It was a truly perfect day and one I'll never forget . From our incredible guide, to the small group, comfortable van, the amazing views, delicious food, it was everything I'd hoped it be and more. As someone with some mobility issues I really appreciate their flexibility around pacing. I'm also grateful that my son was able to be included along with us. (Thank you Bjarki) If you're going to do a Golden Circle tour - this is the one to book!

Itinerary
We will start at the UNESCO World Heritage Site, Þingvellir, where Althing was established around 930, but Thingvellir is where the two continents, Europe and America meet.
We also visit the geothermal active valley Haukadalur where among others, the hot spring geysers Geysir and Strokkur are located. Take a walk around the area and catch an eruption or two. Here you can gab a coffee or a light snack if you´re hungry and use the restroom facilities before we carry on.
The most iconic and beloved waterfall in Iceland with Hvítá river rushing down its staircase resembling on of the most powerful waterfalls in Europe. Gullfoss is picture perfect all in seasons.
From there we go for lunch at the famous Greenhouse Tomato farm, where you will be served lunch – included in your tour – choose between their world-famous tomato soup, ravioli pasta or grilled tortilla pizza as well as eat all you want of the best and most delicious homemade bread you might ever have. You can also buy some local deserts and drinks - not to mention the tastiest Bloody Mary’s. Chances are we might run into and pet the Icelandic horse on our way out.

This tour is amazing due to its design and the guide Gretar. It exceeded my expectations from start to finish. The guide was genuine and extremely knowledgeable about Iceland. A true ambassador. There were plenty of bathroom breaks and time to roam on your own. The lunch at the tomato farm was amazing along with learning about their operation and seeing some horses. This is a great way to get outside of Reykjavík for the day and see Iceland's beauty. Also Gretar speaks speaks many languages and is a world traveler so that helps with context when your asking questions on a global scale.
This experience exceeded my expectations! The guide(Gretar from Adventure Vikings)who I would give a 20/10 was amazing. He answered all questions, told what parts of each stop that were important and was just a great human. There were ample bathroom breaks and he took pictures for you to download. He was such a great ambassador for Iceland. I would take this tour again. Its especially great if it's your first trip to Iceland. You can do as little or as much walking around as you like. I walked 16,000 steps that day. The tomato farm stop was so special. I had never experienced a place that grows tomatos that way. The bread and tomato soup were to die for. I highly recommend this tour. I got my money's worth for sure.
Iceland was on our friends bucket list trip! The tour was perfect. Gretar was such a professional, knowledgeable and enjoyable tour guide. It was informative and not boring at all. He covered an array of subjects from culture to history to activities. The visit to the tomato restaurant was extra special and akin to a private tour. Thank you from 4 Jersey Girls 🍅🐴🌊🦢🌋⛪️
Great tour. Even better tour guide (Gretar). Highly recommend. Got to see the beautiful country outside of Reykjavík.
We had the best day snorkelling with Louis and then touring the Golden Circle with Gretar. Both Louis and Gretar were extremely knowledgeable and prepared to answer all of our questions! The final stop at the Tomato farm was the perfect way to end our trip! Gretar provided ample time to see all the sights and taught us all about the history of each stop. Wonderful day! 5 stars tour!
The weather was a little difficult at one of the stops. However, that did not stop us. The waterfall was tremendous! The lunch at the tomato farm was delicious!
An exceptional experience. Some spectacular sights. The unforgettable nature of the tour was, to a large extent, down to the outstanding quality of our guide, Gretar. His knowledge of all things Icelandic, including, for example, the geology, history, culture and political views and beliefs was impressive. He also took some great photos!
Grétar was our tour guide he did a great job talking with us about Icelandic history and answering many questions. Lunch at the tomato farm was absolutely delicious and would highly recommend this tour.
Gretar was absolutely amazing! He was very clear about the schedule (where we were going, how long it would take to get there, what we would do at each stop). He was incredibly knowledgeable about Iceland history - we were firing questions at him the whole day and he not only had answers but statistics for almost everything. He also took photos of us and the scenery the whole day, so we could truly just take everything in and enjoy. Would highly recommend. Truly a white glove experience.
My husband and I were the only 2 on the tour, so of course that was a huge bonus, but even if we'd been in a small group my review would be the same. Gretar, who's been a guide for 15 years, shared so much history with us, answered every question and went above and beyond to make sure our Golden Circle and lunch at the Tomoato Greenhouse was a perfect first day in Iceland. HIGHLY RECOMMEND this tour, which is an incredible value for the price paid, to anyone with a day to spend seeing some of the most beautiful areas in the country.

This tour was amazing. I had read reviews raving about Gretar, and he was as good as they said. He picked us up timely and gave us all a clear description of the day’s itinerary including where we were going and how long it would take to get there and how long we would spend at each site. He was very patient answering everyone’s questions. He knows so much about the land and the history of Iceland and I learned an incredible amount of interesting and useful information. I can’t imagine going to those sites without having a guide like Gretar to help you fully understand what you are looking at and the context and history. He gave people recommendations for other activities and meals. A very cool feature is that he takes photos of everyone throughout the day and then uploads them at the end of the day for free. He is an excellent guide, and the trip was incredible. My favorite was Gullfoss Falls but I loved everything, and the tomato soup and unlimited bread at the end was perfect. I would definitely recommend this tour.
Gretar was the perfect guide for our mother-daughter tour of the Golden Circle. We were able to see all of the highlights: including the ridge between the two plates an active geyser, and stunning waterfalls. Lunch at the Tomato Farm was beautiful and warm and delicious. The bread and butter sprinkled with tomato salt is not to be missed. Overall, the day was relaxed and had the perfect low-key vibe (which was perfect for us). Mission accomplished on an amazing trip to Iceland. Thanks, Gretar!
This was an awesome tour, and Gretar was a great guide. Highly recommend.
A great day with a great guide. Gretar was knowledgeable and guided us through the day without rushing us. He is a lover of the land and excited to share his country.
This was a great experience! Gretar was a fantastic guide that gave us a wonderful experience. Gretar is very kind and taught us a lot about each place (while also capturing some great photos). I feel like we had plenty of time at each stop and LOVED eating at the tomato farm. Being surrounded by warm lights and greenery really warms the bones up after a fun day of exploring the golden circle! I highly recommend!
A great introduction to Iceland. Saw Some incredible sights. Guide was very knowledgeable. Great first day.
Gretar was AMAZING!! The tour itself is quite unbelievable, but having someone as knowledgeable as him made it all even better. Would 10/10 recommend doing Golden Circle + Fridheimar. Would 10000000/10 recommend doing it with Gretar as your tour guide.
Gretar was an amazing tour guide. Extremely knowledgeable, super kind and all around a great travel companion. The stops were beautiful, lunch was delicious, and we had a great time. Thank you, Gretar!
Gretar was an absolutely amazing tour guide! We saw so much of Iceland in 7 hours and lunch at the tomato farm. Gretar was very knowledgeable and personable. I highly recommend this tour and Gretar as your tour guide.
I’m so happy that I booked this tour - the tour guide was extremely knowledgeable (we learnt so much about Iceland!), adjusted the pace to suit (and drove very safely in what were some treacherous conditions!) & captured memories to last a lifetime (even when we weren’t looking; candids are the best!). 11/10 would recommend.
Grettr was very knowledgeable about the various areas and history of every turn , he worked hard to get the most out of our tour, you could tell he has deep love for his country and enjoys sharing it with others
From the moment Gretar picked us up our wonderful journey started. He was most welcoming and extremely knowledgeable. He let us explore when we could at our own pace yet always took great care of the group. It was a most memorable day trip and if you ever want a great guide “Gretar” is the guy to go with. Thank you once again it will be one of the highlights of our honeymoon
Gretar is a wonderful tour guide! He’s super knowledgeable on all things Iceland. I highly recommend booking him for your next Iceland adventure!
Fantastic Tour! We had a wonderful time exploring the national park, geyser, waterfalls and lunch at the Tomato Farm. Grétar is an amazing tour guide! Highly recommended!
Great trip with Gretan as our guide Everything was very well organized .. We never felt rushed or overwhelmed, had enough time to explore at each location Transportation was smooth and small group size made it easy to enjoy and ask questions Overall, we had a great time
Our golden circle tour was absolutely unforgettable. From the moment we were picked up , everything was smooth, comfortable and tailored to us. Our guide Gretan was friendly, knowledgeable and full of stories about Icelands history, landscapes and culture. We never felt rushed, there was plenty of time to enjoy each side.. Also, Gretan took some beautiful pictures of us along the way, which was pretty awesome I highly recommend this tour to anyone who wants relaxed, comfortable and magical Golden circle experience.
Fantastic experience with a wonderful guide. Would highly recommend and particularly enjoyed the small group size and personalized conversation.
This was an incredible experience. The views were amazing. Grétar was extremely knowledgeable about the history of our stops and the surrounding areas as we drove. He was not only a great guide, but very personable and fun to be around. Anyone who has gone on a guided tour knows a guide can make or break the trip. Grétar is definitely in the elite category. We had an incredible time and will be recommending this to anyone who visits.
We had a wonderful time! The scenery was amazing and our guide Gretar was very informative and interesting. We would highly recommend this tour.
This was by far my favorite excursion on my 2 week northern European vacation. Grétar was such a wonderful tour guide, he shared a lot of great info with us, took photos, and allowed us time to take in all the beauty at each location we visited. I was a bit bummed my mom missed this last excursion of our trip due to not feeling well, but I learned so much from Grétar, that I was able to take her on a condensed version the next day while we had a rental car. I also had the pleasure of meeting another nice mother/daughter traveling together, they were great to share this experience with. I 10 out 10 recommend Grétar with Adventure Vikings and hope to return in the future to do another tour with them. It was nice being with a small group after being stuffed in coaches with 40+ people on all other tours, it really allowed us a much more enjoyable experience with time to explore.

This was an amazing day! We had a great morning at the Silfra fissure, visited amazing waterfalls and Geysers. Silfra snorkeling is magical. The water is so very clear. We felt very safe while snorkeling. They are very professional and really know what they are doing. It really wasn't too cold. We had on so many layers. The geyser and waterfalls were gorgeous. Then we topped it off with an amazing lunch at the Friðheimar Tomato Farm. It was delicious! They showed us how it all works and it was quite an operation. Very modern and tech savvy. There were also a few Icelandic Horses there and we got a few pics of them as well. The guides were wonderful. And they took photos of us and then shared them for free. It was so great to not have to worry about photographing things and just enjoy the experience. I recommend them 1000%
