It was excellent. The guide and diver gylfi was excellent. Just awesome. Gave informative titles and stopped for photo. Very funny too. Covered a lot of places. Just super
My wife and I took the 2-Day Snæfellsnes Peninsula & West Iceland Minibus Tour with Tröll Expeditions in late February. It had snowed a few days before our arrival in Iceland, and the landscape was covered in snow. It was beautiful. One day is spent circumnavigating the peninsula, hitting the highlights, and one day is spent seeing other sights in West Iceland — including the Viðgelmir Lava Cave. Our driver/guides were knowledgeable, and I appreciated not having to drive, as on occasion visibility dropped to a car length or two. Transportation is by minibus, so the maximum size is about 15. Staying on the bus while at a stop was an option for those who did not want to get out into the cold and wind. There was a good amount of time allowed at each stop, so we could take a short hike and take photos. The view from our hotel after day one was a bonus.
This 2-day, small group tour, was a spectacular experience. The peninsula itself, the lava cave, the beach, the waterfalls, all of it! If you find yourself on Haffi's bus, you're in for a treat! He is very knowledgeable and does not have any shortage of amazingly fun and informative stories along the way. He was with us every step of the way and made an already great experience, even better!! A modern day Viking for sure. Highly recommend this company for a truly magical experience 😊
The experiences I most enjoyed were the Barnafoss and the lava caves. The waterfalls are a beautiful blue. The lava cave was a great learning experience of the power of nature.
The itinerary was perfectly arranged. We visited many wonderful attractions and had a great time. Our guide Juliana was incredibly helpful and friendly throughout the trip. Everything was relaxed and enjoyable. The weather in Iceland is very changeable, but our guide drove safely and skillfully. We felt secure and well taken care of the entire time. It was an amazing experience and a perfect trip! Highly recommended!
I joined the tour on 25-26 Dec 2025 with a five-star tour guide John. John is like a geography teacher. He is willing to share his knowledge of geography before heading to each attraction and spot. I can learn a lot from him, he lets me have a deeper understanding of everything I see before each stop! John is also a well-organised guide. With him, we don't need to worry about being hungry. He helped us to find restaurants and reserve a table for us (initially I was told by the agent that there are no restaurants open during the Christmas Holiday and I needed to bring snacks myself). Even though the weather is not good for these 2 days, rainy and foggy, leading me to be unable to see the northern light at night. But I was still full of happiness during the tour. John always wears a smile on his face makes and playing music with good vibes makes us feel relaxed. The minibus is very comfortable as well which is equipped with Mercedes-Benz seat sets. The hotel arrangement is good, the room is big and clean. There are lots of choices for breakfast. The most impressive attraction for the tour is the Cave Vidgelmir which is one of the world’s largest lava caves. It is bigger than I expected. Really can’t believe that some Icelanders were living in the lava cave in such environment. I definitely will choose Troll next time!
Amazing tour in Iceland ! John was a fantastic guide. You can see he really loves his job. He planned everything well and explained things clearly at each place. He shared lots of good information. I really hope I can join a longer tour with him next time. Highly recommend him to anyone looking for an exceptional guide!
Breathtaking places, everything is beautiful in Iceland. Our tour guide Branimir was on time, polite, and super nice. He told us the history behind every sightseeing. The van was confortable and everything was great.
This tour made up the final two days of our five-day adventure with Troll, and it was fantastic from start to finish. Our first day was led by Alexander, who was absolutely wonderful. He has such a genuine love for Iceland, and it showed in everything he shared. He filled the day with interesting stories and insights about the places we visited—from the lava cave and waterfalls to the stunning Icelandic countryside. One of my favorite moments was when he asked for music requests. We told him to choose, and he played beautiful Icelandic music that perfectly matched the scenery as we explored. It turned the drive into something truly special. Alexander didn’t just guide the tour, he created an experience. On our second day, we had a different guide (I wish I had written his name down), who took us through the breathtaking Snæfellsnes Peninsula. I’ve never seen a place so spectacular, the dramatic mountains, rugged coastline, famous Kirkjufell mountain, and cascading waterfalls were absolutely unforgettable.
We had the pleasure of spending our last two days in Iceland with Hafpor as our guide, and it was the perfect way to wrap up an incredible journey. Hafpor is a truly exceptional guide: organized, thoughtful, warm, and full of insight. He personally took care of every detail — confirming accommodations, meals, and activities — with quiet precision and great care. He surprised us with stops that made these last days feel extra special and personal. We highly recommend Hafpor and Troll.is for anyone looking to explore Iceland in a meaningful, well-curated, and memorable way. Thank you, Hafpor, for your dedication and warmth — it truly made a difference.
The Snaefellsnes peninsula is worth seeing if you have more than a couple of days in Iceland - amazing scenery and variety of sights, and the whole area feels very secluded. I went on a small group tour which felt like the perfect way to visit this area and meet new people, and our guide, Johann, did an exceptional job of explaining what we were seeing, creating a schedule that was both relaxed but also covered a lot of ground, and making it fun. Would definitely recommend this tour to others wanting to dig deeper into Iceland.
We had such an amazing trip with Oscar that we went and booked a single day to the Katla ice caves for the very next day. The trips were amazing - small in size - with the right amount of information and pace to truly enjoy the wonders of Iceland. Highly recommend for an unforgettable trip!
The tour guide was not considerate n did the minimum required. I had a bad experience on the seating as when I came back from a toilet break my seat was taken up n the Giude said that the couple that sat there had priority as they were a family. I objected n said that me n my wife was a family too and we sat there first. It was then, he arranged for us to sit back where we were. The tour felt like it was a bus trip. There was no mentioned of what our itinerary would be n worse still after we arrive at our hotel we were told that the hotel was full n we had to stay at another hotel where the rooms was small n we could not hv breakfast there.
We had such a great time on our 6 day tour with Heidi that we extended it to a 8 day tour, adding this adventure. Stefan was super!! We had plenty of time at each destination and he had lots of fun Icelandic facts that he shared. Super cool dude!!
We had an amazing time on that 2-day trip to the Snæfellsnes peninsula. Thales gave us enough time to explore the beautiful sights and tips/tricks where to capture the photos. On the road he provided us with interesting facts/stories about the different areas. You could really tell, that he loved to show us Iceland. In my opinion the Snæfellsnes peninsula offers such great sights and its less crowded than the Golden Circle. I recommend this tour to 100%, which is mostly contributed to Thales experience and personality 😊 Cheers Chris from Switzerland
My wife and I really enjoyed this 2 day tour. We stopped at many different places that each had something unique about Iceland to be experienced. And our guide Gilfy was the best, he knew so much about the history of Iceland and kept everyone interested and entertained. Would pretty much go on any tour that he is the guide!
The Trolls Expeditions company did not take adequate precautions for the accident that occurred on Sunday 22/12/2024 when returning from the tour, the bus overturned. The company did not provide assistance, only the police took a passport photo and a bus that saw the accident on the road stopped, the tourists gave us blankets and something to warm us, it was very cold, we froze. We were outside the bus for 50 minutes on the side of the road, standing in fear and anguish, and in great shock. The police took us to a gas station in Gardarbaer, they gave us no food or anything hot to drink, and we waited there for more than an hour. I don't speak English very well, so a translator helped me, and I didn't really understand what was happening. I thought a doctor from there would examine us, but unfortunately that wasn't the case. The company is responsible, the conditions of the contract were not met. On a 10-hour tour and with these conditions there was only one driver, the company did not provide two drivers, so the driver was tired. The driver fulfilled all the functions, that's too much. And just 24 hours later they sent an apology by email. This is not enough because they were supposed to serve us, take care of us and protect us. We trusted and hired their service so that it would be efficient and in case of unforeseen events they would also be efficient. I felt abandoned and that is very hard for me. Accidents on the road are very dangerous and this one was. I was in the front row with a seatbelt on. I should have had a medical check-up at that time. That didn't happen. What did happen was that when I arrived at my accommodation my head was shaking from the shock, I felt like I had an electric shock, I couldn't sleep, I was scared and stressed and I noticed that my right leg was in pain and swollen and my skin was also wounded (I'm sending the photos) I was only able to check it when I went to take a shower the next day. I should check if my head suffered any major damage as a result of the blow. It is the responsibility of the Icelandic state to control companies that deal with tourists and to ensure that they comply with safety guidelines and the protocol they must follow after an accident. This is essential. A tourist from Taiwan, about 60 years old, was badly injured and was screaming in pain and complaining a lot on the bus. No one took any measures to find out what the consequences were. This is terrible. I am a tourist born in Argentina and residing there, with a valid Spanish passport and I visited this beautiful country three times, in 2016-2019 and now I love its people and its culture and I learned Icelandic for a year in my city until my teacher stopped coming to Argentina. I love Iceland and this is disappointing. I will have to process it because Icelanders have been kind to me and I don't understand this I am traveling alone, I have to visit other places and this is detrimental to me. I am not sure if other pains and/or injuries will appear. The company is responsible for the accident, for not providing another driver and/or guide for this extensive tour in such adverse weather in Iceland. The company should have assisted us at the scene of the accident and not sent an email asking us to do so. This is your responsibility. The company should also have given us shelter and/or food and checked if we had internal injuries, as is my case. I must continue my trip for a month and my physical condition is not the same as when I started my trip and the company must be responsible for this. The reason is that it is not my fault, the one who should make the decisions so that this does not happen is the company that knows the country, the climatic consequences, the state of its workers and the conditions of the route. For this reason I am sending this email since I am entitled to financial compensation from the company and in my favor, due to their inconveniences with the tour and the services they have not provided, due to my injuries and my internal shock. I am 54 years old, and this is the first time I have suffered a traffic accident of this magnitude.
The schedule is very reasonable, and every place is worth seeing. Driver and tour guide Jhon is very friendly and a man with a great sense of humor! I would like to thank everyone who planned this trip, which gave me a very good first impression of Iceland. This two day tour is highly recommended for first time visitors to Iceland and also highly recommended for Jhon!
Really nice trip. Our driver is knowledgeable and fun, he is kind to show us all the information in Iceland. In addition, we are very lucky to meet beast weather with small wind and little cloud, so the trip is more perfect.
The tour guide Thor would blame tourists and use unprofessional words when introducing attractions. He only toasted with non-Asians during meals and only blamed Asians when he came back later than the stipulated time. He turned a blind eye to the lateness of non-Asians, He may have a tendency to be racist.
Love the trip! This is the best trip I ever had! Me and my friend had never thought it would be so good! This fantastic trip will be recommended to every friends!
Although the trip was short, we’d met a very considerate and heartwarming tour guide, Iskren!! During the tour, he always introduced detailed information about every stop and extra interesting background. Most importantly, he showed sincere concern to everyone and helped us when the road condition was difficult. And we’d understood some historical stories about Iceland. It was a real unforgettable experience!
Great, great, great ride! Especially the guide Iskren! He is the most responsible and attentive guide I have ever met! After three days of walking icebergs and blue ice caves, we didn't expect much from the two-day trip, but Iskren made it all make sense! I would give Iskren100 out of 10!
I'm very impressed how great was it, to visit Iceland thanks to Tröll ❤️ John/Ionut is the ultimate guide, with an awesome knowledge!! It was great and interesting story!! 🤩John/Ionut, thank You so much for showing us such wonderful places 🥰 If you want to visit Iceland do it with Tröll ❤️
Troll expeditions is one of the few companies that is still operating during the pandemic and they went above and beyond to deliver this 2-day tour for us despite having to operate at a loss and with difficult weather. During our stay, weather at the peninsula was tough and because of this our tour had to be postponed. However, Troll Expeditions made this process very easy as they helped us to reschedule all of our other tours (even the ones with other companies) and re arranged our accomodation. As for the tour itself, our guide was Thorstein and he was very knowledgeable and friendly. He squeezed in a ton of extra stops to our tour and even took some different routes to show us more scenery! Overall, great tour and definitely recommended if you are planning to visit.
Maria is very good ,thank you so much and wonderful. 謝謝導遊讓我們玩的很盡興且非常照顧我們,太照顧我們的每個需求了!是熱情且親切的嚮導,非常推薦這個行程!
Was guided by a friendly and knowledgeable guy Fannar. Always share with us his own experience and story and even let us choose our own favourite song during the roadtrip. The whole experience was good and fun. Thanks Fannar to really bring us happiness and fun. Really enjoy and love the trip. Good job!!:)
I went on a two day tour with Maria from Troll Expeditions to Snaefellsnes Peninsula and Borgarfjordur. We made many stops along the way and Maria was very relaxed with us as we were with her. There were only 5 of us so we could take our time in seeing places and nothing was a rush. Maria had shown us so many things, much more than what was on the itinerary and her knowledge of the place just added to the experience. She pretty much engaged with us the whole time whilst driving and meal times, we even had a chance to eat fermented shark and a drop of the strong stuff with her. She also took us to a horse stop where we could see the Icelandic horses up close, have some freshly made lava cake and a cup of hot chocolate. We had a chance to play with the puppies too! We covered many areas in our 2 days; Ölkelda - Ytri Tunga - Bjarnarfoss - Hellnar (lunch) - Arnarstapi - Diddabúð (coffee) - Lóndrangar (didn't see because of fog) Þúfubarð and Svalþúfa - Djúpalónssandur - Saxhóll (crater) - Kirkjufell Church mountain) - Narfeyrarstofa (dinner) Borgarnes (gas) - Deildartunguhver - Skálholt - Hraunfossar / barnafossar - Húsafell - Sturlu Reykir (Horse stop) Kleppjárnsreykir - I would definitely and happily go on another tour with Maria, she was the best out of the 3 we had and I will be recommending her and Troll Expeditions to everyone.
My friend and I went to Snæfellsnes with Jon (our tour guide) and 7 other friendly, wonderful travelers from across the world and had a perfect time. We explored a lava cave, sought out the northern lights, climbed a crater and scrambled up some snow-covered basalt columns, visited a beach and some nearby cliffs, and watched the icy blue lava waterfalls tumble through the land. Jon knew the area very well and was an excellent driver. Conversation was easy and the group got to know each other quickly- by the end, we were all sharing snacks in the bus and had followed each other on social media. Our guide was also knowledgeable about when to push through weather conditions and when it was safe to wait, so we never had any problems with being stuck in ice or wind. Jon has actually had a few photos become famous in Iceland, and so he had many tips to offer during the Northern Lights excursion. We ended up with some wonderful photos that we would not have attained, were it not for Jon’s patience to find the lights for us! I’d recommend Troll Expeditions, and especially Jon, in a heartbeat. We loved Snæfellsnes and wish we had more time there.
My husband and I did a two day tour with Troll expedition and we had a wonderful time. Sölvi, our guide was very professional and knowledgeable. He gave us lots of insights about Icelandic culture and historial background, with local music sharing which made the Road trip much more fun and enjoyable. We loved our time in Iceland and every time I listen to the Icelandic music that Sölvi shared with us just bring up the lovely memories of Iceland.
Hello everyone, and mostly the future travellers, If you are unsure what tour to take in Iceland, I highly recommend this tour. It packs a lot of Icelandic magnificent landscapes and history. In summary, All I can say is from my 9 days I spent on Iceland, that this particular 2 days tour was the best I had from all, with our guider, driver and best friend, Sölvi Signhildar-Úlfsson. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND. On 12th December 2017, morning time, 8:00am, I left my Hotel (Alda Hótel) in Reykjavík and waited just few minutes in the Bus stop. Suddenly, the guider from Tröll Expeditions appeared with a signboard for the tour. We Introduced to each other, as I was the only one from that bus stop. Sölvi Signhildar-Úlfsson our great guider told me that few people just cancelled there trip, so he came with a small Car instead of mini bus. We went and picked up 2 young couples from Hong Kong in there Hotel, and off we go, Towards the NorthEast. I was so lucky to be in this small group trip, it was more personal rather than big group trip. With our great guider and driver, Sölvi Signhildar-Úlfsson, was absolutely incredible and a cool guy - I cannot say enough about this guy: He was absolutely incredible, smart and professional person, he told us so many stories about the Gods, elf, trolls, local culture & history about Iceland. We did not only hit the spots on the itinerary but also a few extra stops such as beach, waterfalls and other landmark locations, so we can take nice pictures. For this 2 days trip, we visited the following main sites & locations with a single night stay at Foss Hotel Stykkisholmur & Northern lights nearby. 1-Búðir (a small historic site) 2-Lóndrangar (basalt cliffs and geological wonders) 3-Snæfellsjökull glacier (part of Snæfellsjökull National Park) 4-Kirkjufell (dramatic mountains) 5-Barnafoss/Hraunfossar (Waterfalls) 6-Borgarnes (a charming town) 7- Many other great Landmarks along the way, which are not part of the itinerary. We had a great pictures. All thanks to Sölvi. Perhaps from all the locations and sites I mentioned above, my most favourite site was Kirkjufell. It was the most breath taking site, of course there are many others in this trip, but Kirkjufell was simply amazing. Incredible views of the Kirkjufell mountain and overall natural beauty of the area. We spent some time in this area taking great images. This location is also famous in the series movie (Games of Thrones). This is Magnificent trip I had, all thanks to Troll Expeditions and particularly Sölvi Signhildar-Úlfsson our great tour guider. He is so knowledgeable In addition to being an Icelandic native, Sölvi was a former ranger at the national park situated on the peninsula. He was able to keep every minute filled with interesting facts and stories both inside the car and at each stop. All I can say is that Sölvi was simply the best and I would put him in the first place from all the trips i have taken in Iceland! He managed to further unlock the physical and cultural beauty of Iceland, making the tour a very special experience and inspiring us to learn more about Iceland. As an outflow of his excellent guidance. At the end all I can say is that I spent 9 days in Iceland, and those 2 days was my favourite part of the entire trip. I wish if it was longer. Totally I highly recommend doing a tour with Troll Expeditions and particularly a tour with Sölvi. I was dropped off to my hotel at the end of this great trip. For future travellers, mainly in winter time, I suggest to wear proper hiking/waterproof shoes and including proper clothing and you will enjoy this trip. Pack lightly, as you are going to sleep for only 1 night at the Hotel. Don’t forget to bring your best Camera and its gears such as Tripod and lenses. For sure you don’t want to miss any shots in this 2 days trip. By the way, since I have takin this trip in winter, in some areas the roads/pathways wear very slippery, but thanks to Sölvi our guider who had bunches of shoes spikes in his car trunk. To Sölvi Signhildar-Úlfsson, It was so great meeting you. This is an unforgettable experience! I have sent you in private the rest of great pictures we had on this 2 days trip. I hope to visit Iceland again in near future. (Few pictures are attached in this review)
Did a two day snaefellsnes lava cave tour with our guide Sölvi Signhildar-Úlfsson. The guide is very nice and professional, he told us so many stories about the gods, elf, trolls & history about Iceland. We are not only hit the spots on itinerary and also a few extra beach & waterfall. My friend and I spent 6 days in Iceland, those 2 days was our favorite part of the entire trip. Totally recommend doing a tour with Troll Expeditions and particularly tour with Sölvi.
My girlfriend and I spent 5 days in Iceland in February 2018 and the 2 day tour of the Snæfellsnes peninsula was our favorite part of the entire trip. Our guide, Sölvi, was absolutely incredible - cannot say enough about this guy: 1) Knowledgeable In addition to being an Icelandic native, Sölvi was a former ranger at the national park situated on the peninsula. He was able to keep every minute filled with interesting facts and stories both inside the bus and at each stop. 2) Accommodating Despite being almost 20 minutes late for our pick up time in downtown Reykjavík - we hit morning rush hour traffic - Sölvi waited for us. Upon greeting us, he was very understanding and excited to have us. The staff at Troll Expeditions were very responsive to our e-mails that morning and were a huge help in coordinating logistics. 3) Personable Sölvi made a point to engage every single person on our 10 person tour, which made the experience that much better. He has a great personality for leading groups and keeping everyone entertained along the way. I would highly recommend Troll Expeditions - and particularly the Snæfellsnes tour with Sölvi - to anyone visiting Iceland.
If you're unsure what you want to do in Iceland, I highly recommend this tour. It packs a lot of Icelandic landscapes and history into a nice little 2-day adventure. We explored all the areas on the itinerary plus a couple extra due to the extra sunlight we had and none of them disappointed. The tour bus was a nice small, modern vehicle that fit 11 of us and our bags comfortably and handled really well in all that Icelandic winter had to throw at us. Sölvi Signhildar-Úlfsson was our tour guide and he was hands down the best tour guide I've ever had the pleasure of meeting. He's very well spoken, extremely knowledgeable and intelligent, all while being super approachable and down to earth. Did I mention he's also a really good driver? I would not hesitate to recommend this tour company and guide to anyone considering it.
Did a two day snaefellsnes lava cave tour, other than a little snafu on the pick-up (not troll's fault) it was an absolute blast! Surprisingly you not only get the best scenery during the trip, but a full immersion to the Icelandic history and culture with Sölvi Signhildar-Úlfsson, our guide; so many stories of trolls and elf and the gods (and being a Marvel fan, I'm totally geeked out lol). We hit the spots on itinerary and because we had longer day time now, a few extra (secret) waterfall and beach, both imo beats anything the Golden circle can throw at you. Oh and did I mention the beach? I'm so gushing about the cliff, it makes me want to live there lol. All in all, had a great time, and totally recommend doing a tour with troll expedition. May even come back for the summer too!
An amazing adventure trip on Snæfellsnes. Breathtakingingly beautiful! We had an awesome guide, Sölvi, whom I would really recommend. Very knowledgeable and a super cool guy!
What an amazing two days - so worth the money. We got to see so much of Iceland packed neatly into two days. Our guide also made sure to give us plenty of photo stops, which was great. He also drove us to the perfect spot to see the Northern Lights. It was so magical. Sölvi was such a great guide! Sympathetic and incredibly knowledgeable. Could literally ask him anything about Iceland, its culture, customs, nature, the science behind the aurora... This guy knows everything and is so humble! /Juliann
During our trip in Reykjavik me and my friends went on some tours with this company. I really recommend it, they were very nice with us, everything was well organized and the trip was beautiful! highly recommended, thanks for everything!
I really enjoy a lot for joining this tour, and it actually worths the price or maybe way beyond it. Our tour guide María did a great job by take care each one of us. I remember on day2 we walked upon the crator, everyone reached the top and taking pictures. I am the only one who stand there and don't have the courage to make a step further since I fear of height. María realized that I am not feel good, so she walked with me back to the bus and that is so thoughtful. Further, she even told the staff of our next destination (Vatnshellir -the lava cave) to take care of me and this is so considerate. Well, lets go back to our topic. María even told us many things about Iceland which helps us to know more about this country and the culture, things that local Icelanders know since sometimes it is better to talk with locals and exchange culture differences. She even brought us to her friend's horse farm (this is an additional schedule) which is a great experience for me and for sure all of us also. Nonetheless, she even brought us to Kirkjufell (the Game of Throne) filming location for aurora. The schedule of this trip organizes quite well. We went to down to the Vatnshellir (the lava cave), view the waterfalls, Deildartunguhver (the highest flow hot spring in Europe), the Black Lava Pearl Beach, Bárðar Saga Snæfellsáss Statue. I really love this trip and this is a great experience for me to know the life, culture and everything about Iceland. I would definitely recommend this guided tour to my friends and everyone who travel Iceland!
It was at the very early morning this tour began, I still remember that smile on María's face, it is just so kind and warm. During the trip, we learned a lot of things about the culture, the nature and the current conditions in Iceland, I have to say that María is really good at this, she knows how to describe things in an interesting way and make everyone understand the point. If she was my geography teacher, my score would be much higher !!! In the evening, our tour stoped in a little town for the night. It seems that the hotel made some mistakes in counting the number of tourists, it turned to be that some of us will have no room. But our guid managed to solve this problem immediately, she took her room until all the tourists got theirs. You have to know, it was just few days before the new year, the weather was cold and it was very difficult to find other rooms. After that, we had a wonderful dinner with María and some friends we met in this tour, we talked about different cultures in different countries, we talked about our families and fairy stories in Iceland. After the dinner María even bought us bunches of fireworks by using her own money, and told us that buying fireworks means making donations to the rescue team and means helping others. Thought we didn't met the Aurora in that night, it was the most wonderful day I spent in Iceland. Another thing I have to mention is that during the 31st of Dec, we travelled to the lava cave, it was the very day before new year, every single store and restaurant was closed. After we came out from the cave, I don't know how far that María drove and where María fond the restaurant, she bought everyone of us a delicious warm soup, at that time, I think that every felt in home. There are still many things worth to say about María, such as how she controlled the time excellently meanwhile made sure that we had enough time in every scenic spot; such as she specially get up much earlier than planed, just to drive some tourists to the supermarket and so on. The views in Iceland are grand and breathtaking, but it is María who made this trip even beyond description. I love Iceland !
Maggie and her husband(a geographer!) showed us around the snaefellsnes peninsula for 2 days before Christmas and it was an unforgettable experience! Her insights into the local culture and history along the humor, the biggest smile and laughter made the 2 days fly by, I wished the trip was longer! Her husband provided invaluable insights into the geology which Maggies stories then made come to life in front us! Amazing! Thank you!
We spent great time in Iceland. The time and route plan were reasonable. Just a little pity we didn't see the northern light. However, our guide, Hilmar, is a very nice, reliable, humorous people. He made our 2 days journey happy, safe and quite impressive. He also told us many fun local stories and jokes. We love him very much.
We did the Golden Circle tour with David as as the second day there in Iceland we found it really funny and edutacional. He was very very funny and pacient with us. We highly recommend that tour. Also we did the 2 Day Snaefellsnes Tour, we don´t remeber the guides name, but he had a beard and a daughter, also belonged to rescue squads. He was also very good buy only informative, I mean he lacked a bit of the fun and joy personality that in my opinion a tour guide should have, also sometimes it was difficult for him to understand a native speaker. I think he should also give a bit of a heads up as to the next locations, the stops we were going to do instead of just leaving us there. But all in all both tours were excellent and I highly recommend them.
It was great experience and glad to have Fannar as our guide. Even though the weather was not the best, the west coast view was still breathtaking and I hope to come back in summer again! In addition to plenty discovery to the scenic spots, Fannar was also able to fill the tour with Iceland history, geography, anecdotes and fun stories that gives every landmark more meaning. fyi - The hotel was the best during my 8 days tour this time., and small bus works way better than large ones.
We had a great time with Siggi, who made our tour fun, informative, and really the best part of our way-too-short time in Iceland. Scenery was unbelievable, and we had two days of sun in November! Mini van was comfortable, pick up was prompt, and we all enjoyed a very special time. Send our regards to Siggi, and special thanks for all the extra Icelandic horse information!
It was a very nice tour. Our guide Hafi told us a lot about the history and the country. Also the unplanned stops for beautiful landscape pictures with the special highlight of seeing an eagle were simply awesome. His choice of music on the way back was exactly to my taste. If I come to Iceland again in the summer of 2027, I would be happy to enjoy another tour with Hafi :)
We were really looking forward to our trip to Iceland, but the two-day trip to the west coast unfortunately severely affected our travel experience. Already at the beginning, the tour guide seemed unstructured and overtired. He mentioned himself that he had barely slept, which left us feeling uneasy from the start. During the journey towards the west coast, there was little information on the route, stops or toilet breaks. Instead, the guide repeatedly made inappropriate jokes and comments about other nations, which we felt was unprofessional. Due to the lack of organization, we were delayed several times throughout the tour. Among other things, the guide would regularly come back late, taking photos or being the last to return from restaurants. In sub-zero temperatures we had to wait outside for the bus several times and then boarded a cold bus, as the heating apparently did not work properly. This made us sit on the bus with winter jackets on both days. All this would have been disappointing, but we found the driving behaviour particularly critical: In slippery roads and sub-zero temperatures, the guide regularly used his mobile phone to take photos of himself or the landscape during the trip. Combined with his fatigue, this led to a very unsafe driving style with serpentine lines, jerky steering movements and unadjusted speed in corners. We felt uncomfortable and not safe throughout the tour. A new booking with this provider is out of the question for us.
We already started the tour with a bad feeling, as the rider had not slept as he had not slept enough. Instead of explaining the daily routine, we drove off and only after a long time did the driver start making inappropriate jokes instead of contributing anything to the landscape or sights. This was attributed to the language barrier at the end of the tour, but this cannot be because he could make inappropriate jokes and remarks in very good English. In our view, this was a complete lack of the relevant expertise. On the first night there was a realistic chance of the Northern Lights. The guide didn't say a word, nor did he give any tips on where to best see the Northern Lights at the hotel. If the designation and northern lights are included in the tour description, a hint of this would have been the least. The guide seemed disorganized overall - the times of the stops seemed arbitrary and not appropriate to the sights. The itinerary was changed so that we reached a sight on the first day only in the dark - basically fine, but would have been absolutely avoidable with better time management. The guide also could not operate the technology on the bus or the heating, so we froze for two days in sub-zero temperatures on the bus. But the worst thing for us was the constant use of mobile phone and camera at the wheel to write messages (?), take photos of the landscape and of ourselves. This is simply not possible and it is grossly negligent to risk the health and life of a full-occupancy minibus on a slippery roadway to take photos of the sunrise, sunset or one's own face. Unfortunately, this experience has had a lasting bad impact on our travel experience and we would never book a tour with this provider again.
Very, very good experience. Taken a lot of photos with friends! It was also patient enough to get us a lot of photos! And snacks and hot cocoa!!!!!! I'm so happy to see the Aurora with the naked eye tonight!!!!!! Thank you 🙏🏻 for dreaming! A VERY HAPPY NIGHT!!!!!!
