A great way to see so many breathtaking sights in a short space of time. Having around 30–45 minutes at each stop was just perfect, giving us enough time to explore, take photos and really take in the scenery without feeling too rushed. Price was fine for what was included. Wear comfortable shoes and be prepared for all seasons in one afternoon, as the weather can change very quickly! Axel was a lovely guide, friendly, helpful and knowledgeable, and the pickup was right on time. My only complaint was that the bus was cramped, especially for anyone on the taller side. Overall, though, a fantastic experience and a great way to see so much in just one afternoon. Would 100% recommend!

Itinerary
Your adventure day tour starts with an afternoon Reykjavik pick up. From the capital you will head towards your first sightseeing stop of the day, Thingvellir National Park.
Thingvellir is rich in both gelogy and history, being the place where the Eurasian and North American tectonic plates are going a part as well as holding the oldest existing parliatment in the worldd, Althingi which was founded there in the year of 930. Drink in the true beauty and power of mother nature at this wonderful national Park before continuing to your next stop, Geysir hot spring area.
Geysir is all about spouting geysers. Here you will get to experience Strokkur geysir spout water up to 25 - 40 m up in the air. It is an experience like no other, stunning but incredible moment so make sure to bring your camera along. Strokkur erupts every 8 - 10 minutes.
The final highlight of your Golden Circle sightseeing adventure is the magical Gullfoss Waterfall, better known as the Golden Falls. Gullfoss is the most popular waterfall in Iceland and for a good reason, this beautiful waterfall drops 32 m in two stages providing you with some great photo opportunities. After admiring the breathtaking beauty of Gullfoss Waterfall you will start making your way back to Reykjavik where your tour ends. You can expect to be back in Reykjavik at around 18:00 PM.
Kerið crater, a geological wonder formed over 6,500 years ago, is the result of a volcanic eruption that caused a cone-shaped volcano to collapse, leaving behind the striking crater we see today. Over time, the crater filled with water, creating a beautiful blue lake within its caldera. The vibrant blue-green waters and the contrasting red volcanic rock make Kerið a must-see destination. The caldera spans 886 feet (270 meters) in diameter, with steep walls reaching up to 180 feet (55 meters) high. From the crater rim, you can enjoy breathtaking panoramic views of the surrounding landscape and distant mountains on clear days. For a closer look, take a 20-minute loop hike around the lake to capture stunning photos and fully appreciate the crater's mesmerizing blue waters. In summer, the red volcanic rocks contrast beautifully with the green moss. In winter, you'll be enchanted by the snow-covered slopes and the frozen lake, making Kerið a year-round wonder.

This was a truly wonderful experience, one that impacted my head and heart. I learnt a huge amount from our high energy, hugely knowledgeable and socially aware tour guide Franklin. The sights were stunning and I felt that I came away really moved by what I had seen and learnt. The tour guides passion for Iceland and the places we were touring were exceptional. Having travelled to almost every continent I can say that with authority. A wonderful experience I would do all over again.
Christian was knowledgeable and extremely enthusiastic!! Would recommend to anyone anytime anywhere!! Thank you thank you thank you!!
We did the Golden Circle tour today in a small group. It was amazing!! Our tour guide Thor was fantastic and so knowledgable regarding local history. We learned a great deal! He definitely made the trip better. This tour is a must and the sight are a must-see!!
No complaints here. Tour felt relaxed, but efficient. Theb volcano, geyser, tectonic plates and waterfalls were very interesting and didn't require much walking unless you wanted to. I think the were bathrooms available at all but one stop and they were free. Our gude/driver was Biergvin and he was excellent.
Our guide was excellent and a couple of spots on the trip defy description. The pickup was fine but a little confusing as multiple tours pickup at the same location. The tour starts with a visit to a bakery for coffee and a pastry, as good as they were it wasn’t necessary and I’d rather have the time at other locations. The next stop is the crater which is impressive (if you have mobility issues this might not be for you), then there is a stop to see some Icelandic Horses, beautiful animals but I felt like we were at a petting zoo and could also skip this part. Then Gullfoss, the pictures of Gullfoss don’t do it justice and it is incredible (if you have problems with stairs you might want to skip) then the Geyser and lunch. The last stop is in the National Park and to be honest I would have loved more time here as it is spectacular. My one complaint was the van was cramped and uncomfortable. Wear waterproof clothing and don’t be an @$$ and block the walk ways to take your ego image (selfie) or IG post and don’t duck under the ropes to get a photo in the environmentally sensitive areas.
This was a great way to pack in many sights in a half-day tour. Some highlights included a national park and walking between two tectonic plates, seeing the geysers erupt, and of course beautiful waterfalls. It was also cool to see an actual crater. Our tour guide was great and we even got to pass by a horse farm to see some Icelandic horses. If you don't want to take our a full day, this is a great way to see some of the natural highlights of Iceland.
Awesome - must see if visiting Rejkavic! Our Golden Circle tour was extremely informative. Our guide was knowledgeable on the venues visited.
Awesome guide… Francesca! Great knowledge and such enthusiasm!
This was a great tour. The guide was very nice.
Our driver/host, Indra, was fabulous. He was on time and extremely knowledgeable about the different sites on the tour. He expertly discussed the various communities, cultures and geology of the areas we drove through. Indra is very approachable and responded well to all members of the group. Taking the tour in a smaller group was a wise choice as it made it easy to keep to a schedule and maximize our time at each site.
What an amazing trip from start to finish Our driver/guide was very informative, relaxed atmosphere, humorous and engaging Great weather only rained at our last stop Fantastic photo opportunities- loved every minute of it Highly recommend
We saw so much in the six hours and our driver/ guide was fantastic! He keep us informed, gave us suggestions , etc. Definitely recommend this tour and this company.
We spent the afternoon on tour after landing from our redeye flight that morning. Pick up was only a block walk from our hotel. Asctis Greta was our guide. She was so engaging providing so much information on her homeland and heritage. We loved the small tour bus feel compared to the large coach buses. Greta even altered our tour so that the geyser stop was less crowded on the second pass by. We had sufficient time to walk around and take photos at all the stops. Even driving the country side was so informative, she kept us safe and comfortable despite the rainy roads. Thank you for the introduction to your beautiful country.
Wonderful experience, especially if you only have a short time in Iceland. Plan to get wet, dress accordingly.
Orn was a wonderful guide that keep all his 18 passengers safely and efficiently in his care. I appreciated his insight in all our sights and his dry humor.
Excellent tour of 4 major attractions. Keep in mind there will be lots of other people interested, to include very large buses with lots of people. The least interesting is the Geyser - it is a much smaller than Yellowstone, but still interesting. The gift shop and restaurant there are the best you will find on the trip. Also - I appreciated the initial stop at a small mall shortly after we started. The bakery there is really great! And nearby handmade shop is fantastic as well. The length of the tour is fine; you might feel a bit rushed at each attraction, but I think visiting the same places with an additional 2-3 hours would be too slow. We only had 2 full days in Iceland and were glad to be able to do this in the afternoon (versus all day).
Great way to see main sights in a (long) afternoon if you’re short of time in Reykjavik. Maria was very helpful and full of interesting information about Iceland, its history and people. Would recommend.
Had an amazing time!! Bruno was so knowledgeable and awesome!
Guide Indra was great. Knowledgeable and helpful.
This was a great 5 1/2 hour tour of the Golden Circle! We only had 1 day in Reykjavik and this tour was a great way to experience the country in a short time. Lara was incredible. She picked us up from the City Hall, a 4 minute walk from our hotel. She took us to all the attractions advertised. Lara was a wonderful guide. She was a wealth of information on Iceland and its history. She was also very interactive and flexible with our group. Lara was one of the best guides we have ever had! Highly recommend this tour!
Fantastic day trip. Easy to find from the cruise ship. Great van. Very engaging guide. Amazing itinerary. Highly recommend. Every stop was great including I found the greenhouses very interesting. I wish we had had lunch there.
This was a great tour even in the pouring rain. Hit some Iceland Highlights. Definitely worth it! You will enjoy every minute!
We really enjoyed this tour as a first day of getting a “taste of Iceland”. Tomas was a fantastic guide, with lots of information and a lively, fun personality. The bus was comfortable and modern. Waterfalls, horses, a geyser, and tectonic plate divide—all fascinating. Thank you!
Saw good stuff but not enough time to explore and enjoy. It was see it and move on quickly. Get a photo if you can, but not a good one.
Lovely stops and interesting views along the way. After visiting Yellowstone several times, I thought the geyser was not impressive; what was *very* impressive was all the geothermal activity on the hillsides for miles along the road. Although I’d have liked to spend more time at each of the stops, and would encourage folks to take an all-day tour if possible, I couldn’t do so because of my cruise ship schedule. I would have liked to have had more narration from our driver/guide, learning more about both what I saw and Iceland in general.
This was a wonderful way to experience Iceland and learn about the culture from an Icelander. Great tour.
The tour was fantastic! The waterfall is the largest in Europe and impressive. The tectonic plate shift was amazing. Our driver even stopped for us to be able to pet some Icelandic horses. The main geyser went off on a regular basis in around six minutes so it was good to be able to get pictures of the eruption. Iceland has some impressive geologic wonders. The tour was worth it and our driver was the best!
Great way to get a feel for Iceland. It will make you want to book that return trip right away. Our driver, Monica, was so knowledgeable and fun.
We were one of 8 buses picked up from the cruise ship doing the same tour, Guna our lovely guide went the opposite way to the others so that it wouldn’t be as busy at the attractions. We still saw everything but in a different order. Guna was very knowledgeable and told us about the areas, her country and more. The only slight criticism is that we could have spent more time at the waterfall and less at the geyser as most want to walk to the top of the falls which can take a bit longer. Saying that we managed it and got back just in time.
Fantastic tour. So great seeing the golden circle. Such a wonderful experience. So glad we had a great guide, Kristo. He was very knowledgeable, friendly and fun. He drove very safely. I recommend him highly!
Came to Reykjavík for a cruise and booked this on the day we landed. Our guide, Francesca (from Italy) was incredible! We saw everything, had ample time at each stop, and she gave us just the right amount of information.
Company Arctic Adventures was a good experience. Tour guide was very informative and nice to listen to. She made a great plan to alleviate some crowds since we had come in on a cruise ship. I wish the company used the communication feature on Viator. I was personally having email troubles on my trip and was concerned about any potential hiccups. Overall experience was very good.
Very nice tour. Probably one of the best waterfalls in the world. Nicely run park with miles of trails to walk. The ride seems long but moves along well.
A 'must do' tour when in Reykjavik. The Thingvellir National Park where you can walk on the Mid-Atlantic Ridge is awesome, the power and volume of water over Gullfoss waterfall is thunderous, Geysir is unpredictable but worth the wait and the Kerid Crater reminds you of the forces that are still shaping the landscape in Iceland. Our tour guide and driver, Dominica of Arctic Tours, was informative, engaging and ever helpful. A wonderful sample of Iceland which will encourage you to return.
The afternoon tour only gives you 20-40 minutes at each stop and if someone is late (we had two late people for a combined 30 min) it made for too little time at the sights. Do the full day for a more relaxing view of the amazing locations. Our guide was super informative and funny. We learned a ton about Iceland.
This tour was so great and our tour guide, Iga, was very informative. She shared many educational facts along the entire tour and made us all feel very welcomed. I would definitely recommend!!
Tour driver, Orn, arrived 40 minutes late and it was an hour before we started. He cut the allotted time at each stop to make up for his delay and did not offer much tour information, only drove us to locations. Strongly encouraged Viator to stop using Orn from providing any future tours. I use Viator many times. Have complained to Viator and they have not addressed my disappointment in this tour!!
An amazing tour with a knowledgeable guide. We would highly recommend it.
Incredible tour! Nico was our guide and he was outstanding. Went to crater, geyser, falls, and the national park. It was a great day!
Tall was excellent and gave good exposure to the variety of Iceland. Our tour guide was exceptional – Mary personable, well informed and entertaining. And we got some decent exercise and what if we wanted to because there were a few times when we had walks that we could do for at least half an hour. All around exceptional visit.
Tour guide was great, all the stops were very unique. conveniently got picked us up right at our hotel. Landscape is amazing.
Our tour guide Arny was fantastic. She clearly explained everything and told us about Icelandic folklore too. The whole country is so picturesque! We are loving our time here. I wish we had more time here to see more.
A small group/sprinter bus - perfect size. Rebecca was a great guide. For me, this was the right amount of time at each stop…not too much but more than a photo stop.
Our driver guide, Suzhou, was friendly and helpful throughout the tour. We really appreciated the opportunity to view many Western Iceland geographic features in one afternoon. Although the tour was scheduled for noon - 6 PM, we arrived back at 7:20 - 7:30 PM. Just be advised, in case you have other evening arrangements to make.
Maria, our driver and guide, was quite simply outstanding! She was personable, knowledgeable and made sure everyone was comfortable. Her anecdotes were interesting and entertaining. The places we visited were always going to be interesting, but it was Maria that made the day an enjoyable one in spite of frequent heavy rain! Highly recommend!
This is a wonderful way to see a lot of what Iceland has to offer. We were amazed at how much we were able to see in this amount of time.
It was cold and rainy but Totally Worth it!! The national park, huge waterfall, geyser, and crater lake were all one of a kind. Sergio kept us informed and entertained with icelandic history, lore, and culture. Bring waterproof rain gear, and be prepared for mother nature at her finest!
Have lots of battery life on your phone or camera as you will take loads of photos. You will see many extraordinary sights.
The tour was a really nice sample of Iceland countryside sights. The small group size made for efficient loading and unloading so we had plenty of time at each stop. We really enjoyed our guide, Addis Greta, high energy, fun and interesting facts about what we were seeing as we went along. Nice start to our Iceland Adventures.
