Excellent tour and tasting. We booked this tour at the distillery's website on same day (Tuesday) and we luckily received a private tour. Make sure you have a designated driver or taxi, because the tasting tour was phenomenal. Highly recommend it if you want to try various whiskies, gins, and others.

Good experience. The right amount of information for the time allotted. Tasted a wide array of gin and bourbon.
My husband and I had the BEST time on this tour!!!!! Our tour guide, John (hopefully I spelled it right) was hilarious!!! He was amazing and gave us so much history and info on Iceland. Back at work, I'm still talking about his tour and all the information he told us during the visit. I would definitely do this tour again as long as he is the guide! :-) And the gins and whiskeys were so so good! I got a couple bottles. I had a great time visiting here!
The tour was great, we learned alot about the history of Icelands farming tendancies and how they play into the whiskey making on the island. Rock was a great tour guide and explained all about each whiskey and the decisions into making each variation.
The tour was really interesting and great fun, with an excellent guide who was both hilarious and incredibly informative. There was plenty to learn, lots of laughs, and lots and lots of gin and whisky to taste! A fantastic experience from start to finish.
This was a great experience to taste Icelandic whisky firsthand. The guide was thoroughly knowledgeable and nice and we got to try any other whiskies that weren’t included in the 5 tasters. It was very fun and enjoyable! I bought bottles and merchandise to take back with me to the USA. Highly recommend if you like whisky.
Amazing experience, Im sooo drunk right now, tour guide explained everything really good and spent hours answering our questions, drinks were super amazing, 100% recommend do not misd this place
The tour guide was incredibly well informed and passionate about the topic. Whisky was delicious but the gin was the star of the show. Thank you! Worth the money for sure.
Small distillery with a decent variety of whiskeys and a few gins to try. Enjoyed the info behind each whiskey/gin and definitely enjoyed the tasting.
Really great experience, was nice to discover new kind of whisky !
If you like trying new whiskeys, it’s worth the time. I got some Blueberry gin; I like the sweet stuff.
Had a good time. Enjoyed trying so many different whiskeys. Looking forward to coming back in a few tears to see you again and the progress you make! Well done.
I've done several distillery tours around the world, and I would rate this one right at the top. Our guide was fantastic, he explained everything clearly and enthusiastically, gave us a great tour of the distillery, and showed us how the magic happens behind the scenes. He was also happy to answer every question we threw at him. As part of the tour, we got to taste all of their products, as well as anything else we were interested in trying. He was even thoughtful enough to package the extra tastings in takeaway bottles for anyone who was driving, so we wouldn't miss out on trying them while still being able to drive responsibly. I highly recommend this tour to anyone who loves high-quality spirits and wants to learn more about how they're made. An excellent experience from start to finish!
We loved our experience with Eimverk! Our guide was knowledgeable about the process of whiskey making and was engaging and funny. We loved all the tastings and the opportunity to get up close and personal with the distilling equipment. This is a wonderful, family-run business with great products. We were thrilled to support Eimverk and purchased a few bottles to bring home. The blueberry gin is amazing!!! Highly recommend this intimate experience.
Great tour, lots of knowledge on the process of of all the gins, whiskeys and schnapps. Get to taste about dozen different things. Highly recommend
We very much enjoyed our tour and tasting experience! We learned a lot about the history of distilling in Iceland, and the process for making the spirits at Eimverk. We tasted several spirits, and learned about how to evaluate their aromas as well for a full experience. Our host was very knowledgeable and fun to converse with. Highly recommend! We bought bottles of gin and brennivin to bring home.
Guide was knowledgeable and did a great job of sharing that knowledge with the guests. Tasting has more samples than expected. Enjoyed the entire experience
I recently visited Iceland for the first time in late August with my wife and adult daughter. Knowing that both my daughter and I love good whiskey, my wife booked a tour at Eimverks. I had no idea that Iceland even produced whisky or gin, I didn't know what to expect. As it turned out, the 1 & 1/2 hour tour and tasting was both a revelation and treat! Jon, the tour guide for the evening, was knowledgable and entertaining. The tasting revealed unexpected excellence in the products. I am looking forward to adding Floki to my list of favorite whiskies. If you love fine whiskey and gin, definitely make Eimverks a stop on a visit to Iceland!
We enjoyed the tasting and tour! We'd do it again if we ever go back to Iceland.
AWESOME EXPERIENCE. Tasted samples of all their amazing products and learned the process to elaborate them. The guide was absolutely amazing! Loved to learn that their products are 100% Icelandic made. Would definitely recommend and come back next time we’re in town.
This was the highlight of our trip so far! What an amazing afternoon/evening we had with Jón, tasting some amazing spirits and enjoying Jón‘s tales about Icelandic history, language and tradition, and how these have informed the drinks. The sheep dung- smoked whisky was incredible and we’ve never tasted a whisky quite like it. Lovely little distillery, real local feel and we would highly recommend it!
Our host was amazing. Made the tour fun and enjoyable. Learning about the local whiskey and its history was great. And the tastings of course. Offered is Gin and Tonics upon arrival while the first tour was not done. Also gave local areas to visit in Iceland off the beaten tourist paths.
We are not experienced "tasters" but found the event very welcoming and interesting - the guide was knowledgable and entertaining and gave a very good intro to the history of the distillery and brewing in Iceland. We were a small group of 10 people, so everyone got to ask questions and it never felt rushed in any way. The tastings were generous and again we felt like there was plenty of time to enjoy the experience. There was a souvenir shop with lots of interesting items and opportunity to shop some of the products, but absolutely no pressure.
Guðjón was incredibly informative, friendly, and an all around pleasure. The cost of admission was easily worth the experience. We ended up buying a few of the whiskeys and both the brennivíns at duty free on our way home.
We loved the tour and our guide Roc was excellent. Lots, AND LOTS of tasting options. We highly recommend this tour.
The owner's presentation and tour was very interesting. She made us taste nearly all the products available, so our curiosity was greatly satisfied. The products were varied and unique, and the stories to go along with them equally so. Even if you're not a whisky connoisseur, trust me it's definitely worth a visit!
Awesome experience. Guide was very personable!!
This is a fantastic low key informative tasting tour . So very worth it ! Our leader was knowledgeable and we tasted 2 Gins and MANY whiskeys !!
Tour guide was phenomenal walked us through the history of the company and whiskey making process. I think having this kind of experience in the US is rare now. It was so cool doing this tour with a company that really is in just the beginning and you can see how big they are going to be.
Great guide, very personable and informative, loved it!!
Very informative visit where you see the distillery process and then taste excellent whiskies and gin and all this with an excellent guide !
The tour was a perfect way to end our trip! Our host was awesome and was a highlight of the experience! Generous samples and high quality product, would highly recommend!
Our tour guide was very informative and funny. Lots of tastings during the one hour tour. Would definitely recommend if you have extra time in Reykjavík.
An amazing experience! We learned so much about Iceland’s history and the history of the distillery. The CEO led our tour, he was super kind and knowledgeable! We had a lot of tasters and time spent in the distillery! If you like Whiskey, this is a must do in Iceland!!
I've done tastings at big distilleries in Colorado US and Scotland. This is not that. It is, however, a wonderful experience in a small-scale distillery. The tastings were all well described and served in appropriate volume, the tour itself (however small) covered the spectrum of distilling and included tasting of the raw spirits (for those who wanted to) and discussion of the cuts. The guide was one of the distilling team, very knowledgable and friendly. It had the highest experience to cost ratio of any tour or experience I did in Iceland - such great value for the money!
Awesome explanation and good pours!
My wife and I ended up having the tour to ourselves, which made for an incredible experience. Our guide made it feel more like a conversation than a presentation, taking the time to answer our questions and tailor the tour to what interested us most. He was exceptionally knowledgeable and shared great insights into the distillery’s process, ingredients, and the stories behind the spirits. His friendly, genuine personality made the whole experience feel relaxed and personal. We learned a lot, had a great time, and would highly recommend this tour to anyone visiting.
This was honestly such a wonderful and wholesome experience. I took my dad here as a gift and it stood above and beyond over other tours we’ve done! The price was very affordable for what we got in tasters and knowledge of the craft! I recommend!!
Host was entertaining and personable. Top notch gins, unique whiskey but small facility. If you enjoy spirits this is a great tour.
We booked the 4 pm tour on a Saturday months before arrival in Reykjavik. We appreciated the quick response to our questions. This was an easy and short taxi ride from our hotel and a fun afternoon excursion before our Sky Lagoon visit which is also close by. The tasting room was full and it was an interesting introduction to the differences of the distilling process and ingredients in the Iceland. The host was interesting and friendly - he helped with calling our taxi to leave when we had issues with the app.
This is the most generous and entertaining distillery tour I have ever been on - and at my age you’ve been to many on stag weekends and boys trips. Our host was charming and funny - poured a generous measure and many different ones. The history and nature of each whisky, gin and vodka was explained in detail as well as the story of the distillery itself. We never felt rushed or pressured to buy - instead we were entertained and hosted in style. I can’t recommend it highly enough
I honestly didn’t expect this tour to be anywhere near as interesting as it turned out to be. Of course, you learn about the whisky, the production process and what makes Flóki unique, but the experience goes far beyond that. Jón was fantastic. His knowledge is incredibly deep, and what really stands out is how passionate he is about sharing it. You can tell he genuinely enjoys what he does, and that energy makes the whole tour engaging from start to finish. What surprised me most was that the tour wasn’t just about whisky. Jón weaves Icelandic history, culture and traditions into the experience in a way that feels natural and fascinating. By the end, I felt like I had learned as much about Iceland as I had about whisky. The tasting was also far more generous than I expected. The amount of whisky you get to try for the price is incredible, and the overall value of the experience is hard to beat. If you're visiting Iceland, whether you're a whisky lover or not, I highly recommend this tour. It was informative, entertaining, and one of the most unexpectedly enjoyable experiences of my trip. Huge thanks to Jón for making it such a memorable experience.
We had a weird gap in our day so we decided to fill it with the distillery tour, and now it’s something I don’t think our trip would be the same without! We had an incredible experience with Nico at the distillery tour. He was a highly knowledgeable guide and we enjoyed learning about the process from start to finish. He was eager to answer questions and so friendly. The drinks were all quite delicious and the only regret I have is that I cannot bring more home on the flight! With a group size of just 6 total on our tour, we felt very comfortable. If I could give it more than 5 stars, I would!
We got a wonderful tour and a very special tasting. Many thanks to our guide who also spoke Danish. Plus Norwegian, Swedish, Germans, Dutch, English and of course Icelandic
The tour of the Eimverk Distillery was very in depth. Despite being smaller in stature than most other distilleries, the tour was very detailed and we learned a lot about Iceland and their spirits scene. The gentleman who gave the tour was engaging and made the time spent a delight. They provided samples of most of their product line which was more than I was expecting given the paltry share other distillers provide at tasting.
Turning up to find I was the only person on the tour I was worried about it being awkward but the welcome was really friendly and a gin & tonic to start off. The tour guide (Bjorn?) was absolutely brilliant, a great blend of information about the distillery mixed with information about Icelandic history, jokes and even magic. The distillery itself is small but the way the distillery manages all of its supply chain is interesting and a tasting of fledgling spirit and the tour was a nice gap between the gin/aquavit and whisky tasting elements. The whisky tasting was across all of the expressions the distillery offers and it was interesting to compare and contrast young malts with those aged longer. All of the malts they make tasted great, my favourite were the beer barrel aged and sheep dung smoked whiskies. I’m not a vodka fan but their vodka is nice and their gins/brennivin are also excellent. The distillery is a 15min (c.5,000 isk) cab ride from downtown Reykjavik and given the generosity of tastings and general cost of alcohol in Iceland represents superb value for money at €41 per person. But the experience was fabulous so I’d not hesitate to recommend in any event. A tip (which they told me anyway so I’m not denying them sales)- you can buy almost all of the whiskies, aquavit and some gins at Keflavik airport duty free. Distillers edition, the sloe gin and a couple of others you can only buy at the distillery. Also their merch is excellent and locally made, I bought a lovely pottery coffee cup.
Experienced, generous and kind staff , good products, simple presentation in a cool setting. When I learned there was Whisky Distillery in Iceland I was intrigued, I left entirely satisfied with new bottles for my bar.
My wife and I arrived 30 minutes early for the tour and tasting. The gentleman from Eimverk greeted as and offered us a most wonderful gin & tonic while we waited for our tour & tasting. He was super knowledgeable and answered many questions. He was absolutely terrific through the tour & tasting. We learned much about the Eimverk history of distilling spirits, as well as much about the distilling business in general. We rate the experience 5-star A+++++ and recommend the tour & tasting with much enthusiasm. Enjoy!
A must stop for any whiskey or gin enjoyer. You get to sample alot. With the goal of keeping as much as possible sources from iceland the flavors are truly unique and the concepts are interesting. If I remember correctly the only thing outsourced are the barrels and the bottles. EVERYTHING else is sourced from iceland. As our guide let us sample even more if there were any we were interested in. The setting is casual and the tour is small but the tasting is where this event shines. You owe it to yourself to get the inside scoop on this ground breaking distillery.
Excellent visit to this distillery. We went by bus from Reykjavik and it worked very well. The guide/personnel at the distillery was very nice and welcoming. The visit itself is short, but the tasting part was very complete and great, in a very nice room. They have excellent products!
