Wonderful tour! The guide entertained us with many stories and folklore of the region along the way. The monster truck, Sleipnir, really made the tour stand out from others. It made for a very comfortable and smooth ride. We had plenty of time to explore the natural ice cave that they find with assistance from park rangers. Accessible for many different skill levels and ages. Would highly recommend this tour to anyone!

As this was my third time visiting a glacier in Iceland (my first two trips were to Vatnajökull), this tour was by far the most enjoyable. It felt much easier, with less hiking on uneven and slippery ice. The Sleipnir truck can drive directly on the glacier and takes you very close to the ice cave, which made the experience even more comfortable. We also had a Canadian guide who shared fascinating insights about Iceland’s landscapes and folklore. 5/5 – highly recommended!

This trip up to Langjökull with Sleipnir Tours was absolutely fantastic in every way. It’s amazing to sit in that large, custom-built red truck in such comfortable seats and hardly feel the rough terrain at all—the experience is almost like sitting on your sofa at home. Both the guide and the driver were excellent, which played a big part in making the trip so memorable. The guide shared entertaining stories connected to the surroundings we were traveling through. Safety was also clearly a top priority, both during the drive and inside the ice cave. I wholeheartedly recommend taking a tour with Sleipnir Tours up onto the glacier.

My teenagers and I agreed that this was the best experience in our week-long Iceland adventure! The guide was knowledgeable and friendly. The drive to the ice cave was about 90 minutes and, because it had snowed the night before, the "road" conditions were crazy at times. Luckily, the driver was very experienced and the truck was specially designed for just this trip. The ice cave was incredible!!!! Unfortunately, we weren't able to do the second stop on the glacier due to the weather conditions...but it was still worth the tour.

An AMAZING trip, that we 100 % recomend ! The truck is so big and fun to ride, the guid tels us old Icelandic folk stories and informations about glasiers on the way to the cave. The cave was amazing and so beautiful, absolutely stuning !

Amazing experience driving over a glacier in the monster truck as well as seeing the ice cave. Unfortunately there was a bit of a snow storm on the day so visibility wasn't great to take loads of pictures. But if visibility is there the view is spectacular. Exciting part was that another truck had broken down and our truck helped tow them out. Karen was an amazing guide and Gatis was a great driver to help us cross the glacier safely!

An excellent way to explore one of Iceland's glaciers - huge monster bus! Felt very sturdy and we had absolute confidence in our driver. The guide was friendly and knowledgeable and made sure we were suitably kitted out with crampons for the ice cave under the glacier. Thoroughly enjoyable and unique experience.

This trip was absolutely amazing and definitely worth doing. The adventure already starts with the ride itself, because you reach the glacier in a giant Monster Bus. The vehicle looks like something built for a polar expedition, and watching it move effortlessly over snow and ice is an experience on its own. Riding in it already feels like a real adventure. Once you arrive, you get to enter a glacier ice cave, which is something truly special. Standing inside a glacier and seeing the natural formations around you is hard to compare to anything else. It really makes you realize how powerful and raw nature is in this part of Iceland. Another big plus is how well everything is organized. The team clearly knows the entire route very well and you feel that you are in good hands the whole time, even in such a remote and extreme environment. If you’re visiting Iceland and want to experience something unique, the Monster Bus trip to the glacier and ice cave is definitely one of those unforgettable adventures. A truly incredible experience.

We spent ages researching what to do in Iceland and for a family we decided this was the best glacier trip for us. We were not disappointed. The trip started in the car park at Gullfoss waterfall and we boarded the huge monster truck. This was very comfortable. There were about 40 people on our trip. We drove for about 45 minutes up on to the Glacier. Our tour guide Erkla ( I think) gave us lots of info and stories enroute. There was plenty to look at. When we arrived we were all given crampons to put on over our hiking shoes and then we went into the natural ice cave. This was awesome! They had put some lights inside so you could see. We had time to take photos and play in the snow before we headed back on the monster truck. Enroute we stopped at another amazing viewpoint to be able to take more photos and enjoy the views. This was a really great trip and one we will remember for a long time. Highly recommend it. Our boys 11 and 9 yrs really loved it. Don't forget your sunglasses, it is very bright on the glacier!

We were a bit unlucky with visibility as it was cloudy but it did not stop us from being amazed by the scenery. Total whiteness has its charms. The ice cave was impressive. The guides are fun, very careful with safety and they make sure to entertain you with history and geography facts and folklore stories. They give explanations and you can ask them questions about the glacier, the ice cave and much more. The truck was comfy, safe and heated, perfect trip. Many cool photo spots.

The views are amazing and the tour guides and drivers are incredibly friendly! My family and I booked the tour last minute when we saw the red monster truck-looking van and this was definitely a lucky addition to our trip! The company is family run and the tour guides are knowledgeable, telling stories of Icelandic folklore. The second stop on the glacier tour also offers hot chocolate and sledding!

We had the adventure of a lifetime with Sleipnir Walking on a glacier has been on my “life list” since I was a kid. So this was the perfect tour. Our guide and driver were informative, professional, and fun. They made this adventure even more wonderful than we expected. Riding on the monster truck through rivers and up the glacier on 4 feet of new snow had us all thrilled. The views were spectacular and unparalleled. We were fortunate to have excellent weather: clear skies. The truck stopped at many points allowing everyone to disembark and enjoy the pristine snow and photograph the views. It was amusing to watch the handful of young children play in the snow. Many of the adults joined,too. We were able to enter an ice cave wearing the provided crampons. Very cool!! Our guide, Erla, loves her job and sharing her knowledge of a lifetime on the glacier. Overall we highly recommend this company and tour. And absolutely we would do this trip again.

What a fantastic experience it was to climb a glacier in a monster truck! Riding in that bus felt like we were on a ship gliding in the sky. Our guide Karen had facts and folklore that accompanied the surrounding mountains along the way, and even sang us a chilling Icelandic lullaby that gave me goosebumps. Helgi is an exceptionally smooth driver. He even took us off-roading a bit. When we got to the ice cave I had almost forgotten that the cave was the point of the tour! 😋 We got to go inside the beautiful ice cave which was filled with water only last week. I learned so much about the power of nature, and can’t wait to do more traveling around this country. Thank you Sleipnir for an unforgettable experience!

Excellent day, driver and guide fantastic. We were given so much history on Iceland it was lovely to hear. The monster truck was so clean and very comfortable. Well worth the money. I would recommend this for your to do list.

Bought the tour prepaid in 2023 to give my fiancée a dream come true to see an ice cave, there was never opportunity to go to the ice cave that winter due to many weather reasons and after many attempts I gave up and took the tour as summerversion with no icecave and 10% refund in November 2024. That included hot beverage and kleina, short drive upon the glacier edge, poor attempt on sliding on a plastic circular slide down barely slope and we did no golfing as was described as option but we drank water out of a creek. Not much view due to whiteout but we saw bits of blue glacier when the other tourists were not chopping at it with an iceax or disrespectfully kicking down the glacier sand cone formation, it takes long time to form one in nature. The guide was not a guide but someone from the office. But the driver was professional. I could have taken my fiancée out for romantic 3 course dinner twice for that amount. A lesson learned. Should have taken full refund and go out for dinner instead.

The monster truck made the trip so comfortable. Glacier is fantastic and ice cave had ash and rock suspended in the dark ice. Tour guide provided interesting information and took great care of us.

The absolute best day out from start to finish. Freya was our guide and she was fantastic, friendly, welcoming and had a wonderful way of keeping the excitement going. We were lucky to have deep snow and a new glacier cave to go in. Honestly cannot recommend it enough, just book it!

Absolutely amazing tour . My sons loved going up in this gigantic red truck . We drove through a white out. Great tour and commentary . Clean and just one of those Iceland experiences that you wouldn’t want to miss . My kids called it the red monster truck . It drove through piles of snow . The ice cave was awesome . Don’t think twice . Book it . They were very communicative when I checked about weather updates and a cancelled tour . The tours in Iceland are all weather dependent . I’m so happy that they took this tour out when we were there

We had a fantastic trip on the Sleipnir monster truck. Progress is sedate but the views en route to and on the glacier are amazing. We did experience a mechanical malfunction in the sub-zero temperature but our guide was brilliant and we got back safe, albeit slightly delayed. The trip was brilliant nonetheless.

Very cool truck. Fascinating scenery, narrated well by our guide. Crawling into the ice cave was one of the coolest things I have ever experienced. Imagine yourself surrounded above and below by 300 year-old ice, perfectly lit. Magical!

I can honestly say that the experience was absolutely amazing! Driving this unique vehicle through deserted areas fully covered with snow was an adventure in itself. And of course, visiting a real ice cave is an experience that only a few can feel - completely unusual.

Was really looking forward to this excursion and sadly was unable to see the glacier or ice cave. Bad weather came in forcing us to turn around and go back. The guides really tried their hardest from getting out and walking to find the road to calling for snow mobiles to guide but it was too bad. It was our last day but for sure if I come back I will book with them. They did provide a refund since we couldn’t see anything.

The tour guide and driver were so friendly and full of great information and stories! We had a fantastic time seeing the beautiful scenery on the drive up to the glacier, and then being able to go into the ice cave was an unforgettable experience. My glasses fogged up but their handrails helped me easily walk down the steps. 10/10 would recommend to others!

The views were amazing the bus a little overheated on the way out and then a little cooler on the way back. The only problem is that you have to drive to get to Gulfoss and then you are on a big bus so quite a lot of time in a vehicle. But very glad to have done it, I would have liked to do the quad biking

Odin’s Horse went over the river and past the one tree to get to the ice cave & it was amazing! The snow was deep and we saw other people get stuck but not our truck! It did take longer than usual to get to the ice cave but it was worth it! Be aware you have to crawl in backwards and the stairs down are very steep. You also can’t stand all the way up in the cave. We had hot chocolate and Jökla(like Bailey’s) and little donuts to warm up. Our group made snow angels while we waited. The ride back went much faster. It was amazing to be there knowing the glaciers will be gone someday! Thank you!!!

It was a great experience. The views were incredible, we loved going inside the glacier, and the guides told us lots of interesting information about what we were seeing and the history. Loved the jokes too!

Amazing experience crossing Langjökull with this beast! Views are amazing, but the guide is even better! Some Icelandic jokes and music will lead you to the cave. Which is stunning! Super new discovered and natural ice cave where you can see the different ice layers throught the years. Awesome!

We chose the ice cave tour. This tour for me was once in a lifetime sort of trip. The staff was awesome! The guides were informative and the ride was great. I highly recommend!
