Great to see the tower before it was lit (Oct. 9). The island is otherwise quite minimal, though for a time in the early 1800's it was the capital of Iceland and where the governor resided.

Smashing that like button for Knut ! He was the most wonderful guide ever- super knowledgeable dude when it comes to marine biology, besides the cool tower we got plenty of information about the marine ecosystem surrounding the island, we got to see the northern lights and walked through quiet, tiny adorable church, enjoyed some hot chocolate! 100/10 would recommend, even if you are not Lennon fan!
Walk was a little longer than I expected. Hot chocolate was good. Crew were polite and friendly. We saw northern lights!
It was amazing. Boat ride over was fun. Once there it was amazing to go to the memorial. It was absolutely beautiful. As we were leaving, the northern lights wrapping around the lights from the memorial. It was breath taking
Good and safe boat trip with nice guide that know a lot from the peace tower, the island and history. You can feel what Yoko Ono means with this peacefull art object.
Learnt a lot & loved it all. Thank you! Big thank you to our tour guide Emily & her colleagues. Loved it.
Seeing it lit up and the northern lights surrounding it looked incredible, our guide Rob was fantastic and very knowledgeable and interesting.
The crew was so helpful. We enjoyed the boat ride and the tour. The hike to the tower in the cold wind was a bit harder than I expected. One of the crew members walked slower with me as the others headed more quickly to the tower. The views were beautiful and the kids got to ring the bell when we stopped at the Church. It was a fantastic memorable trip. Very glad we went, and definitely recommend it.
This tour far exceeded my expectations. As soon as we set out on the boat toward the island, Rob the tour guide said the Northern lights are out. We climbed to the top level of Bost and saw the Northern lights as we approached the Peace tower light. Best night ever!!
It was great to see the Peace Tower lit up. Best place for the Peace Tower to be located. Imagine peace around the world.
Fantastic experience. Very moving. Fun to be on a deserted island at night. Megan, our guide, was brilliant. She was very friendly and informative & took amazing photos as we were lucky enough to see the Northern Lights at the same time - bonus!! Would definitely recommend this trip, even if you’re not a John Lennon fan.
Great tour with a small group, 8 people. Walking around the uninhabited island with cold wind and creaky dock was a rare experience
We loved this trip. The captain of the boat was a great driver. The guide gave us a history of the light and a tour of the church on the island. Loved the music playing Imagine by the light. And we saw the Northern Lights which was a plus 👏🏻. Thanks so much.
What a trip! Megan our host was so knowledgable about the island and the peace tower. Great small group and the northern lights was an added bonus! Highly recommend!
The tour guide was informative about Videy Island, the church and the Peace Tower It was a beautiful evening to take a short walk to the Peace Tower. Pictures were taken of the tower beams and different languages to express peace. It was disappointing that there wasn't a video from Yoko Ono and be able to place a message of peace as advertised for this tour.
We signed up for this tour but they cancelled us on day of. No explanation. Unable to rebook due to their erratic schedule. Very disappointed. Wanted to see Peace light. At least you can see the light beam from Reykjavik.
As a big fan of the Beatles this was a must in our trip. You get to see a bit more than just the light as you step into the island. The view of the city is nice and we were lucky to see the northern lights from there too!
As a huge fan of John Lennon, I had an incredible time visiting the Imagine Peace Tower that Yoko Ono created as a homage to him and his advocacy for peace. It was definitely freezing cold when I went, but worth every minute of it. Our tour guide, wish I could remember her name, was really nice and she played us a couple of John Lennon's songs while we were there so it made it that much better. What truly made it special was that it was an intimate trip only my friend and I and another person, also I was not expecting to see the Aurora borealis, but our tour guide pointed it out and it was magnificent. I felt really lucky to have been able to see it there and then because it made my visit to the Imagine Peace Tower that much more special and sentimental.
Fabulous. Really pleased we were able to visit the tower whilst it was lit. Would highly recommend visiting the tower.. I found it very moving.
Knowledgeable guide gave us a memorable evening at the peace tower; she gave detailed information on both Videy Island and the history of the tower. Seeing the lighted tower up close was more than special; our guide even played "Imagine" on her phone while we savored the moment. A hot chocolate snack and a quick visit to the church on the island completed the evening. Elding was great to work with too. This is a don't miss attractiion.
Memorable and moving. A very unique situation in an already unique part of the world. Effective close up or from a distance on the mainland, it also operates as an idea gifted to the world at large.
NorthernLights trip was cancelled so booked this, I’m not the best Walker so struggled a bit but that was my own fault as I knew walking was involved. As a last minute trip this was lovely
the night got off to a wobbly start when we were told the boat trip would have to be from a different place because of the weather - but safety first and in the end it had no bearing on the evening which was amazing 25.10.19 - we had an incredible sighting of the lights - our first time - awe inspiring the guide was lovely - ready to answer any questions but also happy to be quiet and just let us take it all in we only had phones to take photos on and whilst we were happy with the ones we got we were delighted that our guide was happy to share her photos by email the next day the peace tower was lovely to but paled into insignificance a little after the excitement of the lights
This trip is a must the guide was so good nothing was a problem very detailed history about the island and the peace tower I would highly recommend this tour
I am a huge John Lennon Fan so to see the memorial lit up (Oct 9th-Dec 8th) was amazing. The beauty of its simplicity for me was emotional. So glad I was able to go.
I took a ferry out to Videy Island one evening in November to see the Peace Tower. I had read a bit about it but to see it that tower of light in the dead of night in the snow was breathtaking. Our guide was very welcoming and knowledgeable, explaining the history of the island itself and the background of the Peace Tower. We were shown the church on the island and allowed to go inside. After spending time at the tower, the Northern Lights appeared! Our guide took the time to help people set cameras to the right settings to get the best pictures. We were allowed to spend as much time as we needed and then treated us to hot chocolate and the opportunity to write our wish and tie it onto the Peace tree. A wonderful experience that you just can’t get anywhere else.

This was great made even beter by our french guide that spoke perfect English

We really enjoyed this tour, very informative and interesting. Our guide offered us the chance to stay in the Island as long as we liked rather than just for the desired time as there were only a few of us. I liked how it was based around the whole of Videy Island and offered us lots of information around that as well as the Peace Tower. Made our last night in Iceland really special and it was a great spot to see the Northern Lights.

We had a great time! Our guide, Sila, was very informative, friendly, and knowledgeable. The weather was not cooperative but we made the best of it. We were very lucky to have a small group only 4 people and our guide, boat captain, and transportation crew member. We couldn't have asked for a better group. The Tower is beautiful! I found that this tour is not widely known in travel brochures and websites, but I found it and will recommend to anyone going to Reykjavik. It's a lovely tribute to John Lennon.

The tower was great to see but the tour could have been better organized. Also there was quite a bit of walking in dark unsteady places and that was never explained in the tour description.
We had a wonderful bonus on our ferry ride back from the Island..........we saw the Northern Lights!!! Two tours in one!

Beautiful! The snow made the light even more amazing. Can't wait to see Videy Island again!

The guys from Elding whale watching could not have been more helpful and friendly. Very knowledgeable about the subject. Thoroughly enjoyable trip and I would recommend using this company

Amazing experience and recommended for any John Lennon fan or anyone who appreciates a beautiful art installation set in one of the most beautiful environments in the world.

We enjoyed the Image peace tower tour from Reykjavik, we were made to feel welcome and the guide was very informative and friendly.
This trip is great valve for money and would recommend people to take this trip with Viator.
The guide makes a great cup of hot chocolate.

My partener had always wanted to do this tour,so on her birthday15 Oct we did it.We was picked promptly and although there was only four of us ,along with the guides,it was a brilliant trip. The guides were brilliant and very friendly. This was a very unique night out.I would rate this very high.

Me and my partner chose this tour from get your guide price eur 42 per person being late we contacted the company elding to do it directly with them Do not do it! They'll charge you double and say a thousand excuses to justify the price... First time I happen to pay double from Prescriber! Absurd! Insignificant tour if you want to do it know that they will take you to the island 2 photos and you will go back this for the modest amount of 80 eur per person. Of the video mentioned on get your guide not even the shadow, c was sent after our complaint with customizing via wathapp
