This is a great way to see the city when you want to combine with the sky lagoon. Guide was very knowledgeable and catered to what we wanted to do.
Fantastic in-depth tour. We came directly from the airport and our flight was 1/2 hour late, but we communicated with Your Friend in Reykjavik, and our driver, Gudwin, waited for us. Gudwin took us all around the city and some of its suburbs, while sharing his wide knowledge of the history, geology, politics, daily life, art, and other aspects of Iceland in general and Reykjavik in particular. He answered our questions, even the silly ones, and gave us several good recommendations. Gudwin was friendly, entertaining, thoughtful and interesting, and we enjoyed our tour immensely.
We had private tours / airport transportation both upon arrival and departure. When arriving in Iceland off the red-eye from JFK we were transported to the Blue Lagoon where we were able to relax and decompress following a flight where most of us barely slept. We enjoyed a nice “soak” along with some liquid refreshments, before having a quick lunch. Our guide was great she shared history of the area and how earthworks were made around the lagoon to protect it from the recent active volcano activity. We were then delivered to where we would store our luggage prior to our AirBnB check in. On the way back to KEF we toured the Reykjanes Peninsula where we saw sulfurous pools, lakes created as a result of volcanic activity, and the Reykjanes Light House. Our guide was knowledgeable and made sure our tour hit all the highlights including the bridge between the continents. Zofia from Your Friend in Reykjavik - was amazing in helping us to arrange all of our excursions in Iceland. We had a trip we will not soon forget.
We had a great time with, Sveinbjorn. The food was delicious and his guidance was excellent!!
Bo was great! Amazing experience, amazing tour guide, very friendly and welcoming. Would definitely book again without a doubt!
Bo was great! He was so knowledgeable about the Reykjavík area and took us all over to experience the various aspects of the peninsula, from the northern lighthouse to southern old harbor area with a wonderful stop at Perlan in between. We highly recommend this tour!
SVEINBJÖRN was awesome! Great vibes and knowledgeable! Thanks!
Palli was our guide and he made it such a memorable occasion. I truly can’t say enough about him and how he made all of us feel so welcome. It was like meeting up with an old friend!
We had a very good trip with Ian in the city and out from the city !It was interesting and Ian was a great guide!
April 2025 - We had time between landing at Keflavik and flying to Egilsstadir. We chose this trip to maximise Reykjavik time. It was a great start to our time in Iceland.
This is a great way to see the city without walking in the rain. Our guide was great and took us to all the highlights.
Our guide whose name is loosely translated as “bear” gave us an amazing tour with a focus on the history of Iceland and the Vikings. Even though we have been on two Norway cruises we learned more about the history of the Norse people than what we got from the cruises. Bear customized our tour to meet our limited walking capabilities. This was an outstanding tour.
A great way to get to know Reykjavík! Our guide was knowledgeable and friendly! I would book this again.
We had such a great experience with Your Friend In Reykjavik. We took advantage of their video chat option to help plan our tours, this being our first time in Iceland. From the video chat session with Zofia, the coordination of our tours together, and the personal approach from our tour guide, Ola, we could not have been more happier. We selected the 3hr Driving Tour and the South Coast Tour. Our group included four distinct adult personalities and a child under 2 (10 personalities in one!!) and Your Friend In Reykjavik was able to provide top notch recommendations, service, and flexibility. The driving tour was great for managing jet lag and waiting for hotel rooms. Our tour guide, Ola was awesome with my family! Afterwards, we were able to navigate the city fairly well as well as catch the bus to other locations. Such a great company!
Excellent tour. Cat was a great tour guide. She tailored our tour to what we wanted to see. My wife is disabled and Cat made sure to include her.
Cat was very personable and knowledgeable. She showed us the city and respected our needs with a disabled wife.
WOW! This was the best way to get a view of Reykjavik. Our driver and guide, Birkir, was absolutely fantastic. This was our first tour around Reykjavik and we were given a lay of the land. Birkir also gave us recommendations for sights to see and restaurants to try after our tour was complete. We had tour plans the next day and he planned our tour to show us other areas of Reykjavik so we didn't see anything twice. The car was also comfortable and spacious. If you are able to request a guide/driver, I would definitely go with Birkir!
Oli was our guide and he was a very knowledgeable guide. I wish he would have explained at the beginning where we were going and what we were going to see. We had no idea where we were headed or what we would see. In spite of that, we enjoyed Oli and the tour.
Guide had an excellent knowledge and took us to all the sights we wanted to see in Reykjavik. Arrived for the tour promptly and car was comfortable. Bo took photos and emailed them to us when the tour ended. Highly recommended.
My wife and I flew into Reykjavik to join the Viking Saturn. Because of scheduling issues we could not do a couple of pre-cruise days in Reykjavik, a place we really wanted to see. With the help of our Travel Agent, Natalie, we were signed up for a private 3-hour tour with Your Friend in Reykjavik. Oli was our fantastic guide. He drove us in a very nice SUV and was both interested in what we wanted to see and insightful on what we would find interesting. We were exhausted from almost 24 hours of travel but he made our journey so worthwhile, taking us to the incredible Hallgrimskirkja Church, Harpa Concert Hall, the Einer Jonnson sculpture garden, the Sun Voyager sculpture and a walk up Langevegur Street. We thoroughly enjoyed it! Oli was an excellent and thoughtful guide. He whetted our appetites for, perhaps, another trip to Reykjavik with an extended time in the city. If you want to get a feel for Reykjavik and you have only an afternoon, Oli and My Friend in Reykjavik are the best way to do that!
Alvaro, our guide, was very good and super kind. Prepared and attentive made our visit unforgettable.
