Glacier Snowmobiling From Reykjavik

INCREDIBLE!! What an experience, this was easy my favourite of our trip. Bjorn was super cool and really knowledgable. Exhilarating fun, and once in a life time experience. If you are in Iceland this has to be top of your list!!

It was an amazing experience. Bessi was an incredible guide, he added so many informations about iceland culture and life and the glacier. The snowmobile itself is incredibly fun, the glacier is magnificent, whatever weather you can find, but he really made the experience complete.

Super cool and Amazing!!! Never leave Iceland without doing this tour. First time to ride the snow mobile and our instructor/guide explained everything that we needed to know to make it fun and safe for all of us.

I took a snowmobiling tour with Arctic Adventures on Langjökull Glacier and had an experience I will never forget—not just because of the tour itself, but because of the extraordinary care their team showed afterward. During the tour, we had to put on large, insulated suits over our clothes to protect us from the frigid conditions. While removing all the layers at the end of the tour, my gold bangle slipped off. I didn’t realize it was missing until we were back at the initial meeting point and the Arctic Adventures team had left. I called Arctic Adventures, sent them a photo, and their team immediately acted on my concern. They contacted their glacier office, searched for it, and 3 days later emailed me with the news that they had found it. Their care, honesty, and diligence were truly extraordinary and went beyond what I ever expected. I am eternally grateful, and feel that this kindness reflects the wonderful spirit of the Icelandic people. Thank you, Arctic Adventures, for going above and beyond for me.

Snowmobiling on its own was absolutely fantastic, breathtaking, our driver was nice and funny, but I also felt really really safe. The sleds are new, great quality, very sturdy and comfortable to drive just be prepared for your hand to cramp a tiny bit holding on the throttle. We were originally booked for just the snowmobiling Pease and we gotta upgrade to this plus the golden circle, and it was so well worth it that I highly suggest people do that one instead because we got to see the geyser, Goldfoss, the national Park where the continents are separating, and the crater hole lake. it was a fantastic way to cram a lot into one day.

Pick up from cruise port was confusing. Super jeep was cool. Drive to glacier was long but guide was informative and views were enjoyable.

Travelled to glacier and took part in 1 hour snowmobiling. Travelled on monster truck after being transferred from original pick up bus.

Good day out on the glacier- make sure you get kitted out with the correct size clothes & helmet. Everything was laid out & easy to do.

It's a long day from Reykjavik. 2-2.5hrs drive each way but in a monster truck. Our driver stopped at Geysir to see the hot springs and/or have lunch. We got well and truly suited up by the company. Great instructions from the guides (3 of them escorted us), about 30 of us going in single file. Most were 2 to a mobile and we were able to swap drivers half way through. It was very icy and wet (July) with some snow at our highest point. Sadly the visibility was poor but that's Mother Nature, not the company. I defy you not to enjoy it!!!! Great experience.

Be prepared for a rush. Also it would be great to video (actual video not photo) during some of the ride. Like a bodycam or dashcam.

A great day out. Our driver/guide Thomas, was relaxed, knowledgeable, helpful and friendly. It was a full day, but well worth it. The snowmobiling was a lot of fun, not something we would ever get to do where we live. The scenery is rugged barren and inspiring. Thomas gave us a lot of time at each location, clear instructions on how to get the most out of our visit, and had a lot of interesting information about each site and Iceland in general.

This was a AMAZING EXPERIENCE!!! From the second Isabel picked us up, we were treated so well. Isabel was very accommodating and let us know right away of the adventure we were about to have. She did an AMAZING JOB!!! EVERYONE involved were wonderful to us. Egill, the driver did a great job getting us safely to our destination!!! From the guy that helped us get our gear, to the instructor that showed us how to work the snowmobile…. I cannot find enough kind words to describe how we were treated by everyone involved. The warm coffee and hot chocolate were a sweet treat after such a great ride!!! This was an adventure of a lifetime. THANK YOU !!!! I will never how much fun I had today!!!!

Had a great day with Björn and all of the crew from Arctic Adventures. We had no idea how beautiful the glacier would be and have to say the ride to the glacier was pretty amazing in itself. Highly recommend and will definitely do it again my next time to Iceland.

Had an exhilarating day on the glacier going up with a group of fun people. with our guilds who took us to the most amazing part of the glacier, we spent lots of time through the snow. Our group was very enthusiastic, which made our guides even more enthusiastic. BRAVO to Bjorn and James who made this one of the best experiences of my life. WHAT A DAY TO REMEMBER Iceland.

Amazing experience! Loved every moment. A great way to see the mountains. Our guide was great and told us loads about the history of Iceland and he was also happy to answer any questions!

Wonderful experience! Be prepared for a bumpy ride to get to the cabins on the glacier but the snowmobile ride itself was 100/10! A must do experience while in Iceland. Thomas, our driver during this experience was informative, funny and safe! I would love to go on this adventure on his bus again.

The experience was great!! Snowmobiling is fun and cool. We were lucky enough to catch a sunny day, with no wind and clear view!!! What a blessing. Our driver and snowmobile guide Tomas was sweet and careful. Árni whom we met at the glacier was very kind and fun. The rest of the team were also easy going and friendly. The amount of participants seemed normal. Nothing overwhelming. It does take some time to reach the glacier as well as to get back to the city but it’s totally worth it! One memorable experience from Iceland. Thank you😊

It was a great experience and I highly recommend it for anyone travelling to Iceland. Thomas was our your guide, and he was very nice, knowledgable, funny, and an overall great person to be around. They pick you up in this super Jeep van, and its about 2.5 hours from the city. They make a stop midway to use the bathroom, get snacks/lunch. The actual snowmobiling was great, easy to manage, and gives great views of natural landscape.

What an amazing day. Our guide, Thomas was really friendly, knowledgeable and an all round guy. We were collected at our hotel in his mercedes overlander on time. Very clean and presentable. Tour was with my family. (2+2). We all piloted the snowmobiles for a period of time. We tumbled twice in total, instructors were calm and if I am honest, laughed with us at our failing. It's all part of the day. If your pondering over this. DO IT! You won't be disappointed. Bring some snacks and a drink!

Great tour. Thomas our guide was lovely. The guides from the snowmobiling were also nice. Our snowmobile tipped over but the guides were there quick to help and check that we were ok. My family loved it as well. Gave us all the clothing and equipment that we needed, picked us up and dropped us off at our hotel. Brilliant day! Bring food and drink.

Thomas was a lovely driver and tour guide as was our snowmobiling instructor. They were very knowledgeable and let everyone go at their own pace with no pressure. Honestly, such an amazing day and definitely a once in a lifetime opportunity.

Amazing experience with Thomas from start to finish. He was a safe driver and also shared a lot of great information about the glacier + snowmobiles ahead of the experience. Maybe it would be beneficial, if the snowmobile tour brought photos for the adventure. Something to think about in future. Our tour guide Isabella, was great and good laugh.

Arctic Adventure is an awesome company and really did their due diligence is gathering their flock (we had phone issues and didn’t realize was unreachable and got a bit lost to the pickup point) but we made it despite being a bit late. Our tour guide Bjorn was fantastic, he answered all my various questions about the country and provided some local tips. The ride to the glacier was fun and you get to see part of the country in a comfy souped up vehicle. The snowmobile tour on a freaking glacier was insanely fun and I was just the passenger. My partner loved driving it and it felt too short when we were done. Totally worth doing this tour!

A fantastic experience. Thomas was an excellent chauffeur and guide during the snowmobiling trip. The trip across the glacier was beautiful; majestic mountain slopes, pristine snow, and the hour long ride is just long enough to enjoy yourself before the cold really sets in. They allow the snowmobiles to run fast enough for the pace to seem quite quick—unlike other riding tours I’ve been on. In summation, it was scenic, thrilling and fun.

What a thrilling ride with an unbelievable backdrop! Thomas was awesome, great guide both funny, knowledgeable and took his time trailing behind the slow riders! Highly recommend!

Snowmobiling on a glacier - great fun! A good safety briefing and plenty of support from guides whilst on the glacier made for a good fun time. although the small group of 15 we had joined was merged with another similar group on arrival at the base camp this was all part of the adventure and did not impact on the general feeling. The ride out up the glacier was interesting, getting used to the snowmobile, followed by a break at the most distant point to take photos and play in the snow, which was amazing! The transport was also amazing - a jacked up 4-wheel drive Mercedes Sprinter minibus with mahoosive wheels and tyres, which was brilliant in the snow on the glacier. Unfortunately there were a few things that spoilt the day. The one that the tour operator had no control over was the weather - there was low cloud and heavy snow for the whole journey on the glacier meaning the promised stunning scenery was not visible. This was one of the risks you take with this type of activity, so no big deal, just something to be aware of when you book. More concerning was the lack of input from the tour operator. There was no contact from the tour operator before the activity, the only information coming from Viator. The "guide" with the minibus did very little actual guiding. We were welcomed aboard, pointed in the direction of the toilets and snacks at the very expensive comfort stop at Geysir and given instructions on what gear was needed when we were getting our safety gear prior to getting on the glacier. Given a 2.5 hour drive each way from Reykjavik to the site, I would have expected some more input, such as information about the areas we were driving through, glaciers, what they were, how they develop and are shrinking etc. There was none of this, which was very disappointing. To be fair to the guide, his driving skills were fantastic, particularly on the drive back in extremely testing conditions, battling strong winds and heavy snow, which had blown a couple of other tour buses off the road. He did get us back safely to our hotel. In summary - a good fun experience, but missing some of the things I thought/expected we were going to get for the money

I had a great days adventure snowmobiling on a glacier. The guide was Thomas who was very knowledgeable and friendly and proved to be very helpful when I struggled getting to grips with the snowmobile. It was a 10 hour round trip on and off the glacier with about an hour's actual riding. After a tentative start I really got the hang of it and by the end I was racing over the snow like an expert, almost. All in all, a fantastic day!

Had such a blast! Thomas was a great guide from navigating wintry roads and heavy snow up to the glacier to the snowmobiling experience itself. He kept us informed along the way of slight changes in the timing of our itinerary. Would 100% recommend.

We have never snowmobiled before So it was a great experience! I was too cautious with speed which nade stearing more diffucult The ice cave was remarkable and the glacier scenery was spectacular. We were incrsubky lucky with the sunny weather

Wonderful, exhilarating, magnificent! I don't have enough words to describe the emotions I had whilst snowmobiling and admiring the snow-covered scenery around me. The white of the snow met with the white of the clouds on the horizon! The softness the of the snow, the crispness of the air! Just incredible!
