Juliana was an outstanding tour guide and made sure we understood how everything was going to progress throughout the day. My family enjoyed every minute of the tour and would definitely use this company again.

Juliana was our tour guide and she was amazing.
Best tour /experience we’ve ever been on. The driver went out of his way to pick us up; the transportation was fantastic (Mercedes Sprinter). Trip was a 11 hour expedition but went so quick, as we had the time of lives. Waterfalls, black sand beach & glacier hiking! Very sad to leave the beautiful countryside country of Iceland…
Great experience! The views are incredible and a small group gives you an immersed experience. Highly recommend!
I booked a glacier hike for my two adult sons direct with Troll. Having not received a confirmation email I emailed to check if the booking had been received correctly. They said that the payment hadn't come through so I needed to book again. I asked them to confirm that if the payment came through for the first booking, would they refund it. They said they would. The payment for both bookings were taken and 3 weeks later I am still waiting for the refund. They keep replying when I chase them to say it's with the "accounts" department. This is simply not acceptable. I have to say that the customer service beforehand was very helpful, the meeting point worked well, the guide was good and my son's had a fantastic time. The experience has been marred by being charged twice and not being refunded as promised.
Great experience! Will definitely recommend. Can’t wait to go back and use this company again. Love Iceland
We did two tours with Troll toys on our short stay in Iceland and if I could give 6 stars I would. We were a group of 7. We did the Golden Circle and the South Coast and Hike the Glacier Tour. Both were very well organized and ran very smoothly. Our drivers Daniel and Cora were amazing at telling us about the history, geology and nature of this fantastic island. I booked based upon the reviews I had read before coming. We had a late addition, my daughter joined our trip a week out and Troll managed her inclusion without fuss or drama. Our first tour was in beautiful weather and the second in the wind and rain, this did not matter. The Glacier hike in the rain was well managed, safe and a great experience. Thank you Troll Tours. Highly recommend by everyone in our group.
Laura was a great guide for hiking the glacier. She had a positive demeanor and made sure everyone remained safe throughout the hike. She told us a lot of interesting facts about the area and glacier
Upon departure we waited 30 minutes extra for one single person , which then led us to be shorted at each stop “to make up time “
The tour is amazing. Our guide Bjorn is very nice and knowledgeable about the nature of Iceland. As we were hiking, the hiking guide was also nice and humorous which added a lot fun to the hike. Someone fell during the hike and the guides provided first aid immediately and assisted the participant to finish the hike. Everyone in Iceland is so nice!! I definitely recommend this tour to anyone else who is interested in glacier hiking!
The Troll Tour glacier hike and South Coast small‑group tour was incredible. The glacier hike was truly phenomenal and such a memorable learning experience. Bjorn, our driver‑guide, kept us on time, kept us laughing, and showed us amazing sights like the waterfalls and the black sand beach. I learned so much about Iceland and loved every minute. Highly recommend a tour with Bjorn and the Troll staff as hike guides.
Excellent tour, must experience glacier walk once. Born with his witty vignettes made the trip more exciting.
Our guid Bjorn was excellent, very knowledgeable and patient. Explained about each place in detail and in an interesting manner.
bjorn was a great guide! he was very knowledgeable and kept the long day moving. just a warning to others: the hike down to the glacier has changed recently and it is not an easy hike. but doable.
The long drive over the black lava field was surprising and interesting. It really helps you understand the vastness and power of the volcanos. Then the ice cave! It was surreal and beautiful. Christian was a perfect guide and host. He answered every question and took group photos. Then, on the way back, we saw a whale not far out in the ocean and he stopped to let us take photos and videos. What a treat! He never rushed us and I'm so thrilled to have done this tour.
Gorgeous natural sights to admire combined with hiking on the glacier with a great glacier guide. The tour guide Skùli was experienced and easy-going despite tight schedule. To the Troll company a small minus from tight schedule - the clients would benefit from changing the structure of the tour since many sights offered not enough time to enjoy of them in a relaxed manner. Otherwise I had a wonderful day!
I went with my fiancé to Bjorn and he really enjoyed the places in the South Coast and the explanations he gave about his country. It was mid-August and we saw a lot of puffins in Reynisfjara (black beach at Vik). For me the best part was the Glacier hiking and we were super happy to have Federico (Pedro) as our guide cause he was very attentive to our security, but also very friendly and fun to keep the spirits up for the physical struggle. Definitely recommend it
I genuinely hope someone reads this review before booking, as this company does a terrible job at communicating what this tour is actually like. Firstly, ill say that the the bus tour operator, Bjorn, was lovely, and none of what im about to share is a reflection of him. But i had two major issues with this tour. 1. Way too little time at black sand beach—for me this was the best part of the whole thing—it was both accessible and uniquely beautiful—black sands, puffins, and stunning rock formations. Yet we only got 45 minutes to see it and have lunch at an extremely crowded restaurant. Insteqd we wasted time at two waterfalls that look like waterfalls everywhere. 2 ok, now the worst part: the hike itself: it was described as “easy to moderate” and doable for anyone who can walk 3 miles. This was NOT the case—it involves q steep, dangerous trek to the glaciars themselves that doesnt match whats on the website—the very rude hike leader didnt share this until we were halfway through it—leaving the three of us who couldnt do the walk to trek back on our to own to the parking lot in the freezing rain, where we waited 2 hours + out in the open while the rest of the group finished the tour. If i had known how difficult the tour was, i would have booked something else. Such a bummer on my last day here. Just sharing so that no one else ends up in the same position, as i dont trust this company to update their description
The best tour we have had yet! Wow wow wow! We are traveling by cruise which means we had only one day to explore The south coast, and this tour was ON POINT! We did rush a bit in our stops however we got to see A LOT in just one day! Great appreciation to BJORN and MIKA, they were a very big bounce to our trip, the best vibe and atmosphere in those two ( we loved their stories and facts ! Added a lot ) (: would recommend this trip to everyone!
Glacier hiking is amazing experience. Must try if you come to Iceland.
Excellent from start to finish. Bjorn was a wonderful driver and host, very knowledgeable and shared many interesting facts, history, and humor. Our guide for the glacier hike, Mika, was awesome- she gave great explanations and insights and was very patient with use of us who were moving a bit slower! We’re sore, it’s a long day. But what a great adventure. Totally recommend we had a blast!
Bjorn was a great tour guide! Very friendly and knowledgeable.
Touring with Björn was an absolute blast! Not only is he super witty and kept us laughing the whole way, but he was also incredibly attentive to everyone in the group. He answered all our questions effortlessly and paid great attention to every little detail. Thanks to his leadership, our trip was smooth, safe, and packed with wonderful surprises. If you’re coming to Iceland, booking with Björn is a must—highly, highly recommended!
Bjorn, our driver, was a fabulous source of information about Iceland. Pointing out interesting sights, explaining customs and so much culteral information. He was entertaining and fun as well, adding so much enjoyment to our experience. Breate, (sp?), our glacier guide was amazing. She immediately put us at ease, was encouraging and calm. She explained so much, and shared interesting facts about the glacier. She was also incredibly patient and helpful to those who were a bit apprehensive about footing. I can't thank the two enough for this once in a lifetime experience.
Amazing!! Beautiful waterfalls (you get to walk behind one of them) and black sand beach. Lovely stop for lunch. Highlight was the 3-hour glacier hike! I’m 60 and was terrified i wouldn’t be able to hack it, but I did it! The boots and crampons provided were fantastic. Tour guides Bjorn and Beate were truly the best. Bjorn kept me guessing… he said we would be climbing ladders over huge ice fissures, but he was just teasing; it was strenuous but do-able. I highly recommend the experience.
Bjorn was a wonderful guide! Timely pickup and drop offs. Excellent viewing of waterfalls, glaciers, and black sand beaches. Exactly what we came to Iceland to see!
Bjorn was exceptional as a tour guide. Great stories and great humor!
Bjorn was such a great driver and guide. Great sense of humor and very friendly. Very proud of Iceland, with great love for his country and his job. Thank you Bjorn for making this day memorable!
Beate was an incredibly kind and patient guide, always full of enthusiasm. Thanks to her, we had such a joyful and unforgettable hiking experience. Bjorn, our driver, was warm and humorous, sharing a wealth of fascinating facts about Iceland throughout the journey. The South Coast and the glacier hike were absolutely worth the trip—the scenery was breathtaking and spectacular. Highly recommend!
Just go. Our glacier group had the entire age range: from young to old. Our glacier guide Mika trained us well and accompanied us well. Our driver Sergei made stops at two waterfalls and the black sands beach, giving us enough time (you now, considering time limits). Both guides were friendly and attentive to personal needs. Superb experience!
What an incredible day! It felt like we packed a week’s worth of adventure into a single tour. Bjorn was a fantastic guide-his stories, humor and seemingly endless knowledge of Iceland kept us entertained from start to finish. The glacier hike was a highlight of the day, thanks to our guide, Katarina. I was a bit nervous about it, but her encouragement and positive energy gave me confidence.,Highly recommend this tour to anyone looking for adventure, amazing scenery, and outstanding guides.
Fantastic experience! Björn was the best guide I’ve ever had, incredibly knowledgeable, friendly and humorous!
An awesome adventure. The rain stopped for us to enjoy the black beach and George was a great guide for the glacier hike! We had all types of people on the hike and everyone had a successful excursion on the glacier.
Another great excursion here in Iceland. Our guide Maria’ was funny, knowledgable and of course Super Icelandic! Between stops she gave us plenty of facts & history of the region we were near and the country in general. Fun walking under the falls, climbing hundreds of steps to the top of another waterfall & the glacier hike was awesome. Be prepared for a 12 hr day but sooo worth it.
A brilliant, well organised and exciting day out. Jon (Ionut) was excellent and looked after us all day, a true gentleman (thank you)! Ethan was a great guide on the Glacier and looker after us really well (as well as being a lovely bloke).
Being physically active seniors in our seventies we were pushing the upper age range for the glacier hike. Our joyful guide Beth made the hike fun, safe, and interesting. John the other guide who drove us around the South Coast was very accommodating. The trip was an experience of a lifetime and we were grateful for having this opportunity.
We were in the wrong location for pick up but Þorkell (we think!!!) called and ensured we met him just around the corner. The van was very comfortable, he offered information as we drove through the south coast. We were spoiled with beautiful weather. we completed our glacier hike with Jerkoff who was exceptional - truly. I recommend this tour. We loved the Golden Circle but the South Coast became our favorite after this experience!
We had a wonderful day, very good and well organized programm, the engangement of the guide was excepionell. Very nice guy. Highly recommanded.
Overall, the experience was really very nice. Anna, the guide for the glacier excursion, was fantastic and very friendly. The bus driver was very skilled at driving and handling the road, although he sometimes seemed a bit less friendly in his interactions with people.
Amazing tour with a genuine Icelandic as our tour guide. Elias went above and beyond for everyone on the tour and had the patience of a saint with some challenging passengers! He ensured we saw all landmarks despite running behind schedule and we never felt rushed. The Glacier hiking was amazing! We were very lucky with the weather and Lorenzo was a brilliant hiking guide. Would highly recommend this tour
This was phenomenal! You hit multiple spots, but the glacier hike is the golden gem! Absolute beautiful adventure to get to see the ups and downs of the glacier. You see the bright blue colors and learn how it has formed and changed over time. You are given appropriate gear to be safe and secure while on us and our guide was phenomenal. Funny and able to make everyone laugh, but also, knowledgeable about the history and science of the glacier. It was beautiful to see Mother Nature and all her powers. Book this and you will NOT be disappointed!
I would highly recommend. Our driver was great at making sure we understood the itinerary for seeing the south coast and where was the best place to get food, drinks ect. Yhr cafe at black sand beach was very good. The waterfalls we great but my favourite place was black sand beach but I believe it's changed a bit since we were there. We went onto the glacier with Edgar. He was a brilliant guide. Very patient and friendly. He didn't make me feel stupid for being nervous on the ice, which I appreciate. The glacier is stunning and unforgettable. This whole experience was a highlight of my trip.
It was a great trip. Walking on the glacier was really fun. I was scared of it a little bit at first but Frederico our guide educate us so well. He gave us tips on how to control the crampons. It was fun!
The combination of the dramatic waterfall, the otherworldly black sand beach and the thrilling glacier hike made this part of the Iceland tour an absolute standout. Standing at the base of the waterfall, with water crashing down and mist rising all around, felt like stepping into a fantasy movie. The black sand beach, with its jet-black grains and crashing Atlantic waves, had an eerie yet breathtaking beauty—perfect for capturing unforgettable photos. The glacier hike was the highlight of the whole trip; equipped with crampons and guided by an experienced instructor, we trekked across the sparkling blue ice, explored hidden crevasses and learned about Iceland’s glacial history. Every moment was well-organized, safe and incredibly immersive, creating memories that will last a lifetime.
AMAZING! Everything about this day trip was incredible. The driver/guide was knowledgeable, friendly and very efficient. Enough time allocated at each stop. The glacier hike was fantastic and a must.
This was the most fun and breath taking tour I have made. The water falls and glacier hike are places that I'll take with me the rest of my life! Bjorn was our guide and along the road trip he provided us with the rich history of the country, background stories about the places where we were going to and even about the villages and towns that we were passing by. He is a kind person that loves helping and meeting people.
We had a wonderful time exploring South Coast of Iceland: waterfalls, Black Beach, and of course the glacier hike which was the highlight of the experience! Well-paced tour. Our guide (Bjorn) was wonderful as well- shared lots of stories, had a sense of humor and kept us all on track. Thank you, Bjorn!
Bjorn was our guide. So friendly and knowledgeable. Great sense of humor too! I thoroughly enjoyed our excursion and would highly recommend this.
Great guide, lots good info and kept us entertained. Would definitely recommend amd would.dp another tour no problem.
Fun adventure done with the family. Just the right amount of walking for the day. The glaciers were amazing and out of this world. Our guide Bjorn was also very friendly and knowledgeable about Iceland.
