If you are looking for memorable experiences mixed with mini-adventures, this is for you. The van was comfortable. The locations were a feast for the eyes. The driver (Ask for Alex as he was AMAZING!) was knowledgeable, personable, and a great driver. Simmply a great way to see so much of this part of the country in a short time.

Itinerary
Day 1
1
Your adventure begins with a convenient morning pickup from your accommodation or designated bus stop in Reykjavik. From there, you’ll set off with your guide to explore Iceland’s stunning natural wonders.
Your first stop is the remarkable Þingvellir National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site where Iceland’s history and geology intertwine. Walk between the drifting tectonic plates of North America and Eurasia, view the crystal-clear Silfra fissure, and explore the historic site of the world’s oldest parliament, Alþingi.
Next, you'll visit the Geysir Hot Spring Area, home to the famous Strokkur geyser. Watch in awe as it erupts every few minutes, shooting steaming hot water up to 20 meters (65 feet) into the air.
Last but certainly not least, you'll visit the powerful Gullfoss Waterfall, one of Iceland's most iconic natural wonders. Often called "the Golden Falls," Gullfoss plunges dramatically into a rugged canyon, creating an unforgettable display of raw natural beauty. Don’t forget your camera, this is a moment you’ll want to capture.
After completing the Golden Circle, you'll head south to your next stop, Seljalandsfoss. This stunning waterfall offers a rare opportunity to walk behind the cascading water for a truly immersive experience, giving you views from both the front and back of the falls.
Next, you'll visit the powerful Skógafoss waterfall, one of Iceland’s most iconic natural wonders. Plunging 32 meters from ancient sea cliffs, this breathtaking cascade is a favorite among photographers for its sheer force, dramatic mist, and frequent rainbows.
Your day concludes in the charming village of Vík í Mýrdal, where you'll settle into your accommodation surrounded by stunning coastal and mountain views. Depending on the itinerary, you may have a chance to stop by the local Wool Gallery, a cozy spot showcasing traditional Icelandic knitwear and handicrafts, perfect for browsing or picking up a unique souvenir.
Day 2
2
Your first stop is the striking black sand beach of Reynisfjara, known for its dramatic basalt columns and roaring Atlantic waves. Gaze out at the towering Reynisdrangar sea stacks rising from the ocean before continuing your adventure along Iceland’s stunning South Coast.
Next, you'll visit Jökulsárlón Glacier Lagoon, often called the crown jewel of Iceland’s South Coast. Marvel at the shimmering icebergs drifting across the crystal-clear waters and soak in the breathtaking glacial scenery that surrounds you.
Diamond Beach is a striking stretch of black sand on the Breiðamerkursandur glacial plain, located next to Jökulsárlón Glacier Lagoon on Iceland’s South Coast. Here, icebergs from the lagoon wash ashore, creating a stunning contrast against the dark sands. This dramatic landscape is a favorite spot for photographers, nature lovers, and wildlife enthusiasts. The beach is also home to many seals and is one of the best places in Iceland to spot orcas from the shore.
Day 3
3
Your third day begins with an exciting glacier hike on Vatnajökull, Europe’s largest glacier. Discover fascinating facts about Icelandic glaciers as you explore stunning natural ice formations, including sinkholes, crevasses, moulins, ridges, and intricate ice sculptures shaped by nature.
After your glacier hiking adventure, you’ll visit the famous Fjadrargljufur canyon, known for its stunning beauty and as the filming location for Justin Bieber’s “I’ll Show You” music video.
After visiting Fjadrargljufur, you’ll begin your journey back to Reykjavik. Your guide will drop you off at your hotel between 8:00 and 10:00 PM.
Day 4
4
After enjoying a delicious breakfast at your hotel, you will check out and prepare for your morning pickup. Then, get ready to embark on your Volcano Hiking tour at Geldingadalir.
After the hiking tour, you’ll be dropped back at your hotel, giving you some free time to explore Reykjavík at your own pace.
In the evening, you will be picked up for your Northern Lights tour. Around midnight, you’ll be dropped back in Reykjavík, marking the end of your tour.

This was so worth the money. The three day part of the tour was with tour guide Hjalti! He was great! I was pleasantly surprised with how nice the hotel accommodations were on this trip as well! The food at the hotel restaurant was better than any of the high end places i dined at in the city center. I had a spectacular trip and hit every hit destination as well as small local secrets as well. This was way better than driving yourself. There was also strong wifi on the bus and charging stations which was great. The only complaint was that my pick up location and hotel accommodations were not given to me in a timely manner. However i did reach out and the agency got back to me right away.
We had a really fun experience on this 4 day tour! We really enjoyed having Wendy’s expert driving in the ever changing Iceland weather. The small group setting was great to get know everyone on the tour. We had great adventures and would recommend!
Wendy was awesome! Amazing driver, guide and friend to be traveling with.
My trip to Iceland was truly unforgettable. I felt I was in another planet with dramatic landscapes, waterfalls, volcanoes, glacies, black-sand beaches and NORTHERN LIGHTS! I joined a group of 16 people. Hjalti was our guide for 4 days. He made our trip amazing! It is a once in lifetime scenery and experience. Weather was the only challenge I faced! It was too cold for someone who is too used to the weather in South-East Asia.
Lili was the best guide! We had an amazing time. This itinerary covered all the places I was hoping to see, we even got lucky for aurora. Lots of breaks for bathroom, buying snacks , lunch etc. Comfortable small bus. Highly recommend but be flexible!
We went on the 4 day trip and it was a bit expensive, but so glad we did. The guides were brilliant and so knowledgeable. From local customs, to showing how Iceland cope with volcanoes and earth tremors. To humorous stories about hanging out your bra and Elves and Trolls!! The only issue I had was the last day was very long. We got picked up at 8am for the volcano tour. Another brilliant tour that included a 10km hike, the guide was so informative and interesting. However we got dropped off at 6pm, to then be told we would be picked up again at 8pm for a 4 hour northern lights tour. After been up since 6am to pack and gave breakfast the thought of staying out till at least midnight was too much and we dropped out of the last part. Luckily we had already seen the lights. But an 18 hour tour day was a bit much. We recommend this tour to find out what a fascinating country Iceland is.
G was a great guide who was meticulous with managing the itinerary and time. We hit all the spots with clear instructions and some local insight into the attractions. He was knowledgable, helpful, and overall very friendly and personable with some dry humour sprinkled in like a true Icelandic local. I had an amazing time and would recommend this tour for anyone. The glacier hike by Yvor(sp?) was one to remember, and the team paid such great care in gearing us up, I felt safe every step of the very icy way. It was also highly informative and highlighted an urgent need to protect these sensitive reservoirs. Yvor was very helpful especially to the slower members of the group (me) and took some very professional photos of us! Though we did not manage to see the northern lights on this tour, the guide by Arctic Adventurous was very nice, warm and kind, staying outside in the bitter cold while we sought shelter in the bus for warmth. He did not give up till the end, and while i was disappointed, i was also touched by the care he took of us.
Our 4d3n land tour for our family of 6 (with 2 teenagers) was well-organized including online messages were promptly received within couple of hours with Arctic Adventures when we had queries. We left a little disappointed because we could not find the auroras during the northern night tour. Planners should leave a few days later because it could be rescheduled for the following day if the northern light hunt was unsuccessful. Iceland has nature at vast display. So many wows here and it is unforgettable. Some of our best memories are from Iceland. Thank you All.
I had a wonderful experience of 4 days of tour around the Golden Circle and the south coast of Iceland. This is my first time ever in Iceland but I think without a doubt that I chose the best tour operator, I want to thank the guides for their preparation, organization and sympathy. I recommend you to my friends and if I come back I will choose Artic Adventures again.
My boyfriend and I chose the 4-day Golden Circle, South Coast, Volcano hike and Northern lights tour with Arctic Adventures. The first 3 days was a tour with our amazing Arctic Adventures guide Kacper! Our tour began with us being picked up from our hotel in a minibus. Our group was 18 amazing people that we got to connect with on our trip! We then headed to Thingvellir National Park on day one. We got to see the Geysir and Gullfoss waterfall. We had plenty of time to explore the area and Kacper made several stops along the way on each day for bathroom breaks and niche bakeries and shops for us to have coffee and pastries. We stayed at the Adventure Geirland hotel on day one and two in a cozy cabin and Kacper booked an amazing dinner for us all for the nights. Day two we made several stops to see beautiful waterfalls and scenery! The stops along the was perfect because we truly got to see the Iceland lowlands. We then stopped at two lagoons and saw many many glaciers that really made you appreciate and admire the beauty of our planet and this beautiful country! Diamond beach was a sight but we didn’t not see the many diamonds you would see on the pictures but plenty was still around. Day three we did our glacier hike at Katla Ice Cave! Kacper was not our hiking guide here but he drove us near the transfer to an off-road jeep with an experienced glacier guide that provide us with chains for our boots and was very attentive during the walk to the glacier and inside the cave while giving us time to take pictures and admire the many layers of this glacier. We then made our way to black sand beach where we had some lunch and then to see the Rutshellir cave which was occupied by early settlers of Iceland! We then made our way back to Reykjavik where everyone was dropped off at their respective stops. Hotel Ísland Spa was our accommodation for the night before the Volcano hike and Northern lights tour. The Volcano hike was with a different company and guide and included exploring many volcanic fields but we did not get to see fresh lava or the active volcano - this was more of a walk in the fields and a stop to see blue lagoon. Our Northern Lights tour ended up being cancelled due to unfavorable weather conditions but we are able to get a refund for this. To end this review, our tour of South Iceland was an amazing adventure and we could not have been able to see the beauty of Iceland without our amazing tour guide Kacper! -Maneesha (who wrote this review) and Myron
It was great experience We enjoyed every moment in this trip What makes it more enjoyable and learning experience is our perfect and expert guide Bjorn Ingi Knutsson My wife who is not real adventurer enjoyed it as well because of the sites and areas chosen by Bjorn Our family w'd like to thank Arctic Adventures and Bjorn Ingi Knutsson we're looking forward for another visit to Iceland
My husband & I booked the 4 day Iceland tour and had an excellent time! We really lucked out because the weather was pretty rough for most of our trip (extreme winds and snow!), but our guide, Siggi, was able to navigate us out of Reykjavik & still showed us a wonderful time. He had to switch up some of the itinerary, but we felt so lucky to have an experienced native help us with this tour - we would not have been able to read road closures & weather & to pivot to other activities the way he did.
We had a fantastic experience with Arctic Adventures doing a small van tour around parts of Iceland during mid-April 2024. They were super helpful with pre-vacation questions, the tour guide was extremely informative but didn't talk non-stop, and we saw--and were able to appreciate--so much more than we would have been able to had we rented a car and drove all around. This was my first pre-planned multi-day tour, and I wondered if we would feel rushed at each stop. Not a bit. Plenty of time in each location, along with valuable info/context from our guide. When we return to Iceland--and that's a "when", not an "if"--we'll gladly book with Arctic Adventures again.
Kacper Wilk was our tour guide and made the experience what it was. He was positive, funny, adventurous, knowledgeable, friendly, outgoing, flexible, attentive, I can go on, but basically everything you would want in a tour guide. My wife and friends agreed that we were very lucky to have him as our lead. I would recommend this trip to anyone and everyone. The waterfalls, the glaciers, the ice caves, the beaches... Everything was breathtaking. Iceland is a beautiful and friendly country. I would encourage anyone to visit. My favorite part of this specific tour was diamond beach and the glacier hike. The blue ice caves and walks through the crevices were something I'll never forget.
Arctic Adventures was a wonderful tour company to work with. We don’t usually do tours to be on our own schedule but Iceland winter (and darkness) changed our minds this trip. I looked at lots of other operators and chose Arctic. They were amazing on communicating before the tour. I had several questions and got responses very quickly. Few days out, I called with questions and got super helpful answers immediately. Our 4 day tour is really like a 3 day and then 2 other tours the last day. That was fine though it does complicate logistics on the last day as you need to move hotels with your own reservation (for the last night after the Volcano hike) and don’t know your last hotel until a week or so out. G was our guide on the 3 day tour and he was amazing. We had a small group mini bus with lots of stops along the way. He talked to us about Iceland and explained lots about the scenery. Bus was very comfortable and G really made the trip! The glacier walk is definitely a highlight. One note - since it was winter the hotels and some stops were covered in ice and very treacherous. G had crampons for us - but those places didn’t really take care of paths ( this is not Arctics Fault, just something to be aware of). The last day Bus Travel Iceland does the Volcano hike. If you’re reasonably fit and hike often it’s a pretty easy hike with some steep sections, totally worth it to do! We got picked up after that hike by our Magical Aurora tour guide. Again very punctual and great service! We even got to see the Aurora. Overall, if you’re considering it…just book it.
We booked the four day trip a few months ago, with the understanding it would be split in two different two days tours. The day before we were due to leave for the first trip they cancelled the extra activities on the tour, the geothermal baths and the vulcano caves. They offered alternative single trips, which we accepted because we didn’t have time to select anything else for other companies. Because of this change, the pick-up locations were confused and we almost missed one of the tours. However, we did get a refund for the missed activities and the tour guides were really good plus Iceland was amazing! The main issue was with the communication and organisation that added stress to the holiday.
We had a multi-day tour booked and the country had shut down all travel due to inclement weather and this company still will not issue a refund. This is absolutely outrageous for a trip that is $1,500+ and there’s no “safe travel” in the area. Yet they had the audacity to ask us to cancel our reservation so they could get booking funds returned to them. Do not trust or support this money hungry, disrespectful company!
These guys are fun! We spent spent four days with our guides Grun and Nick on a tour bus. We’d star the day at 8am and get dropped to the hotel at 8pm. The exception was the Norther Lights tour e When the day ended past midnight. They took us for the Lava Cave tour, which they didn’t charge for. The highlight of the trip was snorkeling and scuba diving at Silfra, it’s out of this world. During the drive the guides were hilarious. They also spoke of the history and culture of Iceland. A special mention must be made of guide Grun, a lady from Norway, with 15,000 dives under her belt, which is close to almost 2 years underwater. She’s very cheerful and extremely hardworking. I’d highly recommend Arctic Adventures.
Pros: This review is for the 4 day Golden circle, south coast, volcano hike and northern lights tour via arctic adventures. Our Tour guide Sindre was excellent! He was fun, knowledgeable and full of facts. With this tour 4 day tour combo you have the chance to see the northern lights 3 of the 4 nights the way its structured. The hotels, and the sites selected to visit were great. The 4 day tour is a 3 day Plus a separate 1 day tour. Very reputable and good service levels (esp. when you are waiting to be picked up at your stop). The other families that joined this tour in a mercedes sprinter were also great (~18 person max. capacity). We saw amazing lights on our second night right out of our hotel and they were spectacular. Cons: The volcano tour is a bit hyped in the since that there is no erupting volcano ("only active volcano") but the brochures/pics would have you think you will see it Erupting. Very inflexible after you have booked. e.g. we didn't want to do the separate volcano tour but they would not swap it out for any other similar tour they were doing. Also leg room is cramped in the vehicle. Overall experience was great - but just pay attention to details before you book.
It was an awesome experience to go in winter. In our case, Marcin was the tour guide, and he was always polite, and he also got some nice ice-and-wind driving skills. We loved this tour, and if we return to Iceland, we will totally choose Artic Adventures again. Thanks!
I really enjoyed this tour. Martin was an excellent guide. He knew a lot about Iceland and the areas we traveled in and played some excellent podcasts during the bud rides. The accommodations were good and we were lucky enough to see the northern lights two nights in a row right outside our lodging. I recommend confirming as to the difficulty of the hikes. The glacier hike was difficult but well worth it.
Ronan was an amazing guide! Super friendly and knowledgeable! We had some extra time, so Ronan took us to some extra locations. We had an absolute blast!!!
The tour was just AMAZING!! The first 3 days (Golden Circle & South Coast) couldn't have been more perfect! Seal Pup (Ronan) is the best guide we could have had...funny, gentle and very informative, and Iceland is just stunning!! We were lucky enough to see the Northen Lights in the very first night, thanks to the offers to the Elves!! 🥰 The Volcano hike on the forth day was also really nice...I can not spell or say the name of the guide, but he was just awesome! Thanks Artic Adventures, everything was really great!! Our Northern Lights tour at the last night had to be cancelled due to weather conditions, but it was not a problem at all!! Fully reccommend!!
We booked a five day northern lights tour with Arctic, and we did not go out one night to see the northern lights between the bad weather and Iceland not being equipped to deal with snow, which we were shocked to find out about. When it snows they cancel everything. I know this is an arctic adventure’s fault, but the country cannot handle the tourism. Please be aware, even though they advertise it as a northern lights tour there is a high chance you will not see the northern lights and not be able to go out even of your hotel at night. Arctic adventures mostly use 3rd parties for their bookings. this was a bit annoying as half our trips got canceled due to bad weather and we had to get the number/email of the 3rd party to communicate. We had a lot of tours canceled due to bad weather, this happens a lot in Iceland and we didn't realize that. I feel like reviews don't mention this as much and apparently, this is very common in Iceland. Please take this into consideration when planning your trip. Out of our 14 days in Iceland 6 days were canceled due to storm/rain/bad weather. Including our flights from New York. This was the biggest disappointment, as we just sat in the hotel, with nothing to do, just waiting.
Recently completed a 4 day Golden Circle, South Coast and Volcano Hike. Our 3 days with Ronan as our guide were absolutely amazing. Ronan made our trip memorable and unforgettable - he was a mine of information, funny and approachable. We could not have asked for a better guide. I went on the tour with my sons (aged 21 years). We all agreed that this was the highlight of our holiday and that we would love to return to Iceland.
Honestly, I'm extremely disappointed. Friday November 18, 2022 I was scheduled to meet for pickup for my tour. My flight arrived on time and I cleared customs quickly. I had pre-arranged for transportation from Reykjavik Airport to 22 Hill Hotel and was told 45 min. In theory I should have arrived between 745am and 8am. At 850am the bus driver announced that road to Reykjavik was closed and that a detour was being taken. I contacted the tour company through a message online, which was only way thus far I had been contacted. I explained and asked for instructions. I got no response. At 1030am I arrived at 22 Hill Hotel and my phone reconnected and I received an email from tour company telling me I would miss my your. I emailed back and got no response. I tried calling but my phone would not connect and ring through. About 2pm I returned to hotel and checked for any messages which there were none. The woman at the hotel helped me and called Arctic Adventures and explained what happened and they wanted me to resend my email with ARC number on it. I did. I got a call from Arctic Adventures telling me what hotel the tour group was staying at. He told me to join the group. I said ok, not realizing the hotel was 260km away. There is no train system in Iceland and the woman from hotel where I was standing said that it would be difficult if not impossible finding a bus. A taxi or Uber would be a huge expense and they could even refuse. The woman at hotel called Arctic Adventures back and explained the distance. A man called me back and said he could put me on a 3 day tour the next day as I was flying out of Iceland on Tuesday November 22. So I agreed. He then canceled everything else with no other help or accommodation. I had to find hotel for Friday night and pay for that. I went on 3 day tour the next day without issue. Then Monday comes and the group is returning to Reykjavik mid-afternoon. Someone brings up northern lights tour and one of the girls messaged Arctic Adventures to change her tour from Tuesday the 22 to Monday the 21st. She got a response in about 15 minutes. So I messaged and asked if I could be accommodated on Monday as well since I was leaving Tues and would miss it. I didn't get a reply until the next day. As much as I spent on my entire booking, I think it would have been a good business move to not only allow me on the northern lights tour but to also cover the night at the hotel that I had to pay for last minute, after all, I did prepay for all of that. There was no way for me to predict a road closure in another country. It was circumstances beyond my control. I understand that the trip is not refundable, but being that I could not foresee the road closure and total lack of communication on the part of Arctic Adventures, I would have thought a little effort to help me salvage my lost tour would have gone a long way. As an Independent Travel Agent I will not be booking any clients through this group and I plan to share my unfortunate trip with my professional colleagues as well. As a customer and a female traveling solo in a foreign country, your lack of communication and empathy completely disappointed me and I will not be a repeat customer. This really could have been a positive experience for both me as a customer and a travel agent and you as a tour company.
The first three days of our tour were incredible! Oskar is the best guide ever - full of historical facts, amusing anecdotes and good fellowship! He juggled our stops to beat the rain at several locations and made room for bonus attractions - a small sod roofed church, a farm with hand-knit woolen goods and several Icelandic horses. He had great experience so could recommend the best places to see the sites. The mini-bus was comfortable with good wifi access, and our sleeping accommodations were delightful. Our glacier hike and ice cave visit got canceled because of weather, but Oskar was able to get us booked with another group the next morning and we had a beautiful ice cave all to ourselves! The only glitch was with the volcano hike on the fourth day. It had been contracted through another tour group and we received notice he day before that the times of the tour had changed and been extended. The new itinerary did not work for us. Arctic Adventures was helpful in canceling the hike and gave us a refund for that part of the tour. We loved Iceland. Our tour provided memories that will last forever - and thousands of photos to inflict on family and friends!
I loved this tour. Our guide Matthias was very knowledgeable and made the experience extremely fun and memorable. We were able to see a lot in 4 days and Matthias did everything he could to make adjustments to our itinerary when the weather shifted. I highly recommend arctic adventures and couldn’t have asked for a better experience.
Probably the worst tour guide I have ever encountered. Our tour guide (I think he call himself ford), never really show us anything or get us prepared for the next day or next stop. He is no difference than just a bus driver and his job was really easy as he only sat in a bus told us one to two stories. One of our group mate didn’t get their lunch and he didn’t even try to help until she demanded him to do so). None of our lunch or dinner was booked even though he knows when we are arriving. Overall, I think I would have a better time driving my own car and no need to rush to the next stop which we usually were not well informed. Last day we were sold to another bus tour with 60 people to the volcano hike and we felt cheated as ARtic said they are in small groups. Don’t join this tour.
Nick was amazing! Super informative, had a themed playlist for the drive, he knew the right timing so we could skip lines or get a better photo. This was an awesome trip if it is your first, second, or third trip to Iceland. Enough activity and well worth the value
My husbznd and I highly recommend Arctic Advanture.Very well organized. Very nice professional guide. Very beautiful scenery. Good food. Great group. Highly recommended
The 4-Day Iceland tour was exceptional. Very well organized and with comfort all along the way. I do recommend it.
My tour was a mix of a 3-Day Golden Circle and South Coast tour with Sindri and a 1-day tour with Thomas to do the volcano hike. The first tour was a group of 11 and we had a great time visiting all the sites and our accommodations were excellent. We were able to buy lunch and dinner during the tour days, but it’s good to have snacks in case you’re hungry. The volcano hike was challenging, but doable if you have the motivation! It was just a group of 4, so that made it nice to chat and go up gradually. Overall, as a first time solo traveler, Iceland is the best location. Arctic Adventures is very well organized and reliable. They provide everything you’d need information wise and you can purchase rain gear etc. beforehand, which is nice. I can’t wait to come back and visit this extraordinary place again!
Yelti was a fantastic guide for the 4 days. Excellent knowledge, caring and patient. Steppen for the glacier hike was safety focused and attentive. This is at a level of exertion so all fitness groups can make it. We had initial trouble changing nights for the lights to better suit conditions. However it was sorted in the end. The lights tour was rather basic. Brief trip on the outskirts of Reykjavik, saw the lights, got the pic and home. Im satisfied however I would have stayed out longer and gone further from external light. Not criticising the company. More an FYI for future travellers. Also its worth looking at the cloud and aurora predictions for multi-day to ensure a good night. Difficult if you have an itinerary for the following day obviously and getting enough sleep. Volcano tour, awesome day and the guide was very knowledgeable. Unfortunately missed his name. However, lovely and passionate man. More freedom to go at own pace. Summary: Yelti made the tour worth it!! Legend!
My husband and I just got back from our 4-Day tour and we loved it! Our guide, François, was fabulous- he gave us information but also gave us time to do our own thing within a reasonable time frame. I appreciated that our guide was cost conscious of the meals we did need to buy and gave us our options and ability to plan (such as stopping to let us buy lunch ahead of time instead of having us buy lunches at remote expensive locations. The only reason this is not a 5-star is that I'm not typically a tour person and with a tour you do miss out on flexibility to stop whenever you want- that said given the price of gas and a car rental this was a much more reasonable option to see many Iceland highlights without having to drive yourself. I would highly recommend this tour and was glad we booked this.
Our guide was great (Carl). He was flexible and when one of the sites was too crowded, he suggested that we come back to it a bit later do we could enjoy it more and take better pictures. There was a good mix of guidance and photo tips and then we would be free to visit the sites on our own. It was well paced and we didn't feel rushed. We couldn't see the Northern Lights on the last day and was rebooked for the next day (although the weather was still too cloudy). Great customer service and appreciate Arctic Adventures for trying their best to ensure our satisfaction. Will use this company again if we visit Iceland again!
We had an absolutely perfect time on this tour. Having a guide to pick us up, bring us to the best sight seeing spots (secret spots with fewer tourists!), point out all the sights you don’t want to miss as we drove, bring us to the best restaurants, etc. made our trip so effortless and enjoyable. Nick was our guide /CFO and he was amazing! He actually got out of the vehicle and went on the excursions with us, showing us all the best places to look and giving us all the geological and mythical history associated with the sights. He actually showed us where to hike through a river to a hidden waterfall and came with us with so that we could all get good photos. He cooked us two amazing meals while on our trip, making sure to accommodate everyone’s dietary restrictions. I have very strict dietary restrictions, and Nick was very very good about making sure I had plenty of options at dinner and lunch. We considered renting a car and driving to the golden circle highlights ourself, but I am so glad we went this route instead. Much less stressful! Just sit back and relax! We saw all the things that were in my list, and a few more that made it even better.
This was an absolutely unforgettable adventure! In my opinion, the best way to experience Iceland in the winter. Having Olie, our very skilled tour guide, navigate the terrible icy roads was reason enough to use this tour. We had a small group of 10 and each was a delight to spend a few days discovering Iceland with. The waterfalls, the geyser, the snow, the atmosphere, all of it was top notch. Our number one fave- the glacier hike with ice cave. ASTOUNDING. There was such a feeling of rare sacredness getting to hike along such a massive and beautiful feat of nature. Iceland is beautiful, rugged, violent, brutal and WILD. (all referring to nature, not the people- they are some of the kindest and friendliest people I've ever met!) We never did get to see the Northern Lights, which was definitely on the top of my list for what I wanted to see, but weather is unpredictable, and none of the 5 nights we were there did we spot them. Day 4 felt a little like a bust after the 3 amazing days with our group and Olie and the adventures we went on. Our volcano hike was canceled due to weather (we were looking forward to that) and instead we did a lava tunnel. Cool, just not what we were hoping and looking forward to. The guide, Beerga, was great, it was nothing on her, just the bad weather. Also due to weather, our northern lights tour that night was canceled, which was pretty disappointing since we were looking forward to that the most. Arctic Adventures did refund a portion of our tour amount for that cancellation, however. This was such a wonderful way to experience a beautiful wild place!
Nick reeves is the best tour guide!!! He really made our trip memorable and i feel like i gained many friends feom different countries and it was aweaome to do all the fun activities with a great group!!!!Pl! WILL BE USING THEM AGAIN 100%!!!!
A great tour for people wanting to explore the Golden Circle/Southern Coast. Our guide, Aron, made the experience so memorable with his vast knowledge and witty sense of humor. He went above and beyond to make our tour special and we so greatly appreciate it! Our favorite part of the tour was the glacier hike in Skaftafell. The views from the top were incredible! Our accommodation was a comfortable hotel close to all the major landmarks. It was nothing fancy, but the food was incredible. Unfortunately, the volcano hike and northern lights tour was cancelled on the last day due to weather, but we were ok with that! We were fortunate to see the lights on the first night of our tour. Overall, it was a great experience!
I really loved being in the care of our guides on the Arctic Adventure tour. The guides told stories about the culture, history and geological terrain. They were considerate and made sure we have a variety of stops at the multitude of locations.
A brief comment on Arctic Adventures is Whole Staff Professional. A word of mouth recommendation by my friend, and will definitely recommend to my friend also in the future. Special thanks to our guide Vjeran who is very much professional, reliable and enthusiasm to accompany with us for a safe, smooth, cheerful trip, a very preciously memory even in the tough weather that week. Our another guide Fridthjofur Johnson is also a charming senior gentleman who is also very professional to guide us successfully found the Northern Light, also teach us how the observe, and take us good pic. Wonderful trip with our professional and reliable tour operator Arctic Adventures.
This was an amazing three day tour which was made even better by our wonderful tour guide, Vjeran. We got to see some amazing parts of Iceland that we would just never have been able to visit if we had rented our own car due to the unpredictable Icelandic weather! Despite there being storms and tricky weather, he did his best to get us to see as much as we could. Throughout the drives, Vjeran would talk through the landscape and history of what we were going to visit. We also listened to some Icelandic music which was a great background to the beautiful landscape. He was also a fantastic photographer, regularly lying on the floor to get the best shot of us with the waterfall behind! The hotels we stayed in were lovely and had a brilliant selection of food which I was worried about before I came because I am vegan. The schedule was a really good pace so we had time to rest in the hotel and on journeys but also had lots of adventures when we were visiting places. Our favourite was the ice cave which was an amazing experience. We found that Artic Adventures were really easy to communicate with. We phoned several times to ask to be picked up at different locations or ask questions, everyone we spoke to was really helpful and funny! We really worried that we would feel like we weren't see the real Iceland because we were on a guided tour but it felt like the complete opposite, having the knowledge of a local guide helped us feel like we really got to experience everything Iceland can offer. Overall I couldn't recommend this tour enough.
Simply awesome! Everything was super clear and organized. Our guide HJALTI was the absolute best, he managed to drive us safely to all the highlights of the tour even though weather was rough and many other companies had to cancel their tours. He was very informative and helpful. The experience is incredible, such beautiful landscapes and unforgettable adventures. Fully recommended!
We joined a 3-day tour (Golden Circle, south coast, ice cave) guided by Vjeran and we absolutely loved it. We definitely made the most of what nature has to offer in that part of the country. The landscapes are simply breathtaking!! We wouldn't have been able to visit that many spots just by ourselves and would have left without having acquired much more knowledge. It was a pleasure listening to Vjeran instructing us and telling us about Icelandic legends. He paid attention to every detail to always make this trip the most enjoyable possible for us. We very much appreciated his commitment, his sense of humour and his patience (especially with us Frenchies :)). Thanks to him and to Iceland, we're leaving the country with some Icelandic music in our playlists and first and foremost with many unforgettable memories. Anna and Isabelle
Had a fantastic time with our guide, Gisli. Gisli was extremely passionate about the tour and very knowledgeable about Iceland. His insight definitely made the tour much more enjoyable
Booked the 4 day tour including the Golden Circle, South Coast, Volcano Hike, and Northern Lights in October of 2021. It's hard to imagine having had a better experience in Iceland. Our guide Auðbjörg (She said just call her Björg) was everything we could hope for in a tour guide. Completely knowledgeable about each and every stop we went, amazingly charismatic, friendly; she made what was already an unbelievable experience completely unforgettable. We started off getting picked up in downtown Reykjavik on day 1 in a very timely fashion and continued on to the Golden Circle. Björg timed each stop perfectly that we all had time to explore the beautiful landscapes and take plenty of photos. Never felt rushed or like we were wasting too much time at any one place. Pretty much everywhere in Iceland looks like it could be a postcard. We continued on along the South coast stopping at Skógafoss and a nice little vista that Björg knew of before settling in at Adventure Hotel Geirland near Kirkjubæjarklauster (For our ease she said just call it K-town). Hotel was nice and clean and remote enough that in the right conditions the aurora would surely be visible. Dinner was tasty and no more expensive than anywhere else in Iceland. Day 2 we headed out for our glacier hike and ice cave tour. Due to gale force winds the glacier we were supposed to visit was inaccessible but Björg was able to arrange for us to visit a different glacier near Katla. Hiking on the glacier and going into the ice cave was like something out of Lord of the Rings. Gorgeous views in every direction. After about 2 or 3 hours on the glacier we stopped for lunch at Reynisfjara, the black sand beach. Got to explore the caves and made a separate stop for more views at Dyrhólaey. Last stop before our hotel again for dinner was perhaps my favorite of the whole trip, the canyon Fjaðrárgljúfur. Day 3 we were able to visit Jökulsárlón and the Diamond beach. We were lucky to have a gorgeous sunny day so we were able to stop at multiple little stops that I had never even heard of in my research of the island, but were just as amazing as the last. Favorite was probably a cave that looks just like Yoda from the inside near Hjörleifshöfði. Day 3 is a fair bit of travel back to Reykjavik but Björg made sure we were never on the bus for too long of stretch. Included a stop at Seljalandsfoss and Gljufrabui, which (rightfully) Björg admitted was her favorite waterfall. Got back to Reykjavik about 7:30 that evening. Day 4 was our volcano hike with unforgettable views of the Fagradalsfjall volcano and lava field. Hiked up a 250 meter path to see all of the lava field in its glory. Even got to walk down to the very edge of the lava field and see where it ended. After lunch, because again we were lucky to have sunny weather we stopped at a small hot spring and the beautiful Kleifarvatn lake. Got back to Reykjavik late afternoon and was able to grab dinner before our Northern Lights tour. We (again) were lucky and had perfectly clear skies and saw an amazing show about 45 mins outside of Reykjavik. I know I've rambled on too long during this review already but I can't stress enough how much I'd recommend this tour. Well worth the price. Small group as promised. I'm sure all of their guides are fantastic but I feel especially lucky to have had Björg.
Terrible experience with customer service, due to covid-19 we weren't able to travel. According to their policies, we have the right to only a 50% refund, supposedly to be refunded in 6 weeks. After 3 months of sending e-mails and thy saying the refund would take longer, they say now that my refund is "suspended" and they are not answering my e-mails anymore. They are stealing my money
Incredible experience. We had a few questions to ask the company about our trip before we left and their team was quick to respond and answer all questions. The tours were on time and pick up was easy. The hotel accommodations were really nice, we loved our three guides, Eagle the Guide, Arntis, and Micah. The buses that they take you in are very nice and comfortable and have great wifi and phone charging abilities. W e loved all of the stops that we made along the way of the journey and loved hearing all the history, culture and stories from the guides. Our favorite part of our whole trip was the overnight tour to the South Coast, incredible nature! We lucked out and had really great weather so it made the trip all the more special! Love arctic adventures, it was a total win, 10/10 would recommend, no other way to do it!
