Hvammsvík Hot Spring With Return Transfers From Reykjavík

We we to the spring through a Viator excursion. Everything went smoothly from the pickup to the drop off. The hot springs were so much fun despite going on a very cold and rainy day. They have multiple pools of different temperatures from very warm to very cold and even have a swim up bar for hot chocolate or hot toddies. That was my favorite pool due to its location in relation to the dressing room. When entering the main building, we were given wristbands to charge purchases to. Then we each rented a towel because we didn’t bring our own. Then we went into the locker room and took unclothed showers before entering our first hot tub. The walk/run to the first hot tub was chilling, but we were rewarded with a nice hot pool al the end of our short walk. Walking between pools, we were cold, so we went into the sauna to warm up. We finished off our day with a delicious lunch in their cafe. I highly recommend the tour!

Excelllent facilities - showers, restaurant, toilets. Well organized. Easy to get around and not crowded. 2 hours passes before you know it. Recommend you do it all - even the cold plunges!

Perfect 1/2 day!!! My son who is a teenager enjoyed it too. It is perfect if you have a sunny day, we got lucky!

45min drive from Hotel but calm and less crowded than others

Pick up process was smooth and went as described. Bus was on the small side with seats close together. A little cramped for anyone over 5’10”. Driver was friendly and safe (but was just a driver - no commentary). Hvammsvik Hot Springs was very nice. We enjoyed trying the different pools (with varying degrees of warmth) and the occasional “plunge” in the cold ocean. It was very relaxing to sit in the hot pools and view the scenery. We were there midday and it was not crowded. There was plenty of room in each pool. Lockers and shower facilities were clean and efficient. We ate lunch there. A little pricey but good. We would take this tour again.

The hot springs were great! Beautiful place immersed in scenic natural surroundings. Bring water shoes if you want to go into the ocean, it’s rocky but the cold plunge was so refreshing. I’m a little disappointed with the communication with the tour company. After reaching out three times about a pick up at the cruise terminal I got no where. We taxied to the bus station and returned there and had to taxi back to the port. The ride there and back was fine and the experience at the springs was wonderful. I definitely recommend

This was an absolutely stunning experience. I had gone to the Blue Lagoon earlier in the week, and while I really enjoyed that one, the Hvammsvik Hot Springs are on another level. It was a relaxing escape that afforded the opportunity to literally soak in the stunning Icelandic scenery. Quiet and not overrun with tourists, it was the perfect getaway for a few hours. After a good soak in the springs, and a freezing cold plunge in the fjord, I decided to clean off and grab lunch in the cafe. Don't let the small rustic space of the cafe fool you - the food is next level along with the hot springs. Booking through Viator and finding the bus was relatively easy, for an overall enjoyable tour. Hands down a great experience and highly recommend!

Bus was clean and comfortable and on time. The spa was lovely and beautiful. Nice changing room, showers. The cafe was crowded so bring a snack if you think you’ll be hungry.

Scenic drive there. Great choice of pools from hot to cool. Or, dip in the inlet. Bring beach shoes; beach sand a bit sharp. Great snacks at the Cafe.

We really enjoyed the fact that there were many different hot springs varying in sizes and temperatures. We also loved the fact that there was a swim up bar. The drinks were great.

This is my only hot spring experience in Iceland and I’m very glad I picked here. It’s not big but has enough spaces to still feel private. It just hard to beat that you get the beautiful view in the back drop.

Warm water, big mountains. The showers at the hot springs are great, with good shampoo and soap. The cafe has a beautiful view. But I spent too much time in the hot springs to take advantage of the cafe.

Definitely a better experience than the Blue Lagoon which feels so commercial. If you don't have much time, I would recommend you pick the hot springs over the lagoon.

The bus was on time, the driver made sure all who were supposed to be on the bus were accounted for. The Hvammsvik hot springs were enjoyable and relaxing.

We went on a 3 day bus tour of the South Coast and the Golden Circle. Our local tour guide was very knowledgeable about geography and volcanoes. Our last part was visiting the hot springs at Hvammarvik- a gorgeous location on a lake and not crowded! I would go back again and spend more time touring around.

Absolutely loved this experience. We were so lucky that the day was beautiful. The sun shone and it was warm. This trip was with the wonderful Elly as our driver and guide. She was so friendly and knowledgeable about Iceland. The spa itself was very understated and gorgeous. It merged into the landscape and was unobtrusive and felt so natural. Met some lovely people from all over the world but it didn’t feel busy at all. I actually did manage a quick dip in the ocean which was a super experience too. Very clean and well operated. A beautiful coffee afterwards too. Thank you Elly and the lovely staff at the hot springs 🙏🏻🙏🏻

This is a truly magical place that must be experienced. Much different vibe than the Blue Lagoon. The setting was just absolutely stunning. The tour was a great way of getting there. Pickup is at the bust terminal which is close to all and drop off was at whatever bus stop you wanted so that was very convenient to pick one close to your destination. Food and drink are available for purchase at the hot springs (there is a walk up bar to get drinks). You need to bring a towel and water shoes/flip flops to walk on the beach and between the springs. The locker room was beautiful and the lockers were big enough to fit a backpack and clothes. There is a separate spot for shoes right when you walk into the locker room. The showers were private and warm. This place was the highlight of our trip and this tour made it easy!

This place is otherworldly and so beautiful! Very elegant and simple changing rooms and restaurant, and the natural beauty surrounding you as you soak is just incredible. Had a wonderful time, and not having to get myself there and back from Reykjavík was very nice - the transfer was super reliable and comfortable, and it gave us plenty of time there.

We did the hot springs shuttle experience and Tommy was so wonderful! Everything went smooth and he was more than happy to tell us stories and answer questions on the drive. Great trip!

Great experience. Staff extremely helpful. Extremely relaxing and worked wonders for my eczema. Highly recommend this - it was me, my mum and sister, so a great chance to chill together. Not over crowded at all - clearly thought has been put into not making it a purely tourist attraction. The changing suits had everything which is included in the price - shampoo, conditioner, soap, hair dryers etc. and lockable lockers. Don’t forget shoes (flip flops / sliders) and if you want to take your phone you need something to make it waterproof like a pouch. Like everything in Iceland, the drinks are very expensive.

Our driver Carlos was such a great guide as well on the way to the hot spring. I had such a great time in Hvammsvik. The view was absolutely amazing!!! Changing room and shower area was very clean. We didn’t try any food there but I’ve heard it’s really good so next time I’ll definitely try it.

Carlos was a phenominal guide we absolutely loved the Hvammsvik Hot Springs trip. Highly reccomend such a special place everybody needs a taste of this place ❤️ and you must try the seafood soup, absolutely amazing. All staff so friendly and helpful. I hope to return.

We did this Hyammsvik spring activity in March when the snow was heavy and the weather was very bad all day. We got on the bus and I was honestly a bit apprehensive about whether it would be good. [pause for dramatic effect] It was brilliant. The view is incredible; the service from the staff excellent; the facilities clean; and the pools warm enough even for winter/spring. Try to go in the sea if you can, because you will leave feeling like a boss/viking whale man. We booked a transfer separately with the driver Carlos a.k.a ‘El Jefe’ who was excellent. Carlos had a good sense of humour, a strangely deep knowledge of the springs, drove to schedule in challenging conditions, and was very complimentary about the local horses. This was the best thing we did in Iceland (for scale about 10x better than the Perlan, which itself was quite good). As with everything in Iceland, the only downside was that I wept slightly at the cost of it (and the unavoidable coach transfer), which in other European countries would have paid for the entire holiday, a banquet and a sack of jewels.

Carlos was an excellent guide who got us to and from the outdoor spa safely and provided some excellent commentary on Iceland. The outdoor spa is in a stunning location providing a number of pools of varying temperatures, one even has access to the bar😊

Carlos is the best tour guide in the game. We have had a few as of recently, none have come close. Freindly and funny! Best thing we have done in a while, im going to have a nap now, super relaxing experience.

It was an amazing experience. When we arrived there was an electrical issue so we needed to wait for about 30 minutes but they gave as a drink as a compensation. It was snowing when we arrived but really relaxing once you dip in the water. Koustantinos was really a good driver/ tour guide. Really recommend.

Amazing experience, the pick-up point was clear. When we arrived the lagoon unfortunately had electricity issues and we had to wait about 30 minutes before entering, but Konstantinos coordinated things well with the staff and managed to delay our departure for all of us to be able to enjoy everything for the full 2 hours. During the trip Konstantinos also spoke very nicely regarding the surrounding areas we passed by, which was a great addition for the 1-hour ride 😄 Thank youu!

Great spa and thanks to Carlos the trip was a breeze. Great athmosphere and he managed to give us a bit of time back sinve it was heavy snowinf when we left.

Hvammsvik was such a wonderful spot to visit. The water was the perfect temperature and the view was incredible. We also got to try the fish soup which was delicious! Our driver Carlos made the experience even better. He was so knowledgeable of the area. Our visit felt so personalized and magical.

Really unique experience compared to Blue Lagoon and Sky Lagoon. We had a wonderful time in the spa area and the food was amazing. Our driver Stefan was also great!

What an amazing trip! Honestly did not expect the excellent Hospitality we had from Carlos.. really made sure we had the beat experience ever! Gave us all the best advice and explained some great stuff on the way, discussing how we might squeeze in a sitting of the northern lights en route back! Hvammsvik was amazing, had lots of time there and an unforgettable experience in the hot springs woth the beautiful views of the mountains.. even had an appearance of a few seals!

Our experience was amazing! Initially we planned just to visit hot tubes but Carlos recommended us the restaurant so much that we decided to follow his advice and it was the best decision!
