Wow! I’m not sure where to start! This was a fantastic tour from start to finish - massively enhanced by our driver/guide, Franklin. Each of the stops was amazing and we had ample time at each of them without feeling rushed. Franklin was an excellent guide - demonstrating superb knowledge, answering all of our questions with expertise and humour! Definitely highly recommended and superb value for money.

Itinerary
We'll kick off the day with a morning pick-up from your selected location in the capital city Reykjavík
A 40-minute drive takes us to Þingvellir (Thingvellir) National Park, home to Iceland’s first parliament, Althingi. Set in a dramatic rift valley between the Eurasian and North American tectonic plates, the park blends striking natural beauty with rich history, making it one of Iceland’s most breathtaking destinations.
Our adventure will then lead us to the breathtaking Gullfoss, aptly named the "golden waterfall," situated at the very edge of the Icelandic Highlands. Cascading gracefully within the canyon of the Hvíta River, Gullfoss is fed by the Langjökull glacier to the north, lending it a majestic aura. As a two-tiered waterfall, Gullfoss seems to vanish into the depths below, with its waters plunging an impressive 32 meters. The waterfall offers a mesmerizing display of nature's power, showcasing the raw forces of Icelandic landscapes. Regardless of the season, Gullfoss captivates with its awe-inspiring beauty, making it a must-see destination on our journey through Iceland's natural wonders.
Next on our itinerary is the Geysir Geothermal Area, which is famous for being home to Iceland's most well-known geysers. This area is actually the namesake of all geysers! Here, you’ll stroll among bubbling water pools, clear geothermal springs, and steam vents. The most active geyser, Strokkur, erupts every 4 to 10 minutes, giving you many chances to see boiling water shoot up between 49 and 65.6 feet (15 to 20 meters) into the air.
Next up is the Secret Lagoon, Iceland’s oldest geothermal pool. Set in moss-covered lava fields, the water stays a warm 100–104°F (38–40°C) year-round, with a small geyser adding to the experience. Swimming here is the perfect relaxing finale to your adventure—bring your swim gear or rent it on-site.
Our final stop is Kerið Crater, or “The Eye of the World,” a volcanic crater formed over 6,500 years ago. Its bright blue-green lake set against red volcanic rock makes it a must-see. The crater is 886 feet (270 m) wide with walls up to 180 feet (55 m) high, offering stunning views from the rim and a scenic 20-minute hike around the lake. Seasonal changes—from green moss in summer to snow and ice in winter—make it magical year-round.
We'll then head back to Reykjavík where you'll be dropped of from your starting location.

Great experience with a terrific guide. Highly recommend.
Great way to see many great Icelandic sites in one day. Learn local history while experiencing all nature has to offer.
I will never use viator again!! I booked 3 tours and non of them were as they said but the last one was the worst. I WAS NEVER PICKED UP!!! THE BUS DRIVER TOLD VIATOR HE JUST DIDNT FEEL LIKE GOING TO THE STOP! So after waiting for 40 min ( I arrived at the requested 30 min early). I called to be told so sorry. We will refund your money. So now I get to sit in a 10x8 room all day with nothing to do on my final day in Reykjavik. The bus driver refused to turn around even though it was only 9:14 when they called him. NOONE WAS ABLE TO DO ANYTHING BUT KEPT SAYING SO SORRY!! NEVER HAVE I BEEN SO UNHAPPY WITH A COMPANY AND THEIR LACK OF ANY CUSTOMER SERVICE
Örn was an excellent tour guide. It was very knowledgeable and friendly, I don’t believe you get a choice on who your guide is but if you have one, I would pick him every day of the week!
Great trip in a van of 19 people. Tomas the host was entertaining, funny, loved telling stories, which were sometimes hard to hear and understand. But his delivery was good enough and he had a great laugh. He was kind, caring and committed to giving us a good experience. I enjoyed being able to get out and walk and explore on our own and the Secret Lagoon and a visit with Icelandic horses at the end was a nice bonus. Perfect day trip without the stress of driving on your own. I would recommend this trip.
The weather was very rainy but the sights were wonderful. The guide was informative and engaging. I loved the secret lagoon - the weather had no effect on the experience.
We enjoyed the stops and had plenty of time to explore Our driver/guide was excellent which enhanced the experience.
We are academics (landscape architecture) here in Iceland to study hot springs /spas and their design, relationship to nature, and to learn about Iceland’s culture and landscape. This tour was a pretty good overview.
We saw all of the stops advertised and they were all quite memorable! Our driver was great and gave us some good information about our stops along the way.
This is a great tour. The Golden Circle is really a must do for anyone visiting Iceland and the secret lagoon is a great addition. The waterfalls, geyser and crater are breathtaking. The secret lagoon I prefer to the blue lagoon because it’s more authentic and much older. It is the oldest “swimming pool” in Iceland. It is a full day tour, but you don’t feel rushed. And the secret lagoon shortly after lunch makes for a great mid day relaxation.
There was so much to see on this tour and our driver Maria was just awesome! The beauty of the waterfalls , the geysers, the crater lake and the relaxing time spent in the secret lagoon. It was all wonderful and well worth it. Thanks again to the team & Maria who waited for us at the cruise ship terminal at the start due to our ship & custom delays.
Very informative and worth every cent. There’s so much to see we loved it! Unfortunately only in Reykjavík for 3 days,
Our guide (Alex) was very informative and the itinerary was just as described. Really enjoyed the national park, Gullfoss and the Secret Lagoon. One of our best tours in Iceland.
We had a wonderful day. Our tourguide did a great job and made it a day to remember. Great insides and she answered all of my questions.
Great way to see a nice variety of Iceland all in one day. Tour is fast paced, that's how you get to see so much. Tour guide Monica was very sweet and kind. She shared lots of knowledge on Iceland. She also put a capybara plush in the bus window so it was super easy to identify in the crowd! Oh and definitely bring your own towel from the hotel, secret lagoon charged about $10 dollars to rent a towel.
Beautiful scenery and the Secret Lagoon experience was definitely worth it. Seats are tight in legroom but we managed and still enjoyed the tour.
We had beautiful weather for a great day visiting so many sites along the Golden Circle. Our guide/driver, Andre, was interesting and informative. We were given sufficient time to enjoy every stop and we especially appreciated the pick up/drop off service at our hotel. The Secret Lagoon was uncrowded and just wonderful for relaxing after so much walking at the other sites. You can rent a towel there if you can’t bring one. Order an adult beverage at the bar and sip while soaking in the warmth. Seeing the Langjökull Glacier so clearly as we drove along was a delightful surprise. Godafoss did not disappoint. Highly recommend this tour!!
This was a very nice tour, easily paced and Bruno was a friendly and knowledgeable tour guide. Highly recommend this tour!
We took a number of tours while in Iceland and this was by far, our least favorite. The guide did not seem interested in sharing information about our stops, which were all amazing, and just seemed to be going through the motions. Additionally, it was disappointing when another bus broke down and he gave our van to another group to use with all of our personal belongings inside. We wandered around the parking lot looking for our guide in the pouring rain for 15 minutes and then had to wait an additional 15 minutes for the van to return. When it arrived, our belongings were all over the place, including on the floor, which was all wet from the rain. I highly recommend the golden circle tour, but find a different company!
The places we went were great. Per our drivers instructions, we left our personal belongings on the bus. When we were at one of the longer stops, the driver allowed another tour group to take our bus. The driver took the bus with other tourists with all of our belongings. The driver was 20 minutes late back to the bus and we were stuck standing in the rain.
The tour was interesting and we saw amazing sites. It was, however, very difficult to LOCATE our tour van at the start of our journey. We went to the area marked "prebooked tours" as directed on the email, but there were 500 other people all looking for tours. There was no delineation for various companies and no description of what type of vehicle we should locate. I was expected the van or bus to read "New Day Tours" but it was an "Arctic Adventure" tour bus. We wandered around asking buses and vans if they were our tour. Finally, we heard our name called by a driver walking around trying to collect his people. Not a great start. Utter chaos and poor signage. Tour sites were SUPER crowded with little explanation other than a few predrop-off bits by our driver. Finally, while we were at one of the stops, our driver loaned our van to another group whose van had a mechanical issue. This was very upsetting as our group had left much of our belongings in the bus...including cameras, watches, ipad, wallets, etc. We were told to take what we needed but that the bus would be locked up. This required us to stand waiting in the rain for the return of our bus, and it delayed our next visit. Thankfully none of us lost any belonging, though bags were stuffed here and there at random and dropped on the wet floor, and it took some time for folks to find their items and pass them around to proper owners. I understand that our driver was only trying to be kind. It just felt very unsettling to know our bags had gone off with strangers and were not being cared for.
I would recommend this tour but with a different company besides artic adventure. We returned to the van after the golden circle at the designated time. There were 12 in our group. The van was no where to be found. We asked another driver with the same company for help. He told us we were wrong and the van is always in the same spot. After 15 min of searching the lot we finally found the driver. We learned he loaned our van to another driver who had a flat tire, we were never informed of this and we were told upon stopping that we could leave our belongings on the bus as it would be locked and secure. While luckily nothing was taken , we felt the situation was handled in appropriately, They should have a better system in place in case there are van issues. I sent a message to the provider and I got no response.
Be patient. Some sites are INCREDIBLY crowded. Long lines at bathrooms, no seats, etc. That said, the scenery is amazing. Our guide, Erla, was excellent!
It was great but we definitely needed more time at the Secret Lagoon. Because of the showering requirement before and after, our time in the water is severely limited.
Andre was fantastic! He was fun , very entertaining and knowledgeable. It was a great day even though the weather was rainy.
Maria was an amazing guide/driver! She was full of Icelandic tips and stories which kept us engaged for the 10 or so hours. The sites were incredible and the time spent at each was about right. And we stopped for ice cream too 😊! We would definitely book a tour with Maria again!
9:00 am pick-up from the cruise ship port. Took us to five different spots. The first three spots were very crowded (tectonic plates national park, the geysers and the golden waterfall). However, there is a HUGE selection of food for purchase at the geyser cafe. Soup, salad, sandwich, full bakery, ice cream, etc. so if you are worried about bringing food like we were, you can plan to purchase everything you could need! After that we headed to the pool for 90 minutes (bring swim suit and towel) and finally, stopped at a volcano. The pools also had hot dogs, yogurts, sandwiches for purchase. Palli was a kind and friendly guide and the trip is highly recommended.
Great fun. Thoroughly enjoyed. Good pacing, Edgar the guide is great. Enjoyed The sights. Be sure to dress for cold eind and rain. Full rain gear incl boots recommended
We had a great guide- Fetha who was very informative. We visited several sites. It was very busy at a lot of these sites but still enjoyable. We enjoyed bathing at the secret lagoon There was some confusion over start time as we had received an e mail changing it from 9am to 8 am so we went out for this time but weren’t picked up until 9am. This was at the cruise port
What a beautiful introduction to a beautiful country! I took this tour on my first full day in Iceland. The views you get are just absolutely breathtaking. The visit to secret lagoon was a welcome mid-day break from exploring. Our guide, Dominica, was absolutely fantastic -- she was knowledgeable and incredibly friendly.
Isa was a great guide! There was a mixup with meeting place. Your company gave guide a different address than us, so he was at a hotel calling our name and we were at the cruise terminal. So happy tour company called us to get our pickup corrected. Guide showed up a little late but all was good and a wonderful tour! Thank you, Isa (probably spelled name wrong)
Our guide was terrific and the fact that there were only ten passengers in the bus meant we all had good views and lots of time to ask questions of our guide. Each stop was interesting and I felt we had just the right amount of time at each one.
Absolutely incredible! Our guide was amazing. Super knowledgeable and very helpful. The bus was comfortable and clean. We were lucky and had a small group so we were able to stop at a few “extra” places. Great way to hit the highlights if you’re having a short stay. Hiking shoes and layers worked great, with maybe a light rain jacket or rain resistant jacket. Bringing lunch/snacks was easy- stop at a Netto to pick up stuff (moderately easy, just be flexible!) Every stop was worth it!!
Our guide/ bus driver was amazing! He was very informative and personable. Enjoyed visiting with him about Iceland and its history. Would recommend this tour to anyone. Thank you!
It was a pretty good day trip overall. My family and I had a good time . Weather was nice , not too cold . It was a little cold and windy near the waterfalls , but other than that was good. Our tour guide was very friendly too.
An excellent day trip to some classic spectacular sites in Iceland. Although busy spending some time relaxing at the Secret Lagoon was a bonus. Our guide Edgar was really friendly and so willing to share his knowledge about Iceland. We were also very lucky with the weather which was another bonus to our trip.
I'm so glad I chose this trip with the Secret Lagoon. It was the highlight of my day! I really understand why Icelanders make this part of their day-to-day. Sigh! Gulfoss was another highlight, and our tour Andres was funny and accommodating. But take note, the time you have at each stop passes almost too quickly! All the more reason to visit again.
Lots of activities , not to much walking just make sure you are back at the bus at the correct time.
Siggi was a great guide, full of stories about history and legends and, of course, the places we visited. It was crowded at all of the stops but we had a good od amount of time at each stop, including the Secret Lagoon. The tour was well worth it!
What a great day! Thank you Yvonna for being such an awesome guide and driver.
Amazing and informative guide, nice size group, some fun extra stops.
1st time to Iceland. This tour gave me all the hi lights with ample time at each stop. Definitely try the lamp soup available at the Geysir. Delicious! Enjoyed the relaxing soaking time at the Secret Lagoon.
We had a great day on the minibus with tour guide Matej and some new friends! Several years ago my husband and I drove the Golden Circle and when back recently with my mom and sister, we decided it would be nice to be escorted around during our short stay. Everything went very smoothly, Matej had lots of stories and chuckles for us. I found the Secret Lagoon to be quite pleasant for a soak - much more understated than the Blue Lagoon, and a nice finale. Grab a rhubarb soda (my favorite!) or something stronger, and relax. Then, like Matej said, enjoy a snooze on the way back to Reykjavik for dinner.
This was an incredible day. Our favorite of our week in Iceland. The sights were amazing, sun was shining, and most of all our small group tour with fantastic Franklin.
The tour guide was great which is why I still gave the tour 3 stars. I found the tour itself underwhelming. The bus was also very dirty. If you’re under the age of 40. I would recommend renting a car and doing the golden circle yourself. The cost of the tour wasn’t worth the price.
Alex was a very friendly and knowledgeable guide. We enjoyed the whole day, particularly the Secret Lagoon which was fab. Alex recommended the restaurant at the geyser site and we had the best tomato soup of the whole holiday! Really pleased we went on a small group tour. Cheers Alex.
Had a great day, kind and patient tour guide. The destinations were interesting and diverse. We left an item on the bus accidentally and the company were able to get hold of the tour guide who returned it to us, which was hugely appreciated. Would definitely recommend the tour.
Thor was guide . He was good. Sites were amazing. Bus is horrible. Overcrowded. We have the back seats sharing with two other adults on the tour. Those seats are NOT meant for 4 people. I was sitting in a half seat. Tour needs to book with 18 instead of 19 and it would have got a higher rating. Maybe if you are picked up first and sitting in A proper seat the tour is 5 star but I booked base on the reviews and was grossly misinformed.
Well organised tour with experienced guide who gave us lots of information about the places we visited as well as practical information such as meeting places and times, food options and toilet facilities. The places we visited were varied and we were given enough time at each stop to see everything. Highlights for us were the Gullfoss falls and Geysir with the secret lagoon providing a wonderful relaxing break in the afternoon.
