Was really looking forward to this tour but they cancelled at 8pm the night before because they didn’t get enough bookings. If they had given any warning of this we might have been able to find others or switch to a different tour with them or even a private tour because we really wanted a geologist tour. They sent an email when they cancelled saying they would help us figure out other options but then didn’t respond to emails or texts asking for help, so we had to book from a different operator or risk having no tour on our single day in Iceland. They seem to cancel last minute pretty regularly so maybe only book if you have multiple days in Iceland and can be flexible, not when you only have a short time there?

Itinerary
The Thingvellir National park is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and the oldest national park in Europe. There I will give you a detailed introduction to the geology as well as a little insight into the cultural significance of this place. Walk on the edge of the continental plates and learn about the amazing geology of this place. We will take a walk in the National Park and see also Öxarárfoss, a small waterfall that you maybe know from 'Game of Thrones'
Feel the heat and smell the sulfur of geothermal hot springs and get splashed by Iceland's famous Geysir Strokkur. A short lunch break is planned in the Geysir Restaurant, where we can strengthen ourselves for the rest of the day. (Price for lunch is not included).
Iceland's most powerful waterfall with an interesting background story is waiting for you. In Winter Gullfoss is one of the most beautiful Waterfalls ins Iceland, in Summer you can get even closer and feel the power of the water.
Besides the beautiful colours of this place, we will also discover unique geology features of this place. A volcanic crater that erupted about 6500 years ago is a great place to enjoy the last stop of our tour.

The tour was excellent. The golden circle tour is a great way to get a sampling of the natural beauty available in Iceland. And our tour guide was wonderful, providing incite into the geological aspects of the things we were seeing, along with historical context and a local perspective. Based on the bookings that day, our group received a private tour. This allowed for the tour guide to customize the information provided, based on our questions/interests, etc. Provisions could have been made for physical limitations, although that was not necessary within our group. Overall, it was a really good tour. I highly recommend it. And there are several other tours offered by the same company. I feel confident they would also be very well done.
Our tour guide was extremely knowledgeable and well educated - both a degreed geologist and masters degreed volcanologist. She shared her knowledge to inform all that we observed to life over nearly 10-hours! I wholeheartedly recommend experiencing the unique geology of Iceland with an enthusiastic expert!
It cancelled at the very last minute leaving me very little time to book another trip for the day. So that was unfortunate
This was an excellent tour, with guide Giuseppe who is a volcanologist! Of course for Iceland, land of volcanoes, this is the best kind of geologist to have with you. He explained all the different types of volcanoes we saw, and the types of lava. It didn't hurt that we had a Perfectly clear and sunny day and could see for miles!! Highly recommend.
Giuseppe as a knowledgeable , friendly and accommodating guide. Geiser was the best part of the day and learned alot of history
I can’t recommend this tour enough. Giuseppe was a wonderful guide! Both my wife and I are my parents are frequent travelers and we collectively agreed this is one of the best tours any of us have taken, anywhere. It’s a long day so pack your snacks, but it’s totally worth it.
Exceptional experience, amazing guide. Highly recommended. 9 hours of the trip passed as a single moment.
To the Thingvellir National Park to see Europe and America being pulled apart, the Geysir Strokkur which are amazing - even if they did not perform to their full height , the Gullfoss Waterfall with ice was astonishing, and the Kerid Crater very beautiful as the sun was setting. Our Geologist with us all the way. The only thing that lets this down was the tour vehicle was just was not big enough for 6 adults ... having to unfold ourselves from the bench seats.
It was incredible. She showed us so many cool things in Iceland. She even made time for me to see Bobby Fischer’s grave. Which originally was not on the tour. Excellent!!
A thoroughly enjoyable day that fulfilled our expectations. There was no rush at any of the sites, the day passed at a gentle pace so it extended well beyond official completion time with no complaints from anybody, a generous full day and we collapsed happily into bed exhausted. Naming a preferred visit was impossible amongst such a feast of geological highlights but there were also great birds and plants to be seen!
This was a really well organised and interesting trip. Jasmine was an excellent guide, she struck the perfect balance of interesting information and quiet down time to take in the amazing sites. Very comfortable vehicle too.
The geologist tour guide was fantastic at explaining the geology of the national park, geysers, waterfalls, and volcanic cones. She also knows the history of Iceland and the places we visited. Her patience with our physical condition (not the best for me) on the hikes was heart warming. Highly recommend this tour!
Jasmin's tour was awesome! So fascinating learning the geology of the area by someone so passionate about volcanoes (and Iceland). We visited the 4 major stops of the Golden Circle and spent a perfect amount of time at each. The group was small so perfect for plenty of opportunities to ask questions. Some hiking so be prepared. Three recommendations for future participants - wear sunscreen, bring a refillable water bottle and something cushy to put behind you as the seat belt in the middle back seat is quite uncomfortable.
What more could you ask for. A knowledgeable guide, great history and beautiful scenery. It is obvious Jasmine loves what she does, very enthusiastic about the complicated geology of the golden circle area but at the same time makes it easy to understand. I highly recommend this tour, but only if you don’t care to be on a bus /van with a lot of people and want to learn a lot
Jasmin was a fantastic guide. Very clear communication ahead of our trip and she was waiting for us at our agreed meeting point with car seats for my children. This is a small group tour and is therefore more intimate and far less rushed. The level of knowledge that Jasmin has about geology is amazing and she really brings Iceland alive. We were all fascinated and learnt so much. Unlike other tours that drop you off and give you a brief amount of time to take in the sights, this tour allows longer to explore, and Jasmin accompanies you to explain about the interesting history as well as geological aspects. Unlike the standard golden circle Tim his also takes in the crater which is not to be missed. I wish that we could have taken her with us to South Iceland! I would not hesitate to recommend this tour.
