sure to wear waterproof shoes. Omar and Neils were excellent! Informative, fun, and conversational
