Check in was a bit chaotic But changing facilities, lagoon, saunas etc were lovely Face mask included and a free drink at the end
The Blue Lagoon was beyond my expectations! It's a very clean environment, and the staff is helpful. It's a surreal experience. A must-do if in Iceland!
This is a wonderful place to visit, the staff very very helpful as we went on the wrong day but not a problem. The lagoon itself is really special i loved the steam room/sauna in the cave it is well worth the visit.Your skin will never feel that clean again.
This is a must do if going to iceland. We very much enjoyed it. Busy, yes, but big enough and spread out enough to not feel crowded. The skin care products they sell a the their store are very good.
Blue lagoon was a wonderful experience. I would highly recommend going. The place is gorgeous and very well organized. I came away very relaxed
Great experience but be mindful about glitches on booking processes between Viator and Blue Lagoon itself. We arrived at the Blue Lagoon and receptionist couldn’t find our name booked in by Viator despite having booking reference number via the Viator app and ticket. Had to call the Viator operator (grateful to have been lent by the Blue lagoon receptionist “Augustina” her phone as we only had eSIMs) so that we can be added on the booking. It made a rather stressful initial visit to the lagoon having to sort this out when we’ve already paid in advance. I hope this doesn’t happen to anyone else who chooses this tour in the future
Very fun! Relaxing, beautiful full moon out during our visit. Would definitely go back. Would definitely recommend
We enjoyed the experience. Nothing like being in a large, naturally heated pool in 35 degree temperature. It was very comfortable and never cold even when standing above the water. Would recommend the experience if in Iceland.
Great trip. Easy to book. Stayed about 3 hours.
If part of a tour then you need very little with you, all is explained and provided. If you want to take pictures then you need a waterproof case and a safe means to carry your phone or camera. Lockers are provided as well as robes and towels.
Great experience. Very organized location, easy to relax and enjoy the warm waters! Highly recommend!
The blue lagoon is incredible. Getting to and from was a little more confusing then I imagined. Going we had a fly bus to terminal and then transferred to tour bus. Then getting back it was unclear what bus to take, we ended up on the wrong bus and almost missed the bus because there were no clear signs or people directing which bus was which, so getting back to reljavik was a bit confusing, but the blue lagoon was incredible.
Our cruise was delayed so we called the tour company. They would not wait 3 minutes for us or give us a plan as to where to meet. We had to hire a taxi and made it to the lagoon before the bus did. It cost us $197.00. This could have been avoided but they did not work with us. Also it says the tour is 5 hours but it is not. The last bus leaves at 8:15. When I contacted Viator for compensation, they did nothing. Very disappointed.
The blue lagoon is amazing, do not recommend through Viator. The cruise ship was delayed and they would not wait 3 minutes for us. We even called and they said no. It cost us 197 dollars to take a taxi there. I called afterwards and they would not do anything to compensate our expense. It could have been avoided. Very disappointed.
Premium package was completely worth it! 4 masks, cocktail, robe! The lagoon was huge with saunas, waterfalls and great staff! We had transfer from the city and it was hard to find our bus when it was time to go but another service offered us a ride.
The blue lagoon is a massive party in a big warm lake, but there are quiet areas too. It's excellent fun. You cant really.take anything with you into the lake, but you dont need to. Leave everything except your robe (and your phone if you have one of those bags) in your locker.
I was picked up on time. There was some confusion on my return ride. I had to walk a short distance. Everything at the lagoon was great.
Excellent experience at the Blue Lagoon! We loved it. Definitely would revisit! Be sure to go when in Iceland!
Trip from cruise terminal to bus terminal went well. Blue Lagoon was awesome. (Driving up it looked very industrial but lagoon was tucked in the lava rocks/hills). Return journey was 1hr 25min 5-6 stops (like a city bus) for bus 1 to bus station then 10 min wait then 15 min to cruise terminal (1:45 min) travel time. This was not advertised but day before got messages alluding to multiple stops. Watch your on board time this could be very bad if you miss the ship. Cruise ship passengers beware.
Excellent time. Great fun, relaxing. I can imagine it is crowded in the high season. The cage was also wonderful. I was very confused about the buses to take. None of the busses had the logo I was looking for.
When you go to different countries and you really have a hard time finding pick up points, Viator is always with you! They create stress free travel always available for questions. The blue lagoon was fantastic!!!! I truly recommend it.
Not knowing what bus stop we should use to get on the bus, we went to the BSI bus lot and that worked great.
You don't need to book an excursion. You just need to book transport there and back as it is out of town. Allow 2 - 3hrs at the venue. Reykjavik Excursions was just transport. They provided no information, nor did they have a guide to greet us & explain what to expect. They just drove us via bus to the Lagoon.
Great experience! Simple and easy to book, transport was on time and instructions for return were clear! Had a wonderful time
If you don't bring a waterproof bag to take pictures while you're walking around the lagoon, the staff/lifeguards are happy to take your picture and set aside your phone on a dry ledge. There were no dry ledges in the shower stalls, but since there were attendants all around, one attendant recommended me to leave my phone in a nearby (dry) bench. For Cruisers in port for the day, the travel company does a great job picking up cruise passengers and bringing them to the central bus station where another bus will then take you to the Blue Lagoon. Return trips happen hourly (at 1:15 and 2:15) to get you back onto the ship.
The blue Lagoon was amazing but our tour that was booked with Reykjavik Excursions was the worst! We arrived early for our pickup and the bus was delayed over 25 min. Our admission was for 1:00 and we didn't even arrive until 2:10 then we were told that the return bus only ran every 2 hours! Therefore, we had to get the 4:30 bus back to get back to our ship on time. Paying $572 for a 1.5 hour experience was NOT worth the time or money. To make things worse, we requested a partial refund but were denied. Reykjavik Excursions is a huge establishment and is the worst for customer service. We had the same issue with an excursion with them the very next day. Viator needs to make sure they hire better sub contractors. No help from Viator either!
Relax and take your time. Enjoy the experience! Schedule a full day and don’t rush. I felt like it was not crowded with the appropriate amount of people enjoying the Blue Lagoon.
Be ready for the Instagram crowd and bring flip flops. Spring for the robes so you can sit comfortably between pool dips. Be careful with your phone (we saw at least one lady drop hers in the water). Skin felt amazing after the mud mask and mineral water. And ladies do NOT get your hair wet especially if it is color treated.
Thoroughly check pick up port location point and cover all possible areas as bus rank is huge as we arrived from our ship at 9.20 am asked to be on site from 9.30am for a 10am pickup checked with any and all Reykjavik excursions drivers for our bus to take us to the blue lagoon at 9.55am I phoned the contact number to be told that our driver had reported us as a no show along with another couple and gone without us !! HOW CAN THAT HAPPEN The agent on the phone managed to get us on another bus to the bus depot and onto the destination but it took a 10 min international phone call at around £30 and a tense delay to sort it out but I was grateful for his and the replacement drivers help to at least get to the lagoon but it meant we lost an hour of our time there as we needed to catch a 2.15pm bus back as there was no 3.15pm bus to correct our stay time to return to the ship for our next planned event The trip is pretty expensive but cheaper than using the cruise lines booking Certainly this aside the experience of the lagoon is a bucket list must much bigger than I expected and with some extra unexpected areas viewing sites relax areas steam rooms and quiet zones the water is lovely and warm like a huge hot tub in a dramatic setting of steam but could have liked an extra 30 or 40 mins would have been perfect timing The site is extremely well organised just need to take swim wear and flip flops everything else is provided the staff are excellent The return bus trip was great and as expected he arrived by 2pm and as should be expected didn't leave until 2.15pm precisely if only the experience going out was the same it would have been 5 stars We used viator in New York back in January and everything worked like clockwork and had hoped for the same efficient service where we had an excellent guide on board ot would have been nice to have some Iceland history and points of interest to look at and listen to but glad we made the trip in the end
I had a blast. If you want to take pictures you should have a water tight pouch for it. I met so many different people who all were very friendly.
This is very relaxing. Know the pick up times from the drop off point. There was no 1500 pick up time so we either had to leave after a short visit or stay longer than needed.
Clean change areas at Blue Lagoon with private shower & change options, nice lockers. Transportation was good- through Reykjavik Excursions. Thank you.
We had a wonderful experience. The tour company was so considerate and easy to work with. The blue lagoon was also an experience to remember.
Going to The Blue Lagoon was one of my favorite places. The staff there go above and beyond. They even have a greeter who will take your picture. Going in the Blue Lagoon is very relaxing! It feels great on ya skin!
The bus picked us up from our hotel and took us to the bus terminal where we boarded another bus which took us to the Blue Lagoon. We had a wonderful experience at the Blue Lagoon and recommend it highly. It should be noted that the return buses only run every 2 hours so plan your return trip carefully. We ended up waiting for about an hour in the small waiting area before a bus arrived. The return bus took us directly back to our hotel instead of to the bus terminal which was appreciated.
The lagoon itself was ok, even though it was a bit dirty with plastic cups floating around the pool and the changing rooms smelling off. Once you got to the quiet area it was quite enjoyable. Nevertheless, the bus transfer really took away from whatever pleasant experience was left. Extremely rude driver! She asked me for the ticket 4 times. I showed her all the tickets I received directly from the blue lagoon but she was not satisfied. At the end of the day I have only the tickets I was given which clearly state the date, transfer time and entrance time. The bus driver’s bullying was very inappropriate!
Place to be picked up. You can’t get a towel until after the bath but you can get a bath robe before bath. It makes a big difference if the traveller knows it so she gets an option to get the comfort or premium. Premium has bath robe, comfort only a towel.
Not to be missed. Immersive experience and definitely get the premium package which includes three facial treatments, a drink, and a bathrobe. The scenery is awe inspiring One of the highlights of the trip.
A not to be missed experience! Blue Lagoon was wonderful, staff was courteous and attentive, and facility was immaculate! Highly recommend
Was a very easy and smooth experience getting to the Blue Lagoon and it was definitely worth it! We liked this because they had transportation included and we could spend as much time as we want there
It was awesome and fun. The lagoon was so beautiful and refreshing. The locker rooms, bathrobes and towels were first class. If you fly into Reykjavik, I would go directly from the airport to Blue Lagoon. (Pack your swim stuff easily accessible.) The warm water will relax you after your long flight. There’s no sense in getting all the way into Reykjavik, then going all the way out to blue Lagoon, then all the way back to Reykjavik. It’s an hour each way. There are tours that will take you from the airport to Blue Lagoon. To get from the lagoon to your hotel, I know there are taxis, but maybe your tour takes you to your hotel too.
Try at least once in your life For us it was the second time and always awsome. Don't hesitate......
Fun experience to enjoy for a couple of hours. Some people take advantage of the spa options but we didn’t. The lockers are large, the robes are thick and comfortable and the water was warm and inviting!
The check in was good, but some of the inside where you change and prepare were a bit confusing. The overall experience in the water was great and we all had a good time.
My trouble is with Viator, not Blue Lagoon as I had no experience with Blue Lagoon. I had a flight to catch and booked my pickup and leave times to be at BL for just over 2 hours. Unfortunately, Viator never communicated to Reykjavík Excursions (bus company) my pickup location and my pick was delayed for nearly an hour. This cause me time at BL to be only 45 minutes. I spent more time in the locker room than in the pool! RE was very helpful in getting me the appropriate accomodations to BL once the error was found. They also offered to assist in getting my travel booked from BL to KEF airport, but I’d already booked my own transport after multiple communication attempts with Viator had been unsuccessful. I requested a 70% refund from Viator given the majority of the fault lays with their failures in communication with me and RE. They did provide me with 25%, to the fully fair. But the only service I feel I really received was a bus to BL, a drink, and a shower.
Although the description says the Premium Ticket includes "All Compfort Benefits" (which btw includes a non alcoholic drink) plus a bunch of other things, We were surprised when we checked out that the non alcoholic drink was not included and we were charged 2,052 kr or $16.66. Needless to say we were disappointed! The man said we would have to take it up with Viator. But BE AWARE! Other than that we had a great time...
Wonderful beginning to our Arctic adventure. Transportation was comfortable and efficient. Property was clean and all amenities were in good working order. This would have been a 5 star review had we not spent nearly an hour checking in. Very inefficient system and poor management oversight made for a disappointing first impression.
I was given a new meet up place but the url was not complete. Requested clarification and got a follow up after 12. Our bus left at 9. I figured it out, small port. Nice ride to the lagoon. Once we arrived we should of been told to get in the shorter, fadter line as a prearranged ticket, rather than the ticketed line The Blue Lagoon was so relaxing and the masks were fun to do. I did use conditioner prior to getting into the lagoon but i wanted to float. My hair needed a deep conditioning after the lagoon. Showering prior to putting on your bathing suit took patience. Overall a very woth while trip.
Beautiful! Great experience, with unexpected warmth…the setup of the facilities was done very well, and we never felt rushed.
