Great experience. This was my first trip to Iceland but not the last one. David the Guide, was magnificent. I really would like to thank everyone on their team. Always in time, fun trip. Hotels were great. Highly recommended.

There is no ice cave tour on this trip which was why we purchased this trip so we were very disappointed that they advertised falsely!! But our guide Ega was the best! We did hike on a glacier and boated among glacier icebergs. Saw amazing waterfalls and fun beaches. There is a lot of driving so be prepared to see a lot of the South Coast on your drive.
You need to know that plans change. Our enite trip was reversed. Fortunately everything worked out. Iceland is a very unusual countyr. The terrain is all Volcanic rock and moss, with lots of waterfalls, mountains, glaciers, hot springs. We loved every minute of this trip
The 3-day trip exceeded our expectations in terms of attractions visited and the arrangements with little need to bring extra equipment beyond a rain jacket and camera. Rodrigo was our guide for the last 2 days and he is great in the trip!
Very good experience. We really enjoyed the whole process.
Nice trip with Eli, with great explanations about ice caves! We went to 3 caves in total. Gooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooood
I saw many blue holes and glaciers; they were very beautiful.
Nice viewing! The experience was amazing. Elias is a good tour guide, patient and w
Haffi, first of all, was the perfect guide! And this tour was an incredible experience, perfect for anyone wanting to experience what the whole of Iceland has to offer. There were many memorable experiences, from the glacier hike (shout-out to Edger who lead that), the ice caves with the super jeep experience, the Vok baths, the whale watching and the beautiful landmarks and scenic sights and northern lights which Haffi kept us updated on. And this leads me on to Haffi...such a lovely local Icelander that was so knowledgeable, calm, well organised and overall the perfect guide to all the well known but also lesser known gems of Iceland. He joined us for dinner and shared his stories, but also left us to explore parts on our own. We never felt rushed, but he held a well organised schedule which meant for example we got to see the black sand beach with a beautiful sunset. He kept surprising us with stunning sight after stunning sight. I will definitely be back for a summer adventure and will be seeking out Haffi to be our tour guide for that! Thank you Troll tours :)
We enjoyed three days tours. Especially ice cave, diamond beach tour and several water falls. Also I could see Aurora during the trip. Outside the city has less light and we could see Aurora and stars together. Thank you for this opportunity.
I came to Iceland only to see the Northern Lights, and I am so glad we were in good hands with our guide Ania! She took such good care of us, explained how the aurora happens, and what she looks for so we all felt like we were part of the hunt! We were all so excited when we saw the amazing display of Northern Lights and we got such great photos from Ania! I highly recommend this and I would totally do it again.
Great experience. Took the 5 day tour which also included Whale Watching in Reykjavik and transfers to Blue Lagoon. Each activity was well planned and documented with personalized itinerary for every day. Tour guides were very knowledgeable, professional and extremely helpful. Some connecting busses, but each time the guides personally assisted travelers in making connections. My only advice - Very important that you are at pick up points ON TIME. I saw many instances where the traveler was not present, and the bus driver waited exactly 90 seconds - not 91 - the. Drive off. This is to ensure fairness for other travelers. Be punctual or get left behind.
Our tour guide was informative, educational and createda fun experience for everyone. Our guide had knowledge and patience. I enjoyed asking questions, and all were answered fully. Extra stops were added...and much appreciated. I now know more about Iceland than I ever imagined, and hope to return again one day because of this tour. Thanks!
My expectations were not very high as my mango was to see the northern lights. I did see them two nights and at the duck be surprised with everything else I was able to see. This place is amazing and very unique landscape. Guide to Iceland was instrumental in making this strip Possible in an affordable way. I’m a little older than most of the kids there so sometimes I wished I had had a little more holding hand but overall it was excellent! Kimberly from Guide to Iceland was exceptional in responding 1 million questions I had always promptly. Check out Guide to Iceland website and make going to Iceland one of your bucket list items.
We booked a northern lights tour with this company and they were amazing. They helped us change nights very easily when the weather was not good for original date and when we had some issues accessing our pictures, they helped resolve it! Would highly recommend.
We have spent three days near South coast with our tour guide Haukur, the trip was really well-planned and the experience was more than satisfying! We had the chance to witness the breathtaking sceneries in the Golden Circle, ice caves and near the glacier lagoons, and thanks our tour guide Haukur, who always stopped at pass-by spots to add some extra experiences to our tour! For example, we got the chance to have photos of the horses and volcanos during our way to the different stops, which really made the whole tour even better. We really enjoyed our trip and a big thanks to Haukur Simonarson who was super nice to us the whole time, always trying to enlighten our mood during travel and giving tourist or dining recommendations for us!
My best friend and I took this tour last year. We had an amazing time. The places we visited were wonderful, all the sights were impressive. We highly recommend it! Places included in the tour: Gullfoss Waterfall, the Great Geysir, The Þingvellir National Park - Where You Walk Between Two Continents, Vatna Glacier and the Diamond and Black Beach. We were delighted with our trip, besides the amazing locations, our tour guides were very kind, funny and gave us a lot of great tips for other places to check out on our trip. We were lucky enough to experience the Northern Lights on two occasions, which was breath-taking. In general, the local community were really friendly. Without hesitation, we would definitely return.
This tour is highly recommended for people who only will stay in Iceland just for 4 or 5 days. The itinerary has been packed with many tourist spots, lots of chance to take good photos, the guide - Charlie is very thoughtful and nice, always put safety in his first priority. The schedule is so packed that I don't recommend you to go with mums & dad (unless they are very young), which I think it's a good point for me. I love their arrangements cause I visited many places in one time and I didn't have to worry about "how to go there, when should I go there"...blah blah blah~ One tour can solve all your problems and you will meet friends there too!
The best things to see are outside of Reykjavik, and since the road conditions in Iceland during the winter are harsh due to the unpredictable weather, my sister and I decided to book a multi-day tour to skip the hassle of renting a car and avoid the horror stories we had heard of tourists driving around Iceland during the winter. My sister and I aren't into big group experiences, so we were happy to see that Guide to Iceland offers small group multi-day tours. Our group had 12 people and we definitely felt like we had a more personalized experience because of it. Our guide Sveinn was great! He is native to Iceland, and is very passionate about his country and the outdoor adventures it provides. Despite the crazy weather, we felt safe the whole time with him (he has years of experience working on the search and rescue team in Iceland - he's a badass!) and he is hilarious with his unique sense of humor. During our trip, we felt like we had enough time to enjoy each stop and of course take lots of pictures! Our favorite sites we saw during the trip was the Glacier Lagoon and Diamond Beach - both are unique to Iceland and absolutely breathtaking to see in person. Unfortunately, due to dangerous weather conditions, our glacier hike and ice cave tour got cancelled (this was a huge bummer to us because seeing the ice caves was a bucket list item of ours). Note: most people traveling to Iceland in the winter usually experience some sort of activity being cancelled due to the weather - however, people still love going in the winter because it's the only time of year to see the ice caves and the Northern Lights. Our guide Sveinn did a great job of improvising new activities for us to due as a result of those two cancellations - he took us to another glacier that we got to hike up to (not on), we got to meet the Icelandic horses, and he took us to see a hidden waterfall. Guide to Iceland was also very understanding and we got partial refunds for the two activities that had been cancelled due to the weather. I would highly recommend booking a multi-day tour with Guide to Iceland if you are visiting in the winter!
Fridjon was an amazing tour guide and it's no surprise to find out he does a LOT of interesting and unique private tours too. He is full of great stories with many personal connections that really bring the country alive. When our glacier hike was cancelled due to dangerous weather he didn't miss a beat, with added stops like Dyrhólaey (awe-inspiring!) that we would not have seen otherwise. He even treated us to hákarl and brennivín when we stopped to refuel! After spending three days with Fridjon I cannot imagine seeing Iceland any other way. My wife already gave his card to her seat mate on a Southwest flight this weekend, whose daughter is honeymooning in Iceland this summer.
After doing some research and finding the Guide to Iceland website, I booked this tour via them. All my enquiries were met with prompt responses prior to booking. I believe the actual tour was done by Aurora Hunters. The 3 day, 2 night tour started March 8, 2019 and things could not have gone smoother. We were picked up at the pre-assigned place on time and from then on things couldn't have been better. I want to show GREAT appreciation for our guide on this, Gunnlaugur B Ólafsson, who was simply outstanding. His patience with the group of 15 in the tour vehicle, knowledge and explanation of things were exceptional. He really made the tour fun and informative. We all know how sometimes tours can be arduous. To finish off, I would HIGHLY recommend this tour. Regards, Wayne
My five girlfriends and I took a 7 day trip to Iceland and were lucky enough to be on this three day tour. The planning was impeccable and the guide and driver were FANTASTIC. It's one thing to see beautiful sites, but let's face it, bus travel can get tedious. These guys (Rocky and Bene) kept it fun and light, while making sure everyone had a great time. This is by far the best tour I've been on, and I've traveled extensively.
This trip was so much more than we expected. It was packed with experiences yet very well orgainized. Our guide, Omar, was very informative and fun to be with. The mini bus was pristine and very comfortable. We especially enjoyed the overnight stay at the Hotel Hofn in Hofn and the dinner there was worthy of 5 stars. We highly recommend this tour and would book it again in a heartbeat!
This was one of the best trips ever! This tour was an awesome way to see almost everything in southern Iceland. Our tour guide, Hinrik Oskarsson, was the absolute BEST! He crushed it driving through some pretty windy/rainy weather and still made sure our days were filled with incredible views and adventures. He even managed to squeeze in some additional stops that were amazing! I would take another trip to Iceland with Hinrik in a heartbeat!
This is a great way to explore the southern part of Iceland. It covers all of the must see spots in the South area. Our guide, Hinrik Oskarsson, did an AMAZING job. Honeatly, he couldn't have been better!! He was able to adjust our schedule based on weather and the needs of the group. Also he added in a few unscheduled spots which really made the experience even better than we expected. He went above and beyond, including soaking his pants and shoes helping us through a creek so we could all see a very awesome waterfall! When we (hopefully soon) return to Iceland we would love to take a tour with Hinrik again!!!
We did the 3 day trip across the south coast. The driver, Reynir, was excellent and taught us a lot about Iceland and its culture. The company was also very flexible as the tour had to be adjusted due to bad weather but we were kept fully informed about everything. The hotels were clean and comfortable and Iceland itself was beautiful. Reynir went the extra mile by taking photos of all his tourists with the Northern Lights and sending them to us after the trip was over. Highly recommended
Our first day Golden Circle tour in a mini bus (YourDayTours) was ok as our tour guide was not as interested and was a little rude. However our next 2 days tour guide, Finn with Aurora hunters was one of the best tour guides we have had in our travels. He was extremely knowledgeable, friendly and drove us safely along the South Shore in treacherous road conditions. He went above and beyond to make our experience a memorable one. Very well organized. We got a deluxe package and were booked with Hotel Apotek in Reykjavik which was excellent. Customer service at Guide to Iceland is excellent and very prompt with emails. The only issue with their customer service is if you call them to fix a problem they will ask you to email them and it can sometimes lead to confusion with different representatives handling the same issue. Overall I would highly recommend them.
Amazing tour! We saw the northern lights twice. Especially out tour guide, Reynir Arngrímsson, is very nice guy and helped us a lot during these days. The equipment was well-prepared so no need to worry about the safety issue. Hopefully, we can come back again and take a tour to the east and west of Iceland.
We absolutely loved this tour. Rocky was an awesome tour guide and Benni an excellent driver. Rocky was always up for a chat and was very informative, providing us with the legends and tales of Iceland. Rocky's music taste was excellent and the little details like playing songs relevant to every attraction we went to made the tour that much more enjoyable. The tour takes you to all the attractions you want to see in the golden circle and south coast. Our favourite bits were the glacier hike, the ice caves and visiting Diamond Beach and the glacier lagoon. Unfortunately we weren't able to see the Northern lights on the tour, but Rocky stayed up both nights looking for clear sky in order to help us see them. Once we went to bed he also sent us texts to let us know if there were any changes in the sky. Iceland is so beautiful, we will definitely be back!
Amazing country, amazing food, but most of all, amazing people! You made us feel at home! Thanks Jon Sigfus!!!
Fantastic way to see the country if you don't have much time. The highlight was the glacier trek, the glacier cave and the diamond beach. We were well supported by our guide and driver (G and G) who provided full information on cultural, historical, social, geographical and geological Iceland. A small country with a big impact!
We chose this tour because we were advised against driving on our own in January, because of the weather conditions. This tour is covering all the sights we wanted to see and more, so we gave it a go and we don't regret it for a minute! Our guide was Daniel, who was very friendly and knowledgeable. He went out of his way to show us extra locations along the way, which was super fun. In spite of the snow and the ice, we were lucky as we did do everything that was included in the tour, and more, and we did see the Northern Lights on the first night of the tour. We had plenty of time at each location, all the activities were fun and the accommodation was excellent. We were given tips on where to get food, etc. The bus/ van was comfortable enough for short distances. The longer distances were a bit uncomfortable, as the seats weren't very spacious without much leg room, but overall not a massive problem as there were lots of breaks and we were able to sleep. We had small sized carry-on suitcases that did fit well in the back of the vehicle. We were picked up slightly late (it was very cold outside!) but we were dropped off right outside our hotel back in Reykjavik. We had a lot of fun, learned a lot and really enjoyed the three days with Daniel and the group. We would highly recommend this tour as we really think we got a lot of value out of it! Excellent!
Three of us joined the tour with Finnbogi, who is very nice and keen to share geographic knowledge and fun facts about Iceland. A friend booked the trip separately and therefore was assigned to a different group at the beginning, Finn was very understanding when being told we are travelling together, and included her in the group. He adapted our schedule with the weather very well, and kindly returned the gloves that I left on the van after our trip. We covered the golden circle, glacier hiking, ice cave, and the Northen lights in 3 days yet not feeling tired! Highly recommended!
Amazing trip and beautiful landscapes, what a pity we couldn't see the northernlights because of weather, trip to recommend, nice guide Hilmar
We have stayed with Carlos, our tour guide, who is extremely nice and kind. His explanations of Iceland are detailed and easy to understand. He brought us for the Aurora on the first night, we have such an unforgettable experience! The Aurora is soooo beautiful! Carlos has helped us to take pictures as well, we really appreciate it a lot. He is the coolest guide I have ever met in my life! I will definitely join the tour and find Karlos again when I visit Iceland next time.
The guide Karlos is friendly and nice. Thank you for taking beautiful pictures for us, we have great memories of the 3days tour especially the Northern Light!
the tour guide Carlos is friendly, professional, and amazing! although the weather was not so ideal, he did his best to satisfy our needs.
Did above plus glacier walking, all organised by Guide to Iceland with Blue Lagoon. Everything went as per their detailed iternary. Pick ups always on time, knowledge and experienced guides who gave great insight into the Country. Cannot fault the company and would use again.
I booked three days trip to Iceland from AURORA HUNTER. Our guide, Sven, worked as a guide for about 20 years. He is a very nice person. He took us to chase aurora and shared interesting animal(water bear) and stones(Viking crystal and oxydi lava) with us. BTW, I love his luxury car most! Every time he drives, i can fall asleep quickly! In Iceland, a good driver is of great importance! Anyway, three days trip is truly worth it! You can enjoy Blue Ice Cave and have ice hiking on Glacier. And thanks for our guide, I enjoy this trip quite a lot! Hope I can come back to Iceland one day!
It was raining the whole time when I was on the tour. We weren't able to do the ice cave on the last day due to lightning and post heavy rain issues. Wasnt able to see any aurora but the guide (baddi?) Was amazing. He showed us some extra spots to make up for ice cave. Highly recommend it. Wish I could've done longer ones.
Amazing tour .. despite the weather conditions in Iceland in this time of the year we had an Amazing trip with Aurora Hunters we had a stormy weather but they took as to different locations to make sure we will not get bored ... our Guide Carlos was amazing he was making sure that every one was feeling good on the trip he was so knowledgeable about the history of iceland and the places we visit, he went beyond the extra mile to make sure we could catch the Northern ligths .. he can drive and see on the Darkness and detect any aurora activity Maggical eyes .. Our batman Guide .. thank You Carlos for your efforts and make our dream come true .. the accommodation where good we had a good sleep in all the hotels.. this is a trip we won't forget
We have been through a lot these three days. Rainy days, Heavy storm and aurora!!!✨✨ Iceland weather is always changing even in five minutes. Starting a trip with other people from all over the world was always an adventure. Luckily, we got an amazing tour guide also the driver. He was so kind and helpful for all the group and the trip. 👏👏He is the best. One day of this trip was stormy day and we hardly go on our trip to glacier. He came out the most safest solution and drove to the lava museum. 😆😆 And the next day, the bad lucky became good lucky. We had a very good view of the glacier lagoon just because of the storm. ( the storm made the ice float and everything was more gorgeous.)😊😊 This trip is very worthy and I recommend everyone at least once time to try this kind of trip.
I booked this tour expecting to have a lot of activities for three days. Even though the weather was not good, Trondt (our guide) was very flexible and explained the whole situation to the group. Due to weather conditions we had to activities cancelled, but they were refunded to us without a problem. We were not able to see aurora borealis, but it's a beautiful country so I'd gladly go back. It's a great tour and a great company. This option is great to visit different great places.
This 3 days 2 nights trip is really fantastic and I had fun in these few days as the places that I have visited were impressive. The tour guide Rocky did a really great job, he made this tour a bit more fun. He explained a lot on each places which gave me more ideas about the attractions. He and the driver made us a certain amount of extra stops which really impressive. Rocky brought us to watch the northern light every single night. But there were no northern light on the first night so he brought us again on the second night. However, the northern light on the second night was weak and we could not see it. But he promised that if the northern light appeared, he would call us. That night, thanks to Rocky's call, we could able to watch the norther light. I definitely recommend people join this tour and it is totally worth it !!!! And lastly, thank for Rocky and the driver provided us a really great tour!!! GRANT REWARD LOL
We all very enjoyed the 3-day tour, our tour guide was excellent. The weather wasn’t very good during the time, but we were lucky we saw the northern lights at the first night. Highly recommend the glacier tour and ice cave, they are amazing.
This trip was a bit pricey, but it was well worth it. The minibus that we used for the trip was very clean, which was a nice start since we spent so much time in it. The guide was very knowledgeable about the landscape and the history of the areas that we were going through. The hotel accommodations were beyond what I expected. Both places that we stayed were incredibly nice, both with free breakfast. I'm not sure what to say besides it was an absolutely incredible journey and didn't disappoint at all.
Rocky and his driver Benny (I won't embarrass myself by trying their full Icelandic names) turned, what I expected to be, a fun and informative trip into the highlight of our week in Iceland. Rocky, the guide and comic, had a humorous reference for each and every bit of Icelandic scenery we stopped at or drove past. He lightened the mood with a high five from the moment we loaded our bags and genuinely wanted to get to know us over the course of the trip. He kept a solid playlist going with frequent tie-ins between the music and the scenery, history of the scene, or cultural highlight about the scene. He instilled the desire to be on time but made sure to give us enough time to take in the full experience. As their name implies (Aurora hunters) they spent the evenings checking all around for ideal directions and times to go watch the northern lights. And top it all off, he was the same guy in the evenings and would gladly welcome anyone who wanted to chat and grab a beer with him.
3 day golden circle tour with Aurora Hunters. Very happy to meet such professional driver and guide. Rocky(the guide) is fantastic. He made the tour full of laughters (especially his "romatic German music"). Besides, the restaurants he recommended were truly delicious. Beautiful scene and happy tour, wish to travel to Iceland and meet with these guys again.
Though the minibus was full and kind of crowded, and the weather went bad on the 3rd day which forced us to cancel the ice cave tour... but we got the BEST guide I’ve ever met (I’ve been to 33 countries)! Carlos is truly an Aurora hunter! He tried so hard to make sure the group got the best chance and experience of seeing the northern light! I am so grateful for what he did for us, and will definitely come back to Iceland to book the tour again for the ice cave I missed this time.
Wonderful time! We were well taken care of by Rocky (Rognvaltur) and Benny. They were able to get us into sights before the crowds and were able to make extra stops because of their experience. Local places we would have never known to go. Very interesting commentary on the natural beauty if Iceland and local stories. Loved the geysers and my favorite waterfall is the one in danger of being flooded due to a proposed dam! Hiking on the glaciers was exilerating! Waterfalls were breathtaking. R&B knew where all the photo ops were and what time of day to shoot. And they kept us safe while letting us have fun! 14 people on a Sprinter van is super. Great music also.
