Leifur was a very charming guide who went out of his way to make the experience better for us through his knowledge of the Golden Circle. The waterfall was easily my favourite stop.

Itinerary
Step into Iceland’s dramatic landscapes at Þingvellir National Park, where you can walk between two continents along the rift between the North American and Eurasian tectonic plates. This UNESCO World Heritage Site is rich with history, once home to the world’s oldest parliament, and surrounded by stunning views of lava fields, crystal-clear springs, and towering cliffs. Along the way, you’ll take in some of Iceland’s most iconic scenery—raw, powerful, and unforgettable.
Witness the raw energy of the Earth at Geysir, the famous geothermal area that gave all geysers their name. Though the Great Geysir itself now erupts rarely, nearby Strokkur puts on a spectacular show every few minutes—shooting boiling water up to 30 meters into the air. Surrounded by steaming vents, bubbling mud pots, and colorful hot springs, this is one of Iceland’s most surreal and unforgettable landscapes.
Feel the power of nature at Gullfoss, one of Iceland’s most iconic waterfalls. Here, glacial water from the Langjökull ice cap plunges into a dramatic canyon, sending mist into the air and creating frequent rainbows on sunny days. Whether viewed from above or up close, Gullfoss is a breathtaking reminder of Iceland’s wild, untamed beauty—roaring, radiant, and unforgettable.
Relax in the heart of Icelandic nature at Laugarás Lagoon, a tranquil geothermal spa tucked into a forest along the Golden Circle. With your Birki or Lerki admission, you’ll enjoy access to warm mineral-rich pools, a cold plunge, saunas, and a stunning waterfall grotto—all surrounded by panoramic views of the Hvítá River. The lagoon’s unique two-level design lets you drift between soothing temperatures, while a swim-up bar adds a touch of indulgence. Birki admission includes full access to the lagoon’s amenities, with showers and toiletries provided. Lerki admission offers the same experience with the added convenience of a towel included. Whether you’re visiting by day or soaking under the northern lights in the evening, Laugarás Lagoon offers the perfect blend of relaxation and scenic beauty—an ideal stop on any Golden Circle itinerary.

Well-informed guide, beautiful landscapes! Would have enjoyed more time at Thingvellir National Park.
Great experience with our driver Leifur.
We loved our tour! Eric was a fantastic tour guide, explaining every piece we needed to know. The bus pick up was easy, and transfers were very easy as well. Would highly recommend!
This was a great tour, Dylan was a great guide, informative and helpful! I really enjoyed the locations, particularly the Laugaras lagoon, but seeing the historical locations with a good description of the history by the guide was very good! Some key things: - adding a thing on to the golden circle like a lagoon reduces your time at places like Thingvellir, we had 30 mins - enough time to walk down to law rock and have a look and go to the loo, but you may want more time - not sure how much more you get with other tours without a lagoon though, but we spent two hours at the lagoon - you can rent swimwear and a towel at Laugarás lagoon, but obvs cheaper to bring your own - there is food available at Gulfoss and geysir, but it is pricy, I spent £30 on two sandwiches, admittedly quite nice sandwiches and for Iceland not that surprising but still
Fantastic, Dylan was excellent tour guide.
Interesting history about the country.
When we arrived in Reykjavik without a fixed itinerary we were at first unsure whether to book a guided tour or drive ourselves. In the end, we were glad to have gone with the tour. Our guide Gunnar and driver Joi were friendly and knowledgeable (even teaching me a few things about my own country that I did not know) and made the tour feel special even in a large group. Highly recommend for anyone visiting beautiful Iceland soon.
This was tour SRE07 on the 24th of October. What a fantastic day, we were gifted with near perfect weather, sunny and crisp showing the real beauty of Iceland. Our tour guide Lasma was excellent, great knowledge and narration was excellent a credit to the photographer organisation. We were just literally blown away by this tour.
The meeting point was bus stop 1, it wasn’t explained very well it was a bus with pick up and drop off on, which then took us to the main bus terminal/tour. Then we had to find another bus to get on for the trip, it was walking around till we found someone who then directed us to someone else who showed us the bus to go to. The bus then was ok, the driver dr G/gunner b was amazing talking all the way through. Explaining different cultures in Iceland, and the back ground the information was nice to listen to.
Great way to tick off the highlights of the Golden Circle and then at the end of a busy day, spend a few hours at the lagoon. Our guide was ok but the mic on the bus made it hard to make out what he was saying and he would then talk about something that was coming up…, then confirm we’d past it, rather than talk about as we were seeing it which was odd. It was extremely disappointing that our bus drop off was not there at the end. Our guide said all the buses were there to take us home, they were, apart from the pink line so we were left in the cold and dark with no bus. When I found a rep and asked, she quite rudely said it could be up to 20 mins for a transfer. Well, that seems it luck of the draw which colour bus is there. To be fair Reykjavik Excursions have quite a good set up, little buses pick up/drop off at specific stops in the city and they transfer you to the main bus station for the bigger buses, which works well unless you’re is the only one not there.
We had a wonderful experience on this tour, and it ended up being our absolute favorite of the entire trip! From the start, everything went smoothly, we were picked up promptly from the bus depot and traveled in a smaller, cozy, tour bus. Our tour guide, Lasma, was incredible. She did a fantastic job-sharing insights about each location, along with fascinating tidbits of Icelandic history and geography. Lasma was there for us every step of the way, happily answering all of our questions and truly making the tour great in every way. The itinerary was perfectly paced, allowing ample time at each stop for sightseeing, bathroom breaks, and light shopping. While famous sights like the waterfalls and Geysir are remarkable must-sees no matter how you visit them, the real highlight for us was the Laugaras Lagoon. It’s a newer lagoon with excellent, spacious shower rooms and spectacular landscape views. I highly recommend trying it over the overcrowded Blue Lagoon, it felt like we had the entire place to ourselves! However, not a lot of food options so maybe grab a snack prior. A great guide makes all the difference, and Lasma truly made this trip unforgettable. I highly recommend both this tour company and Lasma to anyone visiting Iceland!
We had such a good day with Hershey (his Nickname) as our tour guide. He was funny, knowledgeable and happy to answer all the questions. The bus was comfortable, the stops were incredible and we were given a good amount of time to explore. Thank you!
Dylan was the best guide. I highly recommend the tour and him as a guide. Very informative and good natured. Note that there are several pick up spots, so arrive early just in case your spot is first. The tour was supposed to start at 9:00 AM, but our pickup said 8:30. He had shown up at exactly 8:30 and left to get the others because we were a few minutes late. That was our fault, and he was nice about it and circled back to our spot after he got the others. That was extremely understanding of him. Please arrive early! A great way to see and experience Iceland.
Lovely day with just enough time to visit Thingvellir Park, Geysir, and Gullfoss, before heading to Laugaras Lagoon. Laugarás was delightful; we loved the atmosphere. Thanks to Dori, who was a great driver and guide.
Fantastic day!!! Wonderful guide, beautiful locations, especially the lagoon. It was so luxurious! Would recommend!
Lasma was wonderful! We had an amazing day.
As a couple we thoroughly enjoyed this tour. Our guide was super informative, in a humourous and unboring way. Each stop had its own beauty and marvel. We would highly recommend this tour. Thanks to our wonderful guide Eric.
Erik was an amazing tour director and very informative. He was really clear about instructions and how to navigate each area. The only con was not having a clear pickup time from the hotel lobby in the morning. Overall the tour was an amazing experience.
Our guide Eric was very personable and made the whole experience easy and enjoyable. The trip was great and he was so informative, kept us on time, and clearly cared about our safety. Highly recommend.
Overall thought it was great and well done. The guide was informational and fun; it was great learning so much on top of seeing impressive amazing sights. I do think it would be beneficial to have more time at the national park tour, that was too short and felt rushed without getting to see all we wanted.
Leifur was great! Great tour. !
This tour included a great collection of all things "Iceland." It was a long day, but everything we experienced was my favorite. The majesty of the Gullfoss waterfall cannot be believed unless experienced in person. Ending with the Laugaras Lagoon was a decadent way to unwind before returning to Reykjavik. The adventure was enhanced 1000% by the historical and factual information, interlaced with humor, provided by our driver and guide, Gudjon Jes, while we traveled from one site to the next. If possible, I would highly recommend requesting him to guide your tour.
Trip was really good. BSI staff saved the day when I left my phone on the transfer bus and they got it to me before tour left- so very grateful. Our guide Tony was and absolutely star! Full of information that he shared through the whole trip.
Tony the tour guide was fantastic. Good tour overall to see a good amount of things in one day
Wonderful experience!! Gudjon Jes was a fantastic driver and a font of knowledge as our guide. We learned about the history of Iceland, the Sagas, the sights we went to (Geysir, Thingvellir National Park, Gullfoss, Laugaras lagoon), elves, Iceland’s form of government and religion, Icelandic horses and much much more). He made the time traveled fly by. There wasn’t any question he didn’t know the answer to. 10 out of 10 stars. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Godjon was a fantastic tour guide for the day! He was very knowledgeable about the area and told us many stories about Iceland. It was great hearing about people that had made a difference in Iceland's history. Highly recommend Godjon as a tour guide!
Tour guide Godjon Jes was amazing and super knowledgeable. He knew the answer to every question and told very engaging stories about history and folklore throughout the entire tour. Would highly recommend.
Jon was superb! Extremely knowledgeable about all things Iceland; fantastic history lesson, and current events. Loved the activities as well!
Gudjon Jes was a very knowledgeable and interesting guide. He did a wonderful job driving and keeping us moving and on track. Thanks Gudjon for a great tour.
Mike our guide was amazing. The tour was awesome. We had a great day!
Nikki was great. We learned so much ch about Iceland
My wife and I booked the Golden Circle and Lagoon tour for our anniversary and loved it. From the second we got moving on the bus, Dylan was a fountain of knowledge. Not only did my wife and learn so much about the culture and history of Iceland, but the stops along the way were stunning. It’s a good thing we booked another tour for tomorrow! 5/5 you should do it if you have the time, and if you don’t have the time, make some!
We had a great time today with our guide, Gunnar RA, who was knowledgeable and ensured we had a fun and thorough introduction to Iceland. The sites (well known spots and essential to getting to know the depth of this country's intertwined culture and landscape) were phenomenal, topped off with a trip to the new Laugarás Lagoon. As it's still so new, it was profoundly peaceful, with sparkling new change rooms and facilities. We feel very lucky to have visited before it becomes the hottest new spot on the Golden Circle!
Our guide Gunnar RA was excellent and very knowledgeable. Great introduction for first timers going to Iceland. The Laugarus Lagoon was a perfect t way to end the trip.
Do not use this operator for your Golden Circle tour. I would highly advise sourcing an alternative provider. This morning, myself and 2 other passengers were left behind at the pick up point despite being there at least 15 min before the required time. On contacting Icelandia I was informed that I had ‘missed’ the pick up and it was too late to join the tour. Additionally, despite being left behind, the company refused me a refund. I searched Trip Advisor and this has happened to others before me. I accept I will not get my money back, but I just don’t want this to happen to anyone else. I am travelling back to Scotland tomorrow feeling very cheated and disappointed.
Great tour, especially appreciated Tony, our driver and guide. He was kind, professional, he filled the travel time with interesting, helpful information and stories. He also prepped us well for each stop and kept an eye us. We also really enjoyed the Laugaras Lagoon; a wonderful way to end the day.
Tony was truly amazing. I couldn't recommend him and this tour enough!!Great
Tony was amazing not only telling fun stories but also answering silly questions like someone asking to hug a sheep.
Excellent experience. Eric was very knowledgeable and an excellent story teller.
amazing tour with Lasma the tour guide and siggi the driver
Amazing Tour and a great and knowledgeable guide Lasma! My only wish was a little more time but the first stop at the Tectonic Plates. Otherwise a really great tour of the Golden Circle.
It was a very great excursion!
We booked this excursion in advance. I am only writing this review because of our amazing tour guide Tony!!! We learned so much! It was a small bus, so everything felt very private. We were traveling from Alabama, US! Great experience!! Marjan & Elaine
We throughly enjoyed our tour today with the Leifur of the Golden Circle. The weather was great (got to see two rainbows) and we really enjoyed the beauty, the history and the commentary from Leifur. The Gullfoss waterfall and Laugrais Lagoon were the highlight of the day. Loved the intimacy, atmosphere and views of the Lagoon. 10/10 experience and would highly recommend.
Wonderful tour and great tour director Dori. Got to see some of the most beautiful parts of Iceland.
It's a long day of bus travel but the sites are spectacular and the final stop at the Laugaras Lagoon was terrific.
Our guide Höskuldur was the absolute best!! Fun and informative and made the whole trip go from a 10/10 to a 100/10!!
Gudyon Jes was an amazing tour guide! We all enjoyed ourselves and would recommend it!
Nikki the tour guide was very informative about Icelantic history and culture. Every place we visited was wonderful. Hightly recommend!!
