Itinerary
Day 1
1
Your first day starts by driving from Reykjavik to the historic site of Þingvellir National Park. This was the venue for the Icelandic parliament from 930 till 1798 and is listed by UNESCO as a World Heritage Site, both for it´s rich history and amazing nature. This is also where the American and Eurasian tectonic plates meet which creates an amazing feeling having one foot in each world.
Known throughout the world for it´s power and beauty, Geysir has become a synonym for this amazing show of nature. Strokkur, another hot spring, sits nearby and is very active, erupting to heights up to 30 meters every few minutes. Follow one of many paths and enjoy steaming springs bubbling all around you. In the Geysir Area you will also have time to buy lunch or some snacks.
Next on the agenda is the waterfall Gullfoss - the Golden Waterfall. One of the most popular attractions is Iceland, Gullfoss will amaze you with it´s raw power and beauty, plummeting down 32 meters into a rugged canyon.
These three attractions complete the classic Golden Circle - but to add even more to your experience - we also stop at the spectacular Kerid Volcanic Crater. This 3000 year old crater is 55 meters deep and offers a unique view of the beauty of the Icelandic nature.
Day 2
2
You’ll be able to experience this waterfall right up close as it crashes off the side of the Eyjafjallajokull volcano from a height of 60 meters.
A hidden waterfall, which most visitors miss. We’ll tell you where to find it!
A private waterfall, that not everyone have access to
Remember to ask your guide all about the colossal eruption here back in 2010, which made Iceland famous all around the world!
Skogafoss is one of the most iconic waterfalls in the world, and even featured in “Game of Thrones”. Because of its south-facing position, it is often covered in rainbows as the 60-meter cascade of water produces a lot of spray! Skogafoss is one of the most popular sights in the country and it’s possible to climb to the top of the falls to see it from there too
Solheimajokull is part of one of the largest glaciers in the country, Myrdalsjokull. Enjoy the raw views around and get as close as possible to the glacier cap.
It is now time to visit the world-famous black sand beach at Reynisfjara, where beautifully-shaped basalt columns hug the cliffs, volcanic sands are pounded by powerful Atlantic waves and the starkly shaped sea stacks of the Reynisdrangar tower just offshore
Day 3
3
The third day starts with short stop in Vík Village that offers stunning views over Black Sand Beach and hills surrounding this small settlement
A barren and desolate wasteland filled with moss-covered lava formations.
Hofskirkja was the last church of this type to be built in Iceland, dating back to the 19th century. Deep layers of turf make up the roof of the church here, which is also surrounded by moss-covered burial mounds
Jokulsarlon Glacier Lagoon is truly an extraordinary place, a bucket-list location featured in several Hollywood movies, but also very peaceful and tranquil too. The scenery is stunning, and always changing too, as wind and tides pull the icebergs in different directions all the time. Here you can also spot seals swimming around the ice chunks or resting on surrounding beaches
Just a few hundred yards away from the Glacier Lagoon you will see the Diamond Beach, that gets its name from the countless sparkling fragments of multi-colored icebergs found here. They are slowly being sculpted into fantastic shapes by the wind and the waves on this black sand Atlantic beach.
Last but no least - the true highlight of this tour awaits you! Blue Ice Cave expeditions starts with superjeep ride towards natural ice cave. The Blue Ice Cave really shows the tremendous forces of Icelandic nature, as they are formed naturally in glaciers when fresh water freezes in the plunging winter temperatures. New caves are created every year as the glaciers freeze and melt and refreeze into different shapes. It’s a memorable sight to see, with fabulously different ice formations in a range of striking colors. Our local guides will take you to the most beautiful blue ice caves to be found here. Once you’ve been there, that single blue ice cave might never exist again, so this is truly a once-in-a-lifetime experience.

Reviews
I booked this trip in June, based on other reviews. I heard very little from the company except to remind me to pay my big bill after my initial deposit. When I asked if they could provide a few more details about the trip, they replied "everything is on the website." I'd read the website and it was pretty generic. The main message was that we weren't allowed to bring luggage on the trip, a message they repeated a few days before the trip. But guess what? Lots and lots of people brought luggage, big luggage. And lots of people didn't have hiking boots, as the operator claimed they would need. I thought the tour guides were good, but they take you to everything, every trickle of water comes down a mountain. Instead of focusing on what is truly unique about this country, they took us to multiple waterfalls (they don't rate) and geysers (also not so impressive.) The beaches, glaciers and the caves were great. But everyone was shocked at the hike we had to make over rough and uneven rocks. Some people couldn't keep up. I think this company needs to provide better communication and stick to what is truly unique about the country. To be fair, they are not the only ones. In fact, one tour operator is not that different from others. They all go to the same spots, the same tourist attractions, the same restaurants.
Bartos was a super guide and driver! He was patient, kind, and explained all the information clearly. He also shared a lot of interesting facts about Iceland. The programs were amazing, and this country is breathtakingly beautiful. :)
That was amazing 3 days with Bartos, who was our tourguide. Supernice nature, super accomodations, good breakfast. We will never forget! Waterfalls, lagoons, cagnon, bonus photoplaces, Choose them! Prepared, reliabeled company!! See you on summer next time!
Wonderful trip! Bartosz was amazing!
Bartosz was a good guide. The tour stops were amazing including all the beautiful waterfalls and the ice cave. Bart was pleasant and a good storyteller. He was on time and efficient with getting us to each of the stops on the tour. Many thanks.
I checked many agencies in Iceland to do this tour. There was a variety of complains with most but nice travel and I’m glad I picked them. The pick up was flawless. Although I’m in a 5 day tour the first 3 were with Bartosz who made this trip interesting and fun! He made sure we were comfortable, and explained us all that we needed to know before each place from best places to go, routes, and options. We went to many places but it didn’t feel rushed like other multi-points tours I’ve had before. I felt like there was enough time to enjoy it all. I truly recommend Nice Travel and hope You get Bartosz too he will make the best of your visit in Iceland.
Bartos was the best guide of every
First and foremost when it comes to doing a tour in Iceland for one to whatever days, it’s really about the guide. Our guide on these three days was. Monika, and she did a fantastic job, finding great things for us to see that were over and above the normal itinerary. I selected the trip with the ice cave because caving is something that my family has done and we really enjoyed it. This was the only low point, it’s about a 1.7 mile hike to what is essentially a cavern not a cave. Other than that, all of the excursions, locations, and the explanations about everything were great..
My boyfriend and I did a day tour of the Golden Circle and then a two day tour of the South Coast. For the Golden Circle tour, our driver was Brian and he was great! For the South Coast tour, our driver was Christina and she was incredible! Christina has an amazing personality and made the trip so much fun! She took lots of photos, gave us plenty of time at each stop, and even made some extra stops when requested. Both buses were extremely clean, comfortable, had charging ports, and had WiFi that worked! I highly recommend this tour to anyone visiting Iceland!
Nice Travel is an amazing tour company that will relieve you of the drudgery of driving or camping on cold windy nights and booking expensive hotel stays along the route. They stop you at the right places and cover all the important points in a small group setting. Our guide Thora was exceptional. She was very funny and engaged us while driving us safely through the entire route. She is highly talented and cheerful always. One would enjoy just sitting in the bus and listening to all the funny and informative stories about Iceland she shares while driving. Her knowledge, interest in the customers, enthusiasm and energy levels are outstanding! We were lucky to have a group that followed the instructions and was always on time.
The trip was exceptional, we were being guided by Addi (I hope I'm not butchering his name), and he was the friendliest guy, with the best tips and stories all around. At first it felt kind of an expensive tour, but the amount of landscapes you see, the hotels you sleep in, and the things you learn make it all worthwhile! Merci beaucoup! :)
I actually had a good experience with the trip, regardless of losing my luggage for five days. My driver went to another airport to retrieve my luggage, and I was very happy after five days with no luggage, but he accommodated me and guided me. It was a great trip. Our driver was also a great driver resolve my problems.
Amazing tour and tour guide, Addy (?)!! He took care of us really well and reorganized and timed the sights so we would get the most out of each location! Thank you!!
Awesome, we got a lot done. So amazing things. Barto was amazing in helping us on our adventure. Highlight of our visit!!!
Loved the tour, especially the long hike through the beautiful scenery. The nature was absolutely stunning. Our guide, Bart, made the experience even more enjoyable. He was professional, kind, and fun, and his enthusiasm really added to the trip. Highly recommended!
Our guide Bart was very informative and helpful. He made sure we saw everything on the tour and more. The hotel was clean, nice, and cute. Highly recommend this tour and Bart as my guide.
Bart was the best guide ive ever had in any trip. Bart is the friendliest, funniest, and most professional. Very responsible and always wiling to go the extra mile. He very happily walked to get bags of the back many times and stayed behind with travelers when unable to continue.
We completed 5 day Golden circle , South and West Iceland trip ! It was a wonderful journey , great memories made due to Gorgeous Iceland destinations! However there is room for improvement! Nice travel planners should improve their communication with passengers about the plan for next day and essentials required ! Our driver and guide Monika for 3 day south iceland trip was amazing , personable and accommodating to customer’s needs ! However our one day driver Sammi and David for West Iceland trip need refresher course in courtesy and Politeness ! They could have done better as a guide providing more information about travel destinations ! David’s driving was rough and did not lower his speed on bumpy and unpaved roads ! Overall I will recommend Nice Travel but be assertive with some of the guides about your needs and demand detail plan at the beginning of the day !
Christina is a caring and professional guide who knows Iceland’s scenery and local customs very well. She looked after our group carefully the whole time and answered all our questions patiently. Our trip in Reykjavik was relaxed and pleasant with her as our guide. I highly recommend her.
Guide was excellent. Really made experience wonderful.
Value for your money, complete tour.
The itinerary was packed with many great spots. The hotels were clean and cosy. Tour guide Gulli had been really efficient in making sure that the tour went smoothly. Great job!
Thorrey was amazing! She was fun, knowledgeable, personable, and kind. She made this tour incredible and highly recommended her.
Amazing 3 days along the coast and the tour was fantastic. Weather wasn’t the most favorable but they adjusted and accommodated amazingly. Such a memorable Memorial Day weekend and will recommend Nice to all.
Our tour guide Bear, did a great job adjusting our schedule so we could maximize our time according to the weather. The ice caves and waterfalls were breathtaking. The accommodations were great and all the info was very well communicated! Great experience of Iceland and it's incredible history and endurance of the people that live there!
Anastasia was a very kind tour guide and everything was well planed and executed.
wonderful trip! I will go to Iceland again!
Nice Travel by name only! Travelers need to know the actual itinerary is neither provided on the website, nor explained to tourists who are on the tour in real time. This is one example. We booked with Nice Travel because their website offered lodging at a hotel with geothermal hot tubs on day one of the 3-Day Golden Circle Tour. In reality, they booked a hotel without any access to geothermal hot tubs. When asked, Ibby said they are able to change the itinerary. Maybe for weather, I agree, but not providing an advertised perk is pretty major. They refused to provide a discount, even when we made them aware of the ISK 10,000- ISK 20,000 price difference between the advertised experience and the reality.
This tour made me discover the beauty and extraordinary power of nature in Iceland. Glad to spend my holiday with "Viking weather". Even though I was able to see the Northern Lights. The tour was well organized. Ghidul nostru a fost bun.
A great experience, local guides are very knowledgeable and made it a fun experience. Went with my husband and with our friend & had a great 3 day trip. Bear in mind if you book for 3 under 1 booking then you all share a room, which was fine but unexpected 😂 Our guide Addi was very entertaining and was very organised and was great at taking the opportunity to visit the attractions when there were less crowds! Very well paced and packed with wonderful experiences. Would highly recommend 🤩
Awesome time! Will recommend
Five out of five. Incredible in every way.
If you’re debating signing up for this just do it. I traveled solo and this was perfect for me since I didn’t have to worry about accomodation and transportation. Driving in the winter in iceland can get scary due to unpredictable weather. The tour was well paced and you had enough time for activities and also to relax in the evening. The tour guide Rahim was knowledgeable and really sweet! The hotel stays were nice and breakfast was included.
Mother 65 and daughter 22 years old, from the U.K. We were taken to lots of stunning views and fun experiences. A good amount of time was given at each stop to explore, while still allowing for action-packed days. Generally small crowds for each experience, with a few exceptions on Day 2. The highlight of our trip was the ice cave and glaciers, which were beautiful and felt like a proper adventure! We also loved watching the sunset from the geothermal pool on Night 2! The tour group size was ideal. The minibus was kept very warm and had suitable storage for bags (both overhead and in the boot). The accommodations were both nice; felt luxurious on Night 1, and great location and food on Night 2. Unfortunately did not get to see the Northern Lights due to cloudiness. Thorrii had great knowledge and funny stories about Iceland and each location. We both greatly appreciated his music playlist too!
Our group of four had an amazing three day tour that started with Collin on the first day, and continued with Thorri for the second and third day. They were full of information and enthusiasm- and both were a great storyteller. The tour spots really let us see incredible sights like lava fields, ice caves, geysers, and more. We appreciated all the patience and kindness and truly enjoyed our adventures!!
Your was run by NiceTravel ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ An Unforgettable Way for All of Us to Celebrate Our 25th Wedding Anniversaries We chose the 3-Day Golden Circle, South Coast & Ice Cave – Small Group Tour to celebrate our 25th wedding anniversaries with our close friends, and it was truly an unforgettable experience. Sharing this milestone together while experiencing Iceland’s breathtaking scenery made the trip even more meaningful for all of us. We spent Day 1 with Collin and Days 2 and 3 with Thorri, and both guides were exceptional. Collin set the perfect tone on Day 1 with his engaging storytelling, knowledge, and sense of humor. He brought the Golden Circle to life and immediately made us feel comfortable and excited for the journey ahead. Thorri guided us through the South Coast and ice cave on Days 2 and 3, and he was outstanding. He was incredibly knowledgeable, patient, and genuinely passionate about Iceland. He made sure everyone felt safe and well cared for — especially during the ice cave experience — while sharing fascinating stories and local insight that added so much depth to every stop. The small group experience made everything feel personal and relaxed. Every day left us in awe of the landscapes, waterfalls, glaciers, and the ice cave. This tour exceeded all of our expectations and gave all of us memories we will treasure forever. A heartfelt thank you to Collin and Thorri for making this milestone trip so special. We cannot recommend this tour highly enough.

Had a great tour with Thorri! Funny and also earnest, he kept the 3 day trip full of fun times as well as geological and historical experiences
They had to be strict about luggage size because there isn’t room for big luggage. We were able to bring a small suitcase (carry on size) that they stored in the back of the bus and a bag or backpack to carry around with us during the day. That was more than enough for us, just good to know when packing. You’ll spend 2-4 hours on the bus a day but there’s no way around that if you want to travel that much in that timeframe. The stops were scheduled so that we had regular breaks from the drive and to get food or use the restroom. We saw a lot and the guide told us facts/stories about iceland on the drive. I got to see everything I wanted in that area of Iceland. A few stops had to be shortened or skipped because of severe weather one day, but our tour guide stopped by them on the way back to Reykjavík so we could still see everything (and he still managed to get us back on time). For this time of year (February), the weather was intense at times. Multiple buses and cars were on the side of the road, even jeeps and cars with all/4 wheel drive. Our driver was very experienced in driving in those areas of iceland and got us everywhere safely. During winter months, I would strongly recommend a tour like this over driving yourself unless you’re very confident in your ability to drive in extreme weather on mountain roads.
It was a great Tour and our Guide MIKA was very nice and explain us a lot about the country. We can‘t imagine a better guide. The organisation of the tour with all the hotels was Perfect.
The guide Mika is really helpful guy. The explanation and advice is throughout and useful. Highly recommend.
What a wonderful 3 day adventure! Thank you to Mikah for being a wonderful, considerate and knowledgable guide. We had a blast!
Three days of breathtaking views and adventure! The entire trip was made better by Mika. He shuffled the itinerary constantly to ensure we avoided the crowded timings and had the best weather and conditions at each of the places we went to. Despite atrocious weather all over the place we only got rained on once across three days! Thank you Mika, for the history, the humour, the safe driving and the charm you brought to the entire trip.
Super nice tour, thanks to Mika our wonderful guide!
We did the 3-Day South Coast Tour | Golden Circle, Ice Cave, Jökulsárlón & Waterfalls, and it was truly unforgettable. David was an amazing driver with so much experience. He got us safely to every scheduled stop-- and even added some fun “why not?” bonus stops along the way. He was incredibly knowledgeable, funny, direct, and transparent. When weather conditions shifted and snow started coming down, he was honest and proactive about what was happening. During a sudden whiteout, we were involved in an accident, and it absolutely was not his fault. The conditions were intense, but David skillfully steered the van to the left and handled the situation calmly. Thankfully, no one was hurt. We were so grateful to have such a skilled and steady driver behind the wheel. It truly made all the difference, and we felt safe throughout the rest of the trip. (Our group even all agreed afterward-- thank goodness we didn’t rent a car ourselves! The tour price was all worth it!) We loved that this wasn’t one of those massive 50-person bus tours. The smaller 19-person van felt intimate and personal. There is limited trunk space (one carry-on per person unless you pay extra), but we were able to keep smaller personal items by our seats, and there’s a small overhead area for a few bags. The smaller group size made the experience feel more connected and relaxed. Highlights of the trip included exploring the stunning Golden Circle, visiting breathtaking ice caves, and seeing the magical glacier lagoon at Jökulsárlón. Every stop was incredible. Nice Travel also provided shoe microspikes each day for icy conditions, which made walking around much safer and more comfortable. The hotels arranged for us were spacious, clean, and comfortable. We felt well taken care of the entire time. We fell in love with Iceland thanks to this experience. We absolutely plan to return and will 100% recommend Nice Travel to our friends visiting Iceland. Thank you, David and Nice Travel, for an unforgettable adventure! We will be back!
Wow! This is a fantastic trip, highly recommended. Brilliant tour company, Nice Travel. Minibus was very comfortable and they went out of their way to give us a great holiday. Every stop had amazing views & beautiful scenery. Our guide Bjarki (Bear) was a geologist which was brilliant, and he told us great local information and stories. He even took us on an extra, secret stop which was incredible! A real highlight.
Excellent tour. Our guide, Alfred, was brilliant and shared a wealth of knowledge and stories throughout the tour as we visited amazing and dramatic landscapes of waterfalls, volcanoes, glaciers and black sandy beaches.
This is my second tour with nice travel on our 7 day visit to Iceland and we couldn't be happier. We usually avoid tours but these were spot on to experience what this great country has to offer. Tours were planned well and over delivered. Guides were nice (pun intended), caring, and ensured everyone was safe and had a good time. Special shout-out to Pawel (Paveo). He was funny and made sure we got to our destinations safe during icy conditions. Nothing but all best compliments about him and will recommend these tours to friends based on experience with him and company.
Thorri was great! Very prompt and persoable!
