Absolutely thrilling VR experience. Exceeded our expectations. What a fabulous way to get a sense of this great island and a fun ride into the bargain.

Itinerary
As the country’s only flying ride, FlyOver Iceland takes guests on exhilarating journeys over the world’s most spectacular scenery — from the American West to the Canadian Rockies and across some of Iceland’s most iconic sites — all without leaving Reykjavík. Using advanced technology, we capture thrilling, authentic footage of real locations so guests can experience those places as they truly are. The flight ride experience is extended with a pre-show that brings guests deeper into the film, Kaffi Grandi, which serves Icelandic fare, and a retail area selling local souvenirs.

This was a fantastic experience, even better than I expected. It was an awesome, exhilarating feeling of flying over Iceland. Totally immersive. I wouldn't hesitate to return.
The Flyover experience was really good, we wished it could have gone on longer. The first two little shows were ok but maybe aimed for the children not really for adults.
My husband needed something to do while I snorkelled between the tectonic plates. He loved this and was delighted he could video it to share with me too.
Wonderful experience, great way to experience Iceland's majestic natural beauty. The flight mayyy be a little unnerving if you have a fear of heights and movement, so watch for that!
We were trying to fit in other things that didn’t take a long time. It was a little drizzly out and was a perfect day to be inside. It was educational, human experience and overall beautiful immersive experience.
This an awesome experience! You should definitely go see. The staff is amazing and accommodating especially to those with mobility concerns.
To tell the truth, interesting concept, but the show left us a bit dissapointed and sick to our stomachs. For the price of 42€ per person we expected more. The actual flight was quite short and the movements didn't always exactly match to what we saw, making us ALL feel sick at the end of it, we couldnt eat for 2 hours after. I would have given a higher rating, if movements matched the video more or the price was much lower. There are much better shows in the near area, like the Lava show, the Whale museum/expo and very notable, the Perlan museum (from here, around 1 hour walk through the city center or a 15min bus drive plus a bit of walking).
I've done these rides in other places (Soarin' at Epcot and FlyNY) and I was so happy to hear about this one. My flight came in early so I booked the experience on the first day. Depending on where your hotel is, it's a nice walk to get to the venue. The ride was great and seemed to last a little longer than the other ones I've been on. I looked forward to this and it didn't disappoint. Highly recommended.
Absolutely amazing. Would recommend it to every visitor.
I didn’t have high expectations for this but it well exceeded my expectations. The process from entrance to the first show is efficient (a bit like herding sheep) and you have to do the mandatory photo tone picked up in the gift shop. The first two experiences are meh, but fairly well done, the actual flyover experience is very well done, I could do without the misting but other than that, it is impressive and really gives you a fell for Iceland.
The fun experience begins with a movie about trolls and the history of Iceland then you change rooms to another movie and the third station is your actual flyover simulator. It’s very fun and especially great for kids.
Amazing Fly over show!! Everything was great! The host and entire experience couldn’t have gone better. Would definitely visit again!!
If you enjoy Soarin' at Disney, I think you'll like this. The pre-show could use a little revamping, but the ride itself was a fun-filled sensory experience. As someone with mobility issues I appreciated that there was seating available during the non-ride portions. Tickets are a little pricey but if you buy ahead of time, you can use a coupon code from the Visit Iceland website and save a bit. The ride was longer than Soarin' and we enjoyed it!
We chose to drive from our hotel located in central Reykjavik and it was just a short commute. It was easy to book and the staff were very friendly and helpful when you arrive. I would say the length of visit is probably arrive 30 mins prior to your show, the lenght of your show and then walking out to your car. As it was March, it was a shoulder tourist season and there was plenty of parking available. We managed to park right outside the front door. Pricing was fairly reasonable for the experience. The experience itself was really good. It gave a great overview of the island and the changing landscape through the seasons. The narration was very informative. This is a definite must see when you visit Iceland / Reykjavik as it gives you a great insight to the country while doing it in a really fun package.
This was a fun activity! The intros were a nice introduction to some of the history and mythology of Iceland. This was my first fly over experience so I don't have too much to compare if to, but I appreciated that it was short and the mists during the flight helped to cool me down and prevent motion sickness. The flight itself was very beautiful and gave us a good rush! We appreciated seeing a lot of the scenery that is not visible from the road. Highly recommend buying tickets on viator as they are significantly cheaper than buying them at the box office.
Too many people. The first 2 rooms i couldn’t even see the video. The actual ride made me nauseous
Flyover Iceland was a great experience. The ride gives you a birds eye view of the many landscapes in Iceland from glaciers to volcano's, waterfalls, lava fields etc. Beautiful scenery!
The staff were courteous and friendly. They were ensuring each person could see the assorted presentations. Crowd size kept small and the flow was easy. Each of the three presentations were kept short. Each presentation provided a different experience and information about this incredible country. First presentation is the introduction to what it means to be icelandic. The next offers the cultural historical aspects. The final presentation is the fully immersive. Those sensitive to motion may want to take medication prior. Had to fight the urge to pick feet up when flying over rivers as my mind thought they would be getting wet and also atop myself feom ducking down when flying through the archway. Feeling the mist on your face, smelling the fragrance, seeing the many parts of Iceland while sitting in one place. Learning of the origins, the trolls and more plus the flyover... Truly incredible experience. Atmosphere kept clean. Confusion however with the offering of free shuttle.
Fun activity indoors, especially if the weather isn’t great. The ride/tour was relatively short but it included some breathtaking sights as we flew over Iceland.
We really enjoyed the FlyOver Iceland experience. In fact, we liked it so much that we took advantage of the promotion to go on another ride at 50 percent off. Our second ride was entitled, “Chicago.” I just absolutely loved it!!! It was quite ironic to see Chicago in Iceland, but very enjoyable for sure. I was so moved by the children’s choir in the movie experience. It made me feel proud to be a working American.
Great experience here, I appreciated the history videos shown prior to the “flight”. The flying experience itself was wonderful and the landscapes and imagery shown was amazing!
I hated the inital photo time and weird troll story but the flyover itself was really fun. I wanted to go again but don't want to go through the first half
So much fun. I love these types of rides.
Well worth a visit! Very organised and the 'flyover' session was stunning. There were three parts to the experience: A short film where there was no seating, another animation with limited seating and then the flyover session where we were all strapped in.
Entertaining experience w spectacular views of Iceland. Mist from waterfalls and all.
There's two rooms you go thru and hear stories of history, mythology and nature before your flight experience. The audio was a bit difficult to understand as the words were fully enunciated/ clear The flight experience is incredible and we would love to do it again It is an expensive experience that only takes approx 30 mins There's also a 'Chicago flight experience' which we were told about when inquiring about the half-price ticket & annual pass
If you're not used to height, it will scare the poop out of you!! but what a wonderful experience🇮🇸🇮🇸🩵🩵🩵🩵
Amazing interactive experience with taste, smells and movement. Something very different but you see and witness different landscapes across Iceland and we finally saw the northern lights here! Sadly not in real life! But still amazing to see. My 15 year old daughter loved the experience and making all kinds of sounds. I had a slight headache so felt a bit queasy when finished but sat in the small cafe onsite with a bottle of water and felt much more settled. We travelled via public transport bus and was easy to navigate. This was part of my 50th birthday celebrations & im really pleased we experienced this. Would definitely recommend.
We headed over here to kill some time before the Lava Show, and enjoyed the spectacle. This is very reminiscent of Soarin' at WDW, and has all the oohs, and ahhs as well as 4D effects such as water and aromas to immerse the viewer. Yet, it would have been nice to have had more information about the locations in Iceland being shown, and there were missed opportunities to provide context and history.
Don't be put-off by the fairly tedious preshow videos. Once you get strapped-in and the actual ride begins you're going to have a jaw-dropping experience. The flight is highly realistic, you really do feel like you're whizzing through the air over many of Iceland's most beautiful locations. We loved it. At the time of writing it's easy to find a 10% discount online.
Like the Disneyland experience, but in Iceland. A good family event, with some Viking and Nordic information prior to the flight.
This was the most fabulous experience. Our guide, Louise, was very attentive and made sure we were ready to fly! The longhouse and history aspect were really interesting. The premium package ensured that afterwards we could relive the amazing flight we had just taken. Small caveat - if you suffer from motion sickness, it might not be so great!
It was a great experience we all liked it very much. If you wanted to see Iceland from a helicopters window this would be the perfect choice
Great way to see a lot of Iceland in a short time. I found myself seeing a lot of places we had been to and also a lot more places to explore. It's so beautiful, got a little teary eyed. The first 2 rooms are sort of schmaltzy. But the fly over Iceland part was great. If you get a bit dizzy, just close your eyes.
I would like to express my gratitude and help that we got today. The staff member was really helpful, she is from Spain, i forgot to ask her name (my bad). You should be very happy of having someone like her working for the company.
I thought it was really well done! Don’t go if you have motion sickness issues. Do go if you want an amazing cinematic experience.
Wow! This was so fun! It was the perfect way to review all of the fantastic sites we had visited. I loved it.
(Sunday August 16) We had a “day off” and took a long walk along the harbor and decided to experience FlyOver. The facility itself is clean and organized with a nice gift shop and cafe. The experience starts with 2 different immersive videos on the history of Iceland that were very well done and interesting. And then you are ushered into the FlyOver “ride” itself. The ride is quite impressive and enthralling. You are strapped in seats that lift into the air and move as you watch a video on a large spherical screen. It is really cool. Unfortunately, it is only 8 minutes long. Overall, the full experience is fun and entertaining, but it is pricey and bit out of the way if you’re on foot. If you’ve already been to Perlan, you probably don’t need to see FlyOver.
After getting your ticket scanned, you're forced into a line to get your photos taken which can then be purchased after the ride. This really slowed up the process and they really try to force everyone to have their photo taken. A couple in front of us declined their photo and had to politely decline many times before the lady took the hint and let them through. We also declined and were told "you have to, it enhances the experience". After saying no multiple times, she finally let us through but she was clearly annoyed that we didn't want a photo. Also, the two videos in the beginning seem unnecessary and didn't really add to the experience. The ride is enjoyable and if you've never done one of these before elsewhere, I'd say go for it. It would've been a better if they weren't so pushy with the photos though.
Totally worth it. No need to purchase a premium seat - any seat is good. There will be moments you may feel dizzy.
It was amazingly real and I felt very happy to see a lot of Iceland from the sky’s. The movement from the ride as realistic.
Very, very nice activity and ride We really really loved it. It was definitely worth the investment was very easy to book through the website.
I was anxious at first, since I am afraid of heights but after the adventure I can tell you Absolutely Amazing experience.
Informative loved the simulator portion very much. Would highly recommend. The scenari is beautiful.
We enjoyed the Fly Over experience, but as we got to the venue early there are no seats to wait. There was only seating in the cafe.
A very informative 30 minute session giving a brief overview of Iceland's history and folklore while enjoying an incredible virtual ride flying over the country's unforgettable and beautiful landscapes.
Be careful waiting in the seating queue before the movie. If a family with kids shows up last, they might separate you and your wife to better accommodate this late arriving family. They get to sit closer together while you and your wife get separated and are nowhere near each other, after being told that wouldn’t happen. Hold your ground. The movie was good though.
Perfect start to our Iceland holiday, a flight over Iceland! We really enjoyed getting the views of Iceland before we travelled and it was one of my husband’s favourite trips. It is easy to find and we were well looked after. We had the standard tickets.
My wife and I very much enjoyed the flight over beautiful Iceland. The ride reminded me of California Adventure ride at Disneyland only it was Iceland instead of California. Really make you feel like flying. We bought the VIP package which we afterwards did not feel worth the extra price. The photos did not download and the drink .... well it was a drink and that's it. What would have been better was to purchase the back to back ticket which we would have been up for as the ride was so fantastic. This is located in not the easiest place to find. We walked from the hotel and should have done more prep work on directions. GPS was only moderately helpful when on foot. All in all this one of the highlights of the Icelandic trip. Must come back for the Golden Circle, but you see it from above when you purchase this ride. Didn't have time, but understand the nearby volcano exhibit also worth the effort.
