We had a terrific experience with Helga. We were picked up at our cruise ship, did a tour the highlights of Reykjavik, had a great time at the Blue Lagoon, and were dropped off at KEF for our flight home. A perfect final day in Iceland!

The Blue Lagoon is one of the best natural spas in the world. The history of the Blue Lagoon can be traced back to 1976 when a reservoir was formed in Svartsengi from the work of the Geothermal Power Plant Svartsengi. Since then the Blue Lagoon has become one of world´s most famous baths and spas in the world! We provide: Everything included, except lunch/dinner. You bring: Swimsuit. The facilities at the Blue lagoon are great. we were worried we would be cold when getting from the dressing area to the thermal pools, but the thermal pools come into the building so you never have to be cold. the masks made our skin feel great and the pools are huge so despite many people it didn’t feel crowded. We visited July 30 and they are expanding so if you visit later it may even get better. It is a must do activity in Iceland. Our guide Helga was fantastic, great info and great personality.
How enjoying was getting to know the country and learning and experiencing the culture and history in this unique private one on one guided tour.
We did this activity on our first day in Reykjavik. We had a private tour with Travelling Iceland. We were picked up from the airport by Helga & was transported right away to Blue Lagoon. We were checked in at BL efficiently as soon as it opened at 9 am. We had an amazing time at BL till noon time & we were picked up after our lunch by Addy, our tour guide & transport for the City tour. In the afternoon, We went right away to Reykjavik City. First, went to PERLAN Museum and had a 360 degree view of the City of Reykjavik from the platform. We had enough time to check out the exhibits without feeling rushed. We drove around city and we were able to go to all the “must see places” in Reykjavik. We also had ample time to take pictures in all the lovely city sites & landmarks. This is a customized and comprehensive tour and very organized as well. We ended the tour by having a dinner in a traditional Icelandic restaurant per our request & guide’s recommendation. The whole day activity was comprehensive & we were happy that we’re able to attain our Iceland travel goals without wasting any time. I highly recommend this activity & the company Travelling Iceland for the Blue Lagoon & Reykjavik City Tour. We also love the water tumblers, chocolates & post cards the company Travelling Iceland gave us as a welcome gift! ❤️
Helga is such a warm and open person that really cares about your experience! She will show you some corners of Reykjavik that are out of walking distance which was great. But more importantly it feels you are going there with a good friend who tells you stories and provides you with guidance. When going to the Blue Lagoon, this is the way you want to go! Absolutely worth it.
Had a great day with Helga. Loved the Blue Lagoon and then discovering Reykjavik! Helga was extremely knowledgeable and we enjoyed a relaxed day of of discovery.
We did both the Blue Lagoon tour and the Volcano one. Both were excellent but doing the volcano hike with Helga was really great. She is a geologist and it's not every day you get to go see an active volcano with a geologist!
During my trip to Iceland I was uncertain if I would visit the blue lagoon but the Icelandic people I encountered convinced me it was worth it. Even with this last minute change, my guide Helga was able to find a way to make it work and get me on the tour. This act of kindness and creatively working with you are characteristic of both Helga and her tours. I ended up taking another tour with her to explore the Reykjanes volcano and again she surpassed my expectations both as person and in the variety and depth of knowledge she has in all things Icelandic geology. Without question you should book a tour with Helga, she will ensure that your experience in Iceland exceeds expectation and that you will make a friend in Iceland who will be eager to see you again upon your return.
Best tour ever! Helga (the tour guide) is AMAZING. She educated us on a lot of Icelandic history while touring us around Reykjavik. The Blue Lagoon is a must see.
Thank you Helga for such a fun experience! We had our Blue Lagoon and Reykjavik tour in March of 2019 and we still think about how amazing the experience was. Helga was very knowledgeable and drove us around telling us about the city. She also brought us to the Blue Lagoon and dropped us back off. It was easy, convenient and affordable. We would do every tour with her if we could! We can’t wait until we can come back to Iceland !!!
We booked this tour based on previous Trip Advisor reviews. We weren't disappointed. I visited Iceland with my teenage daughter for just 3 nights. This was one of the highlights of the trip. Helga was a great tour guide who was very informative and made the tour very interesting. It was a good mixture of sights and history and relaxation in the lagoon. I would definitely recommend this tour to anyone.
Great way to relax, and let the warm water take those aches and pains away, while having a beer and a chat 😁
The premium package is worth every dime and is very affordable. It comes with a fluffy robe, sleepers, face mask and a drink. I truly enjoyed this purchase. Helga our tour guide knows all about her country, very kind and patient, I can’t wait to come back in the summer to take those hiking experiences with my family; beautiful country indeed! Helga you’re the best, thank you.
Even though there was just two of us. I enjoyed the tour and then the trip to the blue lagoon was a nice end to it
The tour was well organized by our host Helga. She was extremely informative and always willing. The blue lagoon has to be visited to get a real feel experience and this tour fulfills that. Definitely recommended.
We only had a couple of days to spend in Iceland and were so thankful to have our guide, Groa, show us around Reykjavík. It was then such a relief to arrive at the Blue Lagoon and be led to the front of the line. Our family recommends this tour 100%!
Stone was our guide and absolutely terrific! Rejkavik Penninsula was the highlight of our trip! Had no idea how beautiful the scenery would be!
You absolutely cannot miss this experience. May be possibly the highlight of my trip to Iceland. You can swim up to the facial bars, get a facial mask, swim around to the drink bars for you choice of drinks, then wash you face in this warm, mineral rich water. Your body will feel amazing after this experience. Absolutely loved it!!
It seems that the majority of tourists visit the Blue Lagoon while on their way to, or from, the airport. This is because the lagoon is very close to the airport, while being a 40 min drive from the hotels in Reykjavik. However, this is not an ideal way to visit the world-famous BL. It deserves to be more than a stop between airport and hotel. It is a magical place of milky-blue geothermal waters with other-worldly rising steam, surrounded by a spectacular Icelandic landscape. (There is even a swim-up bar—one free drink!) I have traveled to many countries and experienced many adventures, but when I stepped at dusk into the hot, rejuvenating waters of the ethereal BL and bobbed around in delight, I said to myself “I can’t believe this!" So, to experience the BL right after, or before, a long and stressful plane flight is not to do the place justice. The BL has to be savored—peacefully and reflectively—in a time slot of its own. Thus, Travelling Iceland’s roundtrip tour to the BL from Reykjavik is perfect. For us, the tour was also great for another reason: while we had taken 1-2 day tours from our Reykjavik hotel to a number of wonderful destinations around Iceland, we had little knowledge of Reykjavik itself, and no idea how to explore it! Hence the fact that the BL tour is combined with a tour introducing the highlights of this capital city was invaluable. There were stops at: Hallgrimskirkja (Iceland’s biggest church with amazing modern architecture and 360 degree views of ocean/mountains); the famous Sun Voyager dream boat sculpture (my fav) on the sea front; the Harpa Concert Hall in the old harbor with its amazing glass front; Perlan on the hilltop; and importantly, the modest building on the waterfront, Hofdi House, where Reagan and Gorbachev met in 1986 at the Reykjavik Summit and initiated the first step towards ending the Cold War. All these stops were relatively short ones, but once oriented to the city, you can always go back on your own another time for more exploration. Also interesting were the government buildings, and the drive to BL along the coast with the small towns and endless lava fields. [Do note that this tour’s price includes the cost of the BL admission ticket + RT transportation from Reykjavik to BL.] Our guide Helga was a delight. Ours was a small group (no mass tourism here), and we were able to have lots of fun and great discussions. It felt as if we were traveling with a good friend. Interesting stories were told and shared. Questions were asked and answered. Helga is accommodating and patient, and so sweet. (She even drove back to Reykjavik the next day to return an item to us that had been inadvertently left in her car.) She is also very knowledgeable—who wouldn't jump at the chance to tour the wonders of Iceland with a Ph.D. geologist?!!! A lovely person to take a tour with. We had a fantastic time.
Helga is an awesome tour guide. She is very accommodating and so kind. The Blue Lagoon was wonderful and relaxing!
Was an amazing experience, Helga, our guide, was very friendly and kind. She gave us a private tour around Reykjavik, with stops at the points of interest in the city. Blue Lagoon is a wonderfull place. Thank you Helga.
We loved our experience on this tour. Our guide, Helga was fabulous! She was very kind and helpful, she gave us a private tour and told us about the main points of interest in the city.
We chose this trip to see some of the sights of Reyjavik and go to the Blue Lagoon. We were picked up by the Guide in a Toyota Land Cruiser, expecting to be taken to a Coach Terminal to change onto a large coach. We were supprised that there were only five of us on the trip, which was great. The guide was great, spoke several languages, but we all conversed in English. The tour was very friendly and personal, being such a small group. We had a couple of hours in the Blue Lagoon, which included a drink and face pack. On the return journey, we had a slight detour to see the Viking village, which wasn't on the itinery.
Was so happy with this tour and our tour guide Addy. We had a fantastic and fun time. The lagoon was all and more than we hoped for. It was so beautiful.
Having given a review earlier I forgot to mention the Greeters at Blue Lagoon. As we were leaving the lagoon two young ladies perched on a wooden structure and warmly wrapped up introduced themselves as greeters who were there to help the visitors. We asked about getting our camera to record our experience at the lagoon and they offered to take a photograph and email it to us, which they have done. Wonderful customer relationship, typical of Iceland.
Poor tour of Reykjavík. Didn’t see much and little explanation. Guide seemed more interested in picking up her daughter. Guide did not even know we had tickets to the Blue Lagoon and almost drove off before getting them for us. I have done other Viator tours which were good, but would definitely not recommend this one.
The operator drove through Sun Voyager without stopping at described on Viator 5min stop. I told him he supposed to stop, but he refused. Again, he didn't stop at Harpa , should be 15 minutes stop. He drove very fast and didn't slow down for curves, I sat at back seat, very uncomfortable and had severe back pain at the end of the tour.
Helga was a wonderful tour guide around Reykjavik and to the Blue Lagoon. We enjoyed learning about Iceland's history as we toured the city. The Blue Lagoon is such a unique experience, relaxing in a thermal heated pool that warms you bones right through and the free silica mask made your face feel so smooth and soft. Included in your admission is a beverage which you can enjoy while you relax in the warm thermal pool. You can even grab a snack or meal while you are there.
My wife and I were pleasantly surprised when we were picked up ON TIME at our dock to find we were the only couple booked for the tour. We have been cancelled in the past by others when there weren't enough tourists...Not with Travelling Iceland! Our guide was friendly, knowledgeable and patient with us as we asked so many questions about the beautiful country, customs and customs. such a delight, such a great tour...would book again in a heartbeat!
Helga was an excellent guide who showed us the sights of Reykjavík and the Blue Lagoon. We enjoyed her history and the wonderful spa. Highly recommend this tour.
They didn’t cancel the tour even we are the only ones. The tour guy Stone was friendly and patient with our ignorance about Iceland. I’d recommend it.
My friend and I spent 5 days visiting Iceland and by far one of our best experiences was our outing to the Blue Lagoon. We were stunned by the idyllic beauty and surroundings in general but the actual experience was beyond our expectations, like nothing we had ever seen before...magical is the first word that comes to mind. Our tour guide, Helga, was very knowledgable and super personable making both the city tour and Blue Lagoon talking points of our fun trip. Thank you Helga for making us feel like were one of the locals, even if just for the day! We had a wonderful time and you were a big part of that! :)
The tour was so amazing with Helga! She taught us a lot about some of Reykjavík architecture and and the city also gave us some history about Iceland. She was funny and fun and very friendly! And the blue lagoon was simply amazing! I would def. do this tour again if we come back :)
We did a trip to Iceland during this Christmas and New Year holiday season. As the suitable time slot after Christmas day was not available for the family, we have taken this guided tour. The tour covered most of sight seeing points within the capital city and sent us to the lagoon in the afternoon. We did enjoy almost 3-4 hours in the pool and this lagoon is the best thermal pool we have ever been so far. The guide and driver is sharing us a lot of knowledge about the Iceland on the way. Worth another visit in the future.
This is a wonderful experience. We had a full day of touring geysers, waterfalls, tectonic plates and volcanos. We loved them all, but were cold and tired and it was so amazing to finish the day at the Blue Lagoon. We especially liked being there at night when the steam and dusk made it so ethereal, and the crowds were gone. I recommend this 100%. Ladies, please follow their instructions to put your hair up. I didn't and ended up with pretty messed up hair for several days.
Beautiful experience, I would say once in a lifetime; hot water that envelops you, large space even when there are a lot of people.
This was all I had dreamed of. Going out in the blue lagoon was completely magical, almost a little trolsk atmosphere 😀 with face mask and drink in the bar, this became one of my finest memories from the Island trip. Little queue and nice service.
A perfect afternoon with a tour of Reykjavik and subsequent bathing in the Blue Lagoon. You could upgrade your comfort ticket to premium on site if you wanted, or just rent a bathrobe. Our guide Helga offered herself and offered to stop by the famous hot dog stand when we got back to Reykjavik, as one of the guests had not found it. Everyone in the party was craving sausages and bread and it ended a great evening!
Beautiful place, a bit 'too busy, and also a pelino expensive .. beautiful landscape to take your breath away.
The pleasure of diving in the warm waters of the lagoon with temperatures - 6aC is absolutely unique. The fog of hot water steam turns this place into a surreal place.
