My husband and I took a 6-day Arctic Adventures tour with a small group of 16 people—visiting many of Iceland's most iconic sites—followed immediately by a second, 3-day Arctic Adventures tour through the wild Westfjords. Both tours were wonderful, featuring numerous excursions and stopping at locations of indescribable beauty. However, what really made the difference were our two driver-guides: knowledgeable, reliable, and full of stories—including personal anecdotes. On the first tour, we were accompanied by Jacob Falur, an expert and cultured guide. Thanks to his engaging storytelling, we learned a great deal about Icelandic history and the local way of life. On the second tour, we were accompanied by the exuberant Magnum Dan—kind and attentive—who shared the history and legends associated with the places we visited. I highly recommend the Arctic Adventures experience.

Amazing your, well paced all the places we stayed were comfortable. We had Arny as a tour guide and she was amazing.
Elka Is the name of the tour guía, she was terrible. She always wanted to get to the hotel quickly, it didn't give us any time to see or take pictures and it didn't explain anything relevant either. We had a problem with an extra activity and we arrived 15 minutes late and she was super rude asking us to apologize to the whole group, she was very rude, when on other occasions some colleagues also arrived late, she just wanted to finish the tour quickly to go to sleep. They should have younger guides with more energy because we are paying a lot for a service. The tour was great 😀 the route or hotels but the guide didn't
This holiday far exceeded my expectations. There were some truly breathtaking experiences and everything ran very smoothly. I especially loved the farm stays. Our guide, Thor, was excellent. I enjoyed his calm, understated manner and his story telling and infectious laugh.
The tour was great. Fantastic scenery. They could do a better job telling you about some of the hiking to see waterfalls. The website is ok until you want to change something. The company responds very slowly or not at all to requests for changes or questions. I had to make a phone call to sort things out. Our guide John was good and we enjoyed the trip. One stop they could improve is the wilderness center. Was a little rustic.
What an amazing trip! Our guide Lily was wonderful. We did the 7 day tour and it was great. I do wish it had been longer. It was so beautiful, and the others we met on our tour made it even more special.
Great tour because of our amazing guide. Company changed tour plans through out our trip & he managed to still give us a great tour.
The 7 day tour allowed us to experience the whole island and it was so worth it! I’m sure I would’ve been happy with the 6 day tour as well, but seeing kirkjufell and snaefelsness the last day was so fun too! Adolf was the best tour guide!! He really went out of his way to make sure we got to see what we most wanted to see and was super nice and kept us laughing. I definitely recommend doing the adventure package because the glacier hike was my favorite!!
To start, I will clarify that I only participated in the first day of the seven day trip. I unfortunately had to discontinue the tour due to personal circumstances. I greatly appreciate the customer care team at Arctic Adventure for promptly arranging for us to join a different tour heading back to Reykjavik at no additional cost to us. With the remoteness of Iceland, any other option would have been very expensive. They were also very friendly and understanding through the process, so full marks and our thanks on handling our abnormal situation. Now, from my limited experience on the tour, I was just “whelmed”. The tour guide gave commentary, but otherwise wasn’t personable or engaging. The best way to describe it is that the tour had a mass produced feel that I would expect in a day trip but not a week long trip. I booked this tour hoping for it to be less stressful than a self drive tour but I fear this wouldn’t have been the case as the first day began at 8 am and we didn't reach our hotel at 8 pm. Perhaps other days would be shorter, but I can’t say. I hope to book a redemption trip to Iceland in the future and will likely be going the self driving route next time.
This tour is a combo of six day ring tour plus one day Snaefellsnes peninsula tour.Booking was easy directly with the operator. Price was also good with excellent cancellation policy (24 hour only). It was a 6 day tour and some days were better and planned better than others. The hot water spring definitely needs more time than allotted 2 hours. Whale watching was ok. Hiking on the glacier was really good. We saw plenty of water falls. The local guide for six day tour (Oskar from Iceland) could be better. He was quite rigid in his planning and does not like feedbacks. Also has little understanding of ever changing needs of the people and also has some difficulty with accent at times. But the guide for one day peninsula tour (Aneka, polish lady) was excellent and very considerate, understanding, good accent and quite knowledgeable (even though not local) Some of the hotel rooms have limited ventilation and can be quite hot due to no AC, no ventilation.
We had the most fantastic experience with a fabulous guide. Nick Reeves is the real deal. He’s very knowledgeable. He gets you where you’re supposed be on time and he becomes a part of the group which is fantastic. It was a great trip all the way around thanks Nick formaking it so memorable.
Guided tour in a minibus with about 15-16 people. Our tour guide Sigi was just awesome. He was fluent in English with great sense of humor, which made everyone smile everyday. We learned from him a lot about history of Iceland and nordic countries. We largely had good weather all along.
This was simply the trip of a lifetime... it felt like being in a playground. Our guide Siggy was superb in terms of professionalism, knowledge and attitude. I loved his briefs about the different aspects of Iceland. He was always very nice and approachable despite days of particularly heavy workload. He was also really good at giving us the right amount of info to reduce uncertainty about what to expect and immediate next steps. We were very lucky with our group, as it just enhanced the experience, creating a great atmosphere. We were 17 and it felt like the right crowd size. Artic Adventures and us were all doing our part and I felt very well taken care of all along. Delivery was consistent to what was offered. This is best for people who genuinely love nature, as the discomfort of weather related stuff is simply annihilated by the excitement of the wonders you get to see, feel and enjoy regardless of rain or sunshine. Interestingly, the weather is part of the magic of this amazing place as you end up missing that rawness, that power... it just makes you feel more alive. Just make sure you bring the right clothes so that nothing gets on the way of enjoying every second :))))
Very beautiful country and lot of memorable sights. The first 2 days were packed- a lot to see in a short time. Most sights were unique. However, the number of waterfalls we visited was too many. Maybe include 3 only- the one in golden triangle, tallest and widest. Our guide was very helpful, friendly, patient, polite and kind.
New minibus, good standard of hotels, helpful and knowledgable guide
Great tour showing us many aspects of Iceland. Geology, cultured and food. Tour guide Zak was excellent, very informative, interesting, enthusiastic, and fun.
Wonderful, comprehensive tour around Iceland with a fantastic guide! Glaciers, geysers, horses, whales, volcanoes, lava fields, history, food, and waterfalls galore! Expect to get some exercise hiking around. Great group of 15 total who all got along. Pack efficiently, there is only so much room in the bus, and it may not be timely to have the trailer opened to get to your luggage. Be ready for weather changes from stop to stop. Ask questions about what to have handy for the next day so you can be prepared. The guides will recommend food to have at the stops, all delicious, but if you are on a budget ask about options as there may be prepackaged items rather than the buffet. Icelandic prices are surprising! Lastly, If you go in the summer, get used to going to sleep even if it’s still light out…midnight can look like midday.
very nice experience! Unforgettable memories!
Vic picked us up and a great tour ensued. We had 12 others on the tour making it personal and interesting. Vic was amazing. His knowledge, folklore stories kept us entertained the whole trip. He knew more about the island, personal experiences and history made this one our best trips ever. He guided us to the best restaurants, encouraged us to try different foods, lamb stew was always a favorite. But there were veggie options too. He was very attentive to folks needs. Bathroom breaks, grocery stores, even wine stores! No questions were too basic for him to answer. He shared personal stories about his grandparents and family. He made us love him by day 2! He had a story about every place we visited. Would recommend him as a guide hands down. Vic would also inform us of the next steps and next days activities. We were apprehensive about taking a group tour. Well….the best decision we ever made. Bonnie & Kristy Friends for 20 years.
The tour was packed with wonders of nature with Glacier walk and Glacier Lagoon definitely being the highlights. Seen endless waterfalls and nature is still intact especially considering the wild nature and damage caused by eruptions over time. Negative points (1) traveling from East coast the West has lots of driving with no particular interesting spots (2) speakers in van had an issue that did not allow us fully appreciate drivers explanations and (3) last hotel was moved to Reykjavik adding 2 hours extra driving instead of sourcing a closer hotel
This tour was fabulous! We enjoyed 7 days of majestic sites: tectonic plates, waterfalls, geysers, glaciers, black sand beaches, lava fields, calderas, and young forests. We experienced a whale watch, a forest lagoon, an icelandic horse farm visit, a glacier hike and saw puffins at their nesting site. Our tour guide, Karl, kept us entertained with Island history, folk tales, geology, and cultural traditions. He showed incredible knowledge about the places we visited, points of interest, accommodations and local restaurants. It didn't take long for our group of 18 to become a community as we shared our stories and photos. I would highly recommend this tour!
This was the best organized trip I have even been to! The group was amazing, people clicked very well and probably it was thanks to our tour guide Karl who made everyone feel very comfortable and important. He showed us amazing places, gave us so much fun and interesting information, helped us connect with each other and feel very comfortable during bus travel, and in hotels, and during walks and hikes. Iceland is breathtaking and incredible: there was a great balance of travels and sightseeing. There were choices for people with different physical abilities, possibilities for longer hikes and shorter sightseeing options. I can truly recommend Arctic Adventures, and if you will be lucky enough to get Karl as your tour guide, you will be in the best hands!
Incredible trip around the island! All stops had beautiful scenery!! Our guide Sigurdur H. was very knowledgeable and was very helpful whenever we had questions! The 7 day tour was incredible and we got some unique and new sites on the added seventh day. It was a perfectly small group of 11 people on our bus. We booked this for our honeymoon and it was a perfect mix of adventure and relaxation! Our favorite activity was the glacier hike :) We had great luck with weather and had a blast as we traveled the ring road. Siggi made sure that we had everything we needed the whole time and took great care of us! 10/10 experience. The only complaint we had was dinners were expensive, limited menu, and not included with the tour price but other than that we had an excellent time!
Trip of a lifetime. Our guide Karl set a tone of friendliness and joviality that made our diverse group really gel. He was incredibly knowledgeable about the geography and geology we saw. When there were options, he always picked great choices for spending our time. I feel like I really got to see Iceland and enjoy beautiful hikes and adventures into a beautiful country.
Iceland is stunning, and a good guide makes a huge difference, our guide Björn was excellent. He was friendly, funny, and shared lots of interesting local stories and insights throughout the trip. His positive energy and charming personality made the journey even more enjoyable and added to the beauty of Iceland.
This is a 6-day tour plus a day tour on the 7th day. Our guide and driver Ronan during the 6-day tour is very knowledgeable and told many interesting stories about the sightseeing points we stop by. The only downside is the limited time per stop in the Golden Circle on the first day. Perhaps it would be a better experience if it was spanned across two days instead. But overall, I had a great time and want to thank Ronan for taking care of us! The accommodation is usually basic with no laundry facilities, so be prepared to do your own laundry if you're on a long Europe trip. Also, we usually have dinner at the hotel restaurant where choices are quite limited. Would be better if we have dinner at a bar/restaurant where feasible.
The 7-day tour is composed of a 6-day ring tour and a 1-day tour to the Snaefellsness from Reykjavik. We had the amazing Hilmar as our guide for 6 days, who in my opinion, is the best guide you could ever have! Hilmar is friendly, helpful, and fill you in with the history and fun mythology of Iceland to the right extend - appropriately without bombarding you. Hilmar also went the extra mile and drove us to Borgarfjarðarhöfn for us to see the puffins and the Hengifoss (additional spots), which we all absolutely love and enjoy! This tour is fantastic for those who love the nature and hiking. Our group (of 3 ppl) is the only ones joining the 7th day separate day tour. We got another guide who is too enthusiastic and talks non-stop, quite the opposite of Hilmar. The group is hugh and have to squeeze in a small van; it was also very rushed with a lot of stops. This day is very exhausting and frankly not enjoyable. We would recommend blending certain spots from the 7th day into the 6th day (which actually ends early at Reykjavik at around 4pm). Conclusion is that we would definitely recommend the six day ring tour (a life changing experience!), but perhaps not the 1-day tour to Snaefullsnes.
Loved the scenery and the experience, all helped by having such a knowledgeable guide/driver (Seggie). Not sure of the spelling of his name. We were a small group of 8, and all bonded well on the trip. I think that group size was typical for the time of year that we booked. The hot spring bath was a highlight, but not the only one. On reflection, the 6-day trip would have been adequate. The 7th day was a repeat of some of the earlier experiences. Having more time to explore Reykjavik would have been beneficial.
Despite unpredictable weather, my 7 - day adventure was incredible. Our guide, Òskar F., went above and beyond to ensure we experienced the soul of Iceland. His enthusiasm and dedication turned every detour into a discovery. We were lucky enough to catch the Northern Lights on one fair night - breathtaking, even through the thin clouds. When whale watching and Snæfellsnes got canceled, Artic Adventures stepped-up and reimbursed us for the inconvenience.
I was on a 7-day Complete Iceland Tour (aka Around Iceland Adventure) in mid-January 2026 as a solo traveller, spending 6 days with Vignir (Vik to us!) as guide/driver for myself and the 6 others on the same tour. Vignir was fantastic - very experienced with the route and locations, and very keen to share his vast local knowledge about all things Iceland. He went out of his way to ensure we all enjoyed the tour and was very accommodating to make unplanned stops (e.g., bathrooms, pharmacies) in addition to the planned stops. The one-day Snaefellsnes & Kirkjufell Small Group Tour was the last day, with a different guide/driver, and was jam-packed in terms of minibus capacity and sights. I highly recommend Arctic Adventures overall and hope you get lucky and have Vignir as the guide for your tour!
Very good, very well organised. We had a small group of seven for 6 days, the last day we were sent to a day tour group.
Our tour guide, Oskar Freyr, was very good. He helped us bond as a group and was warm, informative and open, as well as witty and funny. He did a great job of adapting the schedule when we had weather delays. He found excellent photo stop opportunities for us and shared lots of history to help us understand what we were seeing. He shared stories from his growing up and living in Iceland which gave us a great feeling for the country. He was also very accommodating, adapting the schedule where possible for our interests, and he brought personal experiences like arranging traditional foods for us to taste. The scenery along the route was spectacular with black basalt mountains and white snow everywhere. Almost every view out the bus window seemed photo-worthy. At the end of the tour, we were all sad that our time with Oskar was over. I would thoroughly recommend him to anyone doing a tour in Iceland.
I did not want to drive the ringroad alone in winter. So, I choose to take this tour instead as a made good experience with this tour company in the pastphamt. An amazing knowledgeable local Icelandic tour guide and a phantastic group of fellow travelers. We could not do the whale watching tour due to bad weather and were snowed in in Akureyri for half a day but the tour was amazing.
The driver Vignir is pretty professional and friendly. I highly recommend the 7-day complete tour in Iceland!
Had a great time! Travelling around Iceland has been an amazing experience. Small group of lovely people, Matt the guide is so knowledgeable and funny, and the accommodation was much better than I expected it to be! Absolutely would recommend.
Amazing trip, everything was incredible
Met our best tour guide :Christion, best of the guide that introduce everything to us!That's definitely not enough to visit only one time and the whole trip is not rush. You can enjoy a lot of things including walk on the glacier, whale watching and a lot of best views in your life!
The trip was made up of a 6-day trip and 1 extension day to Snaefellas. The first part of the trip which is the 6-day Golden Circle with Nic was incredible. He made us felt like we had a friend in Iceland that is bringing us around. The stories he share about Iceland's history, myths, legends, and even the current living standards allow us to really understand the country aside from the magnificent views and food. This add a lot of value to our tour and we would not have enjoyed Iceland as much if we were to self-drive. Nic, proudly from Scotland shares Iceland with us passionately and that passion he shows, further enhance our experience. The bus size was alright with 16 of us and a trailer for our luggage. There was also no hardsell or forced purchase at any of the giftshop. The food recommendation was one of the many things we enjoyed and allowed us to experience local cuisine at some high quality restaurant. We knew we had enjoyed the trip very much as we were feeling sad that we ended our time with Nic. The second part of the trip which is the Snaefella extension was abit milder, maybe from the high benchmark that Nic had pampered us with the last 6 days. We did get to see what we want to but other than that, there was nothing much even thought the other guide/driver was friendly. I would strongly recommend the tour with Nic over self-driving Iceland any day.
What a joy! Our guide was a pro on the trail as well as whipping up a feast nightly! With a slight chuckle he’d tease us with his pronunciation of the 16 syllable names of mountains with a wink
Best vacation! We got to experience everything from glaciers to volcanoes, beaches to smdrserts and everything in between. Comprehensive and immersive experiences. And I cannot say enough about our tour guide Diddi (Sigurdur Magnusson). He was just AMAZING. Such a knowledgeable and wonderful narrative about the history of the country and it's people. And his personal experiences and connections made it next level. Truly a joy to listen to and he made sure we got to experience the real food and people by taking us into some of the non-touristy areas as well. If you ever get to go to this beautiful country, this is the guy you need. Loved every minute
Diddi was a fantastic guide. My family got to see and experience so much of Iceland. It’s a packed tour with minimal down time. It’s a great option for families or solo travelers alike; however, I would not recommend for those who are not up for walking and hiking.
Arctic Adventures itinerary covered almost everything must see. Stays were off beat and very good. Would recommend
Matej was awesome! Incredible patient, full of knowledge and made our trip run smoothly and without issues! Highly recommend
I did all my Iceland tours with Arctic Adventures and would recommend them to everyone! Nick, our guide on days 1-6 was the best! He looked after us very well, catered to everyone's needs, ensured we knew when food and toilet stops were coming up. We even got to see puffins close up which we were so grateful for. Nick always offered to take photos for the solo travellers. The time we got to spend at stops was very reasonable. If I could give this tour 6 stars I would! Feedback for improvement - The 7-day complete tour is a combination of the 6-day + snaefellsnes day tour and it would be better to have the same guide the whole 7 days instead of separating them. I would have given the 7th day 3/5 stars due to a disorganised day (our group of 6 almost didn't get picked up by the new driver, they forgot someone's hired walking poles, missed a stop and had to circle back for 30mins, driver wasn't told that one of the locations was actually closed etc.) and miscommunications (we were told at start of the day that we would stop for lunch, then when enquired at 2:30pm were told that we needed to bring our own food and would not stop, despite the tour booking clearly listing a stop for lunch. "The driver doesn't eat so he forgets other people have to." We had to then argue with the guides about what was listed on the website so we were allowed to get takeaway food to eat on bus which was upsetting). This experience left us irritated and the rest of the stops felt extremely rushed. Perhaps just a lot of small mistakes - but I would skip the 7th day if I were to book again as it soured my enjoyment. But I couldn't drop any stars due to the TOP quality the first 6 days. Overall I would recommend the Arctic Adventures 6-day tour to everyone, I'm sure you'll get a fantastic guide. They're a very large tour company and for good reason, if you're a solo traveller you can't go wrong with choosing them.
The trip was great and the scenery was fantastic. The hotels selection was good except for the 2nd day stop. The mini bus was clean with WiFi and charging slots.
What a majestic experience. Other worldly! Our guide Matej was remarkable. Knowledgeable, kind and patient. The pace of the tour was perfect, and the varied activities made the time go too fast. And everyone one the tour is npw a new friend. I will recommend this tour to all of my family and friends.
Our guide Gunnar was terrific. Communication was clear and we stayed on time. He had lots of knowledge and shared fascinating things about Iceland's' history. The Waterfalls, glaciers, icebergs at Glacier Lagoon and Atlantic Puffins were among the highlights.
Iceland is amazing and Arctic Adventures provides the perfect tour. This company and its local guides and employees are clearly highly experienced and dedicated to a great tour. My guides, Throstur and Vjeran are the epitome of a perfect guide. They are professional, friendly, well-organized l, and above all, enthusiastic. They kept us on schedule but also made numerous unscheduled stops for photo opportunities and out of the way sites. They always place the customer first. The accommodations were great, ranging from modern hotels to an old farm with rustic rooms! They were all warm and very comfortable and added to the charm of the tour. The group size is small allowing for making friends and having plenty of room on the vans. The vans are new with WiFi and charging stations and BIG windows. I cannot recommend seeing Iceland and traveling with Icelandic Adventured more highly!!! 5/5 Stars!
Diddi was our guide. He's a respectful person, knowledgeable about his country and its history, a great storyteller, punctual, kind, responsible, and has a good sense of humor. He's also a very good driver. He made our experience on our first trip to Iceland completely live up to our expectations. I would definitely book a tour again, especially with Diddi as a guide. 100% recommended.
This is a trip to remember all your life!! Great experience. I took my son to celebrate his birthday, and he loved it. Every stop was amazing and guided by Diddi we could get the best of all the views and local food. The van is ok, hotel accommodation enough for a night, Iceland itself makes the rest and a plus is a group of friendly people sharing this adventure with you.
