100% recommended! This was the best experience ever, largely thanks to our guide, Rocky. He is incredibly fun, deeply experienced, and felt more like a friend than a guide.

Itinerary
Day 1
1
We visit the place where the two tectonic plates, the North American and the Eurasian plate, are moving away from each other. Few places in the world offer a better and clearer view of this massive geographic activity. The biggest natural lake in Iceland is also located at Thingvellir National Park and hosts a great variety of fish and bird life. Thingvellir is also an important place for Icelandic national history. At Thingvellir Icelanders founded their parliament in 930 a.d. where the chieftains had their annual meeting every summer. The name “Thingvellir” translates to “Parliament Plains”.
The melting water from Iceland´s second biggest glacier, Langjökull, falls into a deep canyon forming the majestic “Golden Falls”. On a sunny day, you can see the glacier Langjökull in the distance and enjoy a rainbow in the mist of the waterfall, an Instagram blockbuster waiting to happen!
The Geysir geothermal area hosts hundreds of colorful hot springs and two geysers, erupting hot springs. One is called “Geysir” and name giving for all the geysers in the world. Today, however, it erupts very seldom. The other geyser is called “Strokkur” and erupts every 5 minutes up to 40 meters.
Next, we visit the mighty Gullfoss, or “Golden Falls.” Fed by meltwater from Langjökull glacier, this two-tiered waterfall drops dramatically into a canyon. On sunny days, look for a rainbow glimmering in the mist. A photographer’s delight.
Our next stop is the stunning Seljalandsfoss waterfall. You can walk behind the cascade for a one-of-a-kind view. Just bring a rain jacket! The roar of the water and shimmering mist make this an unforgettable experience.
Day 2
2
Further east along the coast is Skógafoss waterfall. Skógafoss is an incredibly picturesque sight. Tucked in a little gorge, the river Skógá tumbles down a 60 meter cliff before continuing down the landscape towards the Atlantic Ocean. Alongside the gorge a staircase can take you to the shelf above the waterfall for stunning views. See if you can count your steps on your way up.
Next, we meet our certified glacier guide for an unforgettable adventure on the ice. After gearing up with helmets, crampons, and ice axes, we’ll step onto the glacier, an ever-changing world of blue ice, deep crevasses, and frozen sculptures. If weather or safety factors prevent hiking at one glacier, the tour may instead take place at another beautiful and suitable glacier. The journey continues with the blue ice cave exploration. The exciting hike to reach the cave will take a few minutes – we recommend wearing waterproof hiking boots that cover your ankles and have hard sole. Iceland’s nature is dominated by glaciers and it is only possible to explore them with a certified guide and safety equipment. Your guide will share with you his expertise about the ice caves, allowing you to truly appreciate this amazing natural phenomenon – spoiler alert… it will be blue.
Day 3
3
Heading off day nr. 3 is Jökulsárlón glacier lagoon, a 200m deep glacial lagoon fed by Breiðamerkurjökull, an outlet glacier of Europe’s largest glacier. Enormous icebergs come from Breiðamerkurjökull all year round so the lagoon is usually filled with ice that floats south. Try walking alongside the glacier lagoon enjoying the magnificent views and dead silence of Icelandic nature. Before heading back you will jump on a super jeep and head to a blue ice cave in the glacier.
On the other side of the road the icebergs from Jökulsárlón glacier lagoon float into the Atlantic Ocean where they are quickly thrown back to shore by the tide and winds. This black sand beach is full of smaller ice rocks in all shapes and sizes, sparkling like diamonds in the daylight. The ice itself comes in all shades of white and blue forming beautiful contrasts, guaranteed to make your Instagram account pop!
Heading further east, we visit the black sand beach of Reynisfjara where the Atlantic coastline presents massive waves hitting the unique basalt columns in the cliffs above the sand. Rock pillars in the water and the cliffs of Dýrhólaey are seen in the distance. This area of the south is also a paradise for bird lovers, as puffins and dozens of other unique species nest on top of these cliffs in the summertime from June to August.
A visit to a natural blue ice cave. From Jökulsárlón, you will join a tour where a Super-Jeep will take you to the glacier. After a short hike you will be able to enter a naturally formed ice cave. Inside, you’ll learn about the cave’s formation and the dynamic nature of Iceland’s glacial environment.

We had such a great time! Rocky was the best guide. He made us feel like we were out with a friend, not on a tour. Super friendly, really funny, and he explained everything along the way. His stories were the best 😂 and the music always matched the places perfectly. The tour covered most of the important places and everything was so well organised. Would totally recommend it!
We had a truly, truly amazing time on our tour. Our guide, Rocky, was absolutely fantastic. He was very funny, informative, energetic, and organized. He went out of his way several times throughout the tour to ensure we had a top notch experience, and managed to find us perfect spots to catch the northern lights, which we were lucky enough to get to see! His curated music playlist with songs fitting the experiences we were currently going to or leaving were a very charming touch as well. The spots of the tour were also just breathtaking. Every place we went to was just mind-blowingly beautiful. It’s such a magnificent country and the tour really highlighted all the different parts of it and what makes it such an amazing place. The ice cave, the waterfalls, and þingvellir were all standouts, but no spot felt like a waste of time or unnecessary. I would absolutely recommend this tour to anyone who wants to experience the wonder of Iceland without any of the stress of driving yourself around for hours. We had a truly excellent experience with our guide and our tour!
Rocky was absolutely amazing and so much fun! He made my entire three-day trip full of energy and enjoyment. The whole itinerary was very well organized. I’ll definitely come back to Iceland, and I hope to have Rocky as my guide again next time!
I had an absolutely amazing experience during these three days in Iceland! Thor was our tour guide, and he was truly spectacular. The experience couldn’t have been better. Thor was incredibly knowledgeable and generous in sharing his experience and knowledge with us. He was kind, friendly, and genuinely made everyone feel comfortable and welcome. He went above and beyond what was planned for the tour and made sure we had the best possible experience. One of the things I appreciated most was how perfectly he adapted our itinerary to the changing weather. He managed everything so thoughtfully and made adjustments when needed to give us the best experience possible. Thanks to him, the trip was not only beautiful but truly memorable. I would absolutely love to come back to Iceland, and I would definitely book a longer trip with Thor. He was an amazing guide, and I highly recommend him to anyone visiting Iceland!
An Unforgettable Iceland Adventure with Thor! 🇮🇸❤️ ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Thor turned our three days in Iceland into an adventure we’ll talk about for years. From the moment we met him, he welcomed us with genuine warmth and made us feel completely comfortable, cared for, and excited for every day ahead. He is an outstanding guide, knowledgeable, enthusiastic, funny, and deeply passionate about Iceland. Whether he was sharing fascinating stories, answering our endless questions, or helping us discover breathtaking places, Thor brought every moment to life. He didn’t simply show us the country; he helped us experience it. What touched us most was how naturally he made us feel like friends rather than tourists. His kindness, patience, humor, and thoughtful attention made the entire journey feel personal and effortless. By the end of the trip, saying goodbye felt like leaving someone we had known much longer. Thor, thank you for three unforgettable days and for giving us memories we’ll treasure forever. You are truly one of a kind, and any tour company would be incredibly lucky to have you. If you’re visiting Iceland, we HIGHLY recommend booking a tour with Thor! You will not regret it. And Thor, if you ever visit Puerto Rico, bring far fewer layers—our weather will take care of the rest! 😂☀️🇵🇷 Five stars still don’t feel like enough! Thank you, Thor, for making our Iceland adventure so extraordinary! ❤️🇮🇸
We had an amazing tour guide! Thor took us on all our tours in Iceland and exceeded all our expectations. He was professional, friendly, and made every experience truly special. We couldn’t have asked for a better guide! Thank you, Thor, for making our trip to Iceland so memorable. Highly recommended! 🇮🇸⭐
This experience was amazing because our tour guide Branimir made everything to get this. The destinations took my breath away but Bran’s Management was key to have such incredible experience.
I loved Bran is a super guide always on Time saying the time of when to get back in the bus and super nice with me. ATT Lupe
Bran was our tour guide and he was absolutely AMAZING. He knew so much about everything we saw, he was funny, respectful, always on time and super accommodating with my dad who could not do some of the activities. His work was impecable and made our experience so much more magical. A million thanks from Colombia Bran!!!
This 3 day tour gave us a true Iceland experience. Our tour guide Iskren is very nice and knowledgeable, he shared a lot of stories on the way and everything was perfectly arranged! We had some great weathers and bad ones but were lucky even to attend all the activities and the view, landscape and activities are all once in a life time. Overall it’s a great experience and in my opinion it’s great value for price consider the quality of everything. Would highly recommend
Excellent experience with our guide Iskren. He’s a very enthusiastic and professional guide and we had great time traveling. The glacier hiking was perfect and we saw great blue ice caves. Unforgettable trips!
It was an amazing experience, and Branamir was a fantastic guide
Overall, the 5-day tour was definitely worth it. Everything was very well organized, the transportation was comfortable and reliable, and the itinerary was a great way to experience Iceland. However, our experience with the guides was quite different. For the first three days, we had Siggy, who was incredibly committed, friendly, polite, and funny. He really went the extra mile to make the experience special, and we had an amazing time with him. He created such a great atmosphere within the group and made those first three days truly memorable. For the last two days, we had a different guide, Thalis, and unfortunately the experience was not the same. At times, we found his attitude a bit impolite, and after such a positive experience with Siggy, the difference was very noticeable. Overall, I would still recommend the tour because it is well organized and offers a great way to see Iceland. I just wish the quality of the experience with the guides had been more consistent throughout the five days.
We had an incredible time. Everything was perfectly organized but the plus was our guide Siggi. He was super funny and kind. Definitely I will recommend Troll.
Branimir was our tour guide for our 5 day Golden Circle tour. He was very friendly and helpful for all the guests. He was always enthusiastic and very prompt with all the time. We enjoyed the tour thoroughly and very appreciative of his efforts to make the trip as memorable as possible. Definitely recommend the tour!
We hit so many of the beautiful, austere, cold, and wonderful visual treats of Iceland. We had a great guide, Rocky, who led us with enthusiasm and knowledge. We also had a great bunch of people on the trip. All together it worked so well
We were originally planning on driving ourselves around and on day one we were glad that we did not. This tour showed you all the sites with enough time to enjoy. It is a small group and we did not feel like cattle be herded from one place to another. We were able to linger at waterfalls and viewing points. Our tour guide Rocky was the best....curated song list was great...it was a cool game of trying to guess what we were seeing next. You can tell he really enjoys what he does. You experience all types of weather in one day, we felt completely safe with Rocky at the helm. And it was great listening to him tell the tales and stories of sites. We did not see the Northern Lights on tour but you cannot predict nature. The glacier hikes were amazing, the guides there were excellent as well. You really feel like you are in another world with the changing landscapes. Food stops were great....get the Number 2 pizza at Black Crust Pizzeria. Our guide had the timing down that we avoided most crowds. I would highly recommend this tour. I was in Iceland on the ground for 5 days and it was the best way to see what you expected to visit in a short amount of time without feeling rushed or cheated of any experiences.
Rocky was an incredible excursion driver, completely safe, endlessly funny, and full of personality. He paired the stunning scenery with magical music at just the right moments, making the whole ride feel truly unforgettable. Highly recommend!
We recently joined a 3-day tour in Iceland, and it was truly an incredible experience from start to finish. The waterfalls and breathtaking landscapes along the way felt almost unreal. The highlight of our trip was seeing the glaciers up close and even exploring the ice caves. We were also lucky enough to witness the Northern Lights multiple times, which made the experience even more magical. One of the absolute highlights was our guide, Rocky. He wasn’t just a guide, but a fantastic storyteller. His energy and humor made the long drives feel short, and he kept everyone engaged and entertained throughout the entire trip. One thing to keep in mind: food in Iceland can be quite expensive, so it’s a good idea to plan your budget accordingly and be prepared for higher prices. Overall, this tour was absolutely worth it. If you’re considering a short but immersive Iceland experience, I highly recommend it.
My friends and I just completed a 3‑day tour of Iceland with guide Iskren, and it was an absolute joy from start to finish. The scenery was beyond beautiful. The Golden Circle’s waterfalls, geysers, and National Park felt like another world. On the South Coast, I especially loved Brúarfoss—its clear blue water and peaceful setting were so magical. The Ice Cave was breathtaking. And the glacier hike was my favorite part! Walking on the ancient ice was an unforgettable adventure. Iskren is an outstanding guide—funny, warm, and incredibly patient. He kept the group relaxed and engaged the entire time, with great stories and a great sense of humor that made every day feel light and enjoyable. He checked in on everyone, made sure we were comfortable, and went out of his way to help with small things—whether it was adjusting the pace or giving clear instructions. He was also very knowledgeable and organized, making the whole trip smooth and stress‑free. I couldn’t have asked for a better guide. Definitely worth the price and I would highly recommend!
I had such an incredible experience on this 3-day tour — it truly felt like a once-in-a-lifetime journey. Every day was packed with breathtaking landscapes, from waterfalls and glaciers to the ice cave and Diamond Beach. The blue ice cave especially was unreal, something you really can’t fully capture in photos. What made the trip even more special was our guide, Iskren. He was extremely patient, knowledgeable, and genuinely cared about everyone in the group. He made sure we were safe at all times during the glacier hike and explained so much about Iceland’s nature and geology in a really engaging way. The itinerary was very well organized but still felt relaxed, and we had enough time to enjoy each stop without feeling rushed. I also appreciated the little extra stops and thoughtful details along the way — they made the whole experience feel more personal. This trip wasn’t just sightseeing — it felt like a meaningful life experience. I would 100% recommend this tour to anyone visiting Iceland.
We did the 3-day South Coast tour with Troll Expeditions and it was honestly such a great experience. We got to see all the highlights — Golden Circle, tons of waterfalls, the glacier lagoon, Diamond Beach, and the black sand beach. The timing was really well planned — we had enough time at each stop to explore and take photos without feeling rushed. Our guide, Iskren, was super funny and took great care of everyone.
I just finished a 3-day Southern Iceland tour and it exceeded all my expectations! The landscapes we saw were absolutely breathtaking, from cascading waterfalls to black sand beaches and glittering glaciers. What really stood out was the perfect pacing. We had plenty of time at each attraction to explore, take photos, and soak in the beauty without feeling rushed. Our guide, Iskren, was exceptional. They were incredibly knowledgeable about Iceland's geology, history, and culture. Their patience made even the most curious questions feel welcome, and their witty sense of humor kept the mood light and fun throughout the trip. I can't recommend this tour enough!
I had a wonderful time with Troll! The guide Iskren was very professional and responsible. His driving is top-level, and he also showed us some extra hidden gems while explaining the history. The whole experience was so enjoyable that I’ll definitely be booking with Troll again. Highly recommended, not just ISKREN, but also Troll!
I recommend Iskren, he is a very responsible tour guide who knows a lot of Chinese. It's very enjoyable to travel with him.
It was a truly amazing trip, and I’m so glad our first experience in Iceland was with Troll.is. A special shout-out to our tour guide, Hafþór, whose energy and passion made every stop come alive. He truly made the whole journey unforgettable. I would highly recommend Troll.is to anyone planning a trip to Iceland!
Troll.is made this a no brainer. My friend and I did both a 3-day and a 2-day tour, back to back. This 3-day, small group tour (no more than 18 people) was so amazing and our guide was beyond fun, highly recommend!! If you're lucky enough to have Rocky, you're going to get a theme song with every stop and few solid high fivers. The photos I've shared here are before and after our glacier hike. Thank you for a rocking good time!! 🙌
Haffi is a BEAST!! What an epic trip for my wife and myself. We got loads of excitement, and then some! Met some amazing folks who were always game for another adventure. We got to do so much. Our guide Haffi dealt with SO much adversity, and he came through it like a champ! Stressful breakdown and swapping of vans, then later, after dark he drives back and returns with our repaired bus! A spectacular number of places visited, capped off by a tremendous (and bitter cold) evening chasing the Aurora. Snowed in by a storm not to be messed with which left many roads closed for hours. He kept it light, kept us informed, and rewarded us with yet more fun activities. Haffi is a spectacular, friendly caring guy, who never stopped aiming to please. Cannot say enough good things about him. He took care of every detail, great restaurants, good music, fun facts and stories. If you come to Iceland and are using Troll tours, request him. You won’t be sorry.
Utterly BRILLIANT! Haffi, our guide showed us the best time ever - he was simply superb. We saw so much, we did so much and loved every minute. So many laughs, so much fun, some excellent music on the bus and Haffi kept us entertained and interested throughout. He’s an encyclopaedia of knowledge! A wonderful trip.
Haffi is amazing!!! We had such a great time. Even though a blizzard showed up, Haffi totally made it a great time.
This was a great comprehensive tour of the Golden Circle and the south coast of Iceland. Jacob did an amazing job driving in challenging weather conditions. He was knowledgeable, personable and always optimistic! My family had a wonderful time!
Our guide Rocky (the man only with a T shirt even in a snowstorm! ) is funny and knowledgeable. Love the music he played! We had so much fun in the trip and a wonderful time in Iceland.
Rocky is the best! I love Rocky
I did a five day combined tour with 2-Day Snæfellsnes Peninsula & West Iceland tour. Iceland is truly magical and majestic. Thanks, Troll, for an amazing vacation! The tour was perfectly balanced, offering the right mix of sightseeing and adventure. I'm super grateful to our guide Branimier – he's literally the best! He shared awesome insights into the geography, history, and culture, keeping us engaged and informed. He nailed the pace, covering plenty without making us feel rushed. His prep work paid off, too – clear instructions beforehand made sure we made the most of our time at each spot. Plus, he always prioritized our comfort and safety, which was a huge relief. I'm very pleased about my experience and will definitely book with Troll again.
We had a FANTASTIC time on our tour! Branimir was a wonderful tour guide - he had so much info to share and genuine love and enthusiasm for Iceland that was infectious. This is a high adventure tour! I was a little scared I’m not going to lie and at times was wondering what got into to me to go hiking in ice caves and on glaciers! But Bran like a good army Sargent and his team - Tristan the Viking from the far north and Ana the smiley South American made sure we were prepared and safe. Please listen to all the tips and you’ll have such a magical adventure!
This trip was a once in a lifetime experience. The views are breathtaking and I particularly enjoyed the glacier hike. The whole trip was made even more incredible but our amazing tour guide Branimir, the captain of the Fun Bus. He was upbeat, organized, kind, and knowledgeable. Tristan, the ice cave tour guide, and Ana, the glacier hike tour guide, were also amazing! All of them were gracious in taking photos. Highly recommend!
Rocky is the best guide ever. He plays the global song list the whole tour. Love his humour and jokes, always heading with happiness and smile. The best road trip💙
We did the tour with rocky, a very nice and funny tour guide! He left open spaces for us to enjoy ourselves during the sightseeing. Also during driving in the road always sharing some useful facts and learnings from Iceland. The entire tour is packed with great professionals and the country is really amazing. You can go with them without any fear or missing any spot or info. Get ready for some adventure, and prepare for the different types os weather. Believe it can change very fast.
I had an amazing experience on the tour, our guide Rocky is super helpful and accommodating. I was able to complete all the activities and it’s so effortless since it’s a guided tour. Will definitely recommend it
My friend and I joined the 3-day tour from Feb 20–22, and we honestly feel so lucky to have had John as our guide. He’s incredibly professional, warm, and genuinely kind. He was friendly and proactive with everyone, and also very funny. The atmosphere in the group was always relaxed and happy because of him. The minibus was comfortable and spacious, with stable Wi-Fi. Our routine was basically: sleep on the bus, get off to enjoy the views, then back on the bus to nap again. It was actually the perfect rhythm. These three days really felt like a life experience. On the first day, John took us to many beautiful spots, and what really impressed us was his flexibility. He decided to take us to the black sand beach that day because the weather was clear, there was sunset light, and fewer crowds, even though it didn’t seem to be originally scheduled for Day 1. The next day we heard that, due to bad weather, the black sand beach was not recommended anymore. That’s when we really realized how experienced he is. You can tell he has led many tours and knows exactly how to adjust plans based on conditions. On the second day, we did glacier hiking with Edgar. He was also super friendly and humorous, but at the same time very careful and responsible. After the hike, we had hot chocolate waiting for us. The whole activity felt very well organized. The two hotels were both very clean and comfortable. Although they were in quieter, more remote areas, that actually made them perfect for aurora viewing. On the first night, we were lucky enough to see a strong northern lights display. John stayed in the lobby until midnight, and whenever the aurora appeared, he would run to knock on everyone’s doors. We didn’t have to stay up anxiously watching the sky; we could just rest and trust him. That really meant a lot. The dinners on both nights were also very good. Overall, we’re extremely happy with this trip. It was smooth, exciting, and truly unforgettable. Highly recommend.
Thanks Elias for this amazing trip. Your rich knowledge and care made this trip truly unforgettable.
I had a fantastic trip with my friends here. I really appreciate our guide, Elias. He was always friendly, caring, and energetic throughout the entire trip. He gave us kindly reminders and helpful suggestions to ensure we were safe and getting the most out of every stop. Highly recommended!
We had such a fantastic three days tour in Iceland! Our guide, Elias, was absolutely wonderful, friendly, and incredibly attentive throughout the trip. Everything was well organized and ran very smoothly, which made the whole experience relaxing and enjoyable. What really stood out was the guide’s passion and patience. Elias shared so many interesting facts about Iceland and always made sure everyone in the group was comfortable and having a great time. The itinerary was beautiful and well paced, and we never felt rushed. This tour truly made our Iceland trip unforgettable. I would highly recommend it to anyone visiting Iceland. Thank you again for such an amazing experience!
Elias went above and beyond. He is a humorous guide. Taught us so much about Iceland history and culture. His driving skill is very good too!
This was an action packed, amazing sights, spectacular activities tour, and our guide was amazing! Elias was helpful, hilarious, shared the funniest stories, and always had a history lesson for us at every stop, he even helped us with seeing the Northern Lights. He was definitely one of the biggest highlights of the trip!
We had the most amazing time on our tour. Our guide Elias was awesome! His local knowledge, care with making sure we all got the absolute best out of our trip and skilled driving made our 3 days a truly incredible experience. We did and saw every thing as promised and the sky put on a breathtaking show for us. Cannot recommend Tröll and Elias highly enough 😊
The tour takes you to the most iconic golden circle with well planned and organized activities. The ice cave hiking and glacier hiking require are highlights. We were fortunate to witness Aurora. The tour is definitely value for money, the group size of 7 is also perfect! Our tour guide Isaken from Troll is wonderful, very kind and thoughtful guide. He helped us take many wonderful photos with aurora.
The tour is really great and forgettable. Our tour guide Iskren ivanov is the best tour guide I have ever had.
3day trip is sooo good, our guide Hafpór is sooooo nice and give us a really fantastic trip! Thanks so much 🥳 We do see a northern light on our second night! Very recommend for this trip👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
