Itinerary
We’ll kick off the adventure with an easy downtown Reykjavík pickup. Then it’s eastward bound to Iceland’s legendary South Coast, where jaw-dropping views and unforgettable moments await.
Skógafoss is one of Iceland’s most stunning waterfalls, renowned for its majestic 25-meter width and 60-meter drop. A staircase leads to a viewing platform above the falls, offering breathtaking views of the south coast, the Eyjafjallajökull glacier, and the cascading Skógafoss itself. Whether you admire it from below or take the steps to the top, this iconic waterfall is a must-visit destination for nature lovers. On-site amenities include restrooms
Sólheimajökull is a glacier tongue, an offshoot off of the main body of Mýrdalsjökull glacier. We walk towards Sólheimajökull, through the valley it has carved out of the mountain scape and along the glacier river it forms at its base. The valley is a chaotic collection of rocks, gravel and sand which the tongue ground down as it passed over the land. The glacier is unlike others as it is striped with layers of ash crushed between seasonal layers of ice, but the glacier is surrounded by multiple active volcanic stations. On-site amenities include restrooms
Reynisfjara, or the Black Sand Beach, is truly a natural marvel. The site offers beautiful basalt columns, a natural arc viewed from afar, troll-like sea stacks and during the summer season there are thousands of puffins which make the cliffs of the Black Sand Beach their home. We do both sightseeing and the lunch break there. On-site amenities include restrooms and a café/restaurant.
A short photo stop at the photogenic village of Vík. We stop by the town's church where the troll-like basalt stacks and the village provide the perfect background for a selfie. On the way back to the city, hear the stories about all the trolls in the rocks and the elves before you arrive back in Reykjavik at around 6:00 PM.
Seljalandsfoss is one of Iceland’s most renowned waterfalls, celebrated for its unique pathway that allows visitors to walk behind the cascading water—just be prepared to get a little wet! With a 65-meter drop, the waterfall is part of the Seljalandsá River, which originates from the Eyjafjallajökull glacier. This glacier gained international attention in 2010 when its volcanic eruption disrupted transatlantic flights. On-site amenities include restrooms, a food stall, and a cozy gift shop.

an amazing experience, alex was great. take water proof clothes for the waterfall, take food as the restaurant at the black beach is always Busy
Our tour guide was knowledgeable and very personable. We did the tour in the opposite order as listed. We walked under the waterfall on the first stop. And if you walk under the waterfall, you will get wet. The waterfalls were beautiful and seeing the glacier up close was a treat. We stopped at the black sand beach for lunch.
Amazing sights and really great information about the areas. Good driving and nice and very interesting
The tour guide was excellent. He provided a great deal of information and was courteous. The sights were amazing.
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ An Absolutely Amazing Experience! We absolutely loved our South Coast tour! The scenery was breathtaking, and the whole experience was unforgettable. A massive thank you to our wonderful guide, Greta, who was absolutely amazing! She really made the tour extra special with her enthusiasm, friendliness and knowledge. She went above and beyond to make sure everyone had a fantastic experience. We couldn’t have asked for a better guide or a better day exploring Iceland’s beautiful South Coast. It was definitely one of the highlights of our trip! Highly recommend this tour, and if you’re lucky enough to have Greta as your guide, you’re in for a treat! 🇮🇸❤️
It was once in lifetime experience with beautiful views and thanks to Tom for being an excellent guide
It was fantastic! The drive was beautiful, the sites were amazing, our driver Wojtek was knowledgeable and funny. The bus was comfortable with Wi-Fi. It was perfect.
The trip was an all day excursion where we visited several locations that offered varied experiences and picture opportunities. The trip didn’t feel rushed, but it did feel full and exciting.
Sergio was the best tour guide - so knowledge, we could listen to him for hours and it was the perfect history overview but also great to know more about the formation of Iceland. 10/10 recommend- perfect locations, great stops, and memories! Thank you to the trip organisers and to Sergio - we are waiting for your podcast!
Our experience with Guna was fantastic. She was so knowledgeable and it was very interesting listening to her, helped make the long coach ride feel a lot more pleasant. The sights were fantastic and all very well planned out
We had an amazing experience on the South Coast tour with Your Day Tours. The landscape of Iceland is stunning, and the tour felt well-balanced without ever feeling rushed. We had plenty of opportunities to explore, snap photos, grab food, and stretch. A huge shoutout to our guide, Bruno, who was phenomenal! He shared so much rich history and fascinating details about Iceland throughout the day, it made the trip truly memorable. If you're visiting Iceland, don't miss this!
Our guide Dovie did an amazing job of taking us on this journey of the south coast. She had several anecdotes and tales along the way of Icelandic life. I highly recommend this tour, and if you get Dovie that's an additional plus.
our tour was fantastic, our tour guide Paul, was not only knowledgeable but was an absolute encyclopedia. We learned so much about Icelandic culture that it made the tour really special. If your in Iceland do this tour and if your lucky, Paul will be your guide!
Was not a pleasent experience. The bus was extremely cramped( limited seating space) and I am a amall person. It was very uncomfortable. Our guide was hard to understand, she did not use the microphone most of the time and people were on their phone , talking etc. . Also the places we visited we great but limited with time then lunch we were stuck locked out of the van for an hour with no drive or tour guide to be found in the cold on a beach . Unless we wanted to sit inside an expensive crowded restaurant. When we could have spent more time visiting waterfalls and other sites. It was one of my least favorite tours would recommend doing the larger bus much more comfortable. I was looking very forward to this tor and was disappointed. Remember to go to Videy island if you have a car we missed out on. Wish the guide would have given us more information on it.
Bus windows stained with droplets, could not get them off so photos from bus were not great. Microphone was poor so hard to understand guide. Waterfall walk behind it was so fun!
Bruno was the best tour guide ever! He told amazing stories and history about everywhere we went. The tour was hi salty priceless! Don’t miss it and ask for Bruno!!
Amazing experience, get ready for your mind to be blown up. I highly recommend bringing warm and waterproof clothing, as the weather in Iceland can be unpredictable, and I absolutely loved our lunch break at Reynisfjara Beach, one of the most dangerous beaches in the world!
I booked the tour because it was small and according to the blurb on the website this made it more accessible and personal. The guide didnt speak much other than when we reached an experience stop. There was little personal interaction with customers. When the doors opened we were off with little sense of where we were going or any advice on what to see/do. This was especially relevant when there were other bus tours at the same spot. We received no introduction to Iceland or anything extra from the driver. It was just a bus tour with a few stops. To be fair he did alter the stops slightly to avoid the crowds but I would have welcomed more knowledge about where to go once we stepped off the bus. It was all a bit imprsonal and at times quite frankly boring. When people got off the bus at the end few people even thanked the guide which says a lot. We did another golden circle tour with Nice travel and the driver was indeferent and on autopilot too. Dont know what all these rave reviews about tour drivers are about. It was not what we experienced.
We did see many things. For me the guide was annoying so the tour was just ok.. Everything was a story, told three times with “like ah” in every sentence. I could not wait for him to stop talking and end the tour. He decided to do extra stops with more stories and lectures, ugh!
The driver and leader was very knowledgeable about the terrain, the culture, and the history, which made every stop more impressive
It was outstanding. The guide was nice and coperative. I would recommend everyone not to miss this tour.
Hjalti has been a great tour guide. He is efficient and managed time perfectly and punctually. The timing ensures we complete all the major attractions and some more bonus ones by sunset. Note: QR card for review given to us is incorrect and Hjalti is probably missing out any reviews.
It’s a long day but well worth it! The landscape is beautiful and Maria, our guide was incredibly knowledgeable and entertaining.
Very fun tour considering we had seen some landmarks already the tour made it still feel refreshing nonetheless.
Absolute must-do, our guide Lucky was fantastic and very knowledgeable and kind! Recommend booking on a day with clear skies.
Driver was very courteous and knowledgeable about the area. Each site offered its unique flare. I highly recommend if you have the time.
I had an amazing time on this tour! The weather wasnt pleasant but my tour guide Andre was so upbeat and knowledgeable about everything we were passing I could hardly notice the torrential rain outside. I really love the itinerary and how much of Iceland you get to see from the town of vik, black sand beaches, a glacier and 2 waterfalls. One of the best tours I’ve ever been on and definitely worth booking for your Iceland vacation!
Absolutely awesome tour and my favorite part of visiting Iceland. Nils was an excellent guide and was very knowledgeable about all of our stops and Iceland in general. We packed so much into one day but I never felt rushed in any location. Highly recommend to anyone visiting Iceland!
It is a really long day but very well organised, I would bring some dry clothes if the weather is not great my coat scarf and hat were soaked.
We had a good weather day for the South Coast tour and our guide was very knowledgeable. The Skogafoss waterfall was magnificent and I managed to climb the 500+ stairs to the top of the falls. I have to say though, the view of the falls is better at the bottom. Be careful on the stairs, they can get slippery and there are only railings on one side. We also loved the Reynisfjara black sand beach. The waves come crashing to shore as if you're still in the middle of the ocean. As with much of nature in Iceland, you have to be careful. At the beach, they warn you about sneaker waves that can hit at any time. The day after we were there, a sneaker wave almost took a child out to sea; luckily dad was close by and grabbed and got her to shore. If the locals warn you about something, pay attention! I was fascinated to see the Sollheimajokull glacier and to see how much ice has melted in recent years. This was a small bus tour - about 18 people - and it was a full bus making it feel pretty tight. The sights were great but 10 and 1/2 hours on a bus is long. If we come back in the summer sometime, we'll probably rent a car to see sights at our own pace.
This experience was absolutely my favourite. The places were out of this world. The guide gave us some very interesting information about each place and also when we were passing through other places. Also bought some sweets for everyone to try. She was the best.
Hurrican force winds, raining so hard. Tour should of been canceled but no it went on. We phoned twice to say the weather is unsafe. Deepest depression in Iceland in 60 yrs. Talking to other tour providers they said this tour company never cancels. Wet uncomfortable journey. Should of been canceled. Do not recommend this tour company.
The bus was a bit cramped, but our driver was experienced and taught us a lot. The scenery is completely singular and we had enough time to see each location. It showed you just enough to make you want to come back.
Great tour. Knowledgeable guide!! Long day but worth it. Beautiful waterfalls and geyser. The glacier is a thing of beauty.
Andre was a wealth of information and did an excellent job guiding us around the wind and rain as much as possible. We ended up seeing most everything and still experiencing Iceland’s wild weather.
We saw the black sand beach and hexagonal basalt edges at the ocean. We walked to a glacier, behind a waterfall and saw the church at Vik. It was a great day with Jacob being a great guide/driver.
Bit of a walk (20 mins each way) at some places...so wear good shoes and wear warm clothes if you are doing this trip in early winter months (Oct in our case). On the whole very nice experience in a small group van. This is a great tour...i highly recommend.
It was Nice trip, and well organised
The stops weren't as well know as those on the Golden Circle, but they were wonderful in their own right. Our driver/guide was excellent, the falls and glacier were wonderful, and the black beach was amazing. A terrific trip,
Well organized tour, made even better by our experienced, knowledgeable (and funny) guide, Eric.
Iceland's South Coast is absolutely breathtaking, and the sights themselves were easily worth five stars. Unfortunately, our experience with the tour guide significantly detracted from what should have been a wonderful day. From the beginning, communication was a challenge. Our guide's English was difficult to understand, which made it hard to follow his explanations or learn much about the places we were visiting. I actually ended up using ChatGPT as my personal tour guide throughout much of the trip because I couldn't understand what he was saying. While frustrating, I was initially willing to overlook this. However, things took a turn for the worse at one of the sites. When we arrived, my husband was still inside the van preparing to exit (he was right by the stairs preparing to descend) when the guide closed the door and walked away, leaving him trapped inside. I had already exited ahead of him and didn't realize what had happened until my husband called me. I went looking for the guide and eventually found him seated inside. When I explained that my husband was locked in the van, I expected him to apologize and immediately come help. Instead, he remained seated and cooly instructed me to try pressing the emergency button or opening another door. He showed no concern and made no effort to assist us. My husband and I then spent approximately ten minutes struggling to get him out of the vehicle. Eventually, I managed to open the rear door, and my husband had to climb out through the back. The guide diidn't even ask if we were OK, in fact he didn't acknowledge us at all for the rest of the tour. This was incredibly frustrating, particularly because we had less than an hour at the stop to explore one of the attractions I had most looked forward to seeing. We lost valuable time dealing with a situation that should never have occurred based on the guide's carelessness, and the guide's dismissive response made it considerably worse. Beyond this incident, I found the guide's demeanor toward me rather cold, especially compared with how friendly and engaging he seemed with other passengers. As the only Black person on the tour, I couldn't help but feel uncomfortable with the difference in treatment. I can't say what motivated his behavior, but it certainly added to my disappointment. Ultimately, the scenery was spectacular, but the guiding experience fell well short of expectations. A good tour guide should be communicative, attentive, friendly, and genuinely concerned about the safety and comfort of all of their passengers. Unfortunately, that was not our experience. I would absolutely recommend visiting Iceland's South Coast, but I would strongly encourage travelers to choose their tour operator and guide carefully. The destinations deserve five stars. Our guide did not. Because of this experience, I will not be using Your Day Tours again and will certainly not recommend it to others.
Great experience!! We saw everything that was planed within the time. Our guide was highly professional and respectful. I can very much recommend this experience!
Our guide told stories throughout the day. He pointed out places and gave background information about everything. He answered questions and was very friendly.
Our guide Franklin made this trip. He was very knowledgeable but also made it fun. He also recommended further things to do during our holiday including visiting the nexus store in town ( a very cool, nerdy shop) The stops we had were amazing and we had plenty of time to see, take photos and eat. Thank you for an amazing day
This was a highly ranked tour and it lived up to that in every way. Our guide was well informed and very organized in his interactions. The scenery was breath taking. And the weather was nice which made this trip all that more enjoyable.
Franklin was an incredible guide with deep knowledge of Iceland, and he made the whole experience wonderful. He was funny, friendly, and warm, which made the 10-hour drive along the South Coast fly by. As a local Icelander, he gave the tour an authentic touch that made it even cooler. My favorite stops were the waterfall you can walk behind (Seljalandsfoss), where I got completely soaked and loved it, and the black sand beach (Reynisfjara). It was one of the most memorable trips I've ever taken, and Franklin made it even better. Hotel pickup was also convenient: the minibus collects you directly from your hotel if it's one of the listed pickup locations. I highly recommend this tour, and if you get Franklin as your guide, you'll be in great hands!
Well, not much to say, everything went well as expected. It was raining on & off on that day, 10/7/26. A driver picked up us on time and other passengers a long the way and he drove us along South Coast to stop at each location as scheduled, he gave us the time to be back to the minivan so we could see another location on time. He was a careful driver and brought us back to the hotel safely. That was all it counted!
Great tour, Dominique was a great tour guide and handled the driving in the wind amd weather just fine. We got wet as expected but that did not ruin the mood. A must tour if you come to Iceland, any time of year. Lots of memories and photos. A very large Takk for the opportunity.
This is a long day and a lot of driving, but worth it to see the sites along the south coast. Our driver/guide was great; he filled in much of the drive time with information about Iceland. We had plenty of time at each site to see what there was to see, hike around, and use bathrooms. Highly recommend this tour.
