The Golden Circle tour was excellent. However, front desk staff could not find my booking for Sky Lagoon. Had to wait for 20 minutes until the issue was sorted out. I would suggest to book the Golden Circle tour and Sky Lagoon visit separately.

Itinerary
Spend the day exploring some of Iceland’s most iconic sights and reward yourself with a soak in the magical geothermal waters of the brand new geothermal spa Sky Lagoon
We start the day with a trip to Þingvellir National Park, the birthplace of Iceland’s Viking-age parliament and a site of great geological wonder—Iceland’s only UNESCO World Heritage site on the mainland.
Gullfoss is one of Iceland’s most powerful and picturesque waterfalls. Watch as the glacier river Hvítá drops in two tiers down into a canyon, where the spray from the water often appears as rainbows. Additionally, there is a café by Gullfoss where you can grab a quick bite to eat or a cup of coffee after walking down to the viewing platform.
Geysir geothermal area, the home of Iceland’s most famous hot springs and other geothermal features, including Strokkur a geyser that erupts every 7 to 10 minutes.
Hot spring that erupts every few minutes
End your day with a rewarding and relaxing soak in Iceland's newest geothermal spa, Sky Lagoon. Located just outside of Reykjavik, this luxurious bathing lagoon includes magnificent panoramic views from the infinity pool. Also included is the Skjól wellness ritual that will leave you feeling refreshed and glowing.

This was a great tour. Elly was our guide and she was very knowledgeable about everything we saw as well as everything we drove past. She made it a lot of fun for us and we thought everything was well paced. The sights themselves really need no review, they're all amazing. There is quite a bit of walking involved and some stairs if you want to see everything.
Day was thoughtfully planned to see as much as possible and I loved that it ended at the spa and we could stay as long as we wanted and still have transportation back to where we were picked up at.
The whole tour was relaxed. Our tour guide was knowledgeable in all aspects with a great sense of humor. Ending at the Sky Lagoon was the best treat. The only missing information was the transfer to the Sky Lagoon. We weren’t sure of timing and transfer, but our guide made a phone call and we were then set !
The bus did not pick us up at the scheduled time. The reason given was that we had not given our pick up location. We were a group of 8 people and know that definitely we had entered this information when booking. When we called to say that we were not picked up we were then given a later pick up time. Once again we were not picked up. This time the reason was that we were not there even though our group of 8 were waiting 30 min before the time. We were then told that the bus was gone but if we went to the bus depot we might be able to get on. They sent a van to pick us up. When we arrived there and argued our case we were transported to meet up with the tour bus which was waiting (with a busfull of irate passengers). I honestly don't know if the problem was with Viator or the tour provider but it was definately communication problem. Once we finally got started, the tour itself was fantastic with scenes not be witnessed anywhere else. The tour guide was very knowledgeable providing us with information of Iceland. The Sky Lagoon is incredible with its infinity pool on the Arctic Ocean and cleansing ritual. An experience not to be missed.
Bus pickup from the hotel was easy. The bus was very comfortable, and the tour guide was friendly and knowledgeable. The attractions are extraordinary and well worth the 6-hour trip.
We had a great day trip from Reykjavik that ended in the Sky Lagoon. We had booked pick-up from our hotel / bus stop but we were never picked up, as a result we had to make our own way to the central bus station and missed our trip start. However, the staff there were so kind and helpful that we were able to join the next tour starting two hours later. We had a fantastic day and quickly forgot about the frustrations of the morning! Highly recommend!
The actual excursion itself was great. My issue was with my drop off. The bus driver kept arguing with me about my drop off location. He brought me to the wrong area and told me he couldn't park in front of my hotel even though I was picked up at my hotel in front of it, he said he couldn't go in front of it for some reason and had to drop me off two blocks and if I just walked up those two blocks I'd see my hotel. He kicked me off the bus sent me on my way only to find out he brought me to the wrong hotel and I was a 35-minute walk back. Gray lines were not answering their phones. I couldn't get a hold of anybody. I was just left out in the middle of nowhere on a cold, rainy windy day. Shame on you and shame on your drivers for not knowing where they're going and for not listening to your customers when they're telling you the area doesn't look familiar. Some trainings clearly needed. Hopefully this doesn't happen to anyone else
Very informative & courteous guide. It was a great introduction to Iceland—its geography, history, lifestyle, and lovely people.
Do not book this tour through Viator! The bus never showed up. We waited almost an hour in the cold and no bus. I called their “24/7” customer service number multiple times and no one answered, I let it ring for 5 minutes once. Unfortunately, it was our last day and we were not able to go on the Golden Circle tour. Super frustrating and disappointing!!
My family and I (four adults) recently took the Golden Circle and Sky Lagoon Geothermal Spa Tour from Reykjavik, and we thoroughly enjoyed the experience! While there was a lot of time spent on the bus and less time at each stop, the destinations were absolutely stunning. Our guide, Darren, was fantastic—knowledgeable and engaging—and our driver, Helgi, expertly navigated icy roads and near-blizzard conditions, making us feel safe throughout the journey. The highlight of the tour was undoubtedly the Sky Lagoon. I could have spent an entire day there! If you’re planning to visit, be sure to make reservations as they were fully booked when we went. Don’t miss "The Ritual," the spa's seven-step process—it’s a must-do! Another tip: try the lamb soup at the Gullfoss gift shop. It’s delicious and a perfect treat for a cold day.
Our Driver was Helgi and our "host" was Darren and they were both brilliant from start to finish. Helgi was an amazing driver and Darren was very funny, helpful, incredibly knowledgeable and informative. Darren went out of his way to find the answer to a question I'd had, when we were at the Geysir Centre, which was very much appreciated. He made the day so interesting and at the end was saying which other Gray Line Tours to take, what restaurants, bars and shops were well worth a visit etc. My partner and I very much enjoyed and appreciated Darren's input to the day and he and Helgi made it a most memorable experience.
Each of the trips are well worth taking but book them separately as the golden circle tour basically ends with a wasted 90 minutes of your time with various drop off points for different tours before the Sky Lagoon. So frustrating and it isn’t advertised as being multiple trips combined.
Absolutely amazing! The views were spectacular on route and at each destination. The commentary and humour from our tour guide was informative and added greatly to the experience. Hats off to our driver too who ensured we were kept safe on the Icelandic snowy roads. Would definitely recommend. 10/10
Horrendous organisation. Multiple changes of coaches so majority of the day is wasted. Do yourself a favour and book the trips independently with a smaller organisation
Our travel agent booked us with three tours, plus airport transfers, with Gray Line. The airport transfers were fine: large bus from airport to a bus depot, then transfer to a smaller bus to stops within Reykjavik. The day before our first tour, we got a call from our travel agent advising that the Sky Lagoon add on for our Golden Circle tour was overbooked; we were given the options of rescheduling, canceling, or doing the tour without the add-on, which is what we picked. Our documents showed pickup for all three tours would be at bus stop 6, but it turns out they were at bus stop 14 (only a few blocks away). We were not able to get anyone from Gray Line on the phone when we were not picked up for our first tour: one number only rang and rang, and the other went to a phone tree, where nobody picked up the phone. We ended up calling our travel agent, who booked us on the same tour later that day. (The tour itself was good, good tour guide, but large full bus... Pickup in the city was a smaller bus that took us to the bus depot to board the larger bus. I would book with a company that does smaller groups if I were to go again.) Anyway, we knew to go to stop 14 for our 2nd tour, and that tour was also good, good tour guide, but large, full bus. Our third tour was a whale watching tour booked through Gray Lines, but operated by Elding. No bus came to stop 14, and again we had trouble getting Gray Lines on the phone, so we ran to the harbor and found Elding, only to find that the trip had been canceled due to high wind, and Gray Line had not provided a way to get in touch with us to advise us. Elding also had trouble getting anyone from Gray Line on the phone. Our travel agent is still working to get us our refund for the lagoon (which we were sad to have missed out on); he says the refund for the whale watching (also sad to have missed, but weather cannot be helped) will occur this week. There are so many other tour operators, with smaller buses, in Iceland (we know, because we saw their buses come and go while we waited for ours); I would choose one of them.
Unfortunately, our trip was canceled without notice. We paid in full, showed up on time and that was it. Viator never contacted us to explain the tour was canceled. We’ve requested a refund and have waited patiently for a reply for 10 business days. No response. We paid around $600 for that tour. I would recommend you book with another agency.
Dreadful company who regularly don't collect passengers but keep the money, Their pickup times are unclear and drivers arrive at the stop, open the bus doors and if you're not there immediately, getting on within seconds. they just go. It happened to us and i saw it happen to 5 other bookings on one morning while on a bus. Shocking.
Karen is a great tour guide! We loved our day spent around the golden circle. I would highly recommend the trip. The Sky Lagoon was so relaxing and just what we needed! Just a note….the tour ends but the Sky Lagoon is only a few miles away from the pick up spots. The driver was great unfortunately I cannot recall his name as it was Icelandic and not familiar to an American.
Amazing sights to see. Must do! Bus was not good. Microphone was not working. There was very little to enthusiasm throughout the bus ride.
Sky lagoon was fantastic! Sadly the whole thing was shadowed by Viator not making the booking, meaning we had to pay twice. Viator took no responsibility and refused to give our money back…….book directly with sky lagoon don’t book via Viator.
We had a great time on this tour, however the paperwork received stated 7 hours for this, but did not realise this did not include Sky Lagoon, we were out for 12 hours in total, it was worth it but take plenty of supplies. We were taken on the tour by Darren and Helgi. Darren was very informative and entertaining throughout and we saw some great sights, he certainly knew his stuff. The Sky Lagoon was beautiful and relaxing, we had the 7 step ritual included in our package, but only found where to go for this by change and thought it probably wasn't worth the money as felt quite rushed through. Overall I would thoroughly recommend the tour and the lagoon, but think twice about doing the 7 step ritual.
It was absolutely amazing thank you so much Darren and Helgi! Enjoyed all the information you shared and great driving!
Darren and Helgi were both lovely, greeting us warmly every time we got on the bus. Darren had very good info, and was a great personality to have taking our tour
06/02/2024- Darren and Helgi were fantastic! Brilliant driving in sometimes difficult conditions from Helgi and Darren had so much knowledge and funny anecdotes about Iceland. The tour was interesting and entertaining throughout and we were so pleased we had Darren and Helgi as our guides. 100% recommend. Thank you Kelly & Elliot Somerset UK
They never picked us up from the bus stop where they were supposed to! Was there early by 15mins! No refund…then they allowed us to do the Sky Lagoon that was AMAZING! But interesting enough we again showed up early a they arrived early by 15mins a picked us up then!! Interesting…asked our hotel about them an they said they don’t refund from their mistakes!
Do not book. Grey line are incredibly poor at responding. The staff at the office are rude and have poor customer service. We missed the bus by 5 minutes due to their terrible response time. We were only able to do the tour because our hotel concierge stepped in to help. We also had to call the Sky Lagoon and rebook ourselves. The tour overall was overpriced, and would have been much more enjoyable as a small group experience. Pay for the small group.
The most memorable part of this excursion was not being told that non-lagoon users are not permitted to enter the lagoon to capture beautiful images. I wasted two hours in a waiting area for the bus to return to my hotel location. And, when it was time to catch the bus to leave, it was not clear where to wait. I had to ask several people for guidance and directions. It was neither a pleasant experience nor a good use of my time. I have been waiting patiently to hear from Reyes Serra Rodriguez at Grayline about my request for a partial reimbursement.
Picked up bang on time as per email. The tour bus was a new bus so good condition. The tour itself was great! The views were utterly breathtaking. And I must say the sky lagoon was a superb ending to the tour! Started 7:30am and finished 6:30pm so it’s a long day but well worth it. Plenty time at each stop for food, toilets, and pictures as well! Well worth the price as well.
This is a beautiful place to see! Sky Lagoon was a highlight for me! I would definitely recommend this tour and do it again!
Amazing experience. Highly recommend from being collected from the hotel through to drop off was absolutely perfect. Darren and Helgi were the most amazing guide and driver. Had the best day
This tour was just amazing, I would highly recommend, you get the chance to see so many cool and beautiful places and at the end of the day spending a few hours at the Sky Lagoon was just amazing!!!!
The lagoon was amazing gray line were appalling. We were given a 4.30 time to be back for the bus after the lagoon . We got there at 4.20 along with 8 other people . After waiting a while someone rang the company and was told bus been and gone classes as no show so basically tough .we where 3 different groups .but they absolutely refused to send another mini bus .. there were plenty of taxis available. Which did make me think this was not an isolated thing ...
We had a lovely day travelling round the golden circle, with the best tour guide mr G!! Very knowledgeable and made the experience. Wish we had a little longer at the national park, but the geyser and the waterfall were incredible! Only downside was we had to wait for a new bus to go to sky lagoon which took a long time to come, but the lagoon itself was an unforgettable experience - especially as we arrived to a beautiful sunset! A fantastic day :)
Darren and Helgi are the bees freaking knees. Great tour to get a bunch of cool sites in for a short time period.
Excellent personable guide and driver. Geeat stories. Loved the geysers and waterfall. Beautiful scenery. The sky Lagoon was wonderful. We relaxed and enjoyed the water, everyone around us was just happy to be there . Staff and guests were all smiling and helpful to newbies.
The tour itself was fine UNTIL the final stop at Sky Lagoon when Gray Line dropped off our bus full of 25+ people and never showed up to pick us up after the Sky Lagoon. Almost an hour after the scheduled pickup time (and after a half dozen phone calls to the tour operator) they finally sent a small van with seating for only a dozen passengers when more than 25 of us were waiting to get back to the ship. No explanations no apologies. It took almost two hours past the scheduled return time to get everyone back. Terrible organization and management creating stress that more than destroyed any peace and trqnauiliry from the Sky Lagoon experience.
Could have spent more time at the sky Lagoon. Convenient. Great bus driver and guide. It was beautiful day.
Viator was completely incompetent in their combination to the tour companIES for every trip we booked through them. Every trip had us being picked up at the wrong place or the wrong time. DO NOT USE VIATOR!!!
Darren was an awesome tour guide, made the trip that much better! He was very knowledgeable and we enjoyed listening to him! Norpert was a excellent bus driver. Together they made a great team.
The entire 12 hours trip was our favorite. The entire trip was truly amazing. My wife said it was one if tbe best days of her life. The driver was great. The guide Kat was fantastic. The sky lagoon was phenominal. If I could give a 6 I would. All the transfers between coaches worked seamlessly. Kat kept everyone updated as we split off into our individual sub trips. Brilliant all of it. Tips for future travellers. Prepare for a long day but theres lots of stops to get drinks and food.
Amazing experience in Iceland. Karen is the best and most knowledgeable tour guide ever. She shared so many interesting facts about the history of Iceland. Book this tour and ask for Karen. Gregor was also an amazing driver!
Amazing day, beautiful scenery we got really lucky with the weather! Tour guide Kristina and driver Gregor were awesome. Loved the geysir and the waterfall. We also got to stop and see some horses on the way back. Sky lagoon was definitely worth doing, the 7 step spa treatment was lovely, amazing view from the sauna and loved the salt scrub. Would recommend!
Amazing experience guides were excellent buses comfortable would definitely recommend sky lagoon was the perfect ending to a long day
I would recommend the tour but not the company. They left us ar the bus station, and then they blamed us. Then made us pay again to get home. I’ve complained and heard nothing.
We had a fantastic day exploring the golden circle with Herman (driver) and Emilia as our tour guide. Weather was mixed but as Emilia said - the weather changes every 5 mins in Iceland! We were given plenty of time to view and explore each feature at each stop, Emilia was very clear and good humoured on our tour as she explained the features, culture, history and Icelandic folk tales! The views from Thingvellir, geysers, waterfall were simply stunning - highly recommend!
Incredible day! Well worth every penny. Our tour guide was so funny and made the experience even better. The sky lagoon is a must visit! 3hrs of pure bliss.
The trip is great. Karen was a knowledgeable and entertaining guide. The weather was terrible, but she made the best of it. The sky lagoon is amazing. A highlight
Great trip with a knowledgeable and enthusiastic guide. Learnt a lot about Iceland whilst couldn't see much of the scenary before 10.30am in January after that saw the stunning scenary in all it's glory. The lamb soup / stew at Gullfoss is a great way to warm up after being out in the cold.
Tour guide was great. Buy yhe first of the 3 sites to view it was still too dark so we couldn't see anything
